    Hi Tom,

I wanted to correct another passage.

I'm batting a thousand so far in misprints and bad spelling.

It seems I got off track with the very first letter, the He should have read "We"

and again the 2nd word of course is hear.

    It should read:

We hear the Lord with the inner ear.

    Thank you.

    Hi Spinnz,

It seemed I left out a dozen words in my last passage,

It's clear the scripture tells us to be of one mind, And we may have to reprove one another but NOT rule over one another AND WE SHOULD WELCOME IT. ( being reproved )

We're taught to wash one another's feet, Hold one another accountable to righteousness Christian living, and SOUND DOCTRINE.

Some may despise reproof, There false doctrines is strategic, well sought out and Satan inspired, These are the spots mentioned in Jude 1:12. that feast with us.

Thanks for letting me clear up my bad penmanship.

    God bless.

    Hello,

I'm trying to find an in print (not on computer) 1611 King James Version Bible WITH the Apocrypha. I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for. The Ryrie study Bible was recommended but I'm not sure it includes the Apocrypha.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In reply to " The 1st commandment is to LOVE God not fear him"

The Bible says many times to fear God. The Bible doesn't say to "not" fear God as you put it. 1 John 4:18 seems to suggest love and fear and opposites. Maybe these are mutually exclusive when it comes to how we treat others, but maybe God in an exception. The Bible clearly says to love God and clearly says to fear God. Therefore, I'm inclined to believe that it's both. Some say the fear means a high level of respect rather than a petrified fear. If anyone wants to compare the original Hebrew or Greek to see if its the same word or not, that might be helpful.

    Proverbs 9:10, Ephesians 5:21, Jeremiah 32:39, Luke 12:5, Leviticus 25:17.

Richard, I would like to ask a favour. I don't know how to look up a word in Greek. Would you please look up the Greek word "torments" used in Luke 16:23 and tell me how many other places it appears and how it is applied. Thank you.

Hi Rawlie, I have visited many different denominations and my opinion is denominations divide the body of Christ. It turns the believers into belonging to a named religion, they hold the name of their denomination in pride saying I am a______, or I am a______, not I am a believer in Jesus Christ. We make it like colors, I like red, you like green, and she likes blue, who's right where is truth? The truth turns into an opinion or preference not what is true. I know there are Councils of Churches working to bring unity in Christianity. The churches when the scriptures were written had names of the cities, they were not named by the different beliefs they had. The one verse in the chapter you referred, I feel people did not observe so they created each different denomination.

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

I do not know any scripture for ecumenism.

    Hi Tom.

He here the Lord with the inner ear.

The Lord speaks to his "CHURCH" by the spirit.

REVELATION 2:29. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

JOHN 10:27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

HEBREWS 1:1-2. God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

    Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

If God decides to speak Audible it would take the spirit to reveal truth.

The inner ear is the work of the Holyspirit revealing that truth.

We have to be cautious of seeking an experience whether by sight or hearing or miracles and rely on faith in God's word.

Hebrews 11:1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Israel seen and heard "As a Nation " and received external blessings and miracles, deliverance, Promises, and the Gospel.

Hebrews 4:2. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with ""FAITH"" in them that heard it.

    God bless.

Richard, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

I DON'T BELIEVE the scriptures can contradict themselves.

There are hundreds of places in the scriptures that say ALL will worship GOD.

They can not worship God if they are in Hell.

In Ezekiel 5 and Zachariah 13 it says a third will be brought through the fire; Revelation 9:18 says a third are killed by fire, smoke and brimstone. These have to be the same third as in Ezekiel and Zachariah because verse 20 says the rest repented not. This same third is the ones in Revelation 8.

Revelation 19 The whole chapter is about the ones called to the marriage supper. Before we can come to the supper we have to be cleansed. We are cast into the lake of fire (vs 20). We have our flesh destroyed (vs 21). God is no respector of persons. Have we ever been fearful, unbelieving, liars. Revelation 21:8 says all these will have their part in the lake of fire. Did not Christ have victory over DEATH AND THE GRAVE Revelation 20:14 says DEATH AND THE GRAVE were destroyed by the lake of fire.

I BELIEVE ALL THINGS HAVE AN APPOINTED TIME

    Ecclesiastes 3

I believe ALL things are by the will of God; good and bad. His will is always carried out by man; but THE WORKS ARE OF GOD. Therefore GOD will have mercy on ALL; but in HIS appointed TIME.

Jeremiah 2:19 Thine own wickedness shall CORRECT THEE ......

Jeremiah 46:28 ......but I will not make a full end of thee, but CORRECT THEE in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly UNPUNISHED.

Psalms 94:10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall he not CORRECT? ......

FOR MEDITATION: If the damned have a natural body at their resurrection; literal fire will kill them in a few seconds. If they are resurrected with a glorified body: literal fire can't hurt them.

SPIRITUAL FIRE CAN hurt both; natural and glorified.

