Jesus is called "the son of man" to emphasize the fact that he was truly human. There were some in the first century who did not teach this truth.
1 John 4:2-3 "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come IN THE FLESH is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come IN THE FLESH is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
Jesus is "the son of man". The Hebrew word "Adam" means, in fact, "man". Thus, Jesus is "the son of man (Adam). He is a descendant of Adam. He had a human mother, Mary, that made that possible.
Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, MADE (BORN) OF A WOMAN, made under the law,"
Romans 1:3-4 "Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh (THE SON OF MAN); And declared to be THE SON OF GOD with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Matthew 16:13 "When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I THE SON OF MAN am?"
Matthew 16:16 "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD."
John 10:36 "Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am THE SON OF GOD?"
So, Jesus Christ is thus referred to as both "the son of man" and "the son of God".

1) When someone "truly" believes in Christ Jesus, he automatically receives the Holy Spirit (see Acts 10:44) and is attached to the vine, Jesus Christ. This is nicely explained in the parallel account of John 15:1-6 at:
Romans 11:19-21 "Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be GRAFFED IN. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and THOU STANDEST BY FAITH. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest HE ALSO SPARE NOT THEE.
Notice, the "gentile" believer, like a branch, is graffed into the olive tree because of his faith in Christ Jesus. But, Paul says to fear - why? Because God can "spare not thee" as he "spared not" the unbelieving Jews.
2) The apostle Peter was writing to faithful believing Christians. See 2 Peter 1:1. He is giving them a warning against false prophets. See 2 Peter 2:1. He specifically says about these ones that they "have forsaken the right way". See 2 Peter 2:15. So, at one time, they were on the right way. At 2 Peter 2:20, he says that they "had escaped the pollutions of the world" but, unfortunately, "they are again entangled therein". They have returned to the world.
Thus, they are likened to a dog who has vomited out his vomit and left it for good. But, then, he returns. Or, the sow (pig) who used to role in the mud. Then he leaves the mud and is cleansed. But, unfortunately, he then returns. In a similar way, these ones who believed in Christ Jesus and received the Holy Spirit and were cleansed of their old, sinful ways, have now returned to their sinful practices. Peter says "too bad for them". Jude says they have "died twice". See Jude 14.
3) As for Hebrews, Paul is speaking to believers.
Hebrews 6:4 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY GHOST,". This happened when they believed. See again Acts 10:44.

Can a person decide to keep only a portion of the laws of his city or country? Can a person keep only a portion of the terms of his rental lease or of his work contract? In like manner, can a person keep only a portion of the contract (Mosaic Law) made between God and Israel. There were over 600 laws given. The 10 commandments are only the first 10 of those 600+ laws.
Notice what Israel said when the Mosaic Law (or Covenant) was inaugurated by blood at Exodus 24:3-8:
Exodus 24:3 "And Moses came and told the people ALL the words of the LORD, and ALL the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, ALL THE WORDS which the LORD hath said will we do."
James 2:10-11 "For whosoever shall keep the WHOLE LAW, and yet offend in ONE POINT, he is guilty of ALL."
If a person keeps the 4th commandment but not the other commandments of the Old Covenant, he is breaking the law. That is why the apostle Paul, under inspiration, said the law had to be changed.
Hebrews 7:12 "For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW."
Hebrews 8:13 "In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to VANISH AWAY."
Replaced by the New Covenant (or Testament) by Jesus' shed blood.
Luke 22:20 "Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the NEW TESTAMENT in my blood, which is shed for you."
I gladly obey those commandments of Jesus Christ ( John 14:15), of the New Testament, which were communicated by inspiration and revelation to the Apostles - from Acts to Revelation. See 2 Corinthians 12:7 and 2 Timothy 3:16.

