    Chris,

    It is nice to read your posts again. I had not been on here for almost a year and I did miss reading the things you share.

    I wanted to say amen to what you just posted here about a Christian without the Holy Spirit would be impossible. Romans 8:9 tells us that if we do not have His Spirit living in us, we would have an invalid claim at being a Christian, a "Christ-follower."

    It's impossible to follow Christ without His Spirit because it is His Spirit who persuades us to follow Him. In fact, that's what the word faith in the bible means, persuasion.

    Concerning gifts, I've come to understand that the only gift that is actually given to us is the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the gift. Everything else is just an expression of His grace.

    S Spencer,

    "We're not his sheep BECAUSE we follow him, we follow him BECAUSE we are his sheep!"

    I like that! There is so much symbolism in John Chapter 10. There are eight terms used that we should all be familiar with that represent or symbolize something: sheepfold, The Porter (Doorkeeper), the door, the sheep, the shepherd, the hireling, thieves, and lastly robbers. They all represent something.

    I agree with what you shared about the sheep being all put together in one place at night. There could have been hundreds if not thousands of sheep enclosed together in one place, and multiple shepherds each owning a portion of these sheep.

    It fascinates me that each shepherd, one at a time, would come to the door and call for his sheep, and out of the many that were in there, only his would come out. None of the other sheep would come out.

    In Palestine, the shepherds would call for their sheep. That's it! They didn't have to herd them from behind with horses and dogs to get them to where they needed to be. Instead of the shepherd herding the sheep from behind, he was ahead of the sheep and they followed him just by hearing his voice.

    Our proper position in Christ is always behind Him. We don't walk beside Him, and we don't walk ahead of Him. Our proper position will always be behind Him. That's why He gave us the command to follow Him.

    Just like the sheep in Palestine who heard the voice of their shepherd and followed him, we also as sheep hear the voice of our shepherd, and we follow Him, behind Him!

    when we understand our purpose there will be no need for jealousy just like john understood who he was and he was proud to tell people and there was no hate found in him even when his followers left him and followed Jesus, there was nowhere that it was found that he was beefing Jesus rather he kept bearing witness. As Christians, we should know our purpose it will help us stay put to our purpose and eliminate drifting.

    You're correct. But that was under the old covenant when the Spirit of God was given in measure & for specific reasons.

    Under the new covenant, the Spirit is received as soon as the new birth occurs for it's the Spirit Himself Who administers the Gift, sealing the believer. If this were not to happen, then we would have a situation where we have a 'Christian' who is one without the Holy Spirit, & that would be impossible.

    Vergie,

    I would translate it as Thy will be done on earth, as in heaven. The reason I say this is because the Greek text uses two separate phrases. The Greek uses EN where it says in heaven. EN would be translated in. The King James uses in both times, but EN is not used both times in the Greek. It is not used again to say in earth. It should read on earth because instead of using EN for in, it uses EPI which would be translated on. I hope that makes sense.

    Matthew 6:9-13 gives us the principles of prayer. This is known as the "Lord's Prayer" theologically, but in reality it is called the Disciples Prayer because Jesus is teaching the disciples to pray.

    The real Lord's Prayer is found in John Chapter 17 where Jesus prayed in intercession for His people to the Father. That is the real Lord's Prayer. It is His prayer. This is the prayer for the disciples in Matthew Chapter 6.

    In Matthew 6:10 (KJV), it says "Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven."

    What I take away from reading Matthew Chapters 16 and 18, is that Jesus taught that the disciples were to preach, and the disciples were to do the things on earth as it has already been decreed in heaven.

    I would take Matthew 6:10 to literally be saying Lord, whatever you have designed in heaven to happen on earth today, let it happen. Let your will be done! Of course then we are submitted to God for everything that happens in our day as being God's will. What an awesome principle!

    Dolly, may the Spirit grace you with HIS wisdom And HIS understanding.

    Matthew 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came.....

    Matthew 15:26 But he answered and said, it is not meet (fit) to take the children's bread, and cast it to the dogs.

    The Canaanites were gentiles and the children were Jews. Jesus is saying that the kingdom of heaven (CHRIST IN YOU) was to be offered to the Jews first. The DOGS make reference to the gentiles. Now the Jews rejected the kingdom of heaven (CHRIST IN YOU) and (vs 27) was a prophecy out of her mouth that ultimately the gentiles would be give the kingdom of heaven (CHRIST IN YOU).

