See, in Job and other places, that Satan is an Adversary of Gods Word. He studies us intently, looking for the weak places, the hidden compromises, the secret fears. If we do not fill in the gaps, build up the hedges and stand guard through our prayer lives: he will sneak back in to shake our faith in Jesus.
We all sin. We are all being tempted every day. We do not have to cower to the "Goliaths" out there. Find the shepherd boy within your own heart. Fill your hand with the "stones" (scriptures that have taken root in the good soil of your heart)...kill those giants that oppose you.
David was tending sheep. Lots of quality time alone with God. Learning through practice, the HEART of God. It is all through the Bible! Every page. He picked us to conquer and destroy our invisible enemies (Eph.6)
We don't just save our own skins. God wants us to fight on our knees for others who are weak.
We can fight for this nation while we are still here.
Father in heaven, revive intercessory prayer inside the Churches. Teach us WAR, on our knees. We are His Church. ONE BODY.
It is proper tradition to be baptized, John the Baptist offered it, but what about the people who by no fault of their own didn't get baptized? Surely God would look in their hearts and baptize them with the Holy Ghost. God wants us circumcised inwardly, not of the flesh.
I wonder how many capital criminals behind bars were baptized?
The people in the Old Testament couldn't have eternal life upon the death of their flesh; they had to lay in the grave and wait for Christ resurrection.
The gospel was preached to them of that coming PROMISE (Christ in you, perfection, eternal life).
Those that DIED IN FAITH was rewarded with that promise when Christ was resurrected.
Hebrews 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the PROMISE.
Hebrews 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us (we would made perfect never seeing death), that they without should be made perfect.
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matthew 27:53 And came out of the graves AFTER HIS RESURRECTION, and went into the Holy city (New Jerusalem), and were seen by many.
Since we become SEED what is your BELIEF on what we will be doing when we depart this body of flesh.
I BELIEVE THE SEED will' in the ages to come, multiply itself so all become SEED. Is this your belief also.
"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, ..."
does this one body include members from different churches? and those have already passed away?
I would strongly suggest just reading the Bible with an open heart and mind and pray to God for wisdom and understanding. Seek and ye shall find. I think God wants to be sought so we may know Him.
I would also be very cautious of everything man says and would pretty much disregard this. If you just stay in God's Word and keep at it truly seeking Him and following Jesus, I think you're on the right track.
Let me share you a template response that anytime I hear sets off alarms to me. "You don't really don't have to _____" for example "You don't have to do __________ to be saved." Just fill in the blank, it almost doesn't even matter what people say when I hear this blank filled, because it just seems to all fit the same format. If I imagine a serpent whispering it to me and it makes it even more scary. If the Bible says one thing, but man says you don't have to do it, I tend to not believe man. I also question the motives: what is the real underlying reason for not wanting to do this or that?
Is the goal to do the absolute bare minimum as a Christian in attempt to 'get in' to heaven? If so, that person's motives are seriously in question. I don't think God wants your bare minimum effort, but all of you. The greatest commandment is to love God with ALL your heart and ALL your soul. Is someone truly doing that if they're always looking to do only the bare minimum luke-warm effort? Maybe their heart isn't even on following Jesus, but the sin of the world as his idol, but assumes he's a saved Christian because someone told him that once. I think for that person this verse is applicable: Matthew 10:28
God bless....
"I had a salvation experience sorta like apostle Paul. Except I was interpreting a natal Astrology chart I had made: on Yom Kippur."
Are you a bloodline Jew of Judah, or an Ashkenazim Jew for Jesus? I would love to hear about your ancestors too. Thank you.
Do you know Earl? He said the same thing to Sissy about Ez 18:4, Small world.
Earl Bowman - in Reply
Sissy, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.
This body (soul) of flesh we now live in can never inherit the next life.
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine...... the soul that sinneth it shall die.
More should be discussed between the spirit and the soul.
The comments for Galatians 6:9-10 provide more explanations concerning this subject.
