    1 Ki.4:25-34 "Stand for an ensign" (2 of 2)

Prayer of Solomon pleased the Lord God who gave him an understanding heart. This is the case with every one foreknown and called. Did King Solomon make his election sure? Compare v.34 with the verse in the Book of the Revelation."And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it(Re.21:24).

The Spirit is not focussing on the calling of King Solomon not merely to hold his life as a cautionary tale for us but to instruct what it means to have an understanding heart. Like the talents in the Parable of Jesus, the wicked one is one who dug a hole in the ground to bury it. In our times we have seen these wicked ones like the harlot who traded her spiritual gifts for amassing riches. Come judgment day, she shall know what she has done with her soul. Be not deceived God is sitting even this day as a refiner(Mal.3:3) The silver which is reprobate is for the slag heap.

    Tailpiece:

By the way do we have any clue as to the Millennial reign to which 'in that day' refers? In Re.7 we read events taking place in heaven before this v.9 "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands(Re.7:9)."

    1 Ki.4:25-34 "Stand for an ensign" (1 of 2)

"And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek; and his rest shall be glorious(Is.11:10)." Wisdom of God is here set up as an ensign; and it was in Solomon and also points out,'in that day, which in the parlance of the Spirit refers to the day of the Lord. The ensign stands for something else. The people refers to the church redeemed from the earth are signs and wonders. It refers to King Solomon which is specific but foreshadows the Millennial reign of the Messiah. As a clue we shall consider this clause, 'to it (the ensign) shall the Gentiles seek.' Who are the Gentiles in the case of King Solomon? Here is a verse from the next chapter, "And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David(5:1)".

Verse 25 given below is a foretaste of the Millennial reign: "And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon(v.25)".

"And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore./And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt(vv. 29-30)".

And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom(v.34).

'And there came of all people' including Queen Sheba (10:1) to with our Savior Lord alluded,"The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here(Matt.12:42)". Wisdom of Solomon that we are considering is of man called to be double for the Son.

    1 Ki.4:25-34 "Wisdom of God"

And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore(v.29)".

Before we go on to a new topic let us refresh ourselves from the Parable of One House.

"And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other./

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it.

But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it(3:24-26).

The second harlot the false spoke too soon. It is how the body craves for instant gratification.

The two harlots represent two warring aspects of man. Body craves instant gratification while the Spirit would seek the unseen and be led by God so wisdom of God is what it hopes to feed upon. Their battleground is the heart. One wants the body to be fed and it is the second harlot representing her appetites of the flesh would demand 'Let it be neither mine nor thine but divide it'. Look at the present world. This explains the 'patriots who want a civil war' so 'anarchy of freedom' makes a din and great rubble. Their gtterdmmerung is a page out of the Third Reich. It shows their wisdom is devilish and of the carnal. What of the first harlot whose bowels yearned upon her son ? She showed the right responses for those might benefit from the wisdom of God."The spirit of a manisthe lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart(Pr.20:27-NKJV)".

King Solomon is presented to us as a double for Jesus Christ the Messiah-King whose wisdom was of the Word and it made the people see the excellence of his judgment. It is leading us to the day of the Lord when He sits down on the throne he shall separate the wheat from chaff. "A wise king sifts out the wicked, And brings the threshing wheel over them.(Pr.20:26)"

1 Ki.3:16-18 "Parable of One House"

'I and this woman dwell in one house'-v.17

Two harlots live in one house which is annotated by St Paul as two laws warring within one's members."Even harlots practice their trade by law. So St Paul speaks of a law that would ply her trade after her 'inner man' and it is the child that becomes the point of controversy. The Body would have but the law of sin 'in my members' striving against the law of my mind,' drags her love for the world through dirty. grubbing for money even in sewers is on the principle 'business is business'. Spirit dominates the other harlot which is in prostituting talents to curry favor from the world so Christian activism becomes devil's business.

" I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me./2 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man,/ But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members(Ro.7:21-23)".

In v.18 the third day after I was delivered' coincides with the warring member, which is no matter since Jesus Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. He also removed the middle wall of partition so what shall we say with regards to the heart? God fashioned all hearts alike.

One harlot giving up his rights to another presages being justified by God. Judgment of Solomon is as though God judged the case. He is presented as the stand in for the Son.

