When we come to Christ we begin to see things from a different perspective. we begin to look at ourselves through the eyes of God. He has created us from the very beginning. Many will go trough life without knowing Him or what he has in store for those that love him.

I just read this earlier today. This was posted online by someone who calls themselves a Pastor. Here is the actual quote:

"The meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether you are Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves."

Now, I see two parts to this statement and I disagree with both. First of all, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the reason why we celebrate. Secondly, no matter how much we commit ourselves to helping others, we cannot save ourselves, period. If we could save ourselves by good works, we would not need a Savior!

This pastor in my opinion, who also happens to be a member of congress, would be considered a false prophet!

I feel like i have a lot in common with Jesus. A lot of similarities. Does the Bible ever mention about Jesus having any romantic relationship? Or even a desire to have a romantic relationship? I've always felt different. I've never desired any romantic relationship. But I've always loved to take care of animals. Jesus loves to take care of us. I've had jobs working with animals. Then i started to see the Bible verse : Jeremiah 29:11. I thought that was god 's way of telling me that his plan for my life was to have a lifelong career working with animals. But those jobs did not last as long as I'd hoped. It felt like a peice of myself was missing. Then during this corona virus i started to write in my journal about my personal experiences. Through the process, i realized that i was answering a lot of questions I've had about myself all my life. Finally i understood me & i realized that maybe this was god's plan for me all along. His plan was for me to seek out personal information about myself. It reminds me of another Bible verse : Matthew 7:7. And that's exactly what is been doing. I was seeking out information to understand what makes me different. I was asking personal questions about myself because I'd rather understand, instead of doubt & the door was opened wide for me to see the answers to those questions. My prayer is that my story can help anyone else who feels different. Its OK to be different no matter what & it's healthy to accept yourself!

    Gary,

It can be called either New Testament or New Covenant. I call it the New Testament but it would not be wrong for me to call it the New Covenant. There are several places in the "NT" where we see the word covenant and testament. Both those words in the Greek text are the words DIATHEKE, and they can be translated into English as either testament or covenant. They both mean the same thing, so it would not be wrong to call it either way!
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Matthew 1 - 4 years ago
    Hello Gary,

I did a little search for you. As I cannot say when the word "covenant" was replaced with "testament" in the Holy Bible. To begin they mean the same thing. Covenant is still used in the OT over 250 times. Testament and covenant are used in the NT for the same Greek word they are translated from.

The word covenant seems to have it's origin in old French. The word testament seems to have it's root from Latin. Making their way to English.

Both meaning the same thing as a "disposition, pledge, pact, or treaty".

    Hope that helps. God Bless.

  • Jesse - In Reply on John 14 - 4 years ago
    Gerald,

Maybe Matthew 5:10 might be what you are looking for, which says "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

This is just a guess on my part. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

2 Corinthians 4:3-7 But if the gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god(devil) of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Pray for James who is an engineer out in the ocean and can't access his bank account as he keeps on his girlfriend for money to help him get home. She doesn't have any money to help him and he needs to find someone else to help him financially.

Davie Miller, regarding Revelation 20:14. I think you are accurate when you say, you die and you cease to exist, it's as though you never existed. God is a Holy, Just Merciful God. After the judgement, God will bring forward the second death, which is eternal.

    Hello Daniel,

Is this my brother in Sverige?

Either way.Of coarse there are slight changes here and there, in the Scriptures, as it is interpreted. As you know it is still the living Word of God. I myself was lead to Jesus Christ from some new "translation" of the Holy Bible. It still lead me to the Lord who is the way the, the truth, and the life.

I think judging can be perceived two ways. One is to judge someone and think "that's it, no hope for him" and curse them. The other is to judge what is right from wrong, truth from lies, and try to help others by telling them their faults. Now of coarse don't be a hypocrite and tell someone not to do something you also do. Of coarse the one Judge over all is Jesus Christ and we are all to be judged, by what we have done, in the end. Though we who follow Jesus Christ are the body of Christ. As He uses us as He pleases to do His Will.

About this life. A simple view is that this life is God's field and it is a place for testing of hearts and souls. Given in many parables by the Lord. The entire reason why God made us to live here, and whatnot, only God can answer. As it is probably not to be known while we are here. It is God's Will that shall be done not ours.

Here are some verses for you, about "judging" others. Not condemning others. To help them if able, not to curse them. Are we not to know, or judge, even a false prophet by their fruits? A tree is known by it's fruit.

    Leviticus 19:17

    Proverbs 9:7-8

    Proverbs 12:1

    Proverbs 17:10

    Proverbs 19:25

    Ezekiel 3:17-21

    Matthew 18:15

    Luke 17:3

    Colossians 3:16

Absolutely not. That has nothing at all to do with what I said. Being persecuted and put out of the churches for your righteousness sake. In other words your truth has threatened the authorities of the churches and you are asked to leave. There is indeed a scripture that says that, I have already included in my book in another chapter, but it is a long book and it is hard to locate.

Dictionary definitions of "truth" or what is "true":

    correct

    accurate

in accordance with fact or reality

Sometimes people conflate the truth with their own interpretation of the truth as well as their emotions as a result of their interpretations. These are three different things.
  • Adam - In Reply on Matthew 1 - 4 years ago
Hi Gary, I'm not aware of any change. Can you be more specific and list why you think there was a change of something somewhere by someone?

Your post seems to be intentionally offensive, And is far from the truth.

That reply has no place here.

It's wonderful that God has enabled you to read and memorize scripture. I pray that you that you come to fully know Jesus Christ and his love; He that loved us so much he suffered and died to pay for our sins and then rose again from the dead to give us everlasting life.
