Thank you brother ChrisE, I was afraid that I did understand you, as you wrote about this in your comments.

Re: 1 Corinthians 1:17. I believe that Paul "was not sent to baptize", as his calling & ministry was specifically to the preaching of the Gospel & for the establishing of assemblies of believers particularly among the Gentiles, to whom he was called. However, he did baptize Crispus ( 1 Corinthians 1:14, Acts 18:8) & Gaius ( Romans 16:23), & others, such as the household of Stephanus ( 1 Corinthians 1:16), though this seemed not to be the thrust of his ministry. So the fact that he did baptize (& I doubt if we could interpret the word to be 'baptize with the Spirit'), it must prove that water baptism was still performed as prescribed by the Lord in Matthew 28:19. How else would you read this?

I can understand where Ephesians 4:5 & 1 Corinthians 12:13 (as examples given by you) refer to baptism by the Spirit, however, the other references ( Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:27; & Romans 6:3-4) clearly imply that believers were baptized in water. So yes, I see two baptisms: one for identification & the other, for bringing into the Body of Christ & infilling.

In your mind, would Scriptures such as Matthew 28:18; Acts 8:13; Acts 8:36; Acts 9:18; Acts 10:47,48; Acts 16:15; Acts 16:33; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:5; & Acts 22:16, be speaking of Spirit baptism? I ask, as I've attempted with great difficulty to reinterpret those verses to mean anything other than immersion in water. Yes, there is the ONE Baptism that is important, that from the Spirit, yet the Scripture is replete with examples of water baptism following repentance as an act of identification. Now if I could find a verse to show the annulment of it, I would be forced to re-think this matter. Thank you for sharing those thoughts brother.

RLW: "we will be here and we must be prepared":

Now, this is quite interesting, what is your take, RLW, on three of your so-called "prophecy Experts," who Will Be Here, and the "way THEY teach to be prepared"?:

    (1) says to {SELFishly?} "hoard UP SEVEN years worth of food for the coming famine"

    (2) says to "FLEE from the cities to the protection of the RURAL areas"

    (3) says to "FLEE from the U.S. To the safety of Ethiopia"???

    (4) maybe you have "another idea" for preparedness?

    --------------------------------

Now, those of us, In The Body Of CHRIST:

    (A) who are looking, watching, and waiting patiently For The LORD JESUS CHRIST ( 2 Thessalonians 2:1) ( Romans 8:18-19) ( Romans 8:23) ( Romans 8:25) ( 1 Corinthians 1:7) ( Ephesians 6:12-18) ( Philippians 3:20) ( Colossians 4:1-3) ( 1 Thessalonians 1:10) ( 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11) ( Titus 2:13)

    (B) To Take us home to Heaven ( 2 Corinthians 5:1) ( 2 Corinthians 5:2) ( Ephesians 1:3) ( Ephesians 1:20) ( Ephesians 2:6) ( Philippians 3:20) ( Colossians 1:5) ( 2 Timothy 4:18)

Believe OUR "preparation" should be to:

    (1) Stay where God Has Called us, preaching The Gospel Of GRACE ( 1 Corinthians 15:3-4) ( Ephesians 2:8-9), to the lost,

    (2) "studying" God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15), avoiding ALL of the above Confusion, And:

    (3) Using our {God-Given} resources to, In "ONE WORD - LOVE our neighbor" ( Galatians 5:14) ( Romans 13:8-10), and {UNselfishly!} teaching/helping those in need!! ALL in "preparation" for:

    (C) Judgment ( 1 Corinthians 3:7-15) for "rewards" for these! Amen?

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened,Exhorted, and Edified!

I would investigate the motives behind this question. Is the goal to 'get out of' responsibility? Is the goal to do the bare minimum required as a Christian? Is the goal to avoid public embarassment or personal inconvenience? Which is more important- pleasing God, pleasing man, or pleasing yourself? Should a genuine Christian only strive to do the bare minimum God has 'required'?

Paul in Romans 6:17-18 said we were servants (or slaves) to sin, and now are servants/slaves of righteousness. Would a slave of righteousness want to avoid obedience to Christ and only do the bare minimum required as a Christian? What if Jesus doesn't want our bare minimum effort- what if that's an insult to Him? He died for you. Maybe He wants 100% of you- a total commitment. If you were 100% for Jesus as #1 priority in your life, how might you live your life differently?

