  • Tim Kane on John 10 - 4 years ago
The difference in the Gospel of John from the gnostic Gospels used to bother me. I saw it as more fanciful. But these days I have been viewing it, in part, as a letter to Muslims, to address their issues, written 500 years before Mohammed preached Islam (according to the standard Islamic narrative of Mohammed's biography). This springs out at you in the very first verse, of the very first chapter - which is written in terms that seem out of place but a Muslim would immediately grasp: "In the beginning was the Word,..." and later in verse 14 comes the kicker, "...and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...."

Most Muslims are programmed to ask: "where in the Gospels does Jesus say 'I am God, worship me.'" (Islam emphasizes the majesty of God and that humans should make themselves slaves of God.) The Gospels of John address these concerns most directly, but Jesus, in John 15:15 addresses the nature of our relationship to God, we are no longer servants, but made friends with God. We are to have an intimate relationship with him.

But, in John 10:10, Jesus, compared himself directly with Mohammed. You see Mohammed started his career as a warlord first as a caravan robber, a thief. Western Civilization is based upon Christ's teachings (and a few of his commandments) among them are: separation of church and state, search for truth, value truth, avoid falsehood, freedom to search for truth, exercise of that freedom (the theology is worked out in the parable of the Prodigal Son), love and forgiveness. For people living in the West, these principles have given us a more abundant and full life - what a gift!

Today almost no Christian, living in the West, aspires to live in a Muslim majority country, but almost all Muslims living in a Muslim majority country aspire to live in the west. Islam threatened/encroached Western Civilization for about 1000 years. In that time about half of Christendom was lost to Islam. Today the West walks on the moon, Islam not so much.

  • David Wilson on Psalms 41 - 4 years ago
I recently left the church, I have attended for many years, to attend the Church where my wife attends so that we may worship together. She had left the original Church for personal reasons and will not return. I did not talk with the Pastor about my leaving but did speak with the Head Deacon of the Church about this matter. On Sunday the Pastor mentioned my leaving, not by name, but did use the Psalm 41 passage as a reference. I am not his enemy but this is the impression I received from him with this reading. I am not leaving GOD'S house just moving on the way I feel the Lord is leading me to go. Appreciate your input.

    OCEAS,

I am self taught from KJV. Every time I get curious I look how the internet interprets prophesy, and I have to laugh, dignity never been photographed. Going into the valley of dry bone dreams. I'm hooked on the resurrection doctrine ( Ezekiel 37:1-14).

Everyone with an opinion should say as they wish about the future; we should have a day(s) where we can guess what the hell is going on. Do current events ascribe to end-time Biblical events? No honest answer is wrong, dialog is the aim.

  • How to Find The Rapture in The Bible - 4 years ago
Use the SEARCH BOX when you enter this website. Type in 'Caught up in the Clouds' and you will see ALL scriptures that describe this Timing. Click on that link to read the chapter.

Or, just search "In the Clouds"

You are all right. If you search the word, Rapture, that word is NOT in the Bible. However, the event s in the Bible.

You can also Google: Caught Up, Bible

And see a lot of teachings on it. Just like in here.

Main thing is to use The KJV words, if that is your preferrence.

Hello, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 clearly says Jesus will come and people will be caught up with Him in the air. That's what the Bible says, whether someone wants to deny it or believe it.

It appears some are trying discredit the Word of God for some unknown reason. Have you prayed about this? Why do you not believe 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and why do you call something in the Bible just a 'theory'?

The same old logical fallacy that a word isn't in the Bible therefore something isn't true has been debunked countless times, but we can do that again. The word "Bible" isn't in the Bible either, so does that mean the Bible isn't the Bible? Using the same fallacy, the letter J didn't exist in the English language hundreds of years ago, so does that mean Jerusalem, Jews, and even Jesus didn't exist?

The Bible didn't mention for years whether Jesus ate food. Does that mean he was starving to death?

The Bible never used any words to describe if Jesus ever took a bath. Does that mean He never did?

The word 'bathroom' or 'restroom' or 'toilet' isn't even in the Bible, so does that automatically mean no one ever went to the 'bathroom' ever, including Jesus?

I think those are enough examples to debunk the already debunked claim that the word ____ isn't in the Bible therefore something isn't true. Pray and ask God with an open heart for wisdom and truth as we read the Bible.

First of all, the word rapture doesn't exist in bible scripture! What makes us better then Jesus? He suffered for us! We will be here in flesh until the very end. First anrichrist will come saying he is god. Some of us will face him and his bad angels. Read all of Revelation= " to reveal". There is scripture saying God is against this so called fly away doctrine= "Rapture theories! If we are in front of antichrist; we are not to think about what we will say. God will speak threw you. These fallen spirits will freak out. Yes, he will come back with 144,000 of the tribes of Israel, those that once were alive themselves. Some of us are from the 12 tribes and still living in flesh. I will find the scripture against the fly away doctrine, and get back to you quickly!

Sister Sacha, they are cherubim. But are cherubim literal, or do they represent something. Are the four creatures before the throne in Revelation literal, or do they represent something. Are the twenty four elders in Revelation literal, or do the represent something. Is the lamb in Revelation literal, or does it represent something. Is the tree in Revelation literal or does it represent something. When Jesus was taken to the top of the mountain and shown all the kingdoms of the world, was it literal (is there literally a mountain on earth tall enough to see everything on earth, no, it represents something.

