  • Chris - In Reply on Nehemiah 3 - 4 years ago
Eric, it was generally accepted that Ezra arrived at Jerusalem before Nehemiah, though in the late 19th Century AD, there was a proposal that it was Nehemiah who came first, then Ezra. This was based on the fact that it was King Artaxerxes II ruling & not Artaxerxes I ( Ezra 7:7,8).

However, I understand that Jews don't accept that & it was Ezra who came first under Artaxerxes I. As you probably know, both the Books of Ezra & Nehemiah were originally read as one book in Hebrew; after Zerubbabel came first (under Cyrus), the Temple building had stopped because of opposition. Then under Darius, the temple work restarted ( Ezra 5:2) & finally completed ( Ezra 6:15). Then Ezra came with the next migration of the exiles & after him, Nehemiah came (for the building of the wall) with the third return of the exiles. So this timeline seems to fit well as Ezra, as priest, would have continued to serve with the other priests & Levites at the temple while Nehemiah attended to rebuilding the wall surrounding the city.

One lesson Jesus may be teaching is patience for others that don't see the details as clearly as you. Those whom Christ has called sometimes have a distorted view of Christ and others, but be patient with them don't discount them God is not through with them. Christ is still working with them. His work is not finished yet. Pray for them that God's mercy and grace lead them to repentance by faith and they would see the wonderful riches of God's kingdom. That they would experience the fullness of a Christlike life.

look up "I am the righeousness of God in Jesus Christ" in the KJV window, main page. All goodness and righteousness is is of Christ, never of our own goodness. Even the good things Paul did he counted as loss in order to gain the righteousness that was his through Jesus Christ...... Your past is wiped clean, in Him. As you believe, God looks upon you and sees his Son, not your failures. I have made countless mistakes in my life, and every time I was aware of it, the realization of God's mercy melted me, and made me fall in love with my Lord even more..... Blessings to you Aaron, I had to lose my entire family at one point, and I became willing for that if it needed to be, but it is all being restored in Him......

    Sam,

You are so right. God is Love. By being loving and being kind to others, we represent Jesus the best way possible.

The visible world is where we stand and love others, inside of.

The invisible world must be discerned. We need to be alert. Good, evil; angels and demonic are all in the same landscape.

Jesus said he has overcome the world. We are overcomers through His life. And we are wise children, mild as doves; just like Our Savior is.

    Peace be upon us. Mishael.

Blessed Mother's Day upon everyone who nurtures a child in their life.

Sadly, so many are so unlearn that we have a tense to Judge so quickly tell we can't understand. The law was set for the children, Isreal. If we read the word of God carefully, Abraham had two wives, Jacob had two wives, King Davis had two wives, and so owned this was a comma practice in the early days. In New Testament, the Gentiles that were all baptized in Jesus' name was all Die in the watery grave was all risen in newness. 1 Corinthian 7: 10-16 explain. Now for the two wives, which was a practice in the early church, this is one reason why the Office of a Bishop must have one wife. Remember in your study what happens between Sarah and Haggi Jacob Rachel and Leah. I want to go into greater detail, but some of my teaching you will find in The Word of Truth Ministry.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

    Hi Sam,

Just to put in my perception of this issue you brought up. If you want to greet people with a new word thinking it is going to do something better feel free. Do you really feel that shows more love to others? Though in my eyes it really does nothing.

Are we not to love in deed and in truth from the heart? Not just from the mouth in where saying "I love you" to someone so much may become empty. It may become just as empty faith. What matters is if you are showing your love to that person in life in deeds/kindness etc. Not just words. Isaiah 29:13, James 2:14-18.

We must come to the realization that the entire English language was put together by "pagan" people. There are many, many, words that may have some meaning to them. Though to us it is just a word in our language.

Truly I would not give so much thought to using the word "hello". As I saw you said people should change their names if it has "hel" in it? How can you stop there? What about the word "help"? A new word for that too? You might as well make a whole new language. If that makes you feel good have fun. Please don't think using certain normal words in a kind way does anything wrong.

Thinking that way would just be going down a rabbit hole with no end. Focus more on the Word of God and doing the will of our Father in Heaven.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life!

    God Bless you Sam.

I'm trying to figure out if this is after Ezra or during. Sounds like during as Ezra was rebuilding, but the adversaries had the King cease the rebuild, but later finished the build. But the build with Ezra was the temple not Jerusalem.