This body (soul) of flesh we now live in can never inherit the next life.
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine...... the soul that sinneth it shall die.
ALL MANKIND IS CHRISTS; we are his creation, it is his good pleasure to do with us as he DESIRES.
WE REBEL (that we are his possession) through UNBELIEF; he brings judgement upon us to CAUSE us to AGREE with him.
All this is a process to RECREATE us into a NEW creature that can inherit the NEXT LIFE.
No greater love has a man than to die for his brother.
Christ DIED for us, his brothers and sisters.
NOW do we AGREE to DIE for CHRIST, our brother, so he can CREATE in us a NEW LIFE that can live in the next world or will it take MORE JUDGEMENT for us to AGREE.
If we AGREE now (first resurrection) to DIE IN THE LORD; then, we never die and don't go through the next judgement (second resurrection).
Revelation 14:13 ....Blessed are the dead (in trespasses) which die IN THE LORD from henceforth.....
John 6:50 This is the (living) bread that came down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and NEVER DIE.
If and when this website posts my comment, I want to add more information concerning this subject.
1st, Most often, the positive and profitable activity of well-doing is inconvenient, costly, and sacrificial in time, energy, labor, and resources.
2nd, GOD does not always reward well-doing immediately or even in this lifetime.
3rd, GOD always rewards well-doing in "due season."
Contextually, this "well doing" refers to "communicating" temporal wealth to teachers who "teacheth in all good things" (v.6), as well as providing life-support resources to the less fortunate within "the household of faith" (v.10).
The words "season" (v.9), and "opportunity" (v.10) translate from the same Greek noun root, both meaning a very specific, short, and measurable period of time, climaxed by an important decisive event. Contextually, this "due season" specifically refers to CHRIST's Second Coming wherein HE will ultimately reward HIS children for their well-doing (cp. Rev. 22:12 re. "rewards").
The New Testament speaks much concerning rewards which GOD The FATHER and LORD JESUS CHRIST will give to the Faithful. See Mt. 5:12; 6:4, 6, 18; 10:41-42; 16:27; Mk. 9:41; Lu. 6: 23, 35; 1Cor. 3:8, 14; Heb. 11:26; 2Jn. 1:8; and Rev. 22:12.
Do not allow weariness, exhaustion, and impatience prompt you to quit in well-doing as "faint not" (v.9) suggests (cp. 1Cor. 15:58).
The first priority of individual Christians and the local church is to provide necessary aid and support first and foremost, and "especially" (v.10), to the church's less fortunate, if and when necessary in the same manner as did the Jerusalem church "as every man had need" (Ac. 2:45; 4:34-35).
The expression, "household of faith" (v.10), identifies all Christians generally, and the local church specifically (cp. Eph. 2:19; 1Pet. 4:17). First Timothy 3:15 adds further descriptions: "the house of GOD, which is the Church of The Living GOD, the pillar and ground of the Truth."
First, the Word is GOD. As you know, GOD-the Word-is Light- 1John 1:v.5. GOD said: Let there be light: and there was light-Gen.1:v.3. GOD has 7 Spirits- Revelation 5:v.6. By the way, there is a RAINBOW round about His throne-Rev.4:v.3. Again: The Word is GOD. Now see: God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good-Gen.1:v.11-12.
That said: the colours you (or science) see in the terrestrial nature is a reflex of the 7 Spirits of GOD, for the Word is the Creator. The Word said: Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, ... and it was so. The Word is the Power, the Omniscient, and Omnipresent, and Ominipotent GOD. The King David knew GOD sos well. David said: "For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast- Psalm 33:v.9. Dearest Denise, the Word is the source of the true Science and of the Wisdom.
The great MYSTERY revealed is the Word made flesh and was born JESUS, "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge"- Colossians 2:v.3. Paul Apostle said to the church of Colosse: I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the MYSTERY of God - Christ. Colossians 2:1-2.Amen.
Honestly, I like to decipher GOD's enigmas.God blesses