Maybe you were intending to respond to me on a another thread- not sure.
There are 2 funamental differences of opinion among Christians:
1. Fight the good fight
2. The battle is already won
It seems some people believe Jesus did all the work and all someone needs to do is respond to an altar call once in their life for about 3 minutes and they are instantly saved for eternity. To them this means they can kick back and enjoy life, even enjoy sin, because grace, right?
That is a fundamental different perspective than one who reads the verses about running the race, keeping the armor of God on, watching out for the devil as a lion on the prowl waiting to devour you, living not of the world, being a light, realizing you're persecuted for your beliefs and trying to stand strong in the face of evil. Realizing that all the parables (warnings) Jesus gave about most people not making it to heaven is real, and realizing that He was even warning His own followers (Christians). If Jesus already paid the debt and won then why did Jesus preach at all? And why did Paul? Was that a waste of time? Should we fear God who can send us to hell as it says in the Bible?
Here's a page of verses related to running the race, etc. But if the battle is already won then why would any of this be written in the Bible and why would it be needed? Link
Is it conceivable that a lot of people will be surprised they aren't allowed into heaven? Even Christians who thought they were 'good people'? Who cried out Lord, Lord... and begged and rationalized. I think the reality is one group sometimes can rest in God's grace more, but the other group should be afraid of going to hell, should get their act together, should obey Jesus, should not follow the world of sin anymore. Jesus said to avoid sin, not enjoy sin. Satan is giving people fake news and people are believing it. Matthew 7:21
2 Corinthians 5:10 - all will have to face judgment, including Christians who assume they're saved, before salvation is actually given.
We will always need to wait for judgment day to be saved, not here on earth. We were set up to fail, and must die to be made whole.
Finding a personal relationship with Jesus does not make anyone impervious to sin. Being "saved" can be a vehicle to proper behavior, a way to self reflect on how weak the flesh is.
You can only be born-again through resurrection.

Knowing that God warned and punished both houses of Israel for backsliding, adds richness to your point. God said he would punish them seven times (7 x 360 day for a year = 2,520 years) for disobedience.
The house of Israel (10 tribes) were taken captives by Assyria in 721 BC + 2,520 = 1800 Briton, "the isles of the sea"
The house of Judah (3 tribes) were taken captives by Babylon in 604 BC + 2,520 = 1917 Balfour Declaration

Jesus uses the phrase "Son of Man" to acknowledge His humanity. He is both God and man. He is the the perfect High Priest in that He is a man that can understand our weaknesses and struggles and He is the Son of God who is the only one that knows the thoughts of God. Also, He had to be a man to carry our sins on the cross of Calvary. His humanity is very important.

Gen.15;1-12.
Vs 6: And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Vs 8:And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
VSES. 9-12. And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
God put Abraham to sleep and entered the covenant alone. only God can break it. ISSAC WAS PROMISED!! AS WELL AS WE!
Galatians 4:28. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 'Unconditional!
Vs 26-27:But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
LOOK AT THOSE UNDER THE LAW IN-
VS 25. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. MT SINAI IS A MT YOU COULD NOT TOUCH! ( COULD'NT KEEP ) THE LAW WAS GIVEN THERE.
GEN. 22 Abraham offered up his only begotten promised son, because he believed in the previous promise/covenant. AND KNEW GOD WOULD HAVE TO RAISE HIM FROM THE DEAD.
Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Of whom it was said, "That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
The crucifixion of Christ played out.

Israel had a hardened heart. Which is the condition to all men without the "NEW" heart given by the Lord when saved.
( Hebrews 4:2-3. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.)
( For we which have believed do enter into rest,) as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Jude 1:5. answers itself, " they believe not' ( Was not saved )
James 2:21&26.
21:Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
26:For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James is speaking of works "AFTER" salvation not for salvation.
Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 2:13. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. This is what James 2:21 is speaking of.
Hebrews 6:12-19, and James 2:21.
These are 2 seperate accounts of Abraham in Hebrews 6:12-16 and James 2:21-23.
"Hebrews the promise was Issac confirmed by an oath". Played out in Gen. 15:1-12.
James was "Abraham having faith in THAT promise". Played out in Gen. 22:1-14.
