My answer would be that the born-again will still experience physical death, but never spiritual death. We are all born into this world spiritually dead and because of sin, we are separated from God. It is not until a person surrenders their life to Christ that they are made spiritually alive. At the point of salvation, we are made spiritually alive, never again to be separated from God. The death that a true believer (one who has been born of God's Spirit) will never experience is what the bible refers to as the second death. So the answer to your question would be yes and no. Yes, we as born again believers will experience physical death (Unless of course the Lord comes in our lifetime), and no, we will not experience the second death, spiritual death (Eternal separation from Christ), because we have been made alive in Christ. He is our seal. He is eternal. He lives in us. He will never leave us. So if I say I have eternal life, I am in essence saying that I have the eternal one, Christ living in me. I will always have Christ in me, and since He is eternal, I have eternal life, I have Christ. Would you like for me to share my understanding of the verses you listed?
I believe that your message is incorrect, and it conflicts with God's true message.
God can have mercy on whomever he pleases.
Romans 9:18
"Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth."
The example that you stated of Jesus forgiving the thief on the cross was "a special act of mercy" for the thief, NOT a message to "all mankind" to go ahead and keep sinning and just say that you believe in Christ and you will be saved. That message of just believing is a FALSE MESSAGE! Even the devil and his demons believe, are they going to heaven too?
We must not only believe, we must be baptized in water, receive the Holy Spirit, also REPENT, and lead a good christian life following the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus/God's message is plain for all to see. We can't just ignore what Jesus instructs us to do. There is so much scripture of Jesus telling us what we need to do, to enter into the kingdom.
John 14:15
"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
Revelation 22:12-14
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Do you believe the above scripture? If you believe the above scripture, and if you love Jesus you will follow HIS advice! If you turn your back on the above scripture, Jesus has already said that he will be our JUDGE, and he will judge us according to HIS WORD!
God Bless.
Rightly Divided 2 Timothy 2:15 From "Things That DIFFER!":
No, for the Body Of CHRIST! = No "works" to be saved, as it is by "GRACE Through faith" Ephesians 2:8-9 There is ONLY 'ONE' Baptism, Today, Under God's PURE GRACE!:
ONE 'Spiritual' Baptism to be saved? Yes!:

Matthew 25:31-46
Proverbs 3:1-35
Isaiah 58:1-14
Jude 1:1-25
I have drawn comfort from these scriptures. Jude 1:24-25, 1 Jude 1:21,
Nahum 1:7 also in context is the bigger picture
Luke 12:32 Luke 12:1-59
1 Colossians 1:10-23
Philippians 1:6
I hope these scriptures give you a bigger picture that the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is showing us & are encouraging to you. Many more I wanted to share but deleted & held back to not overwhelm with too much reading all at once.
Christ promised the thief on the cross LIFE when the kingdom of God was made available by the death of Christ.
If you have to be water baptisted, then the thief will never be able receive Christ's promise.
Christ word's can not be broken; therefore it's water baptism that does't stand.
John baptised with water, God baptises with SPIRIT.
Thank you for your kind comments.
1 Thessalonians 4:14 (KJV) -"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.". Have you considered "sleep in Jesus" as referring to the believers that sleep in the salvation of Jesus and not in some place in which Jesus is present (heaven)? Saying that I trust in Jesus does not actually mean that I am attached or embodied in Jesus. It means that I trust in what Jesus stands for as my salvation and eternal life with Him.
Sorry about my misunderstanding as to the Lazarus in your prior comment. Lazarus had died, no doubt in any Christian's mind. The body was decomposing as Mary told Christ. Christ recalled the spirit, some may soul, of Lazarus and the body was restored to life until the appointed time for the spirit to exit the body later. That the spirit resides somewhere accessible is not the question; the question is where. I find no concrete evidence it is in heaven either before or after the resurrection.
Case in point, 1 Samuel 28:11-20. The spirit of Samuel was brought from its resting place for Saul. Granted, God can do and/or permit ALL THINGS. Personally, I can not accept the spirit of Samuel was recalled from heaven, but it could have been.
As to the use of the name "Lazarus" in the parable of the poor beggar, the Hebrew meaning of Lazarus, (Hebrew, , means "God Has Helped". Thus, the use of "Lazarus" reinforces the intended meaning of the parable and invites no questioning as to the name after the parable is concluded.
Matthew 27:52,53 is another example of the unlimited power of God. Jesus restored life to at least three (3) bodies, for these are recorded. There was an earthquake that could have opened graves. Those brought to life are called "saints". Those raised would have been known in Jerusalem to have died. This, to me, is an act of confirming Christ's holiness and coming resurrection in three (3) days.
Try to understand that you ARE NOT separate and apart from God, but ONE, you do not exist apart from God.
NOW:
Philippians 2: 13 For it is God (the spirit of LIFE and TRUTH IN YOU) that WORKETH IN YOU both TO WILL AND TO DO his good pleasure.
He is the ONLY LIFE and he is working to make you that LIFE ALSO. He want FAIL.
Ephesians 1:11 In whom we also have obtained an INHERITANCE, being predestinated according to the PURPOSE OF HIM who worketh all things after the council of HIS WILL.
