I have spent over 4 decades offhandedly wondering about Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani, but was never called to researched it. I'm not as fluent in Psalms, I've read it 4x, so I was kept in the dark. Matthew 27:46 & Psalm 22:1 & Psalm 42:9 among other scriptures were fulfilled on the cross through Jesus Christ.

    Bible Search Engine Tips

This website has a fantastic Search Engine!

Try it out on your Bible Studies. You'll love it.

Dig, dig deeper, read commentaries ON HERE or read commentaries on Google. Just type scripture verse and type, commentary after it.

The Holy Spirit is your TEACHER. Ask Him. If you'll sit still long enough and be quiet, you will get answers.

    PRAY for a TEACHABLE spirit.

Get a KJV Study Bible that has Center of Each page, reference columns: with the abc notes imbedded within the scriptures. Those send you to other scriptures that EXPAND the meanings or reveal a prophesy.

Back Arrow out of this room to the Search Box. Go to the top.

Put a scripture in it or just a word (like worms) hit the arrow. The search engine will pull up ALL verses with 'worms' in it.

Touch or click the verse and it will highlight yellow.

Scroll downward to the Commentary Box. Click that. It will show you what the scholars interpret that scripture to mean. If there isn't one, then exit and do the same thing on GOOGLE. Type the scripture and spell out Commentary, or History, or.Teaching

Questions answered. It makes studying fun and interesting.

You cannot get lost. Use the back arrow or just exit this site and come back in Again.

There's a quickie link from KJV to Google to help you find a scripture you're unsure about. Access that through the SEARCH BOX. Like: "Many are called but few are chosen."

Learn to study! For yourselves. Share what you find, on here. IT IS FUN! God speaks to us through His Word.

When you sit down to study: pray: I HAVE THE SAME MIND OF CHRIST !! I receive it by faith right now. God watches over His Word To Perform it.

    Habakkuk 2:2-4.

You will find your Identity in the Bible.

You gotta get plugged into the Holy Spirit. Depend on Him. Pursue Him. Be quiet and Listen To Him.

Be adventurous and make use of this websites SEARCH BOX.

Below the search box is a Commentary.

    I use both ALOT.

Type in COVENANT and the search engine will get them all. There's buttons to just read Old Testament or only New Testament.

You sound young. I'd listen to some Greg Laurie on YouTube or FM Radio. It's called Harvest Church. It's a young people ministry. He has sermons on YouTube.

You will lear a lot. Emphasis is on Christian growth: not ministry expansion or book sales. Check it out

Hello, I think what's important is to read what Jesus said and did about it. People accused Him of breaking the Sabbath, but He clarified that it's good to do good on the Sabbath. I think the original purpose was to not labor/work and to rest. That doesn't mean you stop talking, eating, using the bathroom, showering, or avoid basic responsibilities. If someone defines work as 100% of everything we do I would say such a definition would be a bit too broad and missing the original point of the Sabbath.
  • Yvonne given on Isaiah 41 - 4 years ago
Hey there my name is yvonne given , and I have of late been trying to follow God's law, alot of it I do not understand. For example the sabbath the Sunday it says to do no works ect.... Dose this also mean to fast, not talk and not do well anything that brings pleasure to myself such as art or music? And can we pray to jesus but in or heads or with or mouths?, yesterday I just rested and did absolutely nothing as it says the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath.... I have so meany questions on God's laws and trying to understand them I feel I need like wise counsel but its hard to trust churches and ministrys because alot of them make Monay in christ name. Hope u can help thank bk you

I was quite a shy and sensitive person still am but with the Lords help I have obtained the courage to be bold and be a street preacher in LONDON!!! I am so glad that I was shown the glory of the gospel as it has changed my life for the better I used to be a very angry sad bitter person who hated others for being different but with the lord's wisdom and correcting I have become A more loving and caring person. This was not my own doing but the Lord gave me a new heart and I'm very glad that I have it. I am trying my best to be the best Christian i can be and be a good follower of CHRIST JESUS. I still have things I need to work on and improve as I am a simple man but with god helping me anything is possible if god can help a wretch like me he can save Anyone! I know that the dream that I have to meet a godly woman will happen because I put my faith in Lord Jesus. Stay strong in the faith brothers and sisters thank you for reading. Praise Lord Jesus!!!!!

Knowledge is given to those who seek it. Ask God to open up the Bible to your heart. If you want to fast track your experience, I suggest you start off by reading these 5 books in order (of 66):

    1) Genesis

    2) Isaiah

    3) Daniel

    4) Luke

    5) Revelation

This will give you a grasp on the Bibles foundation. Then when you have developed a feel for the Bible, go back and read Genesis through Revelation. It is a never ending learning process. Best of luck to you.

