Quote: "The Law and the Prophets

The 2 witnesses (against us and for us) has always been:

The LAW and the PROPHETS. GOD'S WORD."

GOD's Word is not only "The LAW and the PROPHETS". But above of the Dispensation of the Law and Prophets - Old Testament - GOD established the New Testament through JESUS Christ bringing salvation for the lost Jews under the Law and Prophets and for the Gentiles without Law. Romans 2:v.14

Peter the Apostle wrote in his universal epistle: 1 Pe.1:v.3 to12

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the APPEARING of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

10 Of which SALVATION THE PROPHETS have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST WHICH WAS IN THEM did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the GOSPEL unto you with the Holy SPIRIT sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

    Lex,

I believe that a person who belongs to Christ can temporarily stray from following Him but I don't believe that a true born-again believer can stay away for very long before God's Spirit in that person convicts them and brings them back. A Christian is saved by grace. We are under God's grace.

I've been where you're at, feeling distant from God. Even as a born-again believer, I've been there. I know what it feels like. Yes, it is scary! I've even questioned my own salvation in the past. I want to ask you a personal question. Have you been born of God's Spirit? Please understand that the feelings you are having are more than likely God's Spirit working in your life and drawing you to Him.

Also, I would be more than happy to look over the "many warnings" you mention, and if the Lord leads you in this direction, I would also be happy to study those verses with you. A fellow believer's spiritual welfare is most important to me. It not that a brother or sister believes the same as I do that matters much to me. What matters to me is their spiritual well-being. That's what means the most to me. I do not claim to know everything but I can share with you my experiences and what understanding I might have, however much that may be.

3 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

UNTIL you put your faith firmly in Jesus; satan is going to toss your faith every time he's a little bored.

A garnished house, is supposed to be FILLED with Bible Scriptures. Jesus fought Satan with:

"It is written:".. and then Jesus fired off a scripture. He BEAT Satan cleanly. At the Cross, Jesus stomped on Satans head. He's a viper!!!

Everyone that says he's human-ish and covered in jewels, hasn't read everything yet.

You don't have anything inside of you. Satan just wants to hurt God, by stealing your soul. He's a soul hunter. We don't beg, and beg and beg, if you're hoping for an angel to speak audibly that you're saved? Not going to happen.

You are saved by your FAITH. Saved by what God says about himself. Saved by what Jesus did on the Cross.

Be Born Again. John 3. Ask the Holy Spirit to come inside of you and make His abode within you. He will turn the power on for your brand new spirit.

    Acts 19:19

Get every wicked thing out of your home: books, mags, porn sites on the computer, music that makes your body do things; feel turned on, depressed, violent, hopeless etc. Get rid of anything the Holy Spirit shows you that it's cursed. Drugs, alcohol, weed. Burn it.

Put your Bible on the table and eat regularly. Daily, New Testament and Psalm 51. We must stop sleeping around with other beliefs, lifestyles. Noah couldn't get anyone saved because they were all listening to the ungodly voices of this world system.

    Brother Spencer,

I also used to think that James 1:5 meant that if I was having difficulty understanding God's word that I could ask Him for wisdom in understanding. I've since come to realize that's not what it means. Wisdom is gained through enduring our trials by faith. By His Spirit, we can perceive God and His working in our circumstances. That's wisdom, seeing life as God sees life. Now how am I going to do that? By experiencing Him, and by enduring and totally trusting the Lord Jesus Christ!

And so when he says if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God, we have to be careful. If we say "I would really like to have God's wisdom," okay, but we're going to have to go through a lot of trials.

My personal definition of wisdom that actually summarizes its application in the New Testament is that wisdom is seeing life as God sees life. It's like looking through His eyes. 1 Corinthians 2:16 has a big role in this, in that we have been given the mind of Christ. That's the word NOUS, which means perceptive.

By His Spirit, we can perceive God and His working in our circumstances. That's wisdom, seeing life as God sees life. Now how am I going to do that? By experiencing Him, and by enduring and totally trusting the Lord Jesus Christ!

