    Dear Brother Adam,

Thank you for pointing out that Jesus summarized the commandments when questioned down to two of the most important things that we should do. Love God, and love others. So simple! I agree, and if we can be consistent in that, we will basically be living a good Christian life according to Jesus.

    God bless

Hi Glenn - just responding to you after watching that video. To Charles credit, his knowledge of the Word & of history and his charismatic vibrant manner was quite compelling to watch & I enjoyed what he presented.

Even though his presentation was probably to a group already familiar with his teaching having received more of the background from his other messages, I was intently listening out for those basic elements (i.e. a systematic teaching) to support his position on the keeping of the Law & in particular the Sabbath Day. He came close to it by quoting Ezekiel 20:11-16, suggesting that observance of the Sabbath was a sign, so I became excited hoping for an explanation of how that sign given to Israel was then transposed onto the Gentiles, particularly the Church consisting of both Jew & Gentile. But was left bereft. And the other aspects of his message on the Antichrist, Rome's involvement, etc. were interesting but couldn't be substantiated since the groundwork wasn't dealt with.

So if I had already come with the same understanding as him on this matter, I would have left satisfied & confirmed in my belief. But since I came seeking Scriptures & appropriate exegesis on how that which was given specifically to Israel & none other, came to be conferred upon Gentiles, I received none. Of course, he would have needed to address the specifics of the Covenants & somehow show from Scripture that what was given before did apply post-Cross. And that would have taken some working through & probably outside the parameter of that message.

So Glenn, thank you for that - I did enjoy listening to Charles, but didn't find my question answered there. Maybe you know of another video that will deal with that fundamental aspect that seems to form a clear division amongst believers. Blessings.

I will cut away that which covers the sin. The heart that only wishes to deceive! The heart deceitful from its youth! How we neglect the inside and make the outside perfect! Are not these the words of our Christ? This heart that will not be faithful in little, how can it be faithful in much! Sin, is the infection that besets us. How can you keep the law? By breaking it? This one , whom you have rejected ,has become the head of the corner! "Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." The grinding will take time, but when it is finished it will be complete! If you do not belong to him, you need not worry, for your destination is confirmed! Repent and be baptized!

That was a timely word & testimony Mishael - thank you for reminding us again that the Holy Spirit still gives God's children gifts as you have received & shared & with an added blessing of interpretation of that tongue of praise. It should come as a reminder to us not to discount what the Spirit can do in us & through us, & to be very careful not to condemn His Gifts lest we be found to blaspheme Him ( Mark 3:28-30).

About this longevity, About Moses. Typological errors in the bible or could be from SATAN WHO BENT HIS LIFE TO CONFUSE THE CHILDREN OF GOD OR THE WORK OF THE

Type setters or type writers made of iron and have no life in themselves, so they can make mistakes.

The original scripts were Holy Spirit guided by d writers who were Holy Spirit filled then.

I show u one example from the Bible and work it out itself

    Moses and d Israelites

    God told Abraham

    Genesis 15.13

13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years

Moses appeared before Pharaoh at 80 years old

    King James Bible

And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh

In Exodus 12:40 we read: The dwellings of the children of Israel that they dwelt in Egypt were 430 years. Verse 41 reiterates that after 430 years all the legions of God left Egypt. The verse seems to be stating a non-debatable historical fact. That is, that the Children of Israel were in Egypt for 430 years before their Exodus.

    (Q) 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old(R) when he died, yet his eyes were not weak(S) nor his strength gone.(T) 8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab(U) thirty days,(V) until the time of weeping and mourning(W) was over.

    Work it out ur self

If the Israeli completed 400 years according to God in Genesis 15.13

Then they spent another 30 years for whatever it was. Which Moses spent with them after God sent him to pharaoh and he was 80 years old when he appeared before Pharaoh, died at 120 years, how can this be right except for typography error. I didn't know this but d Holy Spirit highlighted it to me. There r many of these errors in d bible, it only takes d Holy Spirit to point it out to u when u need them.

Work of the Holy Spirit to remind us what has past, present and future John chapter 16.

TO: ADDING or TAKING AWAY from the SCRIPTURES on Nehemiah 8

TWO COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS: You are exactly right, Matthew 5:16 (Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.) What kind of light are true, born again, Christians showing by fighting over a day. If we take our sabbath on Saturday, Sunday, or even Wednesday, it is sabbath to that person. Philippians 2:12 ( Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.) Romans14:5 (One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.) 1 Peter 3:8 (Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:)

Thanks for that post and God Bless.

    Pat,

The US = Mystery Babylon: No other country is close to Sodom and Gomorrah than America.

The Beast = Russia: No other country fits the description like Russia. The characteristics of the beast shouts Russia:

    1) "More stout than his fellows". Russia has 11 time zones ( Daniel 7:20).

    2) He is the 8th and is of the 7. Russia is, was the 8th G8 member and is of the G7 ( Revelation 17:20).

