Acts 2:37-38 KJV., what Israel(Jews) must do. Acts 10:44:48 KJV., the Holy Spirit(Ghost) given to the Gentiles(Greeks). In verse. 8, Peter commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ). Jews and Gentiles were baptized by water in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ). Acts 15:5-9 KJV., question at issue(Gentiles being circumcised). In Verse 7 Peter is speaking Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. In Acts 2 Peter used the keys(Jesus gave him the keys in Matthew 16:19 KJV.) first for the Jews, and in Acts 10 second, in the house of Cornelius for the Gentiles)(but Paul was distinctively(plainly) the apostle of the Gentiles, Gal. 2:7,8).

Paul speaking( 1Corinthians 15:1-10). Not only being filled with the Holy Ghost, Saul/Paul was baptized with water in the name of the Lord(Jesus Christ).

Saul's/Paul's Conversion: Acts 9:17-19 KJV; Paul's Defense before the multitude: recounts his conversion. Acts 22:11-16; Paul's defense before Agrippa. Acts 26:9-18. In verse. 18, that they may receive forgiveness of sins( Romans 3:23)

1 Corinthians 3:5-8 KJV: 5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6. I(Paul) have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase(Holy Ghost) 7. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase(Holy Ghost). 8. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

1 Timothy 1:1 KJV Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope. Think about this, what is the father's name on a Birth Certificate? What name is the child born into physically? See 1John5:1-20

Thank you Michael for that clear & concise response. If the foundations of biblical teaching or doctrine are not properly laid, the building cracks will develop & bring destruction. I find that many Christians, whether because of Church teaching or from their own surmisings, look at Scriptures such as John 14:15 & immediately apply the obedience to the Law for all people, that which was given only to Israel.

To do so, several things have to be overlooked or rejected: to whom was God speaking in the OT & to whom was Jesus speaking prior to His crucifixion? Only to Israel, none else. Gentiles weren't even in the picture pertaining to the Law & never have been. What was the reason for giving the Law? God's code of conduct (spiritual, moral & social) for His people, His Mark of separation from the heathen - Leviticus 26:46, (as also with circumcision: Genesis 17:10), & to demonstrate to Israel a godly standard that as sinners they could never fully obey ( Galatians 3:21-26).

But then we get verses such as Matthew 5:17-19 which are often used to support the eternal nature & applicability of the Law to all people. To those under the Law, indeed, the Law is current & will be used against them. To those who have escaped the curse of the Law & have found new life in Christ, have learned that Christ has indeed fulfilled all the Law, forever abrogating it & thru His Death ushered in a new & better Covenant ( Hebrews 8:6-13).

What then do we do with Scriptures (e.g. 1 John 5:2,3) that say we must obey God's commandments? Are John & others pointing the believer back to the letter of the Law that kills or rather to the Spirit Who gives life ( 2 Corinthians 3:6)? It is the Spirit's Law in our hearts that frees us from the Law of sin & death ( Romans 8:2). To give consent to both, that which is opposed to each other, weakens (even negates) the power of the New Covenant through Christ's Blood & the keeping of the Sabbath ever stands as a centrepiece to cause both error & division.

Pat, I checked all those references you shared but couldn't find anything pertaining to the 'future mark of the beast' as associated with those who would worship on a Sunday. The Seal of God as I understand it, is what believers receive by the Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1:13), sealing them as children of God & there doesn't seem to be any reference to Sabbath-keepers. Could you enlighten me further? Thank you.

  • S Spencer - In Reply on Matthew 24:3 - 4 years ago
I like to word it like this.

Jesus didn't come to destroy the law. He came to free us from the law which slew us. he came to take the penalty of not being able to keep the law. " Which freed us from the curse of the law which worked in our members.

He gave us his spirit to accomplish what the law could not do. ( Read Romans Ch 6.)

Galatians 5:13-14. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I guess you can say he put an end of trying to live by the law for means of salvation. "Judaism"

but the commandments shows that you need a savior.

    God bless

Zedekiah was a man that feared for his life instead he should have been fearing God bc at the end if we don't repent and come back to Christ we are doomed anyway. Bc God is the only one that can save of from our enemies.

    Hi Christine.

The Church is a body of people called out of the world "SEPARATED" the "Lords assembly"

by the means of the Gospel.

    1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

    For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

    BEGINING:

Some say the church started at the crucifixion of Christ.

Others say at pentecost (The feast of Shavuot.) when he filled them with the spirit.

    ENDING.

The Rapture when he takes the assembly of believers out of the world which can happen any day. We are told to be ready when he comes.

I hope that helps. God bless you.

    Dear Brother Michael,

I will agree that many of the old ceremonial laws, including animal sacrifices, and other old customs that were previously required have been eliminated because they are no longer required in order to receive God's forgiveness, as it was during the old testament days before Christ.

