  • Making Time To Study Jesus Up Close - In Reply on Leviticus 1 - 4 years ago
Myself, I keep a marker in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. Granted, Jesus was preaching to mostly farmers, fishermen, just regular people. He gave us signs to watch for.

I don't believe we can just pick and choose books to read. One way to make study easier, is to purchase a KJV Study Bible with CENTER OF EACH PAGE, COLUMN REFERENCES. With tiny alphabet letters. Those are references to more information and prophesies. Some have been fulfilled, others are being fulfilled every day.

If a little letter is in the scripture you are reading, hold your place, stop and flip over to that scripture and it will enlarge your understanding.

I get a lot more reading done if I just turn off the noise of tv for an hour. I keep a legal pad to scribble notes on it.

Sometimes I find a Bible Reader on YouTube so I can just listen (Alexander Scourby is good)

To, Bible being read out loud. God rewards us for our diligence. If something is hard to understand, just ask your Teacher (Holy Spirit please help me understand that thought).

We are always in this comment room to help each other with questions. Come by often. :)

Please go on the ALCJ website and SIGN THE PETITION NOW to force our government to not abandon Afghan Christians. Be an activist; not a pacifist. A persons life, a child, depends on us. Mishael

Christians in Afghanistan are on the brink of devastation. Women and children fear the utter brutality of Taliban rule.

    We're taking EMERGENCY action.

The Taliban is going door to door looking for Christians to kill and unmarried women to take captive. Christians are hiding in their homes fearing what the Taliban will do to them - a genocidal persecution.

President Biden has utterly failed - abandoning Afghan Christians, helpless women and children, and even U.S. citizens.

We JUST submitted an emergency video intervention for U.N. consideration. We're already preparing our next U.N. submission and records demands of the Biden Administration (which will likely lead to a lawsuit) over the abandonment of Christians.
  • When Someone Has Difficulty Reading the Bible - In Reply - 4 years ago
A person who is having much difficulty reading the Bible, may simply be helped by understanding what they received when they prayed the sinners prayer.

I learned this from 30 years of street Ministry. They "pray the prayer" with someone, but just like Nicodemas, they are confused. That's why Jesus said, "you must be BORN AGAIN to see the kingdom of heaven. John 3 That's what they need.

I've been an Evangelist most of my life. Jesus wants us to seek the lost and bring them into the kingdom. Every Ministry gift has a job to dofor the lost. 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14.

Every evangelist needs the Body to do the parts we cannot. Is there anyone in your church to carry the lambs and help them become sheep of His pasture? It's still New Testament church in 2021. Stick a bookmark in Matthew 25: 31-46

Pray to the Lord of the Harvest. He will direct your path to the right ones.

Brother ChrisE. Thank you for your in-depth, enlightening comments on the various 'baptisms'. I may be mistaken, but I perceive that from your explanation of baptism history & its connection to the Baptism of John, that you also believe that today's water baptism (as prescribed by our Lord in Matthew 28:19,20) has lost its currency - that baptism by the Holy Spirit is what has been preached & given since the Church formed. Why I assume this, is from your Points #9, 9c, c1-3.

Point 9: I don't believe the Apostle "Peter continued (After The Cross!), to preach" (John's baptism). I see that each of the baptisms were different: of the priesthood, the Jews, by John, administered to Christ, believers' baptism. As much as I can understand your connection of the various baptisms, the baptism of Jesus & then the subsequent baptism of Jesus' followers (post-Cross) are quite different. Why did the Lord volunteer to be baptized under John's baptism? He had no sin to repent of or of induction into the priesthood. If it was to "fulfil all righteousness", it indicated a different aspect to baptism that He alone could observe, fulfilling His Father's Will in preparation for the reason for His Coming.

Points 9c, c1-3: "Baptism of Repentance" is not for today. That was peculiar to John's. The baptism post-Cross is what we term 'Believers' Baptism' & this is purely in response to the Lord's Directive & to Identification with Him. Colossians 2:10-12: "Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Also Romans 6:3,4; 1 Peter 3:20,21. In this baptism, confession of sins is not made as was under John's, because there is no transmission of Grace in it, simply one of obedience & identification: going 'part & parcel' with repentance & spiritual re-birth.

But if you were referring only to those believing in baptism into the Israeli priesthood, but support 'believer's baptism', then I apologize.

Below are scriptures everyone should read and pray deeply for wisdom and understanding for. Beware of anyone trying to attack, disrespect, or demean Jesus or the name of Jesus. Jesus loves you and died for you. Scripture indicates that Jesus is God. Jesus is not God the father, but God the son. The 3 are all united as 1. There aren't 3 separate gods, there is 1 God with 3 parts as 1 John 5:7 says. We could debunk every one of the deniers' disengenuous arguments, but that would take a lot of space and most are closed off anyway. The same info is also online in countless websites. Satan loves going after any weakness he can find and people keep falling for the same tricks. Christians should simply pray about this and ask the holy spirit to either confirm or convict them on what the truth is. God bless...

