    Hi Denise Rucker-Henry

Remember: The letter KILLETH, but the Spirit giveth life. 2Cor.3:v.6

And more: It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit,

and they are life. John 6:v.63

By the way, There are three that bear record in heaven (heaven? Ephesians 1:v.3), the Father, the Word, and the Holy

Spirit: and these three are One. 1 John 5:v.7

My comment is about this Is it wrong of me to have problems with going to a church that is not an old time religion church and I am not getting what I need with spiritual motivation and learning more about the teachings of Jesus. I am use to a fire and brimstone teaching and the preacher is not that and I not getting uplifting from his messages. The old church was resolved .

Soon after Israel bombs Iran, the world will have its day of the Lord.

Is this not what you expected to see; thick black smoke?

    Hi Shannon.

I agree with you, water baptism is not a requirement for salvation,

And rather go through the scripture as usual to show the definition and it being a symbolic testimony of what Christ crucifixion and resurrection DONE FOR US.

Let's examine the text in Acts 2:38.

Lets see if Peter gave them two things to do or did he give them one thing to do for the remission of sins.

    1) Did Peter say unto them, Repent, and " BE " baptized?

    Or

    2) Did Peter say unto them, Repent and "GET" baptized?

    Homely example:

You're sitting at home watching TV. Your son is standing in front of the TV,

( YOU TELL HIM TO SIT DOWN AND GET OUT THE WAY! )

He does " one " thing.

He sat down, when he did he got out the way.

Note: ALL JEWS HERE IN ACTS.

( Acts 2:38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. )

The jews believed in Judaism and believed their salvation rested on it.

Jesus was announced by his forerunner "John the baptist "

Jesus met all the criteria given by the prophecies of the old testament and the Law, He committed the miracles.

The message to the Jews was to

    REPENT FROM UNBELIEF TO BELIEF.

( ACCEPTING THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB )

So when those who repented they "WERE" Baptized.

( They were put into the body of believers, Identified with Christ and the Resurrection "IMMEDIATELY" AND SUPER NATURALLY, BY THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLYSPIRIT. ) and THEN we're they baptized with water to profess their faith.

    God bless.

Thanks, that is how I feel and God said do not listen to your own understanding and I do not. I do not have any problem at all understanding what I should or should not do. It is so simple and everyone is making it so hard to understand and believe and I think they may mean well but people tend to think they are smarter than anyone else and that makes it hard on the simple minded like me. Love and obey God and you will be fine, thanks again! I do think you should read the Bible and study it but you cannot listen to everyone's opinion. All I have to do to believe is just look at this earth and everything in it and then look at the Sun which has burned a the perfect temp. since it was created and never has needed any fuel! I believe with all my heart that God created this world we live in and Jesus walked the face of the earth and died for our sins! Period.

The other point that can be made here is something many parents wonder about. Samson's asked the Lord for directions on how to raise their son. They were given the instructions and giving them the benefit of the doubt they did diligently.

However, Samson strayed and we know the story and the final outcome. My point is although the parents and family are God fearing, the child can, and many do, stray away from faith.

On the other side of the coin- parents and families may be ungodly and don't know God; however, the child and many do, find faith and strength in the Lord.

What do we do fathers, mothers? We trust in the Lord and all of His promises. We read, pray, and trust in the Lord God Almighty. It's not over till death.

Thank you for your promises and for your Word.

Psalm 103 it is very important to speak these words to the soul convincingly until you make an impression upon your soul. You will know when your soul starts responding. Speak lovingly to your soul the words of God. As God woos us we should woo our souls. Once the soul joins the spirit man the body will fall into place.

  • David on Mark 15 - 4 years ago
Imagine the look of shock that all those who committed these evil acts to our Lord God Jesus Christ, and finally killing Jesus on the cross, then realizing at their own death they made a mistake. A grave mistake that cost them eternity from Christ. May we campaign hard and reach as many as we can before they go into eternity because of their lost condition.

To have been present at the time of healings and performing of the feeding of the multitudes (2X), bringing people dead back to life; and still not believe. To have heard the words of grace from Christ Himself, praise the Lord.

I deem not to judge, but thankful that I heeded the prompting of the Holy Spirit in my heart and trusted in the Lord for my salvation. I praise the Lord as well for everyone else who trusts in the Lord for their salvation.

God the Lord Jesus Christ deserves all the praise and glory, on one else. Thank Lord. Come quickly Lord.

  • TOMMY HILL on Matthew 9 - 4 years ago
The question I have is as follows:

Where in the bible can I find about death specifically....When we die do we wait in sleep until the world ends and then we are brought before God for judgement? or when we die do we have judgement and join god immediately after death? Reason for question is many say after a love one has passed, that he/she if with the Lord our God and looking down upon us now.

    Respectfully Submitted,

    Tommy Hill

Laura, I think you are trying to confuse us with your coy aloofness. Revelation 31, really? You are funny.
  • Shannon - In Reply - 4 years ago
Johnny - If baptism is a requirement of salvation, then why did Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:17 say " For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:"? If baptism is a requirement of salvation, don't you think the greatest missionary that ever lived (other than Jesus) would be baptizing everyone he could?

Also, in 1 Corinthians 1:14, he said "I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;"

Jesse, is the Holy Spirit of God and Christ abiding in believers? I don't understand how we die and are not present with him and the Father. Revelation 31:22 says the new Jerusalem has no temple in it because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple thereof. If they are the temple in the new Jerusalem and they abide in man it seems that born again men are the new Jerusalem; making them the city of righteousness. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says we are the temple of God because new Jerusalem has come down from heaven to abide in men. It seems to me that since Christ is in man; bringing man to truth, then the ones that have left their bodies of flesh and now have the body of Christ (being one with Christ) are also in man doing the works of Christ. Ruling and reigning with Christ. They shall reign with Christ a thousand years (a thousand years is as one day). It seems to me this has been happening since Christ ascended into the new heaven (man).
  • Mark Valesano on Job 19 - 4 years ago
To rationalize all things that pertain to us can be misleading and, at times, even disastrous. Cause and effect in the natural realm of our existence doesn't always apply in the ways of God in our lives. Job's 'friends' may have been unsettled by the chance that Job hadn't done anything warranting his current state. There was no wrong done by Job to bring this about. God in His providence had allowed things events to occur. If that were the case then Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were in jeopardy of being grossly mistaken in their responses to their associate. This proved to be the case in the end.

Without the Bible and prior to Jesus' earthly ministry, Job faced his dilemmas the best anyone could expect. Even in the midst of facing continued criticism from supposed allies. Thank you Job for endurance and patience and thank you God for allowing this book to be contained in your holy Word for our instruction and enlightenment!