He says God gives to all liberally, and He upbraids not, that is to say, He will not chide you. If you lack wisdom and you ask Him, He's not going to say "Are you kidding? I'm not going to give you wisdom!" And it shall be given to him. You see, there's a promise there. But it's not the promise that we think. If we isolate Verse 5, it shows that God gives wisdom generously.

Well, He does. Except it's through Verses 1 through 4. It's through trials that He gives.

Saint Michael wrote; "If according to the Old Testament God the Father created evil, then does it not follow that a part of God's nature contains evilness?"

The appearance of evil ocurred in consequence of the disobedience of the Cherub and of the all angels that follow him.

    Ezekiel 28:v.14 to 19

14 Thou art the anointed Cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the Holy Mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast PERFECT in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till INIQUITY was found in thee.

16 ... and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as PROFANE out of the Mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering Cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast CORRUPTED thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes(reduced the Cherub to Devil) ,upon the EARTH in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the PEOPLE shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a TERROR,and never shalt thou be any more.

    Jude 1:v.6-7

6 And the ANGELS which kept not their first estate(celestial estate), but left their own habitation, GOD hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the Judgment of this great Day.

7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner (of the angels), giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Gen.6:2-the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair;and they took them wives of all which they chose.I will destroy man whom I have created

    Hi Sacha.

The previous 2 verses 11 and 12 Is the Lord and he precedes on to verse 21.

John 3:11-14. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

    I hope that helps,

    God bless.

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; ...

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for DUST YOU ARE, and unto DUST shalt thou return.

    Denise, on Matthews 24:30

In American Churchianity, which has spread all over the globe, there is a teaching out there called the rapture. Much energy goes into debating when this event is suppose to happen and those who oppose the main stream idea tend to be bashed. However I'd encourage you all to think about what Jesus said would happen at the end of this age. In Matthew 13: 24-30, Jesus rather clearly says both the weeds and the good wheat shall remain together until harvest time, then the weeds shall be bound, and after the binding the good wheat is gathered into the barn.

I believe the rapture is for the end of the next age. And for this age, it is time for the church to focus on coming to fruition so that it is harvest time.

  • Battleground part two - In Reply on Romans 7 - 4 years ago
Satan's objective is to keep the mind "blind" to the Gospel. Satan has a vast assortment of weapons at his disposal. Remember that Satan has 6,000 years of experience with billions of people. You will not win any battle with Satan on your own, but you can be victorious through Christ. To accomplish his task, Satan looks to our flesh, our fallen nature, to build his kingdom on our lusts and weaknesses. Fallen nature is the nature of the flesh ruling. Satan rules in this realm, he keeps those under his influence as captives.

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the WAYS of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air ( Ephesians 2:1).

Our relationship with Jesus Christ liberates us from Satan's power. We are now a part of the Lord's army, advancing the kingdom of God on enemy territory. This does not stop Satan from trying and as such, we must remain ON GUARD. He works through lust to capture us. The word for lust in Greek is epithumia, and means desire, craving, longing, and the desire for what is forbidden. Satan pursues our fallen nature through the mind, feeding our lusts with perceptions. Satan attacks three areas of our mind. They are lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world ( 2 John 2:16).

John 3. You must be born again to receive:

    Salvation through Jesus

Forgiveness of sins: past, present, future

Receive right standing with God the Father

Confess that the Holy Spirit is your Teacher

Tell someone that you have been born again.

Stay in 1 Corinthians until you see what is available to you, through the Holy Spirit. Ask him to Help you with fleshly passions. Rid your house of objects of temptation. Everything. Stay in the New Testament until you are stronger. Talk to Jesus 24/7 He hears you!

That is what concerns me, the too late part. Praying that God will respond and praying not to be deceived and praying for forgiveness. Figure the best thing for me is to continue to seek God by calling out to Jesus and reminding myself that His ways are not my ways, His thoughts are not my thoughts, so if I can't figure it out that doesn't mean that all is lost.
  • The Battleground is in our minds - In Reply - 4 years ago
Satan's battleground is our mind and his objective is to gain control over us. For unbelievers, Satan wants to blind their minds to keep them from accepting Christ. whose minds the god [Satan] of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them ( 2 Corinthians 4:4). For the believer, the battleground is still the mind, to destroy our belief, faith, and relationship with God. The Greek word for mind is noema, which translates to mental thought or perception, "that which thinks". Here is where Satan fights for control so that he can blind the person to the Gospel. Unfortunately, in way to many cases, we are not looking and do not see the attack until it is to late.

