    Daniel,

"There is vast different between inspiration and translation"

So what is your point? Of course, they refer to two different things. The Bible was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Koine Greek. How can we English speaking people understand what was written in these languages unless they are translated into English or other languages for people around the world.

Christians assert that the originals are inspired and translators do their best to convey the words and thought from one language to another. Any and all translations are not inspired, although some King James Only advocates claim that the KJV is just as inspired as the autographs.

I don't believe that quibbling over Bible vs. Scripture or Testament vs. Covenant is worth any time or effort.

I'd like to see the "errors" you claim are in the translation you've referred to.

    Barry,

"The Bible is a unique collection of writings. In fact, there is nothing like it in all the world. In a period of over fifteen hundred years, and written in three distinct languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek) on three separate continents (Africa, Asia, and Europe), at least forty human writers from vastly differing fields, perspectives, and backgrounds wrote under the direction of the Holy Spirit in putting together the sixty-six books of the Bible.

The people who wrote the Bible were shepherds, fishermen, and military men. There were kings, a prime minister, and a royal cupbearer. There was even a doctor, a tax collector, and a tentmaker among so many other people from different walks of life. They wrote in a number of unusual circumstances, as varied as being in a prison or a palace." CARM

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2Pe 1:20-21

    Samuel,

When you look at the kings of the United Kingdom of Israel, Saul, David and Solomon, they ALL had fatal flaws, but in spite of that fact, David was a man after God's own heart...

"And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will." Act 13:22

Following Solomon's reign, the kingdom split and very very few of the kings displayed any heart toward God and as a result the Assyrians and Babylonians invaded their countries and took captives.

Josiah was one of the very few who had a heart for God like is "father" David.

"And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left." 2Ki 22:2

David and Josiah both show up in Jesus' genealogy in Matthew 1:6,10, and, yes, Amon is there too, but was NOT like David...

"Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did. And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them: And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD." 2Ki 21:19-22

    Sophia,

God is eternal. That means that God has always existed and never had a beginning. That's hard for us to imagine.

There are a very FEW things that we can know about God by just doing logical thinking. The Greek thinker, Aristotle, was able to reason that everything that begins to move needs a mover to get it started moving, so there MUST be an UNMOVED MOVER: GOD.

There are MANY other things that we could never know about God unless God Himself revealed those things to us. Did you ever have a friend that told you a secret about something they thought or something they did? Well, because The Bible was breathed out by God through people that He chose to speak to, when we read The Bible, we can discover things about God that He wants us to know.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Rom 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Rom 5:8

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."Joh 5:24

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Rom 10:9-10

This is all possible because God's eternal Son left heaven to be born baby Jesus by Mary, His mother, grow up and die on the cross and rise from the dead to save those who will believe.

I believe that this fake virus was the opening of the first seal of Revelation.

The word pharmacy comes from the Greek word pharmakeus, which comes from pharmakon meaning 'magician' or 'sorcerer' in Strong's concordance.

    Revelation 9:20-21 (KJB)

[20] And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

[21] Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries (Strong's Greek 5333 - pharmakn), nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

    Revelation 6:1-2 (KJB)

[1] And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

[2] And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Corona is latin for 'crown'. Coronavirus - 'crown'virus.

A bow but with no arrows. Conquering with a bow without arrows, which I believe means there is no actual warfare. This fake virus is a 'global pandemic', and has effectively 'conquered' the world: mask wearing, social distancing etc.

    Strong's Concordance - toxon: a bow

Strong's Exhaustive Concordance - 'From the base of tikto; a bow (apparently as the simplest fabric) -- bow.'

Toxic comes from the word toxon.

This fake virus could possibly be regarded as 'toxic', or at least the 'effects' of it.

Fabric - mask wearing - these masks can be essentially seen as simple fabrics.

Mandated mask wearing - covering the face with a "fabric". A large amount of emphasis has been placed on wearing these masks for this fake virus e.g., people posting pictures with the emphasis being placed on the masks they are wearing. Masks have been required for travel, entrance to stores etc.

My granddaughter is spiritually lost. She has been raised in a Christian home, yet she seeks the way of the mortal man. She feels that she should have been born a boy and wants to become one. She has been in and out of Mental hospitals, has run away several times, wants to have a good time, and not go to school. We have been praying for her since her parents felt she had a demon. I don't believe she does. She is very good while staying here with us temporarily. They are trying to place her in a hospital where she can get counseling and help. I am boldly confessing that Satan has no power over her!

The genealogy listed lists only the line of Christ. It lists from Adam to Jesus Christ. Cain would not be listed by the gospel writers as he wasn't part of the line. It went from Adam to Seth etc. The decedents of Seth are referred to the sons of God, and the decedents of Cain were referred to as the sons of men. ( Gen 6:2) There were, since that first generation, 2 lines, one was God's people, one was the followers of satan (or those who didn't follow God).

