    2 Corinthians 5:8 | View whole chapter

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

    2 Corinthians 5:6

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

    1 Corinthians 5:3

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

    Karl McGuire sr.

Hey Karl my understanding is, may someone else have another view. John was given a vision of the new earth and where we will be, and in verse 10 we are told the time is at hand. Our time on this earth is short like in ( James 4:14), and we may not be here tomorrow and at death that's it, the door is shut there is no redemption after death. The righteous will still be righteous and the wicked will still be wicked. Verse 11 is a warning and a call for those that have not repented and excepted Jesus as their savior and time is running out.

We are all naturally unjust, and filthy because of sin in us, some of us have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. A righteous man is only righteous by the righteousness of Jesus. After the thousand years and judgment, only the righteous and holy will walk through those gates into the New Jerusalem, and verses 11 and 15 are those outside that are cast into the lake of fire, as we see in ( Revelation 21:8).

Dogs were not looked on as we look at them today, they were mostly wild cruel unclean filthy animals highly disliked, Jesus associated a woman of Canaan with dogs, but nothing unclean will enter the city. We have a choice, eternity with God and Jesus in beautiful new earth or the lake of fire.

    God bless,

    RLW

You should tell your workplace that you've already spoken to the manager. God is the higher authority. We are of God or created by God in the flesh, and work for God in service to God in the spirit. "Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19 And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well." Faith heals. Not blind belief.

Reply to Questions in 1 Chronicles 24 by Sacha

Hey Sacha! My prayer is simple - all your inquiries are genuine and that you truly seek the truth. I say this because your questions remind me of the time that the apostle Paul was on Mars Hill in Athens ( Acts 17) talking to the people gathered there.

All of your questions are readily answered and covered in the scriptures. I recommend you read the KJV of the Bible. The questions you raised are not anything to be surprised at, nor to get excited about. You have not stated that you don't believe in the devil, just in a certain behavior by him.

I agree with you about hell, because there are the ignorant and sinners in heaven also (like me), and the demons don't do the torturing in hell.

I agree with you whole heartedly, that I too do not believe "any" will go to heaven, only a certain group (of which I am a part of).

As far as the scriptures you have referenced - Mark 13: 32 and Genesis 22- to truly understand them you must read and study it in its entirety. I mean the whole chapter should be read and especially the complete Bible.

However, truth cannot be understood unless you have the same mind as the Author of the Scriptures. You must be born again to understand the whole counsel of the Lord God Jesus Christ.

From your other posts on this forum, you seem to be knowledgeable of the Words of God. I thank you for your kind words of blessing from your god. I extend to you the blessings of the true God of the Scriptures of whom I serve. May His face shine on you and your family.

BBBob. How do you understand Matthew 16:23? Was it Peter or Satan who was standing before Jesus? If it was Peter, why did Jesus speak to him as Satan? Maybe, 1 John 3:12 has a similar application: that Cain was driven by Satan in what he did to his brother & wasn't a product of some type of strange birth of a spirit with a human being. And the same could be said of John 8:44.

Hi Kimberly , the names at the begining of each verse are the names of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet . You may also notice that each verse is divided into eight sentences . There may be some significance to that but I don't know what it is , I'm guessing only the writer knows for absolute certain. Enjoy .

In the first year that I read the Bible I read it seven times , I've been reading it every day for twenty seven years and I'm still learning new things from it , that's just part of the joy of it . The Bible teaches us this : if you think you know everything......every time it teaches me that I don't ! I don't think I will in this life . Keep at it , and witches aren't real , some of them think they are but most of them know that none of them are real , ' be it into you as you have believed ' .

God helped me passed my IELTS exam.

I can't believe that I'm sharing this s testimony today. I was just a silent reader of this page and it is where I searched for encouragement during my review. For a non-native English speaker like me, IELTS exam is really a challenging one. especially because I'm working and at the same time reviewing. During those times, I tried to do everything on my own. I forgot to pray and I completely immersed myself in my review. Finally, when I decided to take the exam last Septemeber 4, 2021, I asked my supervisor if I can take a 1 week leave just to finalize everything before the big day. Unfortunately, He just approved 4 days for me to sort everything out and get done with my exam. So I began to pray to God. I said," God, if it's your will, then may your will be done and not mine." I was reminded by the promise of Romans 8:28 that God works for our good "in all things" is reassuring. It means that no matter the circumstance, there are only two qualifiers for God to be working all things together for our good. ... Those who love God are called according to His purpose. So I hold on to this promise.

The moment that I surrendered my exam to God, I felt peace in my heart. a peace that is so satisfying that I completely feel that whatever the results of my exam, God will work it for my good. on the actual exam, I wasn't nervous, in fact, I listened to music before the exam started. I was so calm and I just kept saying Lord, Your will be done. you know the desires of my heart but may your will be done. After the exam, I was a bit unsure if I'm gonna pass because It was really a challenging one and I didn't expect that I'll pass. but then when I received my results after 4 days, I can't believe my eyes! my scores are more than what I expected to get. and that God truly kept His promise. I will be forever grateful to the God that I served. Even if it is impossible with man, but in God everything is possible. To God be the glory and Honor.

Hi Andre, that's great that you've read the whole Bible. Just because you don't remember a verse doesn't mean the Bible is automatically corrupted, however. Many others have read this too and would agree it hasn't changed. God's word I believe is alive. We likely won't comprehend everything the first read and often the next time through we learn something new. Sometimes the holy spirit may show you something. Also, this website has the original printing of the KJV to compare to the current one and the meaning is the same. God bless.

King James spoke Scottish Gaelic (Gaidhlig)as a first language, because he was a Scottish King and a Highlander Chief, and in Hebrew the word for "Grave" (Abode of the Dead) is Seol. In Gaidhlig, there is a similar sounding word which means to plant, to place, to put, to go on a journey, to sail (Seol). This would include to plant in the ground (as in a tree) or to put in a grave, or to travel on a journey (as the soul would, after Death (except the Gaelic word is a verb, not a noun). So, on a play of words, the Hebrew Seol was kept, and because, in Gaelic, you cannot begin a word with the letter H, Seol was lenited into Sheol (changes meaning from "put" to "to put" or "put" in the past tense) as in, to make (or have made) someone to have a "dirt nap" or go on a "Long Journey" (never coming back, dead!)

The joke or pun is, Sheol in Gaelic actually sounds like the English word Hell, and that's the whole idea...

    Wesley's Notes for Matthew 19:24

19:24 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, (a proverbial expression,) than for a rich man to go through the strait gate: that is, humanly speaking, it is an absolute impossibility. Rich man! tremble! feel this impossibility; else thou art lost for ever!

People's Bible Notes for Matthew 19:24

Mt 19:24 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man (i.e., as already explained, one who trusts in riches) to enter into the kingdom of God. In other words, one whose trust is in wealth cannot enter at all.
