Hello, the Israelites had their own civil laws applying just to them at that period of time. Deuteronomy 17 talks about their capital punishment of wicked people outside the city, but it isn't related to children. Hearsay often distorts and conflates things and that's likely what you may have heard.

  • David on Mark 10:9 - 4 years ago
    Hey Paul Keen,

In order to know if God is speaking to you, you must first know God. Being saved is the first step, but you still need to know of God. Know His character, His Truths, His attributes; then you will know if you are hearing from God of the Scripture. John 10: 24-27

True believers can know the Truth, because you've studied the Truth in scripture.

To know counterfeit money, you must study the real money. Then you will be able to know the fake, because you know the true money.

Know Jesus, know the Truth. No Jesus, No truth.
  • David on Mark 10:9 - 4 years ago
    Hey Robert,

Great questions and they are not irrelevant. Asking is good, it is the motive that may not be good. Many questions asked by the scribes and Pharisees were to try and trap Jesus and not to learn the truth.

Those who died before Jesus' death on the cross, were saved because of their faith in the coming messiah. Romans 4: 3-5, Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 11: 1-3. We look back to the cross, those before us looked forward to the cross.

Those who believe in the Messiah, the Christ will be at the Bema Seat of Christ, 1 Corinthians 3:11-16, Acts 4:10-12

God has always had a way for people of all ages to be saved. Ps 19; Luke 16:27-31
  • TRINITY or GODHEAD - In Reply - 4 years ago
Using the Search Box feature out on the red link page: if you type TRINITY in the search box,

The search engine cannot find that word in the KJV Bible.

If you search, GODHEAD, you will find scriptures.

May the Wisdom of God come upon all

The doubting comes when we are ignorant of the character of God. But do not fear, all things spoken to us in scripture will come to pass. God my King, the Lord Jesus Christ promises abundance. My position in Christ, my salvation, gives me automatic victory. But in order to be victorious, in this life, I must take my stand, ( Eph 6: 11-18) I must realize my perfect position in the Lord. Let me live in victory. Walk in wisdom of the Lord and stand. Know who you are in scripture. Possessing the victory in Christ Jesus comes from knowing who you are in Christ Jesus.

If I am not willing to search the scriptures and go to battle, then I should not expect peace and comfort from the Lord. Prayer is a Battle ground. Read the Book of Daniel. We must come to Christ believing. The Lady with the issue of Blood came believing and was healed. Read the gospel of Mark.

Stand fast and learn of Jesus, then go out a do it in His name. May the Lord bless you in your search to know God intimately. I have to remind myself of these concepts daily. Bless you all. Saved since 1961, I'm now 70 years old. Praise His name.

Know Jesus, know life abundant. No Jesus, no life in abundance.
  • What Became of Jonah - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Jonah the prophet

    Born. 9th century BCE

    Died. 8th century BCE[1]

    Veneratedin Judaism, Christianity, Islam

    Major shrine:

Tomb of Jonah (destroyed), Mosul, Iraq

    Parent(s): Rivka, Amittai

Jonah or Jonas[a] Ben-Amittai is a prophet in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran, from Gath-hepher of the northern kingdom of Israel in about the 8th century BCE. He is the central figure of the Book of Jonah, in which he is called upon by God to travel to Nineveh and warn its residents of impending divine wrath. Instead, Jonah boards a ship to Tarshish. Caught in a storm, he orders the ship's crew to cast him overboard, whereupon he is swallowed by a giant fish. Three days later, after Jonah agrees to go to Nineveh, the fish vomits him out onto the shore. Jonah successfully convinces the entire city of Nineveh to repent, but waits outside the city in expectation of its destruction.

God shields Jonah from the sun with a plant, but later sends a worm to cause it to wither. When Jonah complains of the bitter heat, God rebukes him.

Herein there is no where the churches of our time have erred more greatly and especially in these United States. So far from condescending to men of low estate the desire of most gravitates toward those who are prestigious, and socially prominent. Thus for the most part only the well to do are found in the prominent places of our churches. This is in total contradiction of how it ought to be according to St. Paul as it is the POOR who are richest in faith, while the wealthy of this world, those most often given to greed and oppression should be those we trust the lest! It would be wise therefore we heed Paul's admonition and CONDESCEND to men of low estate, and let us thus prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God herein by putting some of our very poorest on our pulpit committees, and our Church boards to help direct things, rather then to only catering to our rich young rulers. Those poor among us in this worlds goods are not nearly as dumb as we seem to think. And if putting such like in these slots gives offence then so be it. We ought to just do it anyway. After all, who are we out to please? God or Man?!