Soul, in a figurative sense is the inner man, the child in question. The body that would delight to do good but hindered by 'evil present with me' gives up with a contrite right so inner man do stand a chance under the law of the Spirit.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit./ For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death(Ro.8:1-2)".

    Ex.25:10-22 Tabernacle-Cherubim

"And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat."(v.18)

The cherubim on the top of the mercy seat are described as facing each other and the mercy seat itself. Their wings were outstretched and overshadow the mercy seat. We come across them as sort of way markers, with flaming sword, rather forbidding figures barring the way to the tree of life."Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."(Ge.3:24). Whereas with Mercy seat their outstretched wings exude the characteristics that is in harmony with the memorials in heaven. They signify prayer and service. Be that as it may their position inthe primary sense does not change.

The cherubim thus placed facing each other link the invisible God and the ark representing the Man component. In short it commemorates the Fellowship of God with Man. There are guardians of the holiness of God.The solid gold cover on which they are positioned is the throne of grace. Here we see a fractal design indicating the Fellowship between two worlds framed by the word of God. This way doubles for the upright stem of a palm tree or a noble cedar tree.

"This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." Ac.1:11 The straight line connecting the two worlds is invisible . This resonates with the way God led the Israelites in the wilderness. "And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters."(Ex.15:27). The symbolism of trees on either side of the living waters in Ezekiel's vision mentioned earlier are repeated in the final chapter of the God document (Re.22:1-3) God made manifest. Thus the river of time beginning from waters above the firmament takes the divine Salvation Plan all through. Mercy seat with cherubim is of solid gold and mercy of God

To put it simply I'm starting to feel that if I'm not living like John the Baptist did , then I'm indulging myself .
  • Jema - In Reply - 1 year ago
I so needed to read this post today . I have been struggling with feelings of guilt for indulging myself in one or two worldly pleasures that I think I probably shouldn't be doing . Nothing major but my conscience is searing my brain ! I know that God wants us to be happy as our happiness is a reflection of His love in our hearts . I have been indulging in a couple of things that I do consider to be a bit on the worldly side :( . I'm struggling with myself about this . I have forgotten that all the things that I have in this life , clean hot and cold water , central heating , enough food etc , these things are privileges , not rights . The only thing I deserve is death . When I see all the poverty in the world I feel so guilty for buying myself my weekly bottle of wine so I've given it up , but me giving it up doesn't help anyone else does it ? I want to please God but I know that every day I do or say something that's not what He would want me to . I feel as if everything I do us wrong , especially if I do anything to please myself so I've stopped trying to please myself in any way but that's making me a bit miserable . More than anything I want to be close to God and Jesus but I know I'm my own worst enemy in that endeavour . Thanks for helping with that post .

Oseas , please forgive my intrusion . I have no idea where this conflict between you and Ronald has come from but it's genuinely distressing me . I love Ronald , have been reading his posts for a few years now . You are relatively new on here so as much as I very much enjoy your posts , most of the time , I don't have as much affection for you as for him . I think he has tried a few times now to end this conflict with you by saying he doesn't want to talk to you any more . Why can't you respect that and stop posting unpleasant remarks to him ? You are only degrading yourself when you do that , can't you see that ? I have no wish to read your unpleasant posts to him and I'm sure no one else enjoys them and I'm sure Ronald isn't reading them either . You are wasting your time and energy and making yourself look like a nasty person in the process . We are all Christians on here and most of the regular posters are well versed in the Bible . For your own sake , think about what you are doing , only to yourself , not to Ronald . Christ is with us on this site . He hears all and knows our hearts . Please , consider . With affection and respect to you .

GM, it is 3:33 am and I am having trouble sleeping due to pain, today I will be having lung surgery. Prayer is powerful and I know I've already asked and know God will deliver. But it's a painful process, with a chest tube in and all it very uncomfortable. Being in the city it is a nice view but I can't wait to get back home, I prayed tonight that we all get what we need in Him, wisdom, healing, deliverance.

    I am in good hands

    Of This Prophecy

    The ministry of LITTLE FAITH

Matt 6:30,33 - You of LITTLE FAITH, seek ye first the kingdom of heaven.

1 John 3:17-19 - how does God's love abide in him? LITTLE CHILDREN, let us not love in word and talk but in deed and in truth. By this we shall know that we are of the truth.

ISA 8:18 - "Behold, I and the CHILDREN whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in ISRAEL from the LORD of HOSTS, which dwelleth in Mount Zion."