Hey Sacha I agree, if we start our study with the answer in our mind, what we read will support and confirm the answer even if it is wrong. We operate 85 to 90% in our subconscious mind that we have programed over the years of teachings and from things we have seen and heard. Preconceived ideas block the truth, preconceived ideas create a scotoma, a blind spot. If we are dead set on what a certain scripture means and are unwilling to study to see if we may be wrong, how can the Holy Spirit guide us if we already have the answer. We must open our heart before we study, and profess to not know anything, but profess we believe Jesus through the Holy Spirit will lead and show us the truth. It is a blessing to be shown we were wrong by the light of the truth.

    Sharon,

I don't believe there's a biblical answer to that. I actually had the same thing going on with me recently for over a week where I would wake up at 3:30 am almost every morning. It seemed odd that it would be the same time, give or take a few minutes every night. I am normally a good sleeper and can sleep through the night. What it was for me is that I was stressed out over a few things which I believe were interfering with my sleep.

If you know of anything that you are having stress about, that might be the issue. If it continues, I would maybe consider seeing a doctor. And also, as S Spencer has said, prayer is always a good thing!

Chris , Psalm 37 is all about how we should not evny the apparent prosperity and happiness of the wicked and what their end shall be ,you will notice that nothing is mentioned about them going to hell to be tortured for eternity by hideous demons ,there is more than one Psalm in this vein but its the one that comes straight to mind to me .

The sinner must just disapear into non existence into the earth ,Chris yes ,why is it that anyone should believe that they diserve more than that ? The soul thar sinneth it shall die ,if i were not saved what would i prefer to happen to me after death ,eternal infernal torture by some horrifying demon or to just cease to exist ? The dead know nothing ,no pain no sadness no nothing ,they dont exist and unless they have entered into a covenant relationship with God ,either by circumcision if they are Jewish or baptism if Christian the dead just stay dead . That is what we all deserve because of our sinfullness ,God in His very great and tender mercy ,because He loves us ,devised a means by which we might be reconciled to Him by faith in the life and works and willing sacrifice of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ the Righteous .

I think ive rambled on enough now ,hope you can understand me ok ,im not confident that im always able to express my self clearly ,sorry if im a bit jumbled ,i always know what i want to say but when i read it back it never sounds ok to me .

Notice the blind remain blind , Jesus says leave them alone . They think they know it all because they hear not the word of God .

They establish their own righteousness, thinking its Gods .

But Jesus will say I never knew you , on that day they say Lord Lord .

They had the wrong Lord , they heard not the word of God , but did it their way to suit them .

Deception is so deadly . Take time to hear Gods voice in the Bible or go blindly to ....

I've never heard an audible voice from God if that's what you mean. Sometimes I read the Bible and don't feel anything in particular and don't have any noteworthy impressions, but sometimes I do. I don't think we should seek a feeling in attempt to validate our Christianity, but rather just be obedient and be thankful when God's Word speaks to my heart.

Marijuana is not mentioned to my knowledge. Neither is snorting cocaine. Nevertheless, I don't think it's ok. For one, we are to be part of the body of Jesus and He certainly doesn't approve of living life being high. ( James 4:17) If you know to do good and don't, it's sin to you.

    Hi Spinnz.

What we have here is 2 lessons the Lord is teaching us,

( The Lord washing the disciples feet teaches Humility, and the disciples washing one another's feet emphasize Our walk, "Restoring into fellowship"

( Galatians 6:1. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one IN THE SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS; CONSIDERING THYSELF, lest thou also be tempted.)

John 13:12-17. So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, ""HE SAID UNTO THEM, KNOW YE WHAT I HAVE DONE TO YOU?""

( YE CALL ME MASTER AND LORD: AND YE SAY WELL; FOR SO I AM.

IF I THEN, YOUR LORD AND MASTER, HAVE WASHED YOUR FEET; YE ALSO OUGHT TO WASH ONE ANOTHER'S FEET.)

FOR I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE, THAT YE SHOULD DO AS I HAVE DONE TO YOU.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

IF YE KNOW THESE THINGS, HAPPY ARE YE IF YE DO THEM.

It's clear the scripture tells us to be of one mind, And we may have to reprove one another but rule over, AND WE SHOULD WELCOME IT.

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

    Iron sharpens Iron

    We should welcome it.

    BUT NOT ALL

Studying Jude you will see this has crept into the Church.

Jude 1:8, 12, 16 (KJV) Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

    Jd 1:12. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Jd 1: 16. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

Don't kick against the bricks and Love one another
  • Jesse - In Reply on Philippians 2 - 4 years ago
    Rawlie,

The ecumenical movement has been around for a long time now. This movement talks about unity among believers which sounds great, but if the goal is to bring all denominations and religions together as one, then that is something we must be cautious about.

