Hello Gilberto. I think of Jesus' Words to His troubled enquiring disciples in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

This was Jesus' Promise to them & to all who would believe on Him, that His Peace would be their joyful portion, as only His Spirit could give them. With that Peace, comes a certain Rest: a Rest in the knowledge of the veracity of His Word, the full salvation by the Cross, & a life of inner peace in an uncertain & troublesome world. And this Rest that Christ gives His people has been secured & paid for by Jesus Himself; it comes to us at no cost, nor could we ever be able to purchase it by our efforts. The Jews of Jesus' day, & even now, come to God on their own merits & works, believing that God would accept them for their obedience to the Laws & observance of all the regulations & feasts. But their desire for Peace in this life & into eternity is not founded in Jesus, God's Son, the Prince of Peace, which means they would never have it.

And yet, even though Jesus paid the price for our salvation & the peace & rest that we're assured of, we are warned in Hebrews 4:11, "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief." Even though this passage speaks of that future rest for believers when all our labours & trials are over & we finally get to be with our Lord, it is clear that we can enjoy that rest & peace now which Jesus gives by virtue of His Spirit. The Jews miss out on it because of unbelief - we can enjoy it now & into the future only through faith in Jesus' Work on the Cross - and of course, without any cost to us, except to remain faithful to Him, loving Him & looking for His Coming. And all who have been touched & indwelt by His Spirit will continue to endure this life to its end, finding complete rest only in Jesus.

    Dear Latasha,

Is your boyfriend a born-again Christian? If not, his acting different could be God's way of warning you about not being unequally yoked, that is, Born again Christians should not partner with people who have not been saved. 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

If he has been saved, his acting different could several things--stressed out about something, something's bothering him about your relationship, maybe he has doubts about your being together, to name three. Plus it could still be God's sign for you to back off. Try to find out what's going on. Pray to God for discernment. He will let you know what to do in this matter.

    Greetings saints,

Please pray that I will learn to wait for God's providence by patiently denying my flesh and waiting to find a godly woman to marry. I earnestly seek a wife in the Lord. Amen.

Peace and grace abound unto you.

I am a born again Christian and was saved at 8 years old. My testimony was about when I was a teenager and one of the hardest times of my life. I was at that very pivotal time, the choices you make now will effect the rest of your life... no pressure haha.

I praise God I was raised in a loving and Christian home. However Satan caused pride and adversary (through our own will) into our home which led to my parents divorced I got very depressed and I was in a dark hole of depression that I never thought I could get out of.

Now knowing those thoughts that were entering my mind were not of God, they were of Satan. Thoughts of harming myself. I was so isolated

I did not want to come out of my room let alone live. I stopped going to church. I had innapropiate thoughts enter my mind about same the same sex. Those thoughts were not of God I was living in sin. I did not know my own worth. Now knowing we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

I never told anyone the thoughts I was having. One night my dad told me, "You know if you were a lesbian I would still love you." I did not want to have those lesbian thoughts in my head. They were not of God but when I heard my God loving Father say that I felt God's Grace and truth and love. I could feel my eyes swelling up with tears.. And through repentance I was healed. I prayed and prayed. The Bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you and yes he did!

Do not fall prey to the thoughts of Satan, that will rid you of the Joy and Blessings that God has for you!

The closer you are to God the further you are from the Devil. I never thought I would live to the age I am now. God has blessed our family, I have a wonderful husband and we have 2 beautiful children. Trust and obey, have Faith in God, and it will all work out! God Bless you, I hope my testimony will be a blessing to you!

If you have questions about the unicorn, the latin vulgate version the term is "rinocercos" coming from the hebrew "ra'am". A male rhino is called a bull. Things that were common knowledge 400 years ago are not today. Does anyone here know how to thresh wheat? language evolves and Satan uses that to obscure truth. If you had never seen a rhino before whay would you describe it as? And yes the african rhnio has two horns but the indian rhino had one. It was hunted to extinction like the dodo bird. If Satan can raise a little doubt by changing the meaning of a single word how many people you think have dismissed the bible as supernatural folklore because of word play and lack of understanding? Like the game telephone. You have to have a sharp memory and study to pass down oral tradition or write it down.

Why do you ask such a question dear sister? 1 Corintians 14.14

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

What we see in churches today can not be the same! And on pentecost when the Holy Ghost was spilled over men. All languages was too hear in Jerusalem. Becouse Jesus died, and stand up from dead. And go thru the hevens, the earth, the under earth and now these dayes. He is the Only One King forever.

2 Corintians 5.17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

But is it a good thing too speak in tongues, and it is secrets with God.

1 Chorintians 14.2. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

So in churches today when ppl who shouts out word that no one understand. Its more like that ppl who dont see Jesus jet. Get fear instead of peace, unfortunately and do a lot of harm in the society. Thats why we need order. We are free too do anything but not everything fits.

1 Chorintians 6.12. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

    More} 1 Chorintians 14 4

    1 Chorintians 14.12

    1 Chorintians 14.17

Ill thank Jesus Christ too have this humbly understanding and give Him all the glory. Never forget that we all are body of Christ. And He is the Head. God bless you and yours.

    Amen Arnita.

Christ Came for the Sinner to die on the Cross.

