    Hello Mishael,

If I may share with you what I've learned about the phrase "God Speed." It is only used in Second John verses 10-11 as far as I know. Now in second John, it talks about deceivers and false teachers that were corrupting the church.

It says in Verse 9 that whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God, Does not have God! A person is called a transgressor that's going beyond. The Gnostics went beyond the teachings of Jesus Christ, or the doctrine of Christ.

And they went beyond the teachings of the apostles. They did not remain in the doctrine of Christ, but they went in another direction. And John says they do not have God. And then it says "He that abides, and that's a Present Participle, meaning the one who is abiding continuously in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. Uh oh! The Gnostics don't believe the Father and the Son go together, or as one. Here we go again!

But as far as this phrase "God Speed," it means do not speak greetings. If someone comes knocking on your door trying to share the "gospel" with you, and you know it is false, you are not to let them in your home.

Verse 11 gives us the reason. It says, "For he that bids him God speed, or greetings, is partaker of his evil deeds." That sounds pretty harsh and we might ask how is that showing love? But if love is not associated with the truth, it is not God's love, and we're deceiving ourselves.

So if someone comes to my door and is bringing false doctrine, I can't even say "Good luck." I can't even say "Greetings anyway." Some people would do that and say I can't let you in my house because of your false doctrine, and they feel really bad about it, and they at least say "God bless you today as you go on your journey!

John says even if you say that, you are a partaker of their evil work. The word partaker is the word KOINONIA which means fellowship. You're fellowshiping with their evil works. Now that's pretty heavy!

Hello Amy. In 1 Corinthians chapter 10 & particularly verses 1 to 12, Paul is warning the Corinthians about their behaviour, using the examples set before them in the Scriptures about God's view on sin & punishment. As the children of Israel suffered under God's Hand in the wilderness, or as they were about to be wiped out at the foot of Mt. Sinai (except for the pleading of Moses to God), or when they committed whoredoms & sacrificed to idols in Moab, & also complained & murmured against God & Moses in the wilderness, all these accounts were reminders to the Church about their bad behaviour.

So, the people mentioned in 1 Corinthians 10:8 were the children of Israel who practised fornication & idolatry under the influence of the gentile pagans ( Numbers 25:1-9). The 23 thousand as quoted by Paul, was actually 24 thousand (in Numbers) as Numbers records the extra thousand killed by the judges (verse 5). The 23 thousand died of the plague that God sent (verses 3 & 6: the weeping of repentance & for the plague that they were suffering).

Therefore, Paul's message & warnings were not about Christians suffering under the Law (for the OT Law has no application to believers in Christ), but about setting examples that we are to learn from as God still doesn't overlook sin because of Calvary. Christ's Sacrifice made atonement for our sins (to satisfy God's Holy requirements & be the basis to forgive sin & to grant us forgiveness & purge our evil consciences), but is never a licence to sin. The Corinthians still had elements of licentious behaviour, as was the society & city they lived in, & Paul had to be very stern with them. And the example to them at the Lord's Table becomes relevant to them & us: 1 Corinthians 11:30, "For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep"; when we wilfully sin, we can expect warning & punishment. Sometimes (not always), our sicknesses & intimely deaths may be God's message to the Church that all is not well. Every blessing.

    Amy

That's from Numbers Chapter 25 Verses 1 and 9. The Moabites sent out the women to seduce the Israelites to cause them to sin. And when they sinned, 23,000 were slain.

It's interesting because if you look at Numbers 25:9, it says twenty-four thousand died in the plague, but in 1 Corinthians 10:8, Paul says twenty-three thousand. If you have access to some commentaries, there are some explanations on the number difference. The two I looked at, (Barnes and Clarke) were interesting.

Anyway, where it says "as some of them committed" in 1 Corinthians 10:8, it is referring to those people in Numbers chapter 25 who were involved in Baal worship.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 10, if you start at Verse 6, Paul is saying that if we study about how God dealt with the children of Israel through their physical circumstances, we can gain a spiritual example for us. It says to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Literally in the Greek text, it's not a verb. It's actually a noun, "To the intent that we should not become lusters of evil things as they also lusted."

And then Paul lists four things that are characteristics of the lusters: Do not be an idolater, do not commit fornication, do not tempt Christ, and do not murmur. Now that last one is interesting. That's the word complain. And since none of us ever do any of that, we don't have to worry about it, right?

Neither murmur as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer. That phrase "the destroyer" at the end of Verse 10 is the same word for the angel of death that passed over Egypt and killed the firstborn of the Egyptians. So he says don't complain!

You see, every time we complain about anything, we're saying that God's will and what he's doing is wrong. He's in charge of everything. So I'm complaining against Him because that's the way He has it. We have to be careful!

    Hope this helps you some!

I have wanted to be able to fast my whole life, but have never

yet been able to let go of attachment to food. I bless everyone

who fasts! Mishael I'm so happy the Lord is tarrying so I can

hear your words. Whatever I pray for, personally, these days,

the only thing coming back is God's mercy. I am more and more

blown away by His mercy toward me.... My past mistakes, like

dirty rags, He just looks upon with such compassion, and now

I do too. My little efforts at poetry, songs to God, what stammerings!