Ephesians 4:3 says, "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

This tells us to keep the unity. We're already united in Christ. We don't have to make the unity. We're already united. We have to keep the unity. Satan is trying to divide the unity. And even if he succeeds in the human to get us to quarrel and have our differences or whatever, we still have unity in the Spirit. We're still one in Christ.

The theme of Philippians is about fellowship, and what it takes for a believer to have fellowship with other believers. That's the problem that Paul dealt with a lot. We are to tolerate one another in the love of Christ. We are to make it a top priority to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

But to bring all denominations together as one is a bad idea because it will cause problems. In 1 Corinthians 11:19, it says that there must be heresies among us and that division is necessary. The word heresy comes from the root word that means choice. That's what heresy is. It's when I choose to believe that the bible is teaching something that's not in the bible.

Most of the church today is made up of heresies and that's what divides one church from another church. It's why we have so many different denominations. We go over the same scriptures, and one side says "We believe that it says this," and another side will say "Well, we believe it means this!"

It says for it is necessary for there to be heresies. It's interesting that Paul didn't say "There shouldn't be any heresies." There have to be heresies in the church. Why? So that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. Did you know that God ordains division?

Richard, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

I was raised in a baptist church; had numerous close relatives, great grandfathers, uncles and cousins that were and are baptist ministers. Until I was 70 years old I was died in the wool; pro free will, HELL and heaven taught. NONE would have convinced me to be otherwise. God turned my life upside down; or right side up. He shut every door. I live in the house I was born in. My grandparents lived there before my parents. The house is over 100 years old. The house was built before there was rural electricity or indoor plumbing. Over the years electricity and plumbing were added. These were added in the 30's and 40's. About the time I turned 70 the insurance company said they could no longer insure the house without the electrical being updated. I started rewiring the house; no sooner than I had the wiring tore out, a hail storm beat the shingles off the house. Then the cast iron plumbing rusted out allowing sewage to escape under the house. I was living on SS so couldn't fix everything. I had 3 light bulbs over my one chair, a bed and numerous pots and pans to catch leaking roof water and no indoor plumbing or hot water; but LOTS of time. All this the WORKS OF GOD. I would study the bible 18 hours a day seven days a week. God especially caused me to study the prophets and Revelation.

I did this about 5 years. I never read outside information or had other study material other than the KJB and the HOLY SPIRIT. About 10 months ago I started going to my daughter house to read the bible on line. My eyesight isn't so good and I don't like using the 3x reading glasses to see. I didn't know there was a forum like this to discuss the bible. At the end of the parable of the rich man and Lazarus; Jesus said if they want believe the law and prophets they want believe one raised from the dead.

I change my mine because you want find any prophecies of free will, HELL or heaven; only a KINGDOM.

    Hi Sacha,

As I see this comment was directed towards me I shall respond kindly.

I very much understand that people have their own beliefs. I respect that as even some of my brothers in Christ do not agree with everything I state. I don't condemn anyone. Though truth is what is most important to me. Please don't take that in that I think I'm smart. I am a humble person.

I myself have gone through believing that "everyone is to be saved" in the end. Thinking in the same sense of in your other post in that "God is love". As I've stated to Earl this would not bother me as whatever God's Will is I'm for that. Though that perspective did not hold up very long. As Christ teaches about "saved and unsaved" over ten times. Using statements of eternal punishment and eternal life. Eternal being the same Greek word "aionios" meaning just that in both cases.

I just really see it as if we say there is a hell and there really isn't, what wrong have we done in that many have come to repentance seeing these things being taught in the Holy Scriptures. Maybe making some be better people by fearing God as we are taught to do and this is the beginning of wisdom.

Though stating to people there is no hell, or eternal damnation/torment, and there really is. Maybe that made that person not care what they did and, live in sin and iniquity, not caring about anything or anyone but themselves. Ruining their chance at Salvation and eternal life. I would feel really bad.

As I just go by what the Scripture teaches and has been for thousands of years. Me bringing up people who have been dead and experienced things like paradise/heaven even meeting Jesus Christ also. Just what my journey has lead me to research and believe more in what the Holy Bible teaches.

    Hope all is well Sacha.

    God Bless.

    Hi Mary.

Matthew 24:36-39 (KJV) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Luke 17:26-27 (KJV) And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

    God bless you,

    I hope that helps.

    JEANETTE.

Drug use hinders us from being spiritually led, which can be dangerous to us whether Christian or not, How can you even hear the gospel that saves without the Holyspirit, Drug use distorts something on the inside the vessel that should be totally given over to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:14-19. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be ""FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT;""

    Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

"Be not drunken with wine" The Emphasis is drunken, , "INFLUENCED by the wine is the danger here". But be filled with the spirit. INFLUENCED by the spirit is the blessing here!! they're contuary one to another. The focus is not on just wine, anything that hinders the work of the spirit.

It's not just what you will do while under fleshly influence, but what you want do what you want hear or anything the Holyspirit urges you to do.