Romans 8:29 For whom he foreknow, he also predestinated to be CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, so that he might be the first borne among many brethren.
Isaiah 14:24 ....Surely as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, an as I have purposed, so shall it stand.
Fear not! Walk with Jesus Christ, read and believe His Gospel. Follow HIS commandments and he will guide you to everlasting life!
None of us will ever be perfect. We must try to follow in Christs footsteps, and when we fall short, we must pray for forgiveness.
Jesus will be our JUDGE and he tells us in scripture what he will look for in us:
John 3:5
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
We must believe, and be baptized in Water and the Holy Spirit!
Above, Jesus tells us that we need to follow God's 10 commandments, hopefully in doing so, we will be producing the good works/good fruit as required by Jesus above, in order to enter in though the gates of the city.
God Bless
Yes, I agree. Faith is a word that describes what God does. The bible tells us that faith is a fruit of God's Spirit. The faith that the bible speaks of can only be produced by God's Spirit. We cannot produce spiritual faith, only human faith. The word faith literally means persuasion. But there are two types of faith, human faith, and spiritual faith. We either persuade ourselves (human faith), or we submit to the persuasion of God's Spirit persuading us and moving us to do something (Spiritual faith). When we submit to the persuasion of God's Spirit working in our lives, that's the faith God sees and rewards. I like to describe faith as the presence and activity of God's Spirit in a believer's life. When God's Spirit persuades us, that's faith. Have a blessed day!
Are not the BORN AGAIN to never see death?
Matthew 16:28 ....There be some standing here, which shall no taste of death, .....
John 5:24 ....but is passed from death unto life.
John 8:51 ....he shall never see death.
In the twinkling of an eye DEATH is swallowed up in VICTORY
Colossians 1:13 ....And hath TRANSLATED US into the kingdom of his dear Son:
I am not a Bible scholar, not even close. I ask for the God Yahweh to lead me to the truth He will provide for me. Yes, I do not believe all scripture has the same meaning for all believers; it is tailored to the individual.
With that stated, I question the verses used in your first point in that there is no scriptural basis for the story of Lazarus being more than a parable to emphasize the difference in eternity between the believer, even though I find no evidence Lazarus was described as even a devout Jew. But the rich man most likely was due to being rich.
Lazarus being on the bosom of Abraham was a ploy to magnify the revered position of the devout Jew - descended from Abraham. The rich man being separated from Abraham would be the ultimate blow to a Jew - loss of contact with the father of the Jews.
The story of Lazarus has nothing to do with the immediate passing of the spirit to either heaven or paradise. It is simply an allegory to emphasize the correct use of wealth to care for the unfortunate.
This parable has a twofold message to the audience. First, the social position of a person has no relevance to God's view of the individual. Second, neglect of the needs of a fellow human will not go unnoticed by God in His judgment of an individual.
Reread the complete chapter of Luke 16. This is imperative to understand the context and purpose of the story of Lazarus. Christ was speaking of the misuse of resources given to one individual by God in respect to caring for the needs of the unfortunate.
Your use of Revelation 6:9-11 is also interesting in that just when on the judgment timetable did it occur.
I would be most interested in your interpretation of Ephesians 4:9.
I enjoyed your comments, however, I fail to see where the first resting place of the spirit is clarified.
Pray to God in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. Talk to him, HE will listen, and HE will comfort You. Ask him to guide you, and put your life in His hands.
Isaiah 41:13
"For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."
I will also pray for you.
God Bless.
Thanks for sharing the scripture confirming water baptism. Yes, I also believe we must be Born of Water and Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. So baptism with water and receiving the Holy Spirit will be the requirement - per Jesus Christ! This scripture is so powerful, Jesus stating "EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT"
John 3:5
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
To argue differently, is to argue directly with Jesus.
God Bless.
You haven't shared about your forefathers or how you may be considering them as demons, so I can't give anymore specifics. Your forefathers will always be related to you no matter how they have lived their lives. You are responsible for your own life & if you have family members, also to care for them, nurture them & lead them to live carefully & responsibly. I don't know your culture, but I would think that a person in any culture will never deny his heritage & his responsibilities to his fellow-man.
As far as loving your forefathers, that depends on a person's inclination; some pay no heed to any one other than those about them - others, will go to great lengths to prepare (endless) genealogies & retrieve historical records/photos, so as to keep their memories alive. So be free to give love, respect or consideration to your forefathers, if you deem them worthy, but if their lives have been filled with evil, then we can learn to stay far away from their errors, & turn to the One Who promises us forgiveness of our sins, a new abundant life on Earth, & a sure hope of an eternity with Him. And of course, His Name is Jesus Christ, Who came as the Saviour for all men, no matter their religion, country of birth, or their deeds. Jesus gave His Life for you & me, so that we wouldn't have to suffer eternity without God & in everlasting punishment. John 3:16-19; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9, all giving us assurance that when we come to God through His Son, He will forgive & He will accept. Your forefathers may have not heard this Good News - today no one has any excuse. May you receive God's comfort.