    Matthew 15:27 But she said, Truth, Lord, yet the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their MASTERS

    table.

    Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs.....

    Now this verse is saying that dogs (gentiles; who ARE NOT of the kingdom of heaven; CHRIST IN YOU) will compass about the Holy City. This Holy City is made up of the (kingdom of heaven; CHRIST IN YOU) saints, living now in physical bodies; but upon the death of their physical bodies they will be given glorified bodies. We are compassed about with NON-BELIEVERS. (DOGS)

    1 John 3:2 Behold now are we the Sons of God, and it doeth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

    Hello, science supports the Bible's account of creation and vice versa. There is lots of scientific evidence of events of the Bible like the creation, flood, archeology from Bible times, dates, times, family history. If a book was fake it would be sparse on detail, but the Bible is filled with huge detail and the dates and timelines have all proven to be accurate and credible.

    But there's a difference between real science and fake 'science' which is just a label some use for their religion. There are plenty of scientists who believe in God and creation. But some will believe theories with zero evidence and call it science, because they got a bachelor's degree and feel their opinion somehow matters more. Most are just uncomfortable with the idea that an intelligent being created them so they do mental gymnastics to try to explain away God. They don't believe an accident made a Picasso painting, or an accident designed a building, but when it comes to something far more intelligent and complicated, they blindly say it was unintentional accident. Without evidence they believe their life is the result of an accidental explosion. But that is not scientific, because life from an explosion has never been witnessed and cannot be reproduced. The brightest minds on earth cannot produce life manually, nor through an explosion, so the idea that an accident caused it violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Yet, people still believe it on faith (religion) despite zero evidence, and say it's science, but it isn't science.

    Hi Melissa,

    Here's one of many answers in the scripture to your statement /question,

    ""we are born to be vessels to carry what's within that some will make it and others will not some of us are born to guide and others to destroy what do you think?""

    You're right we are vessels of clay, but these vessels has to be cleansed by the only one that is able, Our great high priest and savior Jesus Christ. Then only we can live a life acceptable to God.

    Romans 3:23-25 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

    Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

    Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

    Hebrews 10:22-24 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

    Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)

    And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

    Hebrews 13:15-16 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

    But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

    Hebrews 13:20-21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

    Make you perfect in every good work to do His Will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

    Amen Jesse,

    john 10 seems to sum it up, Church/people,

    John 10:16 (KJV) And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

    The plan was revealed in the old testament but hidden to their eyes and ears.

    There's a lot said when the Lord says in

    John 10:4. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

    We're not his sheep BECAUSE we follow him, we follow him BECAUSE we are his sheep! ""WE hear his voice "" slight difference in grammar, big difference in meaning.

    At night all the shepherds in the area would bring their sheep to be kept in a protected area , where they are mixed with all the other sheep, " they didn't brand the sheep " the next day the shepherd would go in and call their sheep, they hear his voice, they follow him.

    Benjamin,

    2 Thessalonians 2:3 says "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

    Paul presents some things that must happen before Christ comes back and brings judgment. First of all, there come a falling away. The Greek word for falling away is APOSTASIA. It's the word apostasy. So first there must come an apostasy. Apostasy means that people will leave the truth of the gospel, leave the faith in Christ, and it will be a godless world more and more. So first an apostasy against God and the gospel.

    Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:1 and he said now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons. We have that in our day.

    Notice the order of things:

    It will be the experience first and then scrambling to find the doctrine to back it up. When Satan presents the things of God, he gives an experience first, and then a twisting of the scriptures to back it up.

    Some of us may have been in assemblies where things seemed a little strange. And it's the seducing of that atmosphere, the seducing of that experience that draws people to supposedly be following Christ, but it's a seducing spirit and doctrines of demons. These are demon-backed doctrines!

    So there must be an apostasy first. That's happening in our day. It happened back in Paul's day and they thought that it would really be a serious time. It was for them, but it's gotten much worse today!

    Secondly, and that man of sin be revealed, who is called the son of perdition;

    The word perdition means destruction. It's a title. There's only one other person in the bible called that, and that's Judas Iscariot in John Chapter 17.

    So first there must be an apostasy. Secondly, the man of sin needs to be revealed. He can't just show up. It's going to take some circumstances that are going to reveal him.
