    Hello Hilarion Charles. Whenever we feel or believe that God has spoken to us, whether in a dream, whilst in prayer, or from reading His Word, He will always confirm His Message to us in other ways. I think of young Samuel (in 1 Samuel 3:1-10) when he heard a voice speak to him in the night. Supposing that voice to be of the aged Eli, he went to him. But the voice was actually from God, & God continued to call him & finally gave him His Word only when Samuel spoke, "Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth".

    Back in 1987, I heard the Spirit's Voice, whilst in prayer, directing me to go out & serve in overseas Missions. I was even told the name of Mission organization which I hadn't heard of before. I could hardly believe that deep sense of conviction I had in me. I continued to pray about it asking if that was truly God's Message & if He would order my future actions to meet that end. I shared this encounter with no one, but waited for God to move. So, in a series of events, with the sale of my home to a buyer who had never seen house (I hadn't even advertised it nor employed a selling agent), the buyer who lived in the UK whom I'd never met, & who paid me a price that was above the market value, I sensed the Lord was in control & directing me. And with various other occurrences (providing all the finances, etc.), the Lord made it amply clear that this Word was from Him & He was in control.

    Sorry, I can't interpret your dream about your ring & the Word given to you, but I can share with you, that if that's God's Word to you, then hand that matter over to God, asking Him to make that Word abundantly clear to you in the days & weeks ahead, making it a very real burden upon your heart, & to open up the way (even through the obstacles) to see the goal achieved. If God is not it, then leave it be & continue to praise Him with all your heart & remain faithful in every aspect of your life. In so doing, you will surely hear from your Heavenly Father again. Blessings.

    Bonami. Heresy is the promotion of doctrine or teaching that is variance to the accepted understanding of God's Word. If allowed to continue, the Church (believers) will become confused, fall into sin, & eventually start believing lies. One can see the condition of the Church today with the plethora of false teaching. I think 'two admonitions' to an heretic is more than sufficient to dismiss such a perpetrator & testify against him. If he should repent & see the error of his ways, he should be welcomed back into fellowship; Galatians 6:1; James 5:19,20.

  • EASING INTO STREET MINISTRY - 4 years ago
    Street Evangelists, need to have a healthy prayer life. I pray To The Lord of the Harvest before I go to the streets. He will bring those who are ready to hear; into your area.

    Stay on public right of way. Private properties can be risky. City streets and parks are public.

    You can pray for a lost person to pick up some tracts on a bus bench, a park bench, I saw one on a sidewalk right in front of a goodwill; and someone picked it up. In the parking lot near liquor stores: ground or 1-2 windshields. Be creative. The Lord of the Harvest ( look up the scripture) will send someone into your path, who is ready to hear about THE GOSPEL.

    Outside Whole Foods you can preach that Jesus said in the Last Days, society would forbid people to EAT MEAT, OR BE MARRIED. Our culture dictates we live together first; or be gay.

    1 Corinthians 7 teaches Marriage. Betrothal is one year (as in dating and no sex).

    The human body assimilates meat easier than powders, etc. I'll eat a steak over a blender meal, any day :D

    The best Teacher for street ministry is the Holy Spirit. Listen to Him.

    My first time out alone, I told a bunch of happy drunks coming out of a bar (I used to get smashed in)___ "you're all going to hell if you don't give your hearts to Christ." They laughed all the way to the cars.

    I went home, laid my head on my Bible and cried, feeling so stupid. After a few minutes, I hear the Holy Spirit ask, "Are you through doing it your way?" Omygosh my head came up and I said YESSIR!! He said I will lead, and you just follow.

    I embarked on years of ministry that was fun and heart changing. I always did follow up. I never left a "newborn lamb" alone. I took them to a shepherd that would Pastor them. I invited the teenagers to my home sometimes for food and stories. Jesus needs Disciples that He is raising up; equipping. Don't be afraid to ask for the best gifts, 1 Corinthians 12.

    TRACTS: most people will take the comic books tracts with them.
  • Satan Fights Dirty__Learn How To Fight Back - In Reply on Matthew 24 - 4 years ago
    I'm preaching a little here

    People need to know we all have to stay prayed up against spiritual attacks. I almost had my neck broke by one. And then it was pulled off of me by an angel. I didn't see it, but I heard body blows out in the yard outside my open window.

    It happened when I came home from church and found my tarot card carrying aunt trying to tell my mother the Roswell incident was real. I looked my aunt in the eyes and said, SELLS LOTS OF BOOKS DOESN'T IT? She did the eye thing too and said, IT SURE DOES. Her and her "medium" boyfriend left the next morning.