It would be hard for a Bible-believing Christian to believe that Acts 2:38 means nothing. That it somehow means that you shouldn't be baptized, because it literally says TO be baptized. God bless...

Meekness is a sense of being open to the words of scripture and an attitude not found in the world. We are In the world but not of it, is the condition one must become to the nature found in a meek person. Other attributes of humility, thankfulness, giving, are just some of what a meek person might be. The bible will convert the natural to the spiritual in a person, most assuredly, the words of Christ. He told people the way it was and is, yet being meek in the process. Meekness is a ready state of mind to here the word of God! Even so, some of us will always have a cross to bear!

Please pray for my girlfriend Ivy and myself and our long distance relationship. I ask that you pray that her parents will want to come to know me, invite me to Florida to get to know me, like me, accept me, and eventually give me their blessing to marry their daughter. I'm asking also that you pray that we can get married so we can move in together and live a happy life and that her parents will forgive me for my trespasses. If you could do this for me I would appreciate it. Thanks!

    Theresa,

The instruction concerning deacons is found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.

The word deacon, DIAKONOS, is literally the Greek word for a waiter, or waitress in a restaurant. It is somebody who serves, somebody who waits on people.

The actual office itself was not created by man for the church. It was actually created out of necessity and need. Back in Acts Chapter 6, there were a group of Hellenistic Jewish women and families who were being overlooked in the daily distribution of bread.

Not purposely, but in their community, these are Greek speaking Jews who are in a community together. And they were being overlooked in this distribution of bread.

So the disciples said choose out men who are of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom that we may appoint over this matter.

And that was the beginning of deacons. It wasn't really an office in the church. It was the description of a server, someone to serve the physical needs of the believers just like it is in the church today, even though in the church today, it is an office called the deacon.

The Text in 1 Timothy tells us that the deacon or deacons, as they are appointed for office, they are supposed to be examples to the rest of the church.

In fact, it tells us in the text that they are to be lifted up, and actually it is the word pedestal, not for people to glorify them, but for them to be an example of what it means to be a server, because every believer is supposed to be a server. So they are the examples of what it means to serve.

Thanks brother Philip, for those great additions to my understanding. As I read it over, my thoughts went to both our Lord & also to the Apostle Peter who brought out warnings about correct leadership of Christ's Church: Matthew 20:25-28 & 1 Peter 5:2,3. Those, of whom the early Church congregations were warned, certainly disregarded this great example of humility, leadership, & being a pattern to emulate. But aren't those the qualities that any leader, within or without the Church, should embrace & exercise? Thank you again & every blessing in your labours.

Precious Judith, I apologize, I should have CLARIFIED this with Scriptures below:

"The UNbelievers on the earth, AFTER we Depart (above) will have to make a choice in God's gospel of the kingdom, according to PROPHECY, to believe, worship God, and be martyred, OR, to take the 'mark of the beast,' worship him instead, and live on earth, and be Judged to suffer the Second Death. (Daniel, Matthew, And Revelation)"

Not all will have this CHOICE, ie: those of Today, who REJECT God's Precious Gospel Of

GRACE, UNbelievers who will enter The Time of Jacob's Trouble, Will be part of the following, with NO Second Chance for "a CHOICE!" = THEY WILL take the "mark":

When "THE WICKED one {man of sin, son of Perdition} is Revealed:

"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not The Love Of The Truth, that they might be saved. And for This Cause God Shall Send them Strong Delusion, that they should BELIEVE A LIE: That they ALL might be damned who believed not The Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." ( 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10) Did you notice the "Double Deception" here?

Thanks for you prayerful/careful consideration - Please Be Encouraged!!

    Brother Mishael,

    Only God can judge.

I believe God can save anyone that he pleases.at anytime that he pleases, including someone that is a sinner and NOT a christian.

After all he is God, and he can show mercy on whomever he pleases.

    Romans 9:15

"For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

    Romans 9:18

"Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth."

We can look at the thief on the cross - that is now in paradise with Jesus - to really understand how God loves us.

