  • S Spencer Romans 1 Idolatry on Hebrews 10 - 4 years ago
    Romans 1:18-26. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; HERE'S WHERE THEY IGNORED GODS GLORY IN HIS CREATION AND WORSHIPED IDOLS, AND "GOD" GAVE THEM OVER TO HOMO SEXUALITY.

(((so that they are without excuse:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things))).

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: WE SIN BECAUSE WE INHERITED ADAMS FLESHLY NATURE.

Romans 5:19. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

"When fornication ends all the sins above will end"(?). I'm sorry, I've tried desperately to understand where you're coming from with this belief & though you've not stated it, I think that your belief stems from a skewed understanding of God's Word that has been introduced to you. You're coming from a standpoint that fornication is the root of all sin, therefore seeing it in every Scripture that relates to any sin. I really encourage you to do a fresh reading of God's Word & see how far off the track you've gone by forcing sexual sin to be the common denominator to every other sin.

Even with the Romans passage you've quoted, fornication has been 'forced' into its meaning. Why was "the Wrath of God revealed from Heaven?" Because in their darkened hearts, they chose to worship the creation rather than their Creator: idolatry was their sin, not fornication. And because of their idolatry, God gave them up to the other sins of: various lusts, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, envy, murder, etc. Sins do not start from fornication - Adam did not fornicate: he had a natural beautiful relationship with his newly created wife until the great deception came upon them. Fornication cannot take place within marriage - if there is unfaithfulness, then it's called adultery.

You have every right to present your views but as you can see, you will get very little or no support to them, at least from those who have some knowledge of the Bible. Do you really believe that such views as you hold could ever convince us that fornication is the root of all sin? One would have to throw out the intent of a whole lot of Scripture to entertain your views. And you've chosen not to further debate my presentation of the earlier Scriptures you've given: rather you should have eagerly challenged me over them & defended your understanding if you're truly serious about conveying your sincere beliefs. I hope that with the time we've spent on this, that you may read the Word differently.

    Sherl,

"however you can fall from grace."

In the conditions you describe,"the fall from grace", is a situation of broken fellowship with God, not a total loss of salvation. Gross sin, or presumptuous sins may plague a believer, and thereby strain their relationship to God, and the way to correct that status is as you said, repent and ask forgiveness. For example, your children, can either be pleasant and agreeable or ornery and difficult, in either case, they never stop being your children. Christians of all depths/ages/maturity, work out their own experience of being saved, some do better than others. The father of the prodigal son, had two sons. The one who remained with his father also had issues that the father had to deal with. God does not throw out the baby with the bath water, and keeping them clean, is given his full attention. Hebrews 10:30&31"For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Notice that all sins come from fornication.

Romans 1; 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

When fornication ends all the sins above will end. Murder comes from the minds of the fornicators. Murder will end. It would be love for all humans to put an end to fornication, unnatural sex. It is the foundation of all our social ills.

In Revelation 2:20 the letter to Thyatira the Lord commends them for what they do well,, Afterwards take a close look at something, Notice what the Lord have against them.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou (((SUFFEREST))) that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

He's not condemning them for fornication, (spiritual) and to eat things sacrificed to idols. He's condemning them for allowing Jezebel to teach and seduce his servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols!!! We got to be careful who we provide a platform for!

This site is the closest thing some people is going to come into the Church, and there is some Great teachers on here, Please don't let this site be where heresies take root!! Where do you draw the line, Ww are providing a platform for false teaching under the name of Christ.

If you read what I posted I think it's obvious that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist to fulfill all righteousness.

Matthew 3:15 "And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him." 16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:"

If you look at the bottom of your previous response, this was in reply to why you questioned, the need for Jesus to be baptized.

these are your words, The question, Why did Jesus need to be baptized is a good question.

I believe this is what you would be looking for, He went to preach unto the the souls that were lost in the great flood from Noah's day. As for Adam and Eve there is no indication to where they are, in heaven or hell that I'm aware of.