Thus for the most part only the well to do are in found the prominent places of leadership in our churches here. this is in total contradiction of how it ought to be which is made so clear by St. Paul that it is the POOR, who are richest in faith, while the wealthy of this world being naturally greedy are most often oppressors! Therefore it is wise to CONDESCEND to men of low estate. Make sure poor folk are on our pulpit committees, our Church boards, and our board of directors, rather then to only be catering to the rich herein. The poor are not nearly as dumb as we seem to think, and if that means we must downsize than that is exactly what needs to be done. Who are we out to please? God or Man?!
  • Tony on Genesis 32:30 - 4 years ago
Gen 32:30, please elaborate the best possible meaning. Face to face could be another word for meeting, not a literal meaning that Jacob actually saw God's face. Right? If he saw God's face then it contradicts other scriptures that says no man sees God otherwise will surely die.

John 6;12 The question becomes me. Their are only so many fragments left to eat. I don't know how many their are yet left to eat who sit behind me? How much should I take? Do not worry my friend, You see it does not matter. Fore this bread will multiply from the time u eat , until the time u give it away! There will be plenty. The question is, will you take enough.

The Sun shined on two lumps of clay. One lump receive the rays and became pliable to be used. The other lump did not receive the rays internally because dried and hard, unfit to be used.

The Water rain down from the heavens upon the earth. Some of the earth received the down pour and became pliable and beared much fruit. Another part of the earth was so harden the water could not be absorbed, rendering it unfit to bring forth fruit.

Salvation had come to all men in the person of Jesus Christ. The Father knew before the foundations of the world who would believe His Son and who would reject Him..........
  • P A Dickerson - In Reply - 4 years ago
In much love, Hugo.....Once you receive and believe the truth of the Gospel you turn from your old way of thinking and living your life. That's repentance, its means a turning away or to go in a different direction. By believing Jesus Christ, His resurrection and confessing this truth, salvation has come to you. Also, the Holy Spirit indwells you upon hearing and believing through faith. Roman 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9......You don't have to run from person to person to ask for forgiveness. The Lord will orchestrate the right time and place for this to occur if needed. Simply, you know that it is impossible for you to go to all the individual that you have wronged while you were in the world. People will see the change in you without you saying one word. Furthermore, we have already been converted when we are told to go to the brethren and our adversary before we bring our gifts to the altar. Matthew 5:23-26
  • Warren Gibbs on Romans 12:3 - 4 years ago
It appears to me within the context of this passage certain believers in the church of

Roam tended to feel they had callings beyond what was true. As such they thought too much of themselves. This for sure is often the case with those young in the Lord once they discover themselves to be in posession of spiritual gifts.

I seem to recollect an Old Testament decree that , if your children are repeatedly naughty you should take them outside the city and kill them.

i am wondering whether Croydon is sufficiently outside the city for this purpose and if not will it be in order to kill them at home.

Perhaps you could guide me to the relevant Old Testament quotation.

    Thank you.

I really hope you people who openly write your opinions STOP!! Because yes in fact JESUS is saying before Abraham I AM , the same I AM that told Moses in the Old Testament. Isaiah 9:6 says it best who JESUS is and if you need New Testament to back up who HE is 1st Timothy 3:16 but this one clearly nails it John 1:10,11 He was in the world and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and his own received Him not.)HALLELUJAH GLORY BE TO GOD, JESUS is GOD Manifested in the flesh as 1st Timothy 3:16 and ISAIAH 9:6 so clearly and plainly put it!! Why do you think we are to be baptized in His Name ? ACTS 2:38 , because JESUS himself was Water baptized as an example to us as to what HE expects EVERYONE who WANTS SALVATION to do as HE Stated to Nicodemus in JOHN3:5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee .Except a man be born of the Water and of the Spirit , he cannot enter the kingdom of God. ( Peter Preached on the day of Pentecost in the book of ACTS 2:38 to Repent and be baptized in Jesus Name filled with the Holy Ghost. EPHESIANS 4:5 says One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism . ( John 1:1 through 5) in the beginning was the Word , and the Word was with God , and the Word was God . The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. ( Same as some people today ) In Jesus Name I Bid you Peace

Jesus died for ALL your sins and rose again to justify His sacrifice. At the moment you are saved, all your sins are wiped away as if you had never sinned. And His blood will continue to cover sins you commit after salvation--you need only ask Him for forgiveness. Don't let the devil tell you Jesus will not forgive you, for our Lord's blood is sufficient for you.

Spencer : the reason that many older people choose to live together without matrimony is that if they choose to marry they can possibly lose benefits that they are receiving as a surviving spouse. Often they will secretly get married and never file the marriage license with the state for that reason. In the eyes of God they are married since before the government got involved and made marriage a money making racket their was no license needed to get married. That is how I see it.
