    Revelation 7 Explained:

Even if you have read Revelation 7 hundreds of times, you may not have noticed something peculiar. After the tribes are sealed, vs 1-8, time skips forward 3.5 years, showing the same 144K resurrected and standing about the throne.

    9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. These are the firstfruits who will serve a thousand years with Jesus Christ.

When I read your post, the Holy Spirit chose that scripture for you: "for the joy set before him".

That shows me that He has heard your question and He's going to open it up to you.

Myself and others were rescued out of impossible lifestyles and unbelief, to be here now. To gives a hand to someone else.

A lot of people are here to be of help, answering questions. We're all different, different backgrounds, education, life experiences, and more. We're all learning new things too. The greatest Teacher is the Holy Spirit. I found that the more scripture I pack into me, the easier I hear the Holy Spirit. He alone knows what we need. New relationships are sometimes slow to start, but after a while we almost know what the other person is going to say. That's cool when it happens.

Keep coming back. I'll remember your name.

    Blessings and Peace on you

I Praise the Lord that we as children of God can have a meaningful discourse on this forum. We all know that there are no perfect churches out there. Not even pastors or church leaders are perfect.

The Apostles stayed in Jerusalem to minister. Both Elijah and Elisha were prophets in the Northern Kingdom to the ten tribes. We know from scripture of the wickedness in the Northern Kingdom and worshipping of false idols. Never-the-less they stayed to fulfill the will of God. We too can do the same. Through our testimony, walk, and talk we can praise the Lord.

Do personal, one on one evangelism, ( Matthew 28:18-20). Pray for all, as I know many of us do, according to scripture. ( 2 Tim 2) Invite people over for a meal,( Acts 2). Nothing opens doors better than good food, and good fellowship. Get involved in a ministry. Go visiting. This one is some what difficult owing to the current pandemic we are in. Be creative. It's not easy, but the Lord will be praised. Let's be part of it. Let's not give the devil the upper hand to the souls that need to find Christ. God is still on the throne.

God's Will is that we love His Word, meditate in His Word, and do His Word (Book of James). May the Lord's Hand be evident in all the we do for Him in His Name. Didn't mean to preach, just wanted to help. God love us all.

And 'we don't have to suffer to avoid Hell': there's no suffering for the child of God, only peace with God, joy & expectation that our sins have been dealt with & our destiny is in the presence of our Loving Father & His precious Son for all eternity.

Apologies for the lengthy answer - I just noticed that others have shared also. May the Lord guide you & bless you as you seek to understand the great cost of your salvation.

All this pointed to a time in the future when God would then "provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering." ( Genesis 22:8). So the Old Testament showed the people their sin & need for a substitute sacrifice but all it did was to temporarily cover their sin (i.e. avert God's Anger against them) until the coming of "the better hope & the better Covenant" ( Hebrews 7:19,22). What was this new Hope & Covenant for Israel? Sin was still sin & the penalty then was the same penalty now, but the difference now was that God Himself would provide His Own sacrificial Lamb. All other sacrifices fell far short in God's justice system & could never deal with the sin issue - all people remained condemned before Him.

But the same love that God had for His people in those old days was still very much the same to be demonstrated in these last days. John 3:16 best describes that Love which not only was for Israel but through this special Sacrifice, would encompass all people that each one could be saved by it, simply by looking to Him in faith. And the only Sacrifice that could demonstrate that Love & fulfil His Holy demands was that God Himself would, through His Son (the Word given flesh), would lay down His Life for us all. There could be no other suitable or acceptable sacrifice for our sins & to divert God's Anger against us that would send us to Hell for eternity. No man or animal could fully pay the price - God willingly gave of Himself for us all. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" ( John 15:13 & 1 John 3:16 "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because HE laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren). And the 'brutality of His Death' was because of the prevailing Roman form of execution, i.e. the release of Barabbas that Jesus might be crucified in his place.

Hello Randy. Looking at the sacrifice of Jesus, the Son of God, from the human standpoint, I would agree with your question & it could also make me wonder also as to why God couldn't provide another way for our redemption. But with any biblical question that needs an answer, we have to find it by understanding God's Wisdom as seen in ALL of Scripture. Please bear with me.

In God's Justice system, if anything is done in opposition to His Law (whether verbal or written), the penalty for that disobedience is death: "For the wages of sin (breaking of the Law) is death" ( Romans 6:23) & "as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" ( Romans 5:12). We suffer death because we are all sinners - all have disobeyed God's Will (whether Jew or non-Jew). But was death the only punishment for sinners seeing that the spirit of man (our immaterial part that is really who we are) cannot die? The body has to die & return to dust but the spirit still has to face judgement for his disobedience & rejection of God: "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" ( Hebrews 9:27).

But God's people (Israel) still had to have a set of rules & regulations from God that they had to obey to have a right standing before Him & if they failed to do so, their sinful state remained & they would stand before the Great Judge. Of course, they failed, as we also do now, because those Laws only revealed to us our sinfulness & incapability to fulfil them. So God introduced the sacrificial system whereby Israel faithfully had various sacrifices performed so that God would be appeased by this act of payment of life for life. Rather than the Israelite being executed for his sin (which would mean that all would have been killed), God's Anger & Judgement against him was appeased by the sacrifice of an unblemished animal as his substitute (Leviticus chapter 1).