The kingdom of God is like a HIDDEN treasure, it's SPIRIT. HIDDEN

We are searching out the HIDDEN

You are BORN AGAIN BY THE WORD OF GOD

This searching and digging is what leads us to TRUTH; one spoonful at a time, like a baby being fed.

    Cynthia,

Neither Enoch nor Elijah saw death before God took them. They were taken from this earth before seeing death, the same way that we (Born again believers) who are alive will be taken when Christ comes for His church. We will be taken the same way God took Enoch and Elijah. Could these possibly be the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation chapter 11? The bible does not tell us the names of the two witnesses but it seems to fit. Why God took them, we are unsure. But I would have to believe that these two men were truly faithful to God in all their ways!

Hey Jesse Dianne one important point individuals miiss either its all Gods Word or its not, 2 Timothy 3:16+17, because in 2 Peter 1:20+21 Holy men spoke what holy spirit told them, i.e. Spirit From true God. To me John 12:44-50, also in psalms it states the Words of the lord are pure words, in Gospel of John Jesus Christ said He taught the disciples His fathers Words which are always true. Love this Stuff.

    Greetings!

verse 24 says that Enoch walked with mean God took him so why is the answer to question also stating that Eliajah was taking up to do that mean he never seen death on earth too?
  • Jesse - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Gertrude,

Sorry to intrude on your conversation, but if you don't mind me asking, I have a few questions. Are you saying that those who believe in a rapture are fanatics and are cheating Hebrews 9:27? Secondly, if 1 Thessalonians 4:17 is written so poorly and in conflict with other scripture, how would you re-write that verse? If scripture is in conflict with other scripture, why should we even trust the bible at all? Are there other conflicting scriptures that you are aware of? I've had someone tell me before that the bible is full of contradictions. I don't agree with that. You say that both resurrections are conflated? How so? Also, are you saying that Jesus' bride consists of only 144K? If I'm not mistaken, the Jehovah's Witnesses teach that. Is that your belief also? Lastly, do you believe in a rapture at all?

Sorry if this is a lot of questions, and I want to thank you in advance for your time!

My Lord JESUS said: "Satan was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the Truth, because there is no Truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:v.44

I must say that her contact in heaven in accord your belief, it is only and only WITH THE MONSTRUOS red Dragon, having 7 heads, and 10 horns, and a TERRIBLE tail, that is that old serpent called the Devil and Satan. But now, he will be cast down to the earth, and no doubt she will never need to do her travel no more.

Know that no LIE is (or comes from) of the Truth. 1John 2:v.18
  • LEON DAVIS concerning Malachi 45 - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Norman, God's word states that Enoch did "not see death" ( Heb. 11:5) and that Melchisedec did not have an "end of life" ( Heb. 7:3); therefore, contrary to your statement, neither man died. Also, it is overwhelmingly agreed upon by an endless list of Protestant and Jewish commentators (i.e. Matthew Henry, Jewish Virtual Library, etc.) that 2 Kings 2:11 refers to Elijah being taken bodily into heaven.

Christ plainly stated and confirmed a second time that John the Baptist was Elijah, and that he was the fulfillment of Malachi 4:5 ( Matt. 11:11-14; 17:10-13). Christ made clear, straightforward statements which must be accepted as truth. Also, the phrase "in the order of" is only applicable to priests ( Ps. 110:4), not prophets.

    Thank you for the response.

JLb Be very careful concerning prophecy, that which is telling the future, if it does not happen verbatim as stated by the individual that should be a red flag. Also prophecy in a given specific situation will be specific to that situation, the prophets in the old testament were known because what they said happened exactly as God showed them no exception if you like I can give scripture references.

Oseas consider this John 4:24, Gen 1: 26+27, lost spiritual connection after Gen.3:1-6, they did not physically die they spiritually lost connection to God. Before that time Adam had all dominion and power, gave it to Luke 4:5+6. Bought back by Jesus Christ Jn. 10:9+10. Adversary the thief, steel kill and destroy. Some things to consider by scripture in context to subject matter.

I agree. What you said is TRUE. John, the Apostle, in his third espistle, said: 3John 1:v.2-4

2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

And Paul Apostle said: 2 Cor.13:v.8 - We can do nothing against the Truth, but for the Truth.

GOD is the Truth. The Word is GOD.

Again: Isaiah prophesied: Isaiah 28:v. 16-22

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the REFUGE OF LIES, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken:but on whomsoever it shall fall,it will grind him to powder. Mat.21:44

Richard its your priviledge to believe that, but Thessalonians is written to the church of God the body of Christ in the age of grace which has nothing to do with the 144,000. The resurrection pf the Body of Christ His church pertains to all born again in this the age of Grace. Take a close look at Colossians, Ephesians , and Thessalonians, for added info.

    Dear Ash,

    1. Pray as long as it takes for the scales to fall away from their blinded eyes. Psalms 146:8 "The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous."

    2. Pray for God to remove whatever Satan is doing to influence their blindness toward needing Christ as savior. 2 Corinthians 4:4 "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

    3. Tell them about Jesus Christ or, if you cannot reach them, pray for God will send someone to them who can. A good example: God told the apostle Phillip to go to the desert of Gaza. Once there, he saw a man sitting in a chariot. God led Phillip to tell the man about Jesus Christ, and the man was saved and baptised. Acts 8:26-39.