Christ became the sacrificial lamb. God gave us the ultimate gift and total sacrifice of his Son Jesus Christ. And now, through Christ we can be forgiven and saved.

You quoted Paul in Colossians 2:16

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

True no man can judge another. The judging will be performed by Christ. But this scripture you quoted above does not eliminate the need to follow God's 4th commandment! This scripture simply states they we should not judge one another. You conveniently pulled out the word Sabbath and then you interpret it to mean we can eliminate the need to follow the 4th commandment! I read and understand this scripture in a different way than you. To me, it means if a brother or sister does not keep the Sabbath we are not to judge them.....Christ will judge.

    Romans 14:10

"But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."

We will all eventually be judged by Christ. I will continue to believe and strive to follow God's 10 Commandments, including the 4th Commandement: Keep Holy the Sabbath. God's 10 commandments will always exist, until heaven and earth pass.....this is from the mouth of Jesus Christ.

    Matthew 5:18

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

You have quoted the apostle Paul in scripture regarding the Sabbath, and I am quoting Jesus. If there is a conflict between them I will respectfully defer to Jesus.

    God Bless

1 John 4:3 "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

(According to this verse, the antichrist was already present in the 1st century when the Apostle John wrote the verse. Therefore, the antichrist is not someone who is going to appear on the world stage in the near future but that has been around since the time of the Apostle John - false teachers are the antichrist.)

1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."

1 John 2:22 "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."

2 John 1:7 "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."

My dear friend the mark of the best is Sunday observance, however, individual who presently worship on Sunday, DO NOT have the mark of the beast. Individual receive the mark of the beast ONLY after Sunday observance has been set up by Law. You can read Revelation 14:9-12; 13:7; 17:6; 17:9

The mark in the forehead is the seal of God. His 7th day Sabbath. Be blessed. Other texts: Daniel 7: 23 - 25; 13: 1-6

There have been many throughout the years that have made claims that the RCC is the "false church" referenced in the bible.

While there is no direct evidence of this, there are many compelling theories.

I hold no ill will towards the RCC followers, however I will say that the RCC as an establishment has a questionable and dark past.

For an entity that is supposed to represent G_D's will on earth, I can't quite see how a history of oppression and systematic destruction of all who question or have a difference of opinion can be reconciled with his will.

I am not an expert on the subject, by any stretch of the imagination but even I can see they are at odds with G_D's true word.

Then again I have issues with organized religion as a whole. Anytime you take something pure and add human nature and money into the equation it gets corrupted.

Religion is no exception, Over the centuries it has been twisted and bastardized to fit whatever narrative man has needed it to in order to get other men to follow the "rules".

Whatever those "rules" were at that particular time period.

Fear has always been a great motivator, and there is no greater fear then going to hell for some people.

The RCC has the "Hell and damnation" market cornered, over the years they have become de-facto experts on using the fear of those to keep their followers in line.

Inventing a "devil" in order to do that wouldn't be out of line for them, but then again they are the only ones with the evidence and they aren't talking.

I digress, this is just my $0.02 so take it for what it's worth....or maybe we could ask Dan Brown for his expert opinion. (

The four beasts of revelations in John's visions, if my understanding is right were angels in their true forms similar to the way Enoch saw them.

If this is true, why does scripture refer to them as beasts and not angels?

Hello Dan. Thank you for your response.

Jesus himself was born under the Mosaic Law and, therefore, was required to keep the Mosaic Law. That is why he was circumcised on the eight day as per the Mosaic Law. Notice that in the following verse. Jesus was made (or born) under the law - the Mosaic Law.

Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,"

As long as that Mosaic Law was in force, the Mosaic Law (the so-called Old Testament) was in force. Jesus therefore kept his Father's commandments of that Mosaic Law. But, the Holy Scriptures has said that God would set up a New Covenant that would not be like the Old Covenant. Notice...

Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:" "Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:"

It was not the Apostle Paul who changed God's Law to his people - it was God himself as per Jeremiah 31:31. However, the Apostle Paul, writing under inspiration of God, gave the first-century Church the new directives or laws governing that New Covenant. He never instructed the Christian Churches of the first-century to keep the Mosaic Law such as circumcision or the sabbaths. In fact, he instructed them the complete opposite. Notice again...

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

You cannot judge a Christian for not keeping the sabbath days - as per the New Covenant that has been set up between God and his present-day people - the Church of God.

I welcome your further thoughts, Dan. Good day.

    Hi Barnum,

You stating "if you add to who Jesus Christ is then you create another Jesus, another gospel and another Spirit". That's pretty vague. Could you please be a little more decisive in what you mean?

Also as you basically condemn "if you add to Jesus Christ". What happens if you take away from Him?

What is this "new doctrine that is made by men and false"?

    Thank you for your time.