But He looks upon them with such love, like a Father would look at

the first words of his little child. Today I was enjoying myself

in a local Cafe, a coffee, almond pastry, and Watchman Nee.

Why do I need such special treatment! I could be a spiritual

warrior! A Spiritual athlete! but He just smiled and smiled,

and I had a really nice time with Him. I am 60 years old and

running every morning at 5 a.m., rain or shine, watching the sun

rise up over the mountain. What unspeakable beauty.!.. I just

ran my first race.... (his mercy endureth forever).

  • Mishael - In Reply on Philippians 3:2 - 4 years ago
Are you using a King James Bible?

I'm generally responding to other people's posts, which I enjoy very much. I don't care for controversy as a rule. I'm an old evangelist who can't seem to retire yet. I try to interest others to speak their faith to others while the Lord tarries a little more. I think that's what this forum is about. That, and just answering questions.

You learn stuff on the sidewalks of life. If I ran into you, I would think you are not ready to hear the Good News.

I've been fasting all day, the sun is setting and I'm off to quiet the grumbling in my middle :D

My cat is holding a vigil over her bowl too. I will see everyone tomorrow. God speed. (I've never known what that really means, do you?

It is possible I read your comment incorrectly. Are you a born-again believer, doing battle with the devil, and shouting obscenities? Are you casting out demons in the name of Jesus? Or is your way of doing "battle" purely fleshly? Say some more, in case I'm wrong.... Sorting out your lifetimes / super-ego changing past events . . . . sounds New Agey brother. Victory is in the finished work of Christ on the Cross (resulting in our peace) not in shouting obscenities

and being overtaken by our dominant thoughts.

Hi Roy, blessings and peace to you in the Lord Jesus Christ. . . . A scripture that Mishael used recently comes to mind: Philippians 3:3 "For we are the circumcision which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." In Christ, anxiety is not sweet, it is mental flesh.... nightmares are to be cast out, and obscenities are from Satan's mouth. What are you talking about? We are to test the spirits. The Holy Spirit always speaks Peace: Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you.

Jesus's birth is told in Matthew and Luke. TowRds the End of the Gospel accounts, AFTER Jesus's resurrection, he is witnessed by 500 people from town.

There are passages that cover the time between resurrection and the Day of Ascension into heaven; and Jesus was with his disciples (THE CHURCH). They are told to tarry for the Day of Pentecost (50 days).

On Pentecost they receive the in dwelling of the Spirit of Christ: the Holy Spirit. Not only they were filled with the Holy Spirit, but the towns people rejoiced also, bearing witness to the event.

The Book of Acts is the going forth of the Church.

The Disciples (now Apostles) were The Church. Their first act was to replace Judas (who committed suicide), which they did in the permissive will of God. Later, Paul would be the 12th Apostle, appointed by Jesus himself to evangelize the Gentiles.

    1. Do a house cleanse remove all pornography , items of witchcraft including Harry potter, horror movies, any Dragon ornaments any non Christian artifacts. Also any gifts given by person who you may be suspect is the source. Try avoiding the person you suspect were possible and remove them from your social media. ( better still remove all your pictures from social media)

    2. Study the amour of God and go to a deliverance church if possible and speak to a minister to be delivered. Do a confession of faith , wash bed sheets regularly and pillows. Read the Lords prayed before sleeping . Open Windows to get fresh air into the house. Try salt water baths. Place little sauces of salt in each room which you will need to replace every 2 days.

    3. Refrain from drugs, alcohol, watching the news, porn, masterbation, meeting negative people. Avoid getting into arguments over nothing, be more tolerant of other people's mistakes. Make sure you do not eat food given by the person you suspect or if offered in your dreams.

4, wear clean or aired clothes each day were possible. Go on you tube for deliverance prayers. Start to read the bible or listen to it.

    5. Watch spiritual warfare videos on YouTube. Also rearrange the furniture in you home every few days. Really confuses the spririts .

I hope these steps help, complete as many as possible.
  • Where is the Ark of the Lord - In Reply on 1 Chronicles 22 - 4 years ago
    1 Samuel 5

1 After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

2 Then they carried the ark into Dagon's temple and set it beside Dagon.

3 When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! They took Dagon and put him back in his place.

4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained.

5 That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon's temple at Ashdod step on the threshold.

6 The LORD's hand was heavy upon the people of Ashdod and its vicinity; he brought devastation upon them and afflicted them with tumors.

7 When the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, "The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us.

8 So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked them, "What shall we do with the ark of the god of Israel?" They answered, "Have the ark of the god of Israel moved to Gath." So it was moved to Israel.

9 But after they had moved it, the LORD's hand was against THAT city, throwing it into a great panic. He afflicted the people of the city, both young and old, with an outbreak of tumors.

10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. As the ark of God was entering Ekron, the people of Ekron cried out, "They have brought the ark of the god of Israel around to kill us and our people.

11 So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and said, "Send the ark of the god of Israel away; let it go back to its own place, or it will kill us and our people. For death had filled the city with panic; God's hand was very heavy upon it.