    God Bless

Robert you have made the first step.

    1 John 1 v 8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

v9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

v10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Precious brother Chris said: "I perceive that from your explanation of baptism history & its connection to the Baptism of John, that you also believe that today's water baptism (as prescribed by our Lord in Matthew 28:19,20) has lost its currency - that baptism by the Holy Spirit is what has been preached & given since the Church formed.

I believe there is NO water ritual {which was Previously FOR Israel}, for The Body Of CHRIST, currently, for Today - Summed Up:

Mystery/GRACE! = our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:

Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?:

Today: Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13)

Thus, it is impossible to ADD water, equalling TWO baptismS today, when God ONLY has

    ONE! Correct?

I have an Expanded "study" on God's ONE Baptism, for us, The Body Of CHRIST, Today, IF you wish to consider it, also?...

Precious brother Chris, please Be RICHLY Encouraged!

Russell Naylor Revelation 12 Woman clothed in the sun with child. This is too long for this format so look up Intercessors for America Sept. 11th The true birth date of Jesus Christ then you decide, it explains a lot. Of course there's people who believe it and some that don't but it was not Dec. 25th. Remember Herod wanted to kill the child when he heard about Him, that's to devour or destroy Him. Revelation is some past present and definitely future prophecy in very condensed language. In His Service

You must know what is the mark of the beast in order to avoid it or not to accept!

Revelation is very very clear as to what is the Mark of the Beast! It simply tells us the number and name of the beast! It says to count the number for it is the number of a

man! This man will give order to be honored and worshipped and will be called by Many God,HOLY FATHER,Vicker! Study Revelation 13 it is very clear. This is why Jesus said "IF you love me keep my commandments!!!If you truly love God than you must love TRUTH because God is TRUTH! No beating around the bush the Mark Of the Beast is Sunday worship!! It is clear in Revelation 13, Daniel throughout the Bible God talks about His holy day the Sabbath and He never changed it! Constantine did by putting many people to death who refused to keep the day of the sun ,SUNDAY and that's where Sunday worship came from. Go read history in the library, you would be shocked!!

Precious Judith: "The Bible says to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy!" = TRUE! people: "He did not say that the Sabbath is for Jews but for mankind!":

God: "Speak thou also unto the children of ISRAEL, saying, Verily my SABBATHS ye shall keep: for it is a SIGN between Me and you throughout YOUR generations; that YE may know that I AM The LORD that doth sanctify YOU." Exodus 31:13 God TO Israel:

Why are you people not being obedient to God? God said he that worship me must worship me in Spirit and truth! = TRUE, for ISRAEL, In PROPHECY!!

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From "Things That DIFFER!":

There is NO ISRAEL today, Only The Body Of CHRIST, Under GRACE, According to the preaching Of JESUS CHRIST, According to The REVELATION Of The MYSTERY (Romans - Philemon) What Does God Say TO Paul, in liberty and freedom, for the Body Of CHRIST?:

God: "Who art thou that judgest...One man esteemeth one day above another: ANOTHER ESTEEMETH EVERY DAY ALIKE. Let EVERY man BE FULLY PERSUADED in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto The LORD; and he THAT REGARDED NOT the day, TO THE LORD he doth not regard it...But WHY dost thou JUDGE thy brother?

...we shall ALL Stand before THE JUDGMENT SEAT of CHRIST.For It Is Written, As I live, Saith The LORD, every knee shall bow to ME, and every tongue shall confess to God.

So then EVERY ONE of us shall give account of himSELF TO God...Let us NOT THEREFORE JUDGE ONE ANOTHER ANY MORE:..." Please Carefully/Prayerfully Read/RE-read ALL of Romans 14:4-13

God: "Let NO man therefore JUDGE you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an HOLYDAY, or of the SABBATH days: Which are A SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of CHRIST!" Colossians 2:16-17

Thus, we DON'T JUDGE "sabbath" keepers, as we, FULLY PERSUADED with the Mind Of CHRIST, worship/REST In CHRIST, The TRUE {Sabbath} REALITY 24/7. God Is CLEAR!

Please be richly Encouraged, Exhorted, and Encouraged In CHRIST, And HIS WORD OF TRUTH, Rightly Divided!!
