Just feeling to reply to this. Not really wanting to.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY GHOST:

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the FATHER, the WORD, and the HOLY GHOST: and these THREE are ONE.

Revelation 19:11-14 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.

And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The WORD of GOD.

One definition from "Logos" or "Word" in Greek. In John, denotes the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ, the personal wisdom and power in union with God, his minister in creation and government of the universe, the cause of all the world's life both physical and ethical, which for the procurement of man's salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah, the second person in the Godhead, and shone forth conspicuously from His words and deeds. A Greek philosopher named Heraclitus first used the term Logos around 600 B.C. to designate the divine reason or plan which coordinates a changing universe. This word was well suited to John's purpose in John 1.

John 17:3-5 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

If you can't believe in Scripture that Jesus Christ Himself says He existed before the world was. Just one place. I can't help you.

Jesus Christ did exist before He was born. Other Scriptures state this also.

    God Bless.

Dear James, have you read the rest of John 1? It explains quite clearly that the Word is Jesus. We should pray to God for wisdom and understanding so that we may know the truth. Assuming you're open and searching for the truth, let's break this scripture down...

v1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Word was God. That seems perfectly clear. I hope we agree on this so far.

v3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

At least 2 things we learn here, that the Word is a 'him' and He made everything. It doesn't say He was created or born only, but just that He was there from the beginning.

v5 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

He, the Word, was also the light of men. I hope we agree on that. So far we have 2 different names/metaphors used to refer to Him.

v6-7 John came ...to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

This is talking about John the Baptist. I hope we on that.

v14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So this same Word/light of men and 'he' male entity became flesh (like a person) and 'dwelt among us' John the author wrote. This sounds an awful lot like the Word became a human being, do you agree?

This John who bore witness sounds an awful lot like John the Baptist as described in Matthew 3:1-17 who called Jesus 'Lord' and even baptized Him. It's a perfect match. Do you agree?

So, just in this one chapter, we have learned a lot about the Word, that the Word was with God in the beginning and WAS God, and 'He' became flesh and dwelt among us (as a person) and that John the Baptist bore witness to the Light of Men and the Lord coming, and this matches perfectly in other parts of the Bible where Jesus came. Jesus made a significant impact on everyone and is the light of men today. Do you agree?

Phillip, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

    In you comments you quoted:

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam ALL die, even so in Christ shall ALL (redeemed) be made alive.

Do you think the ALL in Adam, is a different ALL than the ones made alive; or is it the same people being delivered from death to life. IS ALL, ALL; or is ALL, SOME.

The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, WHO IS THE SAVIOUR OF ALL MEN, specially those who BELIEVE.

Is the ALL in this verse the same ALL as in 1 Corinthians 15:22; or is it a different ALL (maybe it to only means some).

Monica, I don't believe we can imagine the true feelings of Jesus and what He was fixing to face, but the verses that stand out to me that shows the most human feelings of Jesus and what was on His mind, when Jesus was in the garden. He went to pray to the Father right before He was arrested. Jesus knew what He would soon endure, being arrested, spit on, beaten, nailed to a cross and to bear all the sins of this world. He even asked the Father if that cup could be removed.

Luke 22:41-46 (KJV) And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. 43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, 46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

    God bless, Ron

I know a lot of military people and we all need to pray for their home comings from the wars. Suicide is really high. We need to pray they find jobs right away. Let's commit to pray often, for them. Pray for Divine intervention.

They're overseas and easy to forget about. There's something seriously wrong with forgetfulness.

There are many videos on YouTube of military engagements. Look up Hellfire Apache helicopters for reference. War is hard on everybody. Even children.
  • James - In Reply on Deuteronomy 18:18 - 4 years ago
Respectfully, Earl, you are mistaken. The Word is not a person. Please do not insert words where they do not belong.

    John 1:1 says:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

It doesn't say: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god the son".

God is a Spirit. And God was in Christ. His Son. When God filled his Son with the Holy Ghost, the Word was made flesh. Deuteronomy 18:18 was fulfilled.

The right of the first born is not always given to the first born, as is evident by the scripture. Look at Israel's and Joseph's sons for example.

The Son of God is the beginning of the creation because all things were created by him in mind. "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, BY whom also he made the worlds;"

The Son of God did not exist before his birth. And neither did you and I.
  • Mishael - In Reply on Genesis 6 - 4 years ago
Those who he was laying his life down for. He was looking from past history, way into the future when you would be born and need a savior; on such and such day. That's why I praise Him. :D

I was looking for verses on gossip and lying in the KJV bible and this verse really spoke out to me, I have been out of touch lately with my church and reading of my bible and just neglecting my relationship with God and Jesus. As a result I find it easier and easier to get away from my resposibilities as a christian, and in today's world it's more important than ever to lean on God. So the reason I was looking for these verses on gossip and lies is, I found myself getting caught up in this at work a bit with much regret and guilt. So I felt this verse is a good reminder to Let Jesus take the wheel as I can really mess things up when I am not listening to God.

Jesus, the Master of Life, said, " I am the Life, the Way and the Truth." when we read of Jesus from the Bible, we can learn and understand life. In life, your friends, or the people you've helped can sometimes betray you. Remember, it was Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. the man who ate bread from Jesus' table, was the very man who betrayed him to be arrested that night. that is a lesson of life....
  • Mishael - In Reply on Genesis 4:1 - 4 years ago
If you carefully read Genesis, you'll see that after Cain, Abel and Seth; Eve had more children.