The eternal internal land of the ISRAELITES. The miniature land of God within us.

Psa 125:1 - "They that trust in the LORD shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever." Psa 125:2 - As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever." The land allotted to the righteous. Peace be upon ISRAEL. Aman

Matt 19:14 - Jesus said, let the LITTLE CHILDREN "come" to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. Matt 19:28 - Jesus said, when the son of man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL. Matt 19:29 - You will receive a hundred fold (SPIRITUAL CHILDREN) and will inherit eternal life.

THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (spiritual) within us, the seed and the inheritance of God, our Great Father and The Good Creator. We build and we destroy, to our flesh and to our spirit. Gal 6:7 - whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Gal 6:8 - For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh (earth) reap corruption, but the one who sows to the spirit (heaven) will from the spirit reap eternal life. Gal 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. For God is our Father in heaven and we are theirs in heaven on earth. Our CHILDREN within us, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. This is the Truth, this is the good news, this is the gospel of the kingdom of heaven.

    To be continued.

    Ronald Whittemore

OK, Ronald, but having read your reply I see it deserves or even requires an important clarification not only for you, but for everyone's knowledge here, as follow:

I highlight your point and I must consider it very important to "have a heart of love towards others as brothers and sisters" as you said in your reply. But it is important to highlight also this desirable behavior only exists and happens when the Truth is spoken, GOD is the Truth; Then, when someone speaks out having a heart of love as Peter in Matthew 16:22-23(take a look), that kind of "love" manifestation actually is a stumbling block, and it creates a deadly environment, as can be seen in Genesis 3:1&5.

That said, it is essential to discern the spirit(s) as JESUS discerned in- Matthew 16:22-23- , in order not to fall into the Devil's trap.

Be careful or then get ready

On the other hand, I don't bellit people, neither I feel superior, as you suggest in your reply, and who Judges is the Word of GOD, not me, the Word is GOD, understand? By the way, the Word of GOD is quick -the Word is GOD- , and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged Sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a DISCERNER of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we must give an account.

By the way, my Lord JESUS left very clear, saying: "out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, false witness, blasphemies, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts: These are the things which defile a man- Matthew 15:19-20

    1 Corinthians 6:2-3

2 Do ye not know that the saints shall Judge the world?

3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? (angels of the Churches)

    The Word is GOD, self-executing.

    Dear Lee,

The sabbath is a day of rest from one's normal work responsibilities. As far as I know, attending services is not required of the Israelites on the Sabbath when I read the Law in Exodus and Deuteronomy. So worshipping God on Sunday in a church service is not sin. I think that we need to be balanced our approach to the Sabbath. Jesus walked and taught on the Sabbath but did not sin in any way. We are to take time to rest from work, not work from sun-up to sun-down 7 days a week. It is best for us to take a break from whatever our work is. When I was raising my sons and, being a stay at home mother, I worked for my family everyday, especially when the children were babies. I loved doing it, but I could not really take a day off from those responsibilities. But I found time during the days to rest and to have some time for quiet reading, prayer, and spending time with God consciously and purposefully. We attended church services on Sundays, which were so good for us.

But each person needs to do what doesn't offend their conscience.

    One eighty,

First of all, please know that I am not accusing you of heresy. My accusation was directed at ACIM, whether it be their website or the course that they produced

I consider it a very serious matter to accuse someone of heresy, and I can assure you that I did not accuse ACIM out of ignorance.

As I mentioned to you, I only recently stumbled on them after reading your post about the ego. I did not understand what you were saying and I didn't even know where to look in scripture, so I did a web search and that's how I discovered ACIM and saw that your post on the ego was word for word with theirs.

From there, I did a little research on ACIM and it didn't take much time to figure out that their teachings are heretical.

Here are just a few things that I feel should be considered heretical:

    - God is your identity, you will be like God.

    - God's name is holy, but no holier than yours.

    - To call upon His Name is but to call upon your own.

    - God Himself is incomplete without me.

    - There is no separation of God and His creation.

    - We do not need a saviour. We are the sources of our own salvation.

    - My salvation comes from me. Nothing outside of me can hold me back. Within me is the world's salvation and my own.

    - There is no sin, it is all an illusion.

    - And therefore all your sins have been forgiven because they carried no effects at all. And so they were but dreams.

    - Jesus' body was an illusion.