    3) In 1991 the USSR suffered a "deadly wound", which has been healed into the Russian Federation. The people will marvel at Russia ( Revelation 13:3).

    4) Even though God has always held back Esau (Russia), he will now bring Esau forth with his northern army to destroy Jacob (US/NATO/Israel) ( Ezekiel 38:4).

    5) Obadiah states Esau (Russia) annihilated Jacob (US/Israel) then engaged in destruction beyond Babylon with an "evil thought" ( Ezekiel 38:10), by taking 3 allies from his own camp.

    6) Esau pounds Jacob so badly that the earth is knocked off its axis and wobbles back and forth like a drunkard ( Isaiah 24:20).

    7) The last time Esau and Jacob met up was on the trail, Genesis 33. Jacob was afraid Esau would kill him for stealing his birthright, but instead they exchanged gifts and parted ways.

    8) Esau will make Jacob lean this time around ( Isaiah 24:1-16).

Genesis gives Adam and Eve three children, named Cain, Abel and Seth.

A genealogy tracing the descendants of Cain is given in Genesis 4, while the line from Seth down to Noah appears in Genesis 5.

    Jesus came through Seths bloodline.

Thank you for your reply Michael,

I agree with you that we have the New Covenant now. Surrounding Jesus Christ our Lord and receiving the Holy Spirit of promise Ephesians 1:7-14. It seems we agree on everything. I read the book of Hebrews regularly. As stated that I just think the Ten Commandments are "good". Just a beginning. Not that we are under the law of the Old Covenant. As I believe brother Chris stated in a post that our righteousness is to exceed them who followed the law Matthew 5:20. Like in the statement I made as to where I strive to keep every day Holy not just one a week. So he who thinks the Sabbath should be on a Saturday really doesn't matter. Jesus stating that even being angry with thy brother is in danger or who just looks on a woman to lust after her hath already committed adultery Matthew 5:21-22, Matthew 5:27-28.

When Jesus Christ gave the two greatest commandments to hang all the law and the prophets. He was quoting Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Leviticus 19:18. Which also being stated by another were not of the Ten Commandments. Pointing to exceed the old law with the new law which is on our hearts and exceedingly vast.

We having been Blessed to receive the Holy Ghost from above whom is our teacher now. Having the Spirit of Christ in us to help us walk as He did, and follow after Him, as He is the only way to the Father. Living for the Will of our Father in Heaven doing what pleases Him. Producing good fruit in the Spirit. John 8:29.

If I had to choose which Testament is more important I would most definitely choose the NT. Though the OT has many, many, things that are still very important. Also things that are really of no avail to us. Just letting the Spirit guide us to the righteous and important things in the OT. Even with the Apocrypha books and the Book of Enoch. As they have things in them that connect directly to the teachings in the Holy Bible. Let the Spirit guide us to truth. Micah 6:8.

    God Bless you Michael

Hi Rich. That's a good question & the answer is found in that chapter. If you read the whole chapter, you'll see from verse 1 that Peter is speaking about the false prophets & false teachers that would enter the Church - they would appear as 'normal' Christians but their objective would be to bring in their false doctrines & teaching & bring the Church to ruin. And Peter highlights some of their many sins & deceptions in several verses, especially verses 13-19.

Now there are always opportunities for apostates or reprobates to repent & turn back to the Lord & follow the true path, but often, these false teachers were so embedded in their false beliefs & sins that issued out from them, that they never found any need to change. And such were these infiltrators that would come into the Church. They certainly had knowledge of Christ & the holy Faith, but that knowledge kept them from salvation, from hearing the warnings of God's Spirit, & entrenched in their sins. So Peter says in verse 21: "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

This chapter harmonizes with Hebrews 6:4-6, where the Hebrews writer also speaks of those who had received light, partaking of the Spirit's benefits & of the good Word, yet they ultimately turned their backs to God. The writer was referring particularly to those Jews (as the Letter title suggests) who after tasting of the good things of Christ, left it all to return back to Judaism. They weren't saved, just as those in Peter's letter, & so the Word is true that says, "By their fruits ye shall know them" ( Matthew 7:20). A person who is not "in Christ" & Christ in them will soon have his true motives & sins exposed & so Peter's warning to the Church to beware of such people who bring teaching inconsistent to what they were taught ( 2 Peter 1:4-8). May you be blessed as you study God's Word further, Rich.

    John 1:1-4, 14

In the beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten (SON) of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  • Mishael - In Reply on Nehemiah 8 - 4 years ago
I really struggled whether to make a comment. I guess this is one we'll have to wait till we get to heaven.

I have spent wonderful Fridays with Messiah believing Jewish friends observing Shabbat rituals. It's beautiful. They are so reverent and welcoming.

I've had great experiences, from one faith to another. All different, but all done in a worshipful manner. Times, and cultures differ. If Jesus is the one being worshipped, I don't have a problem.

