If you could then you could have been the sacrificial lamb that take away the sins of the world instead of Jesus. Think about that.

Yes, I am aggressive. I only repeat what the Bible states. We live in a violent time. If we want the violence to end we must believe what the Bible says. We live in a wicked time. If we want heaven on earth we must believe truth.

The day is coming when all people will return to God.

Ps. 34:11: "Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord." I will teach you to hate evil.

"Fear not: Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people" ( Luke 2:10).

We can expect great joy to all people.

I was in church yesterday and a young man came in after the service started. He obviously had something bothering him, as he kept looking down and seemed very worried. Please pray for him, I do not know who he is but he needs prayer. ANd if he is not saved, he needs Jesus, The peace giver.

    Good afternoon,

I just happened to stumble in this area of the website and read the comments about the Bible and women preachers. Let me encourage you there are women preachers in the Word of God. You have Deborah the prophetess in the Old Testament who was one of the Judges ( Judges 4:4-5), the Lady Elect in the New Testament (2 John) and then you have the women who was sent not only by the angel sitting at Jesus' tomb to proclaim He had risen to His disciples, but on the way, they met Jesus who greeted them and instructed them to tell his brethren to go to Galilee to see Him there. They were the first to see and proclaim Jesus was alive and rose from the dead.

Sometimes the Word of God can be misconstrued and taken out of context. This is why we have to pray and study God's word ourselves (ref. 2 Timothy 2:15) along with being taught by our leader.

I also believe King James Version is the best version to read. If you have a hard time understanding ask God to open your understanding to His truth. I also recommend keeping a commentary next to you as you read the Word of God. Matthew Henry is a good commentary to read.

I pray this information has helped you.

Bethel is a place in Israel that originally was called Luz. Moses is not mentioned in any association with Bethel.

Jacob, in Genesis 28, dreamed a vision of a ladder reaching to heaven with angels ascending and descending on it. The LORD stood above it and spoke to Jacob the Promise. Jacob then named the place Bethel, meaning "House of God".

Jacob's vision was an illustration of Jesus Christ becoming the mediator between God in Heaven and sinners on Earth. Jesus' conversation with Nathanael in John 1:47-51 shows us this meaning.

Brother Richard, do you use daily devotion? Check out Daily Light on the Daily Path, a collection of relevant KJV verses, morning and evening, for 365 days without author's comment because the relevant or related verses speak of the idea by themselves. The unknown author did a fabulous job listing them. Pastors can develop sermon notes from them very easily. Thanks

In this scene the Jews did not understand that this drama of Jesus and Barabbas is the same as what the Jews had been doing for centuries. The high priest would bring two goats to the temple. They would both be brought into the Holiest of Holies, behind the curtain and showed there to God. One goat would be taken out and led far out into the wilderness and set free. That goat was the scape goat. The other was slaughtered and its blood offered.

Barabbas was the scape goat and Jesus was the goat slaughtered. The Jews should have easily recognized this but for our sakes, (Gentiles) they were blinded and Jesus was put to death. The innocent for the guilty. Barabbas was guilty of crimes while Jesus was innocent of sin. I thank God for this truth. When we trust in Jesus Christ just as the thief on the cross did, we too can have forgiveness of sin. Our sin was nailed to His cross and I bear it no more. Praise the Lord.

    Greetings, Daphne.

    Yes, Esaias is Isaiah.

    From Strongs Concordance...

    Hsaias

    hay-sah-ee'-as

Of Hebrew origin [H3470]; Hesaias (that is, Jeshajah), an Israelite: - Esaias.

When I search the Old Testament using "H3470" it returns Isaiah.

So the King James scholars translated the Greek word in John 1:23, Hsaias as Esaias. Same guy, Isaiah.

    I'm not loosing any sleep!

    Greetings, Vicki.

Jesus has been teaching His disciples about the end of this age and what signs were to appear. This discourse is recorded by Matthew in chapters 24 and 25. He told them about these things just before He was betrayed and crucified.

There are a lot of details about the future that we have not been told. Some of what has been revealed is symbolic and not entirely clear. How these not-so-clear things are interpreted depends on one method of interpretation, where a lot of suppositions are in place before considering what the millennium really is, for instance.