    Sir Scott

When we incorporate fasting our spirits become more resilient. Our temples are cleansed our minds become more receptive to the messages that He would have us hear with our spiritual faculties. He wants us to feel those hunger pains. He wants us to understand humility in many facets of our lives. Fasting is only one way that we can draw nearer unto Him. There are other ways we can fast in our lives, giving up remedial choices that are idols placed before Him. He wants our full best robust lives sanctified lives daily walking with him. Our lives can realistically be lived without sin each and every week. When we partake of His holy emblems on the Sabbath we are completely cleansed from all sin, baptized every Sabbath day when we walk through those doors at the end of our sabbath meeting. Fasting helps us elevate our spirits nearer to His. It allows Him to facilitate His thoughts into our minds or a higher level. Go ye therefore and be even as I am. He's asking us to offer a better self unto Him. Consider a monatary offering while you are fasting, watch the windows of heaven open with blessings you won't have room to receive. He's waiting with open arms. Your body/Temple will thank you for the rest it receives while you fast also.

Leaving the safety of God's presence, we have brought unto ourselves troubles and cursing. Our enemies are before us and we are under their heavy hand because of our sins before you, Lord. We must confess, repent and fall on the mercies of God and on His grace. May we remember the blessings of old from the Lord's hand and that we may be again under the protective wings of our Lord God almighty. Bless us with your peace, and comfort. August 2021

    Rick,

Thanks for sharing that. I agree, Christ is the head of the body, and I agree that He is the bridegroom. As for the bride, when Christ comes for His bride, I see it as Him coming for His church. I see the church, the body of Christ being His bride.

Again, thanks for sharing your perspective!

What (time frame) are we in, in the Scriptures?
  • Jesse - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Rick,

Back in Genesis Chapter 37, we are told about Joseph and his brothers. If you remember the story, there were twelve brothers. And Joseph was given a dream. And he says the sun and moon and 11 stars bowed down and worshipped me.

The sun and the moon represented Joseph's parents. Jacob is head of the 12, where the 12 tribes came from, and then the twelve stars representing the 12 tribes of Israel. Eleven stars being his 11 brothers bowing down to him, the twelfth star.

So Genesis Chapter 37 is where we get the sun and the moon, and the twelve stars. This is the nation Israel. And the Messiah was prophesied to come through Israel.

This is Hebrews 13 chapter study. But there is discussion for Psalms 27 just as for Hebrews is here.

No offence but it think Psalms 27 very well explains itself. I read slowly and maybe 2-3 times and pray and think.

Children's Prayer to Say Every Day

    Every Day Prayer

He wakes me up; He makes me sleep.

Provides for me the food I eat.

When I cry, I call on Him,

Because I know with Him I win.

    Even through the hardest day,

I trust in Him in every way.

He's the One who sees me through,

Jesus lives, I know it's true.

With loving-kindness, He smiles on me.

Because He died, I am free.

Lord, for all, I thank you so,

I know you'll never let me go!

John in the dispensation of LAW spoke of "one" who is to come, whose shoe lacthet he is unworthy to unloose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost ,and fire. When Christ came he ALLOWED John to BAPTIZE Him, showing the need for REPENTANCE. John was preaching and also baptizing UNTO repentance.

Christ "the promised redeemer" commissioned that this be done in his name. By now baptizing in His name, He fulfilled it in the LAW which was the schoolmaster that could not save, BUT, through his name "Jesus" REMISSION (removal) of sins is now given.

There are TWO dispensations, LAW and GRACE. Grace abounds. He came to FULFILL the LAW and SHOW us that THROUGH HIM -GREATER things WILL and ONLY can be done (GRACE). This He did and showed his disciples(followers of Christ). (KJV Acts 2:38) Repent and be baptized..; Galatians 3:26-27.

Please note that we are now living in the dispensation of Grace. For this Christ came to set things in order and give unto men the PLAN of SALVATION

Whats is Revelation 12:1 describing possibly?
  • Carleton - In Reply - 4 years ago
Many likely have noticed that Daniel's visions help the elect of the "thy people" in earthly governments in time to reach by faith the Government established in Christ Jesus. The visions of Daniel and the prophets of old end at Christ and new visions by born again believers begin in Christ Jesus. John by Revelation like Daniel was granted visions of the gospel age, from Jesus to the end of time which are spiritual in understanding. Thus, we must be born again to understand this present Kingdom of Peace and the time that remains. It is later than many think.

Adam, Excellent! "Even children understand the concept of the Godhead or trinity- it's straight from God's word." Yes, child-like faith! They can easily see the "triune" concept all over God's Creation, Also. ie:

THREE time, space, and matter = ONE universe!

THREE proton, neutron, and electron = ONE atom!! etc, etc, etc...

Back to God's Word Of Truth:

THREE body AND soul AND spirit = ONE human ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23)!!! Amen?

Amen, And AMEN! Alex, Precious friend = Excellent!! = God, The SON!!!:

Heb 1:4 Being MADE SO MUCH BETTER than the angels, as HE hath by inheritance obtained a MORE EXCELLENT NAME than they.

Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said He at any time, THOU ARE MY SON, this day have I begotten THEE? And again, I will be to HIM A Father, and HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?

Heb 1:6 And again, when He Bringeth in The Firstbegotten into the world, He Saith, And let ALL the angels of God WORSHIP HIM.

Heb 1:7 And of the angels He Saith, Who maketh His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.