  • Adam - In Reply on Romans 13:4 - 4 years ago
Why do you assume no one in the Bible was ever baptized in father, son, holy ghost? I bet most people were. Just because something isn't quoted in the Bible doesn't mean something didn't happen. For instance, the Bible never says Jesus took a bath or used the restroom, but it's not illogical to assume He did, in fact, it would be illogical to assume He didn't.
  • Chris - In Reply on Wisdom of Solomon 1 - 4 years ago
Others here have given you some lovely Scriptures on Wisdom & advice. However, I suspect that you might be thinking of a biblical book that is not found in the KJV Bible. This would be the Wisdom of Solomon which is what is considered an Apocryphal Book, i.e. a book (of which there are many) that was deemed unworthy to be included in the canon of Scripture.

If you need to look at this book, then this Website provides it (& others), under the Tab "More" and then click on 'Standard KJB Apocrypha'. These apocryphal books did not meet the standards set by those who formed the Canon of Scripture & even the Jews, though accepting of many of their written & oral traditions, held doubts over these apocryphal (= hidden) books as authoritative.

Simply put using the Bible translation of the NLT...

James 1:5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

My name is Lillie. I am a victim of satanic ritual abuse at the hands of my freemason dad, my mother and my brothers. I am also what is called a targeted individual who is gang stalked by my community. The new world order depopulation agenda has come to my small town and I have lost many friends and relatives already, most recently my friend Terrance. I ask for prayers for his family, mine, my community, my enemies and for protection prayers for myself. I would like for everyone to know what I am up against here as I seek deliverance because due to my own personal experience where God used evil for good to show myself, my hometown and even some unbelievers the truth, this has become possibly detrimental to my own salvation. My spiritual path is often distracted from and blocked and I think that my body won't hold up much longer. Because of all of the physical attacks from dozens of witches and my privacy stolen from many, many more, I am certain that these are the end times and my sincere prayer is that each and every one who reads this will repent and turn from sin and put on the full armor of God. Thank you for your prayers.

How can we find the fulfillment of an OT verse marked with white star, and black star fulfillment in NT?
  • Sam - In Reply on Romans 13:4 - 4 years ago
    Hi,

    Thanks for your comments!

God tell us not to be conform to the ways of the carnal world!

Just because the people in the world speak a certain way doesn't, make it right!

"Therefore come out from their midst and be separate, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean, and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17

    Romans 13:8

You give more glory to The Lord, Jesus Christ, when you greet people with "LoveO". God Is LOVE.

Faith worketh by Love." Galatians 5:6

The powerful armor God works by Love. Love never fails!

    Ephesians 6:11-17

    11. "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."

    12. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

    13. "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

    "

    14. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place"

    15. "And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace."

    16. "In addition to all this, take up the Shield of Faith, with this you are able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."

    17. "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is The Word of God.

Dixie, the closest passage that comes to mind in the NT is found in James 1:19: "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath". But this verse would apply generally, that a person ought to listen first & then speak and certainly in the case with God, that we would always have our ears inclined towards Him.

We see the division of the Land of Canaan "by lot" quite often, beginning at Joshua 13:6: "All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee."

We're not told how Joshua made the "division of the land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh" (v7), whether by a Word from God or by simply dividing up the land & allocating portions to the tribes of Israel (not forgetting that Levi, Manasseh & Ephraim received no allocation). Maybe, the tribes that received their portions had some say as to where they would prefer to settle on the western side of the Jordan River. So to 'divide by lot' in this case, would mean to allocate the land to the various tribes, whether by 'lottery' or specifically according to the tribes' preferences.

Hi Merlinda. Many have wondered why Pharaoh & the Egyptians were treated so harshly by God, when prior to sending out the various plagues we often read that God had hardened Pharaoh's heart.

We first see that Pharaoh was an evil man, a brutal dictator who also enslaved the Israelites with terrible abuse & oppression. As well, he believed that he was a god or at least, an intermediary to the pantheon of gods (even as the people considered the pharaohs) & there was none their equal. So Pharaoh could say, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go." ( Exodus 5:2). So Pharaoh's heart was already opposed & hardened towards the God Whom Moses & Aaron represented as we also see in some references: Exodus 7:22; 8:15,19,32; 9:7,34,35.

So when we read that it was God Who hardened the Pharaoh's heart ( Exodus 4:21; 7:3; etc.), we have to conclude that indeed God did affect Pharaoh's heart against Him, but his heart was already hard & stubborn & God simply ensured that his heart would remain so during the time of affliction & punishment. God could well have done this to remind Pharaoh who this God of Moses was, the mightier works that He can do than what Pharaoh's magicians could do & how grossly wicked Pharaoh's acts were against the Israelites that warranted such stern punishment. Yet, God was still merciful in sparing the Egyptians lives, in spite of their suffering & loss of human life.

What should have been a repentance & softening of Pharaoh's heart, remained hard & this hardness was then made harder by God proving His Power over the Egyptians & His Love for His people, Israel, to free them from tyranny. Romans 9:17: "For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth." cf Exodus 9:16.