    - There is no need for help to enter Heaven for you have never left

    - Jesus the man was used by the Christ to demonstrate the illusion of the world. In actuality, man is still in heaven. It is simply the illusion of sin and death that have caused false senses of reality.

These things go against the truth of the Bible. Again, I am not accusing you of anything other than sharing things found in their course. And I feel that the Lord is leading me to warn others about ACIM.

I also wish to remain in peace with you!

Oh, dear Stewart, that is a severe situation. Not being able to breathe well is painful, May you get swift treatment. My husband had this happen when he was 3, pneumonia led to it. He was in the hospital in an oxygen tent for 6 weeks. No one could visit him. That was 3 years ago, so treatment has changed, but it is a very acute situation. I will certainly pray for you. Let us know how things go for you over the next few days.

Dear Heavenly Father, Stewart is in desperate need of your help in this medical emergency. We ask You in Jesus' name to provide speedy help, skilled doctors, correct treatment, improved breathing, pain relief, and overall improvement of his health. Thank you Father for hearing our prayers and willingly answering us because you love us. Amen.

    cont.

    I think I am on 8

    8) Although God commands them against idolatry, He tells them that they will indeed turn from Him to idols, corrupting themselves before God, doing the very evil He tells them to avoid. He will remove them from the land, as He promised to do to them at Horeb if they departed from the covenant relationship with Him. He will scatter them among the nations (which happened in the exile to Babylon and Assyria, and in 70 A.D.) and their numbers will be greatly decreased. (25-28)

    9) He promises to receive them back to Himself if they repent and seek Him with all of their hearts (29-31). He will do the same to us when we backslid and repent.

Verses 40-49 seem to belong to the next section (ch. 5)

We, too, are in a covenant with God, the New Covenant sealed by the blood of Jesus, Son of the Father, who sealed it for us without our input. It is totally God's doing, just as with the covenant made with Abraham. Abraham slept, and the Godhead sealed the covenant without Abraham being awake to participate in the sealing. He was given the promise, but God did the work of the covenant. So, too, with us, the covenant that saves us is a gift to us from God, not earned by us by our obedience, but like Abraham, our obedience results from being given the gift of faith by the Holy Spirit. It is a better covenant than that of the one made at Sinai. It was made at Mt. Calvary at Golgotha, when Jesus was crucified and died for us.

The only perplexing part of this chapter to me is that of image making. I certainly understand that we are not to create or have any object that would represent God, nor make any idol. But the language seems to say that we are not to make images of anything. Does this rule out art, such as paintings sculptures, drawings, carvings in stone for the sake of beauty? The tabernacle curtains had cherubim on them and the ark of the covenant had angels forged to overlook the mercy seat. These were commanded by God. There were other images. ?

    Takeaways from this chapter:

    1) God says in verse 39 that He alone is God and that there is no other true God. He establishes this as a fact to the people of Israel. He reminds them of the price paid by those who sinned by serving the god of the Moabites-Ba'al Peor with the Midianite women. They all died and only those who did not worship this false god survived to that day.

    2) God reminds them of all the ways He has delivered the nation: from Egypt, in battle, in the wilderness. He expects the nation to remember these things and teach their children these things.

    3) God warns them about departing from Him to worship false idols, for they are not truly god, nor able to help the Israelites.

    4) God reminds the nation that he is merciful and good, will not forsake them, and will keep His covenant with their forefathers. (vs. 31)

    5) He tells them to keep the covenant made at Mt. Horeb according to the commandments He gave them engraved by Him on stone tablets. (vs. 13)

    6) He commands not to add to the words of the covenant and His commandments nor to take any words away. (vs.2) We are to keep His words separate from the words of mere human thoughts.

    7) He recalls to the people how He had met with them on Mt. Horeb Sinai) and had given them the covenant and Law that they were to adhere to and not turn from. They are wisdom and understanding for the Israelites. (5-6. 10)

    8) He tells them how they have been set apart in a special way from all the nations of the world, with God so near, because he is everywhere present (vs.7-8) The wisdom and understanding of the covenant and Law will be noticed by the other nations if Israel lives them out. In

    8) He reminds them how He appeared to them on Mt. Horeb in fire and spoke out of the fire, but they did not see any form of Him. (vs. 12) Therefore, they are not to try to make any image to represent Him. (15-19) He wanted the Israelites to worship Him, not any image. It is a spiritual worship, as Jesus. ( Jn. 4:24)