I get lots of info from reading Geneology lists in the Bible. You can Google charts of BIBLE Geneology that you can look at.

Jesus's Geneology is really interesting if you know where the Bible speaks about some of his ancestors. Rehab was a prostitute. Ruth had been a Moabite priestess who assisted with child sacrifice. Very interesting.
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Hebrews 5 - 4 years ago
    Hi Ivette.

Israel's disobedience never derailed God's plans, You'll find your answers in Numbers ch 31, "Whole chapter " And story also in the story of Issac and Ishmael, and Jacob and Essau.

And what actually what makes a Jew " a Jew? " You know Ruth was a Moabite who is in the Grandmother of King David and so is Rahab the Harlot.

That's not a problem for God, like John the baptist told the Pharisees in

    Matthew 3:9.

""And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.""

    I hope that helps

Walt, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Man didn't start with eve; man started with Christ. Adam was just a shadow of the TRUE FIRST MAN CREATED.

Revelation 3:14 .... the faithful and true witness, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD...

    The true witness is Christ.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness....

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the BEGINNING and the ENDING....

Jesus was the first man created; and when HIS WORKS are finished, He will be the LAST MAN created.

Psalms 104:30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, and THEY ARE CREATED; and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Psalms 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which SHALL BE CREATED shall praise the Lord.

Romans 8:29 For whom he (GOD) did foreknow (ALL CREATION), he also did predestinate to be CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that he (THE SON) might be the firstborn (FIRST MAN OF CREATION) among many brethren (LAST MAN OF CREATION).

Amen. Deuteronomy 18:18 was fulfilled in John 1:14. The Word is not a person. The Word is the word. A 5 year old can understand this. God put his words in the mouth of a man. This is how the Word (the Word of God) was made flesh.

You who have observed, and are waiting in these days, until an end shall be made of those who do evil, and an end shall be made of the power of the wrongdoers.

Do indeed wait until sin shall pass away, for their names shall be erased from the Books of the Holy Ones, and their offspring will be destroyed forever. And their spirits will be killed, and they will cry out and moan in a chaotic desert place, and will burn in fire, for there is no Earth there.

And there I saw something like a cloud, which could not be discerned, for because of its depth I was not able to look into it. And the flames of a fire I saw, burning brightly, and things like bright mountains revolved and shook from side to side.

And I asked one of the Holy Angels, who were with me, and I said to him: "What is this bright place? For there is no sky, but only the flames of a burning fire, and the sounds of crying, and weeping, and moaning, and severe pain."

And he said to me: "This place which you see; here will be thrown the spirits of the sinners, and of the blasphemers, and of those who do evil.

And now I say to you, my children, love righteousness and walk in it; for the paths of righteousness are worthy of acceptance, but the paths of iniquity will quickly be destroyed and vanish.

Woe to those who build their houses with sin, for from their whole foundation they will be thrown down, and by the sword they shall fall, and those who acquire gold and silver will quickly be destroyed in the Judgment.

Thus I say, and make known to you, that He who created you will throw you down, and over your fall there will be no mercy, but your Creator will rejoice at your destruction.

Contemplate Heaven, all you sons of Heaven, and all the works of the Most High, and fear him, and do not do evil in front of Him.

Believe, you righteous, that the sinners will become an object of shame and will be destroyed on the Day of Judgment.

And in those days, blessed are those who accept the words of wisdom, and understand them, and follow the paths of the Most High, and walk in the path of righteousness, and do not act impiously with the impious, for they will be saved.

Be it known to you, sinners, that the Most High remembers your destruction and that the Angels rejoice over your destruction.

And do not think in your spirit nor say in your heart, that you do not know, or do not see, every sin is written down every day in Heaven in front of the Most High.

From now on, you know that all your wrongdoing that you do will be written down every day, until the day of your Judgment.

And the words of your iniquity will be read out before the Great and Holy One, and your faces will blush with shame, and every deed which is founded upon iniquity will be rejected.

Because of this they will have neither knowledge nor wisdom. And through this, they will be destroyed, together with their possessions, and with all their glory and their honour. And in shame, and in slaughter, and in great destitution, their spirits will be thrown into the fiery furnace.

  • Philip Christian Parks - In Reply on Hebrews 2 - 4 years ago
HE (CHRIST) might destroy him (the devil); v.14 = Here, the Greek verb root (; pronounced "kat-arg-EH-"), translated here into "destroy", does not mean to totally "annihilate" the devil into nothingness, for Satan ("the devil") will eternally endure the torments of the Lake of Fire ( Rev. 20:10). Yet, the devil will always retain his evil essence, nature, personality, character, and reputation in his opposition.

The verb "destroy" describes GOD removing Satan's power over death, particularly his power of death over the redeemed saints of GOD. GOD has abolished Satan's power over death for their sake making death ineffective and powerless over them. The physical fleshly bodies of the redeemed will continue to wither and die due to their carnal sinful nature, "for as in Adam all die" ( 1Cor. 15:22). Yet, for the redeemed, physical death ushers them into the very Presence of their REDEEMER to experience and enjoy Eternal Life.

GOD rescues ("saves") HIS people from ultimately dying eternal death ( 1Cor. 15:22 & 25-26):

"[22] in CHRIST shall all (the redeemed) be made alive. [25] For HE (CHRIST) must Reign, till HE hath put all enemies under HIS Feet. [26] The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."