    Not long after that I gave a church friends friend a ride home from church. (She wanted to go out with friends). On the way to his house he starts hissing and twisting like a snake; and he pulls out a 10 inch butcher knife. I was praying silently in tongues the last few blocks. He got out of my car without incident.

    We all must know that the Dominion, God gave to Adam is ours too. Creepy people qualify as creeping things as far as I'm concerned. Jesus gave us Authority to tread on scorpions, creeps and every other evil thing. Gotta learn who we are IN CHRIST. The word of God (scriptures) in our mouth__is as deadly as Goliaths sword in David's hands. Jesus confronted Satan with scriptures; when He was tempted in the desert.

    The spirit world is invisible ( Ephesians 6) you won't see anything but your spirit can discern the attack. Fight back like Jesus did. God isn't going to allow "them" to hurt His child.

    We can ask God to send angels to guard our house and kids. They harken to the Word being spoken, so put some FM Radio on in the evenings; or YouTube spiritual warfare scripture readings.

    We have weapons of warfare. I'm saying they work. "We have not, because we don't ask. So let's ask, receive it and use it." I'm not making this up. Anyone doing anything with Jesus, be alert. Don't date UNBELIEVERS, young people.

    Mishael

    I did not find Heretic in the Bible, I don't remember reading it in other translations. I looked it up & it seems to be a word associated with a religious word for someone that doesn't believe the Biblical text. Not exactly sure?

    I will try answering your question best as I can through scripture:

    1 John 1:9

    Matthew 6:14

    James 1:5

    Hopefully these scriptures are helpful.

    (continued pt 2) Still, God/Jesus forgave Peter and he continued to preach the Gospel.

    Also, define what "love" is. Is love feelings or actions? 'cause I can hate someone but still do what's right. If I see someone that is hungry, even though I have no love for that person I can still give them a sandwich or some money or something.

    Peter was chastised by Paul: (for saying that the Gentiles should be circumcised)

    Galatians 2: (Paul speaking)

    11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

    12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

    13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

    14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

    Peter messed up but God still used him. Peter was to preach the Gospel to the Jews and Paul was to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. In other words, "the example of our walk" means nothing. If one rejects salvation because I'm not Christ-like enough, that's just an excuse. Everyone must seek God/Jesus while they may be found. People are wicked but God is all light and there is no darkness in him or Jesus. God/Jesus are the way, the truth and the life.

    And as for the Word of God, (the Bible) it's been available for years. You can buy them at DollarTree for a buck. No one is forbidding anyone to read the Bible. (Not yet anyway.) If they want to kick God/Jesus to the curb, that's on their head- not mine.

    But, thank you for responding. I will consider your explanations.
  • Dgjot - In Reply on Acts 2 - 4 years ago
    You: "We as disciples of Jesus are to plant the seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to water by the example of our walk, and love for Jesus and them and with the word of God. We cannot win souls, we cannot add to the Church, God does the choosing but through the Holy Spirit, He guides our steps to those He may choose."

    I got saved because I was seeking God. I prayed to God and told Him that I wanted to know HIS truth, not some person's. In the same day, the Jehovah's Witnesses showed up at the door. They gave me their Watch Tower magazine. Even as an unsaved person, God guided me. I tossed the Watch Tower mag. in the trash. Later God introduced me to the lady that would lead me to the Lord. She explained what "Jesus Saves" meant. Unfortunately, she was one of those Charismatic Christians and a Jesus freak. I went to the Pentecostal Church for 7 years, learning nothing about Christ Crucified and Risen the whole time I was there. The Pastor rarely cracked open a Bible and they were all more concerned about the chanting ("speaking in tongues" and all at the same time). It was creepy, AND unbiblical.

    I left that church and went to many others, and they were all phony. I finally stopped going to church altogether.

    I've learned more reading the Bible on my own and watching selected video's on You Tube, than all the years of going to those false churches. In a nutshell, if one is sincerely looking for God, God will reveal himself to them. It doesn't do you any good to preach the Gospel to people who aren't interested in hearing it. That's a classic case of seeds being sown on stony ground.

    You:"...and to water by the example of our walk, and love for Jesus and them and with the word of God."

    That doesn't work either. People had seen Peter with Jesus and questioned him about his relationship with Jesus. Peter denied Jesus 3x before Jesus was crucified. By his bad example, how many people turned away from salvation????

    Hi Dan, thanks for your comments. Please know that my response is given in love with my only intention to glorify the Lord.