Babylonians sacked Jerusalem. The Ark had found its way to Ethiopia, where it still resides in the town of Aksum, in the St. Mary of Zion cathedral.

    It's not on display.
  • Pursuing Jesus in Scripture clears the reflection - In Reply - 4 years ago
    1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Paul now describes this partial knowledge of God as seeing a reflection in a dim mirror. Some scholars suggest that he had in mind Corinth's famous bronze mirrors, known for their imperfect reflections. After the coming of Christ, when the church is fully mature as He is, however, we will see God face to face, knowing Him in person instead of through partial revelation.

In fact, Paul adds, we will know God and His ways then as He knows us now. God, of course, is never limited in His knowledge. He knows everything there is to know about us, even what we do not see or understand about ourselves. In that day, when God comes to live among us ( Revelation 21:1-5), we will know fully, as He knows us fully in this moment now.

  • Jesus Breathed on his disciples before Pentecost - In Reply on John 20 - 4 years ago
    John 20

21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Breath is often a picture of the Spirit (in fact, the Hebrew word for Spirit is also the word for breath), so Jesus"breathed"on the men while He was standing with them in His physical presenceto indicate what He was preparing to do later by theSpirit. Therefore, Jesus was not imparting theSpirit tothem in John 20 in any real sense. He was promising to do so later at Pentecost.

We can be anointed for tasks unto the Lord. As in Matthew 26:37-46. The Body of Christ is Jesus's feet, his hands, his mouth, his Words. His heat is MERCY.

I oft compare evangelizing to swimming. It's almost 4th of July :) Some people walk in up to their ankles, not sure they have Jesus with them. Some get in up to the knees boldly, but don't want to get their clothes wet. Then people like me, jump in the deep, get soaked and splash Jesus on everybody. When He anoints you, He's working through you. If you remember how you came to believe; you know enough to tell someone else.

If you ask any Pastor, only about 20% of the congregation are tithing. It's hard for me to find Christian bookstores where I live, so I don't mind perusing through books and pamphlets on my way to the parking lot. I may buy some that are good handouts for impromptu evangelistic opportunities that come up.

If we're praying to the Lord of the Harvest, to send workers into the harvest; sometimes that's us :D One of my attention grabbers is "Whatcha Got?" I know, it's lame but my face is funny.

    Psalms 104:4

Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

    Luke 4:10

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

    Matthew 26:53

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

    Hebrews 13:2

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

    Luke 4:10

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

    Psalms 91:11

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

    Job 34:16

If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

Acts 27:23 - For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Psalms 91:1-16 - He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Read More...)

    2 Kings 6:17

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

    Mishael=they were angels.

If you need assistance, healing or protection; pray directly to God, in Jesus name, and ask God for angelic help through the trial. We cannot order the angels ourselves, nor can we worship them ever.

*they hearken to the spoken word of God; they enjoy praise and worship music and singing to the Lord.

If your home is dark with spiritual warfare? this is how to shine in the light of Gods love.

Has anyone else had experience with the ministry of angels in the believers life?

I had one save my life actually more than once.

    Praise God!

    Prayer for Healing

I pray against sickness in my coming and going. I pray against any form of sickness coming near me, my family, or near my vicinity. I claim my healing against: (speak your disease out now) in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I declare by the power and authority of the Holy Ghost, that no illness, spirit of infirmity or sickness attack from the enemy shall prevail against me in Jesus's mighty name. I am covered by the Blood of Jesus.

I confess Jesus Christ as my infinite Healer, and by His holy stripes and mighty authority, I declare that I am totally healed from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.I render every satanic attack against me bound up and cast out by the Name of Jesus! every spiritual foundation of sickness, and I command every infirmities spirit to bow down right now to the authority that is in the name of Jesus Christ. Go into outer darkness. Do not return in Jesus of Nazareth name!

I say with confidence that I am the healed of the LORD Jesus Christ. I cover myself and family with Christ's precious holy blood of Jesus and I declare by His holy might and righteousness, dominion and authority that it shall continue to be well with me and my family in all dominion, and dimensional realms.

I forbid by the authority of the Holy Ghost any reoccurrence of sickness in my life. I claim immunity for me and for my family against every form of sicknesses with the atonement blood of Jesus Christ. I declare that we carry the mark of Christ Jesus; therefore, let no infirmities spirits ever trouble us!

In Jesus of Nazareth holy name and by His righteous authority I have decreed and declared! I stand in faith. Amen.

Do not listen to the lies of Doubt. It's not anything we do right, to be healed. It is solely your trust in what Jesus says.

Jesus's Blood sacrifice is more lethal than anything satan is using. Preface healing scriptures with: IT IS WRITTEN...(speak scripture)

Beware of dogs... Dogs? Who are them?

JESUS said: Revelation 22:v.12 and 15

12 Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

15 For without are DOGS, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

But who are these dogs among us? The answer is in Isaiah 56:v. 8-11

8 The Lord God, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb DOGS, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are SHEPHERDS that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

And the TAIL of the red Dragon? Who are them?

The Word of GOD reveals who are them.
