I too don't believe there's any symbolism in that sad picture of Noah. He was farmer having a vineyard & imbibed a little too much in his fermented product, probably after a hard day's work. As a result of his drinking & maybe the warm conditions in his tent, he laid aside his garment & fell asleep. Some like to read that passage, that his wife was also there & they were intimate together. Others believe that Ham engaged with his mother. All these are theories from a fertile imagination & find no basis in what is given to us here.

Though 'Christianity' is not seen here because of the era of those events, we can note & take heed to grievous & sometimes, humiliating effect of alcohol consumption. Ephesians 5:18 warns Christians 'not to be drunk with wine, but rather to be filled with God's Spirit'. Don't fill yourself with alcohol that can lead one to sin & embarrassment, but fill yourself with the real, pure, enriching Spirit of God Who will lead us in what God requires of His children.

May God help you dear friend understand more from His precious Word, leading you into His Light & Salvation. We're here to help you & guide you in God's Word.

Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words. The girls are in counseling. And they do have church every Sunday. We do do family dinners and we Dupre at dinner time every night. I asked the girls to pray before they go to sleep at night as well in any other time that they feel they need to talk to God to do so. I have been reading through the Bible right now plus they have a daily devotional for kids their age. The Bible that the reading right now is for children her age so they can understand it. But it is a king James version. My other two older daughters a very involved. You've always been a very close family. Some days are harder than others, because the girls were never taught right from wrong, I respect your elders and how to respect themselves. They've been with us since we were 7&8 in February for the 11 and 12. they don't appreciate anything because everything I think ever had has been stolen or taken away wait when they have lost a home, because their mother didn't pay the rent she use the money for other things. They grew up seeing their mother take what she wanted from others and to do what she wanted no matter what the consequences were. I think that it's OK to do. I pray for these girls every night every day that God will help him to see that they need to change their ways so that they can be happy little girls without any cares in the world. Been almost 3 years and they still take food and hide it, they still yell at me and tell me what they're gonna do and if they don't have to do anything that I tell him. They know that I won't spank him only thing I do is take things from them, one time I was going to spank Hazel because she was being very very bad and she hurt me so bad she ended up hitting me and hurting me. Now she tells me you can't make me do anything that I don't want to.

You're right there Alice. Judges chapters 6 through to 8 speak of Gideon & his exploits. When you see the name 'Jerubbaal', this also refers to Gideon, a name given to him because he tore down the altars of baal.

Hi Jeanette. A day's journey would be between sunrise & sunset, yet allowing for factors such as prevailing weather conditions, ability of the travellers, & time constraints. However, a rough estimate would be approx. 25 miles per day, though this figure could be altered depending on the above factors.

Thank you David. May I refer you to a few OT & NT Scriptures: Exodus 33:7; Proverbs 1:20; Ezekiel 41:17. And Matthew 12:46,47; Matthew 26:69; Hebrews 13:13. These show the intended meaning of 'without' as seen & understood in Genesis 9:22.

But if you still believe that Genesis 9:22 is incomplete, I would be very interested, like Adam, to know where you learned this & the relevant references so we can research this as you have done. In anticipation I remain.

    Hi Brother Ronald.

You are right, there is so much that is not given in scripture so most is conjectural.

I also believe Adam lived in a different environment for lack of better terms, "Before sin entered the world."

A big question that troubles me is the word naked. It seems it carries more of a spiritual meaning than nudity often in scripture.

I believe often it's the opposite of being clothed with righteousness in a way mentioned here in Isaiah 61:10-11.

The question is was Adam and Eve naked spiritually before eating of the tree of "knowledge of good and evil and perhaps they were clothed in a way mentioned in Ezekiel 16:7-15. We know good and evil existed long before Adam. "But they had no knowledge of it until they ate if the fruit. Look at Genesis 3:17. in that context, ( AND THE EYES OF THEM BOTH WERE OPENED,)....( and they knew that they were naked;...) and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

I believe as you do Adam and Jesus Christ is all part of Gods plan that was before this world and I feel it involves Satan because this plan, that was before this world, included the lake of fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels.