    I understand what you are saying about not turning down service providers based on if they are believers or not, I certainly would not turn down bypass surgery or roof repair because the provider was not a believer; however, those services are quite different than "spiritual" or "mind" service providers. Heart surgery or roof repair is not doctrine or the word of God and has nothing to do with salvation or living a Godly life or solving behavioral (heart) problems ( Jeremiah 17:9, Mark 7:20-23).

    When it comes to obeying the Lord and following His word, psychology just seems to be a secular (and ungodly) look at behavior. It is an attempt to explain why we do things and what the solution is without referring to God and His word. Psychology is an invention from worldly men who denied Jesus Christ (people like Freud, Wundt, Jung, Skinner, etc). Some psychologists even merge the word of God and secular theory which seems unbiblical to me (we are to be set apart from this world - John 15:19, Romans 12:1-3, 1 John 2:15-17).

    I guess what I am really asking is - to put it how you were phrasing it - if someone was 'sick' (spiritually) why would they go to a secular physician (psychologist) and not a spiritual physician (Jesus)? We even have a behavioral manual (the Word). The bible seems to continually say that the Lord and His word are sufficient, exactly what we need and that we should avoid the wisdom of men ( 2 Timothy 2:15-16, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 2:25, Hebrews 4:14-16, Isaiah 55:7-9). 1 Corinthians 2:11-16. When we become a Christian, we have the mind of Christ, which is spiritual - not worldly. Jesus is our counselor ( Isaiah 9:6) and he knows us ( John 2:25).

    It seems that as a Christian we either believe that the word of God is sufficient for all spiritual problems or we don't.

    BTW - this is not for me, it involves a family member.

    Please pray for me. I lost the love of my life to suicide a few months back. i struggle with this daily. I dont know what God has in store for me. i feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under me. I just wish he knew how much i loved him. what could I have done differently? I tried to tell him God loved him. He did not feel that way. I pray he made it right in his heart. that bothers me the most.

    This is one of my fave hymns , written in the 1800's .

    The King of love my Shepherd is ,

    Who's goodness faileth never :

    I nothing lack of I am his ,

    And he is mine for ever .

    Where streams of living water flow

    My ransomed soul he leadeth ,

    And where the verdant pastures grow

    With food celestial feedeth.

    Perverse and foolish oft I strayed ;

    But yet in love he sought me ;

    And on his shoulder gently laid ,

    And home , rejoicing , brought me .

    In deaths dark vale I fear no I'll ,

    With thee , dear Lord , beside me ;

    Thy rod and staff my comfort still ,

    Thy cross before to guide me .

    Thou spread'st a table in my sight ;

    Thy unction grace bestoweth ;

    And O , what transport of delight

    From thy pure chalice floweth !

    And so through all the length of days

    Thy goodness faileth never :

    Good Shepherd ,may I sing thy praise

    Within thy house forever .

    God has told Peter; DO NOT CALL unclean what I have cleaned with my blood. Paul declared in everyone behalf by the Holy Spirit voice. { Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."} NO DESCRIMMNATION. I AM A GOD THAT DO NOT SET ASSIDE MY SPIRITS IN THEM ALL.

    Brother Fred, what you write seems reasonable. I might have been 15 years old when a friend suggested that I have a living soul within my known understanding of myself. So, we need teachers of the whole truths of God and examples of how we learned enough to come to realization that we were sinners and by sin separated from God. We also needed to learn of God's redemption plan in Jesus. Likewise we needed to understand that we would have to reach out as sinners to this plan, Jesus, by faith at the Cross and no works in life could help us. For me it took from 15 old to 31 years old to truly understand my present condition as lost and my lack of faith to become saved. Wondering how it went for you id you like to share.

    I have to apologize --I could have swore that it was in the book of Romans --since I started reading the Bible as a child I see they have done away with the Thee's & Thou's etc --I wish they would have left it alone-- the King James Bible is no longer the King James more or less--the reason I said the Catholic church wrote the bible is because of all the changes -I know the catholic church doesn't use the real Bible they made they'er own laws which are worthless --in grade school they teach evolution & creation together --I pulled out the first bible that I have ever bought and I was floored that it was The New American Standard --30 years ago I bought a RYRIE study Bible which is as close to a KJV as it can be ( My Opinion ) --Iread the KJV on the internet because I can enlarge the print and I am thankful that we are able to so so .

    Verse 18-Paul wasn't minimizing their suffering but he was comparing their suffering to the heavenly glory that they would experience.
