    Msconnie,

I believe that the rapture is going to happen before the tribulation period. The reason I believe this is because of what we're told in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5. Chapter 4 tells us about the rapture in Verses 13-18, even though the word rapture is not used, but we know it to be the rapture of the church. Chapter 5 often gets overlooked.

People go to Chapter 4 about the rapture, and everybody debates about it. But as soon as you get to Chapter 5, it says that when Christ comes, it is going to be like a thief in the night. But it won't be sudden for you because you are children of the day.

The people in Thessalonica were told that the rapture had already happened, that their loved ones are in the grave and they have missed it. They are on the earth and they have missed it, and get ready because we are in the tribulation period.

And in Chapter 5 of 1 Thessalonians, Paul described for the believer that first of all, it will be sudden judgment for the people who are not ready. But he says you are ready because you belong to Christ. But secondly, he said that God's people are for salvation, not for judgment. Once the church is removed, judgment is going to begin. So Paul is telling them that if you're still here and you are one of God's people, then it is not the tribulation period. That is important!

So I believe that the rapture will take place prior to the 7 year tribulation period. Just as John was caught up into heaven to see the events of the tribulation unfold, I believe we also will be caught up the same. We will be raptured, taken to heaven where we'll participate in the wedding feast. And then after the seven years, when Christ comes back at His second coming, we come back with Him!

Where in the Bible does it once you are saved you are always saved? Also I know some people who say if you repent of your sins you are trying to be saved by works, is this true ? If so where in the Bible does it say this.?

This awful type of situation can occur in any given setting. Haven't you heard the saying, the devil goes to church too. He wants to wreck havoc everywhere he goes. God's word tells us to resist the devil and he will flee. God's spirit as the Comforter will reveal every man's character. I would personally comfort this person!!! We do not run from the enemy, we put him in his place, then report him to elders, and police.

Bonnie, I think you for that advice but we have done everything from cps, police, sheriff, DHS, and Doj. Everyone that we have run into is corrupt including the attorneys that we hire to help us and do absolutely nothing. But I think you for your response. I believe that only God can help at this point.

Why was sacrificing in high places bad in the eyes of the Lord? Seems this was a sin evil the Kings did right by the eyes of the Lord? I saw the comment before me that it is explained in Chronicles. I guess I'll just have to wait.

Please pray that I may have sufficient provision from the Lord that I may be fully able to carry out my life so that the precious Holy Spirit may get all the praise and glory Hallelulah. Also I ask that my life be yielded such that it will be available to the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit to assist many lost into the Kingdom of eternal life. As well might there be many set free from infirmities as part of the process of ushering them into salvation and eternal life Amen.

There is time play here. Joash dies and his son Jeroboam takes his place. Then after it goes back in time when Elisha died and Joash at his bed side. Also Joash and Jehoash is the same person. This chapter was confusing to me.

The LORD God had issued several covenants, starting with Adam. When God issued a covenant, it was essentially God telling His people that what He would utter to them would be his pledge (or, promise) that something would happen.

In the case of Genesis 6:18, we refer to it as the Noahic Covenant. And this Covenant is found by reading from Genesis 8:20 to 9:17. We see that after the Flood had assuaged & the Ark settled on dry ground, Noah offered burnt offerings to the LORD (probably in worship & thankfulness for their preservation). And the LORD "smelled a sweet savour" from these showing His acceptance of the offering & of Noah & his family. And so the Covenant was issued.

And this Covenant included: no further curse to the ground we walk on; that the seasons will continue, as will day & night; & the LORD will never again destroy the Earth with a flood, providing a bow (rainbow) in the sky as a token of His Pledge. And we have indeed enjoyed God's Mercies & Pledge He made to Noah. However, the Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:5-11, reminds his readers that by the same Word of God that brought on the Flood that destroyed every living creature not in the Ark, so too will God once again bring destruction upon the Earth, this time not by water (according to that Pledge) but by fire. Therefore, knowing the certainty of God's Word & Promises, Peter challenges us: "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?"

Just to add to the other comments: with what we have been told in Genesis, the formless & void (empty) Earth was really a great watery mass ("darkness was on the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters").

Then God separated these waters by a firmament (Heb. raqiya, or an open expanse), so that some waters remained on the Earth & the rest above the Earth (referred to as 'heaven', ). In this respect, the 'heaven' (or, firmament) was the expanse that included this water, the sky as well as the universe, as the Lord created "lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night" (v 14).

Of the water that was on Earth, we understand that God had parted it so that dry land would appear (v 9), but of the water remaining in the firmament, we're not told. It could have been a massive storage area whereby the Earth was watered from the sky (as Adam mentioned), & enclosing the Earth with moisture, giving the Earth a greenhouse effect. And this, with the "mist from the Earth" (2:6) sustained the plant life.

    Dear Chuck,

My understanding is the firmament may have been a type of protective atmosphere of the earth made with water- perhaps like clouds or thicker which would irrigate or humidify the air and land. Genesis 1:7. Keep in mind it never rained until Noah boarded the ark, so this was probably a perfect and beautiful system. God bless...

    John,

Yes, God is indeed a merciful God. One way to fully understand how merciful God is would be to read through Revelation during the time where God is pouring out judgment on an unbelieving world. If you notice as you read along, the judgment comes in phases. And each phase gets progressively worse than the last. Do you think God's not trying to get their attention during each phase and giving them the opportunity to repent? It's like God is saying, "Look, I'm giving you the opportunity to repent and turn to me.

But even after going through this, many will still not repent. God could have just wiped out the entire unbelieving world immediately but He does not do so. Why? I believe, as you appropriately state, he is merciful. His judgment comes in stages or phases. Even during the time of His wrath, He's giving people an opportunity to repent. Now that's what I would call mercy!

Chris will be in here shortly and he can give a better answer. My phone is about on zero.

Firmament is land mass. It was altogether in the time before Adam and Eve were created.

Scientists now say all the planets had water at one time. Extreme heat dried up all of their water.

Only Earth has water; and life.

You can Google scientists recent announcement on that discovery. I saw the program on PBS. Might look on PBS dot org

God is very meticulous when it comes to having a complete cannon of scriptures in the 66 books of the bible. Be careful who you choose to believe . The devil uses people to tell you there are missing books of the bible. But God is a able to preserve his word that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished. It is not a coincidence that Isaiah has 66 chapters corresponding to the 66 books of the bible. Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. Genesis 1 And God said let there be... and the heavens and earth listened and gave ear and came into existence. The biggest division in the bible is between the old testament and the new testament. 39 in the old 27 in the new. So If Isaiah chapter 39 represents he last book of the old testament and chapter 40 represents the first book of the new testament then there should be a division between chapters 39 and 40 and there is. Chapters 36 -39 all talk about Hezekiah but in chapter 40 the subject dramatically changes and the subject is the voice of one crying in the wilderness which just happens to be how the new testament starts with John the Baptist being the voice crying in the wilderness. The last chapter of Isaiah... For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. Last book of the Bible And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 66 Books preserved and kept by the power of God. There is nothing more important to God than his Word.

Genesis 6:3, refers, as Adam indicated, to the time that God had given to the people to consider & repent before He sent the deluge to wipe out mankind. It hasn't got anything to do with the allotted time given to man from time of birth to death.

However, Psalm 90:10 reveals a reduction of the average time limit for mankind to 70 yrs (three score & ten years). But the Psalm goes on to say (verse 12): "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." We need to take stock of our lives & the Grace of God given to us, lest our days come to an end suddenly, as it did to those who perished in the Flood.