God's word implores us to guard our mind, against the ways of this world. and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:6-7).

We have a choice, we can cast Satan away or permit Satan to affect our minds. The real danger is being ignorant of what Satan is doing. my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge ( Hosea 4:6). We need to be ever vigilant, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to question the source of every thought. Is our thought judgmental or uplifting? Are we getting negative thoughts questioning our relationship with others or of ourselves? If it is negative or evil, then we need to immediately rebuke it and think about whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report ( Phil 4:8).

The Bible uses the terms "soul" and "spirit" interchangeably. Jesus said: fear then that can kill both body & soul...........

Scholars say the soul is our consciousness, the spirit our connection to God.

When the soul dies, does the spirit die? Do the soul and spirit share anything in common.
  • The Law and the Prophets - 4 years ago
The 2 witnesses (against us and for us) has always been:

The LAW and the PROPHETS. GOD'S WORD.

    Moses and Elijah.

If we cannot perceive Gods Laws, and Receive the Prophetic Voice of God (through Jesus and others)

We have scales over our eyes and our ears do not hear TRUTH.

He is the Good Shepherd and we are his sheep. His sheep KNOW his voice. Another voice they will NOT follow.

Scripture is reliable just as it is. We don't need to dress it up with opinions to make it more presentable. We will be judged by every vain word we have spoken out of our mouth.

It is not vain, to not understand every mystery. Childlike trust impresses God. He told us how to become born again. Do that and your house will be built upon The Rock which is Jesus Christ; the Son of God.

God told Lots wife, turn from it, do not look at it. If we ponder upon the Falling Away, and the Apostasy of the Church: it may turn our walk with the Savior, to stone.

Psalm 23, He is your Shepherd. Stay close to Him.

Think about what you are building with. Wood, Hay, Stubble? Our God is a consuming fire. Selah

    Hey Lauren,

Not so fast there, lets talk about the stories essence. God needed a solid narrative to unleash an all-inclusive decay upon humanity. Adam and Eve were no match for Satan, and God knew this. A prize fighter vs 2 babies. So their sin for disobedience is passed down through every generation, breeding mayhem and chaos, and nothing changes until God's representative returns to stops the madness. Certainly one has to reflect on the pragmatic basis that God, full well knowing we humans can't make it alone, would send us out in a maze, alone, forever and always trying to get back home.

To put my point in perspective, I wouldn't want to be apart of the animal kingdom either. Almost every hour is spent looking for a kill, and looking to not be eaten. God loves them too. I wonder what the animals complain about, dream about.

I would like to ask another question that people do not talk about much. How many of you have had God answer your prayer and you knew it had to be him that did it? For some reason no one talks about answered prayers. Thanks! I forgot I saw on face book today that this site is for sale? Why? It may not be true?
  • Norman Walker - 4 years ago
I just had something happen on face book that has not happened many times but I was praising God and a woman made a comment to me that God was not real and the Bible was just a fake book that is not true and the first thing that came to mind was I feel sorry for you on judgement day! I think that the devil is doing all this and only true believers will make it to heaven! I have never seen God but I have felt him standing by my bed several times and felt him in the room. He has also answered a prayer for me one time that was really important and in 5 min. the problem was solved and no one would have known what it was! Amen. Point is this world is turning out just like God said it would and it is at the fastest pace that I have ever seen! The Bible is getting fulfilled more and more every day so I sure do not know but the time is getting near I think. No one knows when Jesus is coming back! Just wanted to share this because the woman that said that really opened up my eyes to what is going on! Amen

So can anyone tell me for sure ,if the final clause of John ch3 v13 are the words of Jesus or John ,thankyou .