    Hi Randy,

Just to add a little more to Mishael's relpy,

As this explains that even in the Old Testament there was no remission of sins without blood. Why they had to sacrifice animals for the sins they committed. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God and the perfect sacrifice or offering once and for all for the sins of the whole world. Hebrews 9

    But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood

For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people

Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you

Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

As we watch this evil world heading for self destruction, at satan's hands, it seems most people professing Christianity are more concerned about arguing various points, but one sees little about end time Scripture, "Christ in you, the hope of glory.' Col.1:27, 'In the days of the of the Voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of GOD should be finished, as HE hath declared to HIS servants, the prophets', Rev.10:7; where the Gentiles "crucify to themselves the Son of GOD afresh, Heb.6:6, and 1Thes.4:15-16, which expresses the 'Coming of the LORD, in preparation for the catching away of the Very elect of Mat.24:24, one asks if, somehow, many have missed the point!

One, as a new comer to this site, ponders why there is so little excitement, that many are still chatting about bubble and squeak issues rather than the strong meat of Jesus Christ, here, today?

The LORD has to return, GOD, not Jesus, the MAN, to open the Seven Seals, reveal all mysteries of the GODHEAD, whilst Jesus, the Christ, returns in Rev.19, with the saints, not for them.

Why, still, is there such confusion amongst believers?

Why do we witness so many denominations, all claiming they alone have Truth, and yet, none of them can agree on Scripture, beside most fundamental doctrines, some not even that?

WHO is it that comes down in Rev.10:1-7?

Scripture tells us that satan is now sitting on his throne, in the city of seven hills, claiming to be GOD, to receive worship, instead of Jesus Christ, the One True GOD, which suggests he, satan, has again pulled the wool over the eyes of many of those believing to be Christians.

Our responsibility, as Christians, is to point those seeking Truth back to the unadulterated WORD of GOD, as HE is the WORD, not man's doctrines and dogma, which trapped Eve, back at the beginning.

It is not my desire to push any religion, any denomination, but to stick exactly with HIS WORD!

The main element we can take away from the current reading is we must be born again according to Scripture.

All the encouragement, chiding, blessings and cursings are only given to the children of Israel. Nothing was said to the inhabitants of Canaan. If a person was not a member of the children of Israel then the blessings, cursings were not for them.

God gives us reminders, guidance, blessing, discipline, and corrections because you are saved and His child. God's only directive to the lost is to be saved!

    Laurel,

This scripture is referring to the peoples and specifically the leadership of Mystery Babylon before the're mortally attacked. So, before the day of the Lord, when God allows the attack, the elect 144K church are sealed from death for 42 months, then, at the end of their testimony the same elect are resurrected up, Revelation 11:7-11. That's the totality of the firstfruit resurrection ( Revelation 14:4) hand picked by God himself. All the elect don't die with so many spread out. No one is raptured (not Bible doctrine) or resurrected, or given divine treatment until the last trumpet.

What is so bad about being part of the 2nd resurrection?

    Bro Barney,

Yes, knowing the time stamps are crucial because the text skips back and forth. You said "There are many more passages that point to the church being raptured up before the tribulation period."

Can you show me in scripture where rapture happens before tribulation? Don't you mean before the great tribulation, before Jesus comes like a thief?

The 144K sealed are the church that is resurrected, depicted standing before the alter as redeemed from the earth. Show me where anyone else besides the 144K are resurrected. Who are like these? Revelation 14:1-5

    Hebrews Chapter 12

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily opposes us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who FOR THE JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him (Jesus) that endured such

contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

As a person of the Godhead ( Romans 1), the plan was already decided amongst them. Adam sinned and Jesus stepped in to become 2nd Adam. See Genesis 3:15.

This is how we know we can have great confidence in God, through Jesus Christ. He is worthy of our thanks, praise and honor. Salvation is a gift. A gift we have to receive.

Be at peace, that Jesus came to you because heaven would not be complete without you.

    1 Corinthians 15:22

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

    1 Corinthians 15:45

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

    1 Corinthians 15:47

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is THE LORD from heaven.

    Hi Peter.

This is those who inhabitant the Earth after the Church is caught up to meet the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:4-9. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Isaiah 2:12. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isaiah 13:9, ...11 (KJV) Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy "THE SINNERS" thereof out of it....10...

    11. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Joel 1:15. Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Why did God refuse Cain's temple sacrifice?

I'm trying to understand what started the rift between the 2 brothers,

and then the children of darkness versus the children of light that happened after that.

Seems to me Cain wouldn't have killed Abel if the Lord hadn't shown obvious preference to Able.

    Chery

Jephthah vowed a vow unto the Lord to offer as a burnt sacrifice, the first thing that came out of his house to great him. His only child, his daughter came out first. There was a tradition that if a woman who wants to give herself in service to God must be a virgin. The expression "bewail her virginity" means that she would spend two months with her close friends and relatives before joining herself to the temple.

Verse 39 And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,

One meaning of burnt offering is to sacrifice at the altar. The other meaning is to give oneself to serve in the Temple, the latter is most likely what was done. She being his only child left no hope for any grandchildren because she could never marry, would die a virgin.

The word lament in verse 40 sounds like she was sacrificed, but the Hebrew word "tanah" can also have the meaning of perhaps recount, rehearse or commemorate the idea of attributing honor.

So, the daughters of Israel could, for four days be honoring her for giving herself for the rest of her life to serve in the temple for the honor of her father's word and the vow he made to God. Some kind of love she had for her daddy.

    God bless

Sister Darlene, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

The Bible is THE WORD; therefore, the words are the (Heavenly) Fathers. Proverbs 6:20 is the (Heavenly) FATHER saying to you THE SON (or daughter) to keep his words. It does not contradict the scripture in Matthew telling you to call no one father; but GOD THE (heavenly) FATHER.