I was in Church at Passover with a mixed crowd: Gentiles and Jews. I was praying in an unknown language. Afterwards, the Jewish couple sitting next to me, asked, do you know what you were saying? I said no. They asked, do you want to know? I said yes. The woman said, you were praising God in Hebrew. Blew my socks down. I don't know the Hebrew language.

When I have prayed in the Spirit, with my spirit; I don't know what I'm saying. The Holy Spirit does: He gives the unction, and my spirit is refreshed. It's really an act of obedience for ME. Our carnal minds think it's silly because we don't know what is being said.

Everybody is different! It takes courage to follow the Holy Spirit, where he wants to go. I don't debate it. I just want to be where He is. He's the 3rd person of the Godhead; He performed His part in Creation. He raised Jesus from the tomb. He is all over the earth now bringing new believers to trust in Jesus. How can anyone not want to be a part of that?

    It's pure trust.

Kinda like when they take your driver license picture. You want a good one to show friends. But we get what they give to us...sometimes a 45mph wind gust and no comb!

It's all good. Love to all

Thank you Pat. I did read through all the passages you suggested. I see that you've taken this discussion to the 'beast', the Antichrist, & left off the Ten Commandments.

I've considered your analysis of the Scriptures you gave but I remain mystified as to how you have placed America in there. If one wanted to place a country as the Antichrist, could there not be many other countries that would fit the bill? What do you see in America that is different from the rest (e.g. the U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, etc.)? Don't these other countries also have apostasy, laws/courts/parliaments, compulsion to follow prescribed laws, etc.? As far as being forced to worship/recant their faith or be killed, this is already going on in some countries & some religions & fortunately not in America (yet), but no evidence of the beast has surfaced anywhere that I can see. The spirit of Antichrist might be at work all over the world by the workings of Satan, but his revelation has not happened yet.

So, I'm wondering how you have determined this, when the Scriptures don't mention a country, rather, likely a person who sets himself up as God in the temple at Jerusalem demanding worship ( 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4). And yes, his power & influence would no doubt spread throughout the world. But to place America as the beast, would need a high degree of speculation & would necessarily have to include the possibilities of other nations that behave similarly.
  • When is Sabbath - In Reply on Exodus 15 - 4 years ago
When religious leaders accused JESUS of breaking the Sabbath because his disciples plucked some grain and ate it as they walked through a field, he said: "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath" ( Mark 2:27-28)

Constantine (Roman) set Sabbath on Sunday.

Jewish tradition, Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday, and is attended on Saturday.

My advise: Google this and read all the opinions. My choice is what Jesus said above.
  • Chris - In Reply on Nehemiah 8 - 4 years ago
And just to add: I think that this 'rigorous' discussion should not put anyone 'off' as it could be vital for some to learn & discern what this matter is all about. They might be struggling with the same issue: about the old Law & of the Sabbath in particular. I feel that the threads (thus far) have been very amicable & understanding, even with some emotion expressed. And this is good to see the conviction of believers, when Christendom is filled with pawns without any conviction or understanding, led away by all types of teaching. May the Word of God bring us light on this very important matter. And of course, the Admins can certainly close the thread if they suspect wrongdoing. Every blessing brother.

  • Chris - In Reply on Nehemiah 8 - 4 years ago
Hi Mishael. It can't be argued in what you have just shared, as obedience to the Lord, a deep love for Him & to all people must be our focus & to where our energies are directed.

But in these threads you refer to lies a problem with correct biblical hermeneutics. Ordinarily, we can agree to differ on our understanding of the Scriptures without too much of a catastrophe (e.g. Christ's second coming, did Jesus actually spend three days in the grave, etc, etc.). But what we have here is about the applicability of the Decalogue to the believer in Christ, & in particular the 4th Commandment (which somehow takes a degree of precedence over the other nine), should be of concern to each of us. The apostles had to wrestle over this as it was important to keep the believers' new life in Christ distinct from the old life (if they were Jews) under the Law which revealed their sin, their incapability to keep the Law & which only brought death ( Romans 7:5,6). So it was never a case of whether we should obey God's commandments - we all must obey. It's a case of whether our appeal to obey is to what was the "ministration of death, written & engraven in stones" rather than to the "ministration of the Spirit" which is of greater glory ( 2 Corinthians 3:6-8) & for which Jesus died & ushered in the New Covenant with God. If righteousness (a believer's right standing before God) could be achieved by the Law, then indeed Christ has died in vain ( Galatians 2:21).

In other words, & with all concern, can a believer stand before God & claim obedience to the Ten Commandments & especially the 4th Commandment, & not expect rebuke? He might believe that he can stand with head held high, being sealed with the 4th, & then sees the Lamb that was slain Who put aside forever any cause for condemnation which came by the Law ( Romans 8:1-4). It's not about the beauty of God's Laws - it's about it's applicability & the Spirit's Work to reveal all of God's Laws to us & give us power to perform them.