Just returned from an hour long drive to take possession of my tax returns. Thankfully, both ways, were full of flowers, yellow, white and orange mostly. Poppies are high up against the green hills. The dark clouds further into the mountains. The fires here have brought on all kinds of new abundant life while there was rain. The drought remains and will make the news again soon. Not far away are fields of figs and olives.

    Song of Solomon 2:10-13

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

    For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

    The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.

I think you're right. I found it interesting that in their searching , they tied the event to an earthquake. The whole article is weighty with digs, discoveries, collaborations, etc.

Today I thought that Passover will be soon and people ask the same questions every year. Sometimes it's good for the secular crowd to hear that scientists try to prove the Bible wrong or woefully lacking. Not true anymore. They have proven with evidence that an asteroid killed the dinosaurs by fire or starvation with plant life gone. Only little chipmunks survived it. They were underground. Cool huh?

I appreciate the Bible online forum so much. I even wish there more of them. Most are for dating and small groups. I like the variety in KJB online. Why not a Pastors Online? I tell folks there are great FM radio ministries; 24 hrs a day.

One thing I've noticed recently, is that Goodwill has very few Bibles to resale. People are buying them! Now that's good news. 5 yrs ago I took all my old Bibles and Christian textbooks to Goodwill to get them in circulation. I can't wait to see new faces in our Bible online room, teaching me things the Holy Spirit showed them! He never tires of answering our questions.

I asked God one morning just before dawn broke: why do you feed the birds and cause people to buy tree food sticks to help trees be strong? This is what He said: The trees open their branches to praise Me, First, in the morning, and the birds adorn the trees and sing praises to me. The whole planet!

I'm sad sort of because I pull up at the coffee maker first, before I go outside to pray for the day ahead for all peoples. I'm no hotshot ex-evangelist. The birds and trees beat us to it every morning. The the moon says, no, I sat with God all night long. Round the clock, God is praised. :D

Let's turn up the Praise guys. We'll be with Him real soon.

    Interesting discovery.

I'd take issue on your claiming that "All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday." It was actually, "the Day of Preparation." Preparation for what Sabbath being that there was also Passover, a Sabbath.

There is ambiguity in Sabbath in that it us used both to describe the weekly Sabbath, the seventh day and the Passover Sabbath and the Day of Preparation.

During that era, they could do Passover on two consecutive days. Some say that Jesus' Passover meal with His disciples was the early Passover day. One of the things that we have to allow for is for the women to PREPARE spices...

"And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." Luk 23:53-56

Some think Wednesday, others Thursday and yet others that Friday was the day of Jesus' death. I lean toward Friday but think that there's a good case for Thursday. In a sense it's academic. My trust in Jesus is not the least linked to any particular day.

Thanks for sharing this interesting discovery.

    Brian,

This decree by Cyrus was probably in 539BC.

"Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem. And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem." Ezr 1:1-4

The foundation of the temple was laid in 536BC.

"Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD." Ezr 3:8

I don't know what date you're looking for, but these dates mark these events in Ezra.

Above all, and most important, there are several errors in the Scripture, because it is translate, and not inspire, those errors does no masked the truth, for the Scripture interpretate itself, and you or we as individuals not led by the spirit of the most high God, it could our demise and confusion of our mind. Yet it is is a living book.

There is vast different between inspiration and translation the latter of the two is man's using his own life experience and his ability to translate the the scripture(Bible), which have several errors in it writing that the sceptics utilizes for silly argument.

Now, first and foremost, as the apostle said,"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. "

For example: number one, Bible, it only can be found on the cover, now, lookup the definition for Bible and Scriptures and you decide which is the most appropriate name for the book. And the book have two covenants, old and new, and not testaments, for the latter is distraction to the true meaning.

  • Fasting and Praying for Self Control - In Reply on Isaiah 54 - 4 years ago
It's more of a lifestyle than a fad diet. I got tired of all the gimmicks. My brain was sending messages that I didn't okay. A sweet tooth is yeast gone wild. Brutal.

Jesus fasted 40 days and nights. The Bible says afterwards, he hungered. So He was drinking plain water. Our human bodies can only go 3-4 days without water; and the kidneys go into crisis. Diabetics, people taking many prescriptions need water and some light food or they can get real ill. Instead, declare a total fast from television, internet, media. It's as hard as denying food.

The idea of fasting is to FEAST on the Bible during. Read whole books. Praise in song and worship

Go for walks. Be your self. Bible says don't brag about your fast. Don't appear unkempt, sad mouthed and dragged out. Dress normal and your spirits should be boosted high just from avoiding media. Does for me.

Declare the fast in obedience to God. Do as unto Him, and it goes smoothly. We can't do it just for ourselves. "Ourselves" don't want to fast.

If Satan hears you praying he's going to open a window and blast in the neighbors backyard barbecue. Look out for satans mean-spirited traps.

If you can't do 7 days, don't worry. You'll be able to do it next time.

Expect a word of encouragement from the Holy Spirit. I fast when I can't make decisions firmly. The Holy Spirit will help you if you ask Him.

    Hope this helps.