Some Christians believe that there's no actual 1000 years, that the concept of the millennium is figurative. They are amillenialists.

Some Christians believe that Christ will return AFTER 1000 year or AFTER a long time where Christianity causes things to get better and better. They are postmillennilists.

Some Christians believe that Christ will return BEFORE the 1000 year millenium and Christ will rule the earth. Here's where things get even more complicated. Most premilenialists believe that there will be an actual Tribulation of 7 years. So The Second Coming, when Christ comes to the earth, probably to the Mount of Olives where He Ascended to The Father, may a be different event from The Rapture. So The Rapture may be before The Tribulation or sometime during The Tribulation or right after The Tribulation. It all depends on the assumptions you make in your method of interpretation.

If your head is spinning, don't worry. Whatever you believe, Jesus Christ will return. The dead in Christ will rise. We who are alive and remain will be caught up together to meet them in the air and we will forever be with The Lord.

The MAIN things are the PLAIN things.

Whether you are a, post or pre, if your trust is in Jesus and His saving work on the cross, you will be saved.

    Greetings, Brian.

You asked what does Jesus saves us from.

I'm almost certain that you know many Scriptures like...

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."Joh 3:18

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Heb 9:27

We see that there is judgement and death awaiting those who are not trusting Jesus. So where does that judgement come from?

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."Joh 3:36

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;" Rom 1:18 (KJVA)

"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." Rom 5:9-10

...and there are many more verses, as I am sure you are aware. The wrath of God is the main and all-encompassing reason we need to be saved.

    Hope this helps.

    Donna,

I suggest to find a different church to go to. The NIV version is never accurate, and what you read in the NIV won't ever be true. The NIV is called New International Version. The KJV version is the only one that will EVER be true. God wrote the Bible thousands and thousands and thousands of years ago. Hundreds and hundreds of years later, people have tried to change what the Bible says. Neither God or the Bible will change. So I suggest finding and going to a different church. I have a suggestion of what church you should go to, but first, what state are you in?

    Blessings,

    Sarah Chessiy

I agree ,so many people have told me about their 'mystical experiences ' and when i ask them about where they were or what they were doing more often than not they will say something like ' i had just woke up ' or 'i was just drifting off to sleep when ...' i would never dare to disparrage any ones genuine belief in their personal revelations , i believe God does speak to us ,i also believe that when He does He does not leave us with even the tinniest bit of doubt that it is Him speaking .

Yes, amen. I woke up this morning early with this thought on my mind concerning this passage of scripture. Jesus was also indicating that when they (The world) commit sin during good times, what will they do when things are not so good. For Jesus, that moment was quickly passing as He went to the cross. He knew shortly He would be with His Father and there was trouble ahead for the Jews. He knew it would get much worse for all of them.
  • Brian Downey on Acts 2:31 - 4 years ago
One of the meanings of His name, Jesus, is 'God Saves'.... But saves us, individually, from what? For those heretics who believe solely in the written word, even they must find the Gospel of Matthew convincing in Christ's references to his second coming and the inevitable division. Man knows the truth but cannot always persevere. Calvin was wrong, we are free to choose the truth to our dying breath as did the good thief on the cross. I think it fair to perfection to believe where ever He goes there is The Kingdom of God.
  • Pamela on Matthew 7:23 - 4 years ago
If you are a blood bought believer, and keep choosing to sin then you will not be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven. You are not following His Word.

Hello, Chris. My name is Aaron. I'm responding on the behalf of my great grandmother, Edna, who posted the original comment.

I think she was referring to the seal on the servants of God, mentioned in Revelation 7:3. She was asking what the difference between that seal and the "mark of the beast" was.

Thank you for response! I never expected to get such a thorough response so quickly!

I'll relay your comment to her.

    Thanks again!

  • (Name) - In Reply on 1 Peter 5 - 4 years ago
I know what that's like, to be faithful to God and then straying far away. Just take it slow. You cannot do it on your own, and you know that, so you asked to be prayed for. Ask the Lord everyday for strength, and no matter what, just keep moving forward. Keep reading the Bible everyday, and grow closer to Him. You should be able to move out without as much difficulty if you are on fire for God.