Mark 2:17 (KJV) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

    God bless.

    Dianne,

I really wish I had known that you spoke in tongues before I responded to your request. If I had known before hand, I probably would not have responded. Right now I am feeling as though I took the bait.

Nevertheless, I responded to what you asked for, my understanding of scripture on speaking in tongues. I did not share my full understanding, and now I'm glad I didn't.

You've responded 4 times to my post and there are some things you said that spark my interest, and yet I'm not sure how to respond without you feeling as though I'm trying to argue, so it's probably best that I stay away from this one.

But just so you know, I think no differently of you because you speak in tongues. You are always respectful and I value our relationship in Christ.
  • Chris - In Reply - 4 years ago
Thank you Steph for sharing that. I do agree that one could look at that verse in the way you suggest, even citing proof of the ever-decreasing years that each one of us has to live. Also considering Psalm 90:10, "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."

However, in Genesis 6:1-7, the compelling message here is of God's great displeasure in the ever increasing wickedness of man & that God had subsequently set a time limit when the righteous would escape & the unrepentant sinner would perish. "My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh", seems to indicate that God's Spirit would no longer contend with man in the flesh, but to deal with his spirit in that appointed day. That is, there needs to be a destruction of the flesh so that the spirit might be released for judgement. We can see an allusion to this in the NT: 1 Corinthians 5:5, "To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus", as Paul had to deal with fornication in the Church, which the Church failed to do. Destruction of the flesh here certainly meant suffering, possibly death, & that the sinning soul would be excommunicated & face certain personal calamities or else he comes to his senses, repents, be restored into fellowship, that his spirit might yet be saved.

Even though the sinner in 1 Corinthians was given time to repent, though if he refused, his days would be shortened because of suffering & death (also 1 Corinthians 11:29,30). Likewise, God had allotted mankind 120 years of life, under the testimony & preaching of Noah ( 2 Peter 2:5) as God's Anger reached its limit with them, but Noah's testimony was rejected resulting in both the destruction of the flesh & their spirits held captive awaiting judgement.

    Toxic,

Many believe in the seven years at the end times. Those seven years are taken from the seventy-week prophecy given to Daniel. My advice is to study.

    .

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

Seven weeks + threescore and two weeks = 69 weeks this is when Messiah (Jesus) first comes, when He is baptized. The next verse tells us the Messiah is cut off (crucified) after 62 weeks, this was when the restoration and repairing of the walls, streets, and gates of the city of Jerusalem by Ezra and Nehemiah ( Nehemiah 2:8-17; 4:17). Troublous times when their enemies tried to stop the building ( Nehemiah 4:7) the first 7 weeks. We know Jesus' ministry was 3.5 years.

This is 3.5 years past 69 weeks so that puts Jesus' crucifixion in the middle of the seventieth week.

I posted a 3-part post on this a few weeks past may you can pull it up and may it help you study this. Not all of Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, what Jesus is saying is about end times.

Jesus did cover part about end times but some was telling His Apostles which we see in Mark there were only four, what they were going to have to face before the destruction of the temple. What Jesus said at first before they ask Him, not one stone would be left on top of another.

There was much of what Jesus said happened before the temple was destroyed, Wars, earthquakes, famines, false prophets, check out Simon in Acts 8, and there were more. The apostles were put in prison, beaten, and killed.

The main fact, if sixty-nine and one-half weeks is shown in scripture that has already past, you cannot put a full week at end times.

S Spencer Something interesting about noahs time, can you imagine how many people were mocking him and thought he was nuts for telling them its going to rain and flood they must have thought he was crazy. The reason is because before that time it never rained on the face of the earth. Just things I think about also the word of God Says God closed the Ark and I'll bet when Crap hit the fan nobody could open it, I think the people were so wicked that if they would have gotten on the ark Noahs family would have been history.

    Toxic,

Number one and number three in my previous post should both say three and one-half years. This has happened to me before where I've typed in the correct number but when I hit the submit button, it changes what I typed. But anyway, this seven year period is divided into two three and a half year periods. The entire seven years is known as the tribulation period. The last three and a half years are known as the Great Tribulation.

TNT take this into consideration those two were the only two people on this planet and they lived in a perfect environment, were only given one commandment and didn't focus learn listen adhere remember. They lost focus on what God told them. Our five senses heads do the same thing, from time to time, If you choose to read Romans 7:14-21 very insightful. With Adam and Eve I don't dwell on where there heads were but learn where to keep mine. God Bless

I would like for you to make a new confession about yourself. You are born again ( John 3). You have the Holy Spirit inside of you. Now here is one more to confess, out loud, every time something comes up.

    1 Corinthians 2:16

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But WE HAVE the mind of Christ.

    Philippians 2:5

Let THIS MIND BE IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus:

If your relationship with the Holy Spirit is the power driving in your life? You are no longer limited in what you can learn.

Read your Bible. If you don't have one, go on Google and type in "KJV Bible in your language that you prefer".

Ask the Holy Spirit FIRST, what you've read and what it means. Listen for His answer. If he gives you a scripture, write it down.

You have the ability to understand everything.

The "Let Us", or the Godhead speaking together. I have all these underlined in my Bible.

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

    [ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]