I believe in the Gap theory, Not as some do and try to fit the Dinosaurs into that gap or any other life existence that we know of, I believe they were all created in the Genesis account. I believe Lucifer may possibly have had a dominion here on earth in that Gap.

Here's why. Ezekiel 28:13. ( Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; ) every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

The account in Genesis Lucifer has already fallen, He's not adorned as mentioned in Ezekiel 28. " I believe this fallen mentioned here is positionally. and. "Down to Earth."

    until next time.

    GBU.

Discovering Noah's nakedness; means Ham , slept with his wife. ( mother ) This is of course not well taught, an often harshly scrutinized by many , but it's the plain simple facts.

    Take no Thought,

I'm glad to know you are English Sacha's husband, there are some of us who enjoy reading her post and accept her as a sister in Christ. Galatians 3:27-28 if we treat people with the love of Christ that is in us and it is not accepted, it is not a testimony to us but, is a testimony against them.

    May God bless you both,

I believe the Bible is God's Word. If you believe it's a corrupted man's word then I wonder why you're reading it and what other info source you're comparing to, like Hebrew? Did someone tell you the KJV is corrupted and do you believe them or are you assuming this based on your own research of something in particular?

You gave a few examples in a sentence, but I can't quite discern what you're referring to. It sounds you're mentioning someone being naked, but you didn't say what book/chapter/verse nor whether you think the KJV says that or Hebrew says that or some other source? If you want to discuss your questions in an open manner that can be done and you'll probably get others' input, but to come to a KJV Bible site and claim that the Bible is corrupt without any dialog seems inappropriate.

I was able to comprehend your statement about tower of babel, however. Ok, you seemed to ask where races came from and I gave my opinion and wrote the 2nd paragraph response to you. But now you're saying that it wasn't in the Bible. Of course it's not in the Bible- if it was in the Bible would you be asking about it? And that's why I wrote what I did: "While the Bible doesn't explain all answers to all questions we have..." which is why I offered my opinion.

I'm just going to go and say it... Why does Noah get naked? I'm quite confused, and don't really see any symbolism in it.

I would love some responses as I'm currently trying to learn more about christianity as I've recently felt more and more drawn toward god.

Thank you for you comment, I too trust GOD word over man's assumptions, but isn't what's in the KJV, the translation from the Hebrew writings? And if yes, then why do the Hebrew writings from 200BC say without covering his nakedness. brother your soul is at stake, and you have to make sure for yourself, do your own research, but be wise about it, don't go by what somebody is telling you it says, look for yourself, and you quoted some theories about Noah having a mix race family, that's just bonkers to me, and I've only been study for 6 months, and at the tower of babel, it says nothing about changing Thier races, he confounded their language, and scattered them across the earth. We know Satan Will cause a great deception, don't you think that corruption of the word of GOD, and misleading the followers of Jesus Christ could be the great deception? That's why you should do your own research, and not trust man. You said you will take God words over man's words any day didn't ya?

  • David - In Reply on Genesis 9 - 4 years ago
Now ask yourself, does that make any sense? If you read what the Hebrews originally wrote, it say's without covering his nakedness. You are correct, when you say he went out of the tent, and told his brother's, and that's how they new to bring a garment and walk backwards, that's not what's in question here, it's what they have taken out from the Bible, and what was originally written, that's in question, and that's just so they don't have to talk about, different civilization's, using the curse of Canaan, to justify them in slaving black people, but the curse was, he and his offsprings would be of a darker hue. We have to go by the closest too, and the most reliable information that we have, and when they start leaving out words, and start changing words, just to be politically correct, and Christians except it, well I have a problem with that and so does GOD!!! GOD Bless brother.

I am sorry for your family hardship.

Is death predestined? This is hard to prove with Bible verses, but my personal belief is sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. This is a fallen world and we are all immortal and are cursed to die, thanks to Adam and Eve disobeying God and committing the original sin. Satan may also have power to afflict us physically. Job 2:7.

So, we will all die, but we don't know the timing. We tend to get really upset and blame God for His timing being different than our arbitrary expectations. A beautiful child can even be in paradise, but we will sometimes be furious against God for having him there instead of in an environment on earth full of temptation and evil.

