Chris you wanted more scriptures about marriage.

1 Cor 5:9."I wrote unto you in an epistle (1) not to company with fornicators." The cross reference "not to company with fornicators" sends me to (1) 2 Cor 6:14: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" Do not marry a fornicator.

    Husbands

Eph. 5:25, 26." Husbands love your wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he (JESUS) might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word."

Jesus will sanctify and cleanse the church when he comes. Before he does this, the churches are profane/unholy and unclean. Today Christianity looks like S&G. Jesus will sanctify the church. He will remove fornication from our present day Christianity.

How do you sanctify a person or a church? It is the same for both a person and a church.

"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication" 1 Thes. 4:3."

Notice that Jesus will tell husbands to love their wives the same way as he will love the church. Jesus will remove fornication from the church and make the church holy. He is telling husbands to do the same for marriage. Remove fornication from marriage. Your wives were not given to you to abuse in the unholy manner of fornication. There is no fornication in holy matrimony. Holy people do not commit acts of oral or anal sex.

Where did the sprinkling for baptism come from in the bible?
  • Marilyn Taplin - In Reply on Nehemiah 10 - 4 years ago
The sin of Cain was the same as those in Sodom and Gomorrah. In the book of Jude we are told that those in S&G took the same path as Cain. Jude 1:11, "Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain." Cain was the first person to commit murder and that backs up the Scripture in Romans that tell us murder comes from those given to unnatural sex.

When fornication ends, and it will, all our social ills will end. It would be love for others if we would put an end to the sex of S&G. It is hateful to promote it for that is proof we don't care if other suffer.

I am also a truth seeker. I am not one to declare myself wise to say that there is a right way to salvation. But i am not a fan of religious traditions concerning how many people worship Jesus through idolatry. I will advise you to ask God with all your heart to guide you to your answers through his written words. Wherever you may find them . God will always confirm what is his truth . I do not dismiss the importance of the death of Jesus, but even the scriptures of what Jesus declares clearly says to not worship him. That the laws of Moses and the commandments should not be forgotten.

I love the Lord my God with all my heart and soul. I fear to follow any religious traditions that i can not understand. Especially when it comes down to man made images. This is just my belief. My blind faith.

Sin really has nothing to do with animals being in heaven. We, as humans sin. We have a God given will and with that will.many times we fall short of heaven. It is because of Goda grace, mercy and forgiveness we inherit heaven. It is the blood that God will see not the sin..Scripture tells us that God cannot look upon sin. That is the reason the blood of Jesus Christ was applied to our lives. His Blood covers our sin. It does not keep us from sinning, that is still our will a d choice to do. When we come to the place that we fall and sin we have an advocate with God, His Son Jesus Christ. By the Holy Spirit Hw leads us in the paths of righteousness FOR HIS NAME SAKE. Without His blood applied to our live and our acceptance and faith in His atoning work on Calvary we cannot enter into heaven. But by His Grace and His precious blood we can and will. Thanks to our Savior Jeaua Christ.

I don't believe Adam and Eve were the only two people on earth. They are alone in their story to show that sin began with a man and his wife and not with two men or two women. There were other people for their children to marry. This ends the confusion about how the earth was populated.

It does help to have a correct definition of fornication.

    The New Testament Greek Lexicon

    For the word fornication

This lexicon has been developed to aid the user in understanding the original text of the Greek Old and New Testament. By using the Strong's version of the King James and New American Standard Bibles, a deeper knowledge, of the passage being studied, can be gained.

    Strong's Number: 4202 porneia

    Original Word Word Origin

    porneia from (4203)

    Transliterated Word Phonetic Spelling

    Porneia por-ni'-ah

    Parts of Speech TDNT

    Noun Feminine 6:579,918

Definition Includes: illicit (forbidden) sex, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.

Illicit means not allowed, improper, prohibited. Ora and anal sex is prohibited for all humans.

God tells us that the body is not made for fornication. "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication, 1 Thess 4:3." The reason a person abstains from fornication in order to be holy is because fornication is the sin that makes a person unholy - unlike God.

In 1 Corinthians 6:13 it declares, "The body is not made for fornication, but for the Lord." The human body is not made for fornication and that includes the bodies of a man and his wife.
  • S Spencer on spiritual fornication on Matthew 7 - 4 years ago
Thank you Chris on those great verses on fornication you gave. You presented it as a broken relationship between "two" it made me think of a key word in marriage, "Joined". (To be yoked together). That brings me to also think of spiritual fornication, If fornication was any other way than the way you described it, we wouldn't understand the meaning of spiritual fornication. I believe God gives us marriage not just for barring children, but to communicate Christ relationship to the church, and Gods relationship to Israel. Not to mention how would we understand the book of Hosea? We see often in the old testament God called Israel his wife and he was a husband to them. Here is one of many:

Isaiah 54:4-5. Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Here is one of many verses Israel committing fornication, Jeremiah 3:8. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. Fornication defined properly is essential to understanding scripture.

Isn't this hymn, LORD, HER WATCH THY CHURCH IS KEEPING, lovely?

    Lord almighty, give the word!

Give the word! in every nation

    Let the Gospel trumpet sound,

    Witnessing a world's salvation,

    To the earth's remotest bound.

Then the end! Thy Church completed,

All Thy chosen gathered in, ...

    Henry Downton, 1866.

"This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14

With their King in glory seated,

    Satan bound, and banished sing

    Beatrice,

"Why is the shedding of blood need for the taking away sin"

Because the principle established in Eden was a life for life. "the wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23. "for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof" Leviticus 17:14, God has instructed us that blood is sacrosanct, that is, it has meaning beyond function.

Sinful Adam and Eve covered themselves with a lesser species of creation, as did sinful Satan. By the grace of God, he gave them a temporary acceptable covering, reflecting to Adam and Eve that his justice will be

done. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin" Romans 5:12. In Eden it was God who demonstrated death for Adam and Eve and established the meaning of a blood sacrifice. The works of man has

no standing in God's performance of absolute justice.

I love Hebrews 2:14 in the King James Bible, but I also love the 2 verses beginning in Hebrews 2:14 (The Message).

    The Message (MSG)

14-15 Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.

    Especially verse 15! Don't you?

I sensed in my spirit the Lord revealing a couple of scriptures to me and I looked these up

I have been saved and filled with his Sweet Holy Spirit a pretty long time. I was taught to

spend time in the Word of God and pray. We had memory verses in Sunday School and I

got to memorize quite a bit of scripture; I did not seem to enjoy the Word of God as much

as a 12 year old as I did when I got older & really gave my life to the Lord completely. When

I finally gave the Lord 1st place in my life that is when the Word of God became very alive

to me. When I was not committed to the Lord it was at 1st hard for me to read it. Very early

My thoughts, Tom, is that it could very well be translated "mansion" as the King James Bible has.

And don't you just love the hymn, IS MY NAME WRITTEN THERE?

    based on

    John 14.2

"Oh! that beautiful city, with its mansions of light,

    With its glorified beings, in pure garments of white;

    Where no evil thing cometh to despoil what is fair;

Where the angels are watching, yes, my name's written there."

    Mary A. Kidder, 1876.

"in the Lamb's book of life." Revelation 21:27

    Genesis 1:29

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

6And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