If we were to buy into some erroneous teachings regarding the time of the end we might easily be convinced that Jesus was not coming for his Church until certain scheduled events had occurred, thus ignoring the explicit admonition of Jesus to his disciples:

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. ( Matthew 24:42-44)

Both David and Salomon had serious personality conflicts, and lack of moral judgment. They were lucky God held them in high esteem, found pity on them, and spared them of their selfish, compounded sins.
  • Cindy - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 4 years ago
You can tell the difference between a true prophet and a false prophet by testing. Compare their messages, prophesies, preaching, spirit, teachings, and works of the prophet with the Bible.

Matthew 7:15-20 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

True prophets teach the word of God.

False prophets teach their own words.

Look at the teachings of Jim Jones of the People's Temple and David Koresh of Waco and compare them to that of Billy Graham and John R. Rice and you will have a clear picture of the differences.

The "righteous" as I choose to believe are those who try to remain in Faith and walk with Him. Righteousness as a Christian I would hope is FIRST about Faith and Love and SECOND about good deeds that spring from that Faith and Love. Xo

Soloman's original name was Solomon as named by his father David. Solomon means peace.

Joshua's original name was Hoshea as derived from YAHWEH meaning salvation, referring to the Hebrew God. What a name for a great, but mere man!
  • Darren Croft - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 4 years ago
Jedidiah & Hoshea were their names.

I was blind, then with some preaching and reading of the Word, I saw men walking as trees, then I repented in faith, now I can see and dwell in the peace of Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit.

    Around 30 years ago.

Jesus' death did not cancel the Law He fulfilled the Law. We must not confuse the commandments of Jesus and the law of Moses. The sacrifices of the Law "ye could not be justified by the law of Moses". The law is written in our hearts

We are not justified by the laws but by the faith in Jesus, the things of the law we do through faith not works. If we look to the law to do the law that is works and we are not saved by works but we are saved by grace and belief in Jesus. Just a few scriptures, and few of Jesus's commandments are; Follow Him, Repent, Don't Lust, Love and pray for your enemies, Love one another, Love God, etc. I know you may not agree but the ten commandments are part of the Law.

Gal.5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Ephesians 2:15-16 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Gal.2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

    God blessings

Let's not talk past each other. Chances are that neither of us will change our minds. In my humble opinion, this is a SECONDARY ISSUE, like between disagreements between Calvinists & Arminians or pre & post millennialist or baptism by immersion & baptism by sprinkling.

There are Christians who are old earth creationists (OEC) who are NOT evolutionary creationists. I believe "And God said..." and He caused that thing to happen, not the slow evolution of all life from one organism by random selection and mutation.

Frankly, both sides, YEC & OEC, have their strengths and weaknesses. I was a YEC for a long time, decades. I've read a lot and listened to both sides. OEC makes the most sense to my reading of Scripture and scientific observation.

Psalm 19 declared both the "book" of nature revelation and The Book of supernatural revelation. A correct interpretation of BOTH is essential. I know that's what we all try to do. We have trouble with both in some cases. The MAIN things are the PLAIN things: who God is, who we are, how things got broke, God's plan to fix it, what we need to do. The NON-MAIN things: well we need to be charitable and allow for liberty among Christians. Doesn't mean we can't argue our points. But please, do not mischaracterized another's point of view. As an OEC, I am not an evolutionist in any sense that supports macro evolution, common descent by random selection and mutation!

I think that if we could sit down and look each other in the eye and talk, we would have MORE important, significant things in common than not. And we could discuss those secondary areas where we disagree with civilly and with an open mind. I could be wrong and I'm willing to admit it.

(Unfortunately, there are preachers who cram too many secondary things into the MAIN things, in my opinion.)

What do you think Isaiah 58:13 mean. What I know it means is, that if you don't keep it, you will be lost. Jesus said if ye love me keep my commandments. My brother John - the revelator, Not Sunday. If you do this, You do not love Him. Tell me, if this is truth.

Jesus told the Canaanite woman "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel" to fulfill the scriptures that were written concerning his death burial & resurrection! Scripture for told of his coming in many places! But the Jews could not accept that he was the Messiah because they lacked the faith to see it! But the Canaanite woman having faith worshiped him the scripture says and so Christ honored that and rebuked the devil from her daughter. Only after the crucifixion & resurrection was salvation now open to all.