God's priorities are not our priorities on earth. He never promised we'd have a long life and be healthy and wealthy. We might hear man say that on TV, but that doesn't mean it's true. We also get frustrated we don't know why and keep asking why, why, why repeatedly through life in every hardship we have. Even Jesus as a human cried out 'why' to His Father: Matt 27:46. Even Jesus as a temporary man on earth wasn't allowed all the answers, and He went through extreme hardship. And He took it like a man. Didn't complain, but asked why. He kept His love, turned the other cheek, and had great compassion on others. If Jesus Himself wasn't given the answers, why should we expect to? It even suggests this in the Bible that we won't be given all knowledge here. 1 Corinthians 2:7, Job 11:7, Colossians 2:1-3

I believe life here on earth is a test. God is testing our character and who we will follow. Often we fail badly. We have a sinful nature we must fight against. Some of the most rock solid Christians have admitted their constant struggles with it too, like Paul in the Bible. 2 Corinthians 12:9, James 1:2

So, why bother praying? God/Jesus is the only hope we have. We aren't puppets playing a script, but have freewill. God sometimes answers prayer and can change His mind.

    Thank you, S Spencer,

Brother, on part one, this is something I will have to study more, I agree with what you are saying but it seems empty, if you know what I mean. Because the first Adam, before he sinned is unlike any mortal man since he sinned, his body was not born in corruption like ours, sin was not in him. We know man cannot see Gods face and live, Exodus 33:20-23, until the new heaven and new earth, Revelation 22:3-4 in our glorified bodies.

Going by Exodus no man can see God's face, so is that after sin or does that include the first Adam? If so, how did God communicate with Adam? He communicates with us through His Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus that dwells in us like you said by the blood of Christ shed on the cross. We see that even after they were cast out of the garden they were still in the presence of God because Cain was the first to be driven from the presence of God, Genesis 4:13-16.

Are the cherubim and flaming swords a shadow of the ark where God sits between the cherubim? Is that why they were in the presence of God?

I feel the first Adam and the last Adam Jesus Christ is all part of Gods plan that was before this world and I feel it involves Satan because this plan, that was before this world, included the lake of fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matthew 25:4. However God communed with the first Adam he was part of this plan that Satan could not see, up to the crucifying of the last Adam, the only begotten Son, Satan was blind to this because he did not try to stop it. Like what He tried to do with Job he thought he could get Job to curse God to His face, which he also failed.

The questions here is more for me to study not to you.

    continued
  • Ronald L Whittemore - In Reply on John 1 - 4 years ago
    Part two

I know the first Adam could not bring eternal life but I feel the first Adam was the start of the plan of salvation, and the undoing of Satan. and the penalty of it was death, that was eternal death, and the first sacrifice for sin that God covered Adam and Eve with skins of innocent animals, as you said a picture of what His Son would do for us. The first Adam initiated the purpose for the last Adam Jesus Christ and the defeat of Satan.

I was relating to the conscience before, the word naked in Genesis 2:25 is a word arom that means just what is says unclothed. They were innocent or we could say ignorant to nudity until they ate of the tree and they knew they were nude, their eyes were opened, their conscience filled with shame and fear of judgment, that is why they tried to hide. The word in Genesis 3:7 -rum-mim is a different word meaning nakedness with shame. I feel when God said, "where art thou" is like a father calling out to a child he knew where he was but to see if he would show himself.

Adam was afraid for his disobedience, it is like a thief that heard a siren, he runs to hide to avoid the punishment. Lord God YHVH Elohim instead of God Elohim the name used from Genesis 1, until after day seven Genesis 2:4? Elohim supreme one or mighty one the creator, in chapter 1 God only created without any reaction with what He had created. YHVH Elohim Master, communicator, He started communicating with Adam as a Father would a son.

Not all was written, like with Cain and Abel, Abel brought of the sheep he kept and Cain brought of the plants of the field. Abel brought of the firstlings, but it does not say Cain brought of the first fruits. It is not written so; do we assume because Cain did not bring a blood sacrifice is why his was rejected? According to Genesis 1 they were to eat plants?

I have enjoyed this, and will continue studying, may we always walk in the Spirit of truth.

    God bless,

    RLW