Genesis 5:5 "And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died."

1 Peter 3:19 Context 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Do not be confused and led astray. Swine is unclean and the most High have never said it is okay to eat it. This is a future prophecy. The most High does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. Do not be led astray by these men who do not know the bible.

    2 Peter 3:16

as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are UNLEARNED and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own DESTRUCTION.

I believe it is once save always save, however you can fall from grace if you sin and continue to sin or commit the same sin over and over. You have to repent and ask God for forgiveness.

The story of Job and his wife is a picture of being unequally yoked together with a nonbeliever. Job was a person who hated evil. He did not believe in committing oral or anal sex. His wife did commit Satan's sex. Jesus is going to change the grounds for divorce from adultery to fornication. That means Job had the right to divorce his wife. She believed in fornication.

Matthew 19:9 "whosoever shall put away his wife except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery." Job could have divorced his wife and he could have married another wife and he would not have committed adultery. Job had grounds for divorce, however divorce is not the only choice. He could remain married and not join his wife in sin. The day will come when the grounds for divorce will be changed from adultery to fornication.

I am struggling to comprehend the context of the word 'defile' in Leviticus 21:1-3. I do not understand how a person can 'defile' their mother, father, brother, virgin sister which had no husband, son , or daughter. What does the scripture mean by allowing next of kin being able to defile the deceased relative? Thank you in advance for your reply.

I've only heard that phrase in the context of a catholic mass, not in the Bible. The Bible says there's one God and describes these 3 entities of God. Hard to understand? Of course, nothing new. Just because we don't 100% grasp it doesn't mean we should go trying to reinterpret the Bible or throw out some of its verses or claim that it isn't 100% true.

Side Note : I agree with 1 John ... in respect to the fact there the three are one in mind intent and purpose,,, Ie the mind of God the Father but as for there being three minds is a little far reach for me. Although we do know that Jesus had is own mind and will but he never did anything of his own will for he always did those things that pleased the father that was his total intent... He could do nothing of himself . The proof is where the rubber met the road ... he said Not my WILL BUT THY WILL BE DONE. Even Jesus never mentioned counseling with the Holy Ghost for anything.

After some consideration , and research ,, the ? as to when the Doctrine was excepted or agreed upon makes me think that there must be some miss communication. In the original writings the phrase . In the Name of the Father AND the Son AND the Holy Ghost was not there , in fact it was not adopted until some time later ... (Origin of the Trinity ) tells me something different . There are two many scriptures that tell us that there is only one true God and his son to ignore, i wont try to list them all wright now but given time i might be able to provide , any way i just want to know the truth according to the written word... pary that God might open our eyes ..

Which is greater of the two Life or Death ? and the homosexual stated Life !!!

I then said, since the union between a Man and a Women is the only way to create Life.

Then why do so many homosexuals choose the oppisite ????

    Death !!!!!!!!

In Old Testament, the Jewish people and their ancestors were given the Law to observe. First, What Adam and Eve should observe was that they could not eat the fruits from the tree of wisdom. Then, their son Cain was told that he should not kill. As sins became increased, the laws were also added more. Up to the generation of Moses, the Law in Old Testament was given to Israelites. We know that the Law is good and the Law is used to punish people who commit sins, but people cannot obey the Law because the sinful spirits are in people. Even that we know stealing and giving false testimony are sinful, but greedy and pride spirits in us drive us to do sinful things. So as Old Testament prophesied we need to get rid of our sinful nature from our spirits.

Ezekiel 36 section 24-27 says: "'For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

The prophecies are fulfilled when Jesus begins to teach love. The two greatest commandments are " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Love is above the Law and if people have love they are free from the law of sin and death. People who are full of love will not think about stealing or giving false testimony but are merciful and they feed hungry people or give thirsty people something to drink or invite strangers in or clothe people who need clothes. The Law is for people who commit sins. Nobody will say that he will get reward because he does not steal before. But love is the grace we get.
