    Jane,

I believe it was his earthly body, and there are two reasons for why I believe that. Firstly, the grave clothes were empty, and secondly, he had the prints of the nails and wound in his side, from his crucifixion to offer to Thomas. John 20:5,6,7 and v.27

    Alec Ford,

Two very destructive sins are, feeling saved by our works, and, feeling unsaved by our works. Believers are saved by the grace of God and faith.

Phillipians 4:7 speaks of your heart. lest you be fearful, and your mind, lest you are doubtful. The Lord is working to keep Christians from those two crippling afflictions, which Christians bear while connected to the flesh and the old nature.

Hebrews 10:2 doesn't speak of feelings, as Chris has graciously tried to help you with, but instead, knowledge of sin, through the God given conscience. Christians often battle with presumptuous sins, Psalms 19:13 "Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me". Were it not for salvation, your conscience wouldn't trouble you so much. Therefore, take heed to the wretchedness we share with Paul in Romans 7:25 and Romans 7:14. The flesh/old nature, constantly gnaws at our faith/trust, whereby God has saved us. Chris is correct in asking, was your trust in the Lord to have died for you real? Then, should, you say yes indeed, take "the shield of faith, Ephesians 6:16, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked" and press onward to the day God takes away your flesh, and till then, the shield of faith, will guard your heart and mind. Because God is able 2 Timothy 1:12, and the believers hope/expectation is Psalm 17:15. Day by day, here a little, there a little, God changes believers to a likeness of his son, and will complete that transition only after we leave this lost world.

Two very destructive sins are, feeling saved/worthy by our works/choices, and, feeling unsaved/unworthy by our works/choices. Believers are saved by the grace of God and faith in the work He has done through His Son dying for sinners.

There's nothing indicated in the Bible about cremation, whether for the Jew or Christian. The only possible cremation event we have is in 1 Samuel chapter 31, where the dead King Saul & his sons (killed by the Philistine army) were found by the people of Jabeshgilead & they burnt their bodies & then buried their bones; so this was not a cremation in its fullest sense.

But from a Christian perspective, we have no commandment to prohibit cremation & this is often taken up as an option, given the higher costs of buying a plot & the burial. And not knowing the RCC position on this (one would have to ask their priest), I would think that they too would permit it, under certain conditions. The early Church of the New Testament, would have used tombs or sepulchres as the Jews did, & so we today, generally bury our dead. My preference is for burial rather than cremation, though this is purely a person's choice.

I believe that Jesus, who was God's Word made Man to minister to His people, to suffer & die for them, rose up in that same Body. However, to enter Heaven, a body has to be transformed (or, we could say, outfitted for Heaven) as "flesh & blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God" 1 Corinthians 15:50. Whether it's the Lord Jesus or even ourselves, we cannot reside in Heaven, in God's Presence, in our present bodily state: we have to be changed.

And Paul also says, "And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." ( 1 Corinthians 15:49). As we are presently flesh & blood fitted for earthly life, so the day will come when we shall be fitted out for heavenly life.

John also says something similar: "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." ( 1 John 3:2). Some understand that this verse tells us that not only we will be like Him in His Character & Perfection, but also in our glorified bodies.

Alec, neither of those Scriptures you've given apply to your situation. Hebrews 10:2, speaks about the Jews who had to yearly offer sacrifices to obey God's Commands & to avert His Anger upon them. The sacrifices could never remove sin or their guilty consciences & that is why they had to be offered each year. Philippians 4:7, is an encouragement for those given to worry & anxiousness. Paul suggests that they commit their problems to the Lord in prayer with praise to the One Who will deal with their matters.

You've indicated that you're feeling guilty over past sins. And for some reason, unlike the first time, you now can't rid yourself of this dilemma you're in. Usually, in such situations, folk have truly called upon the Lord for salvation or restoration, but haven't let go of their sins, their past life, or the pain they have inflicted upon others. When we come to the Lord for spiritual healing, we do so entirely based on faith in His Word, in His Power to be able to do this, & Promise that it will be "thy faith hath made thee whole". If we're dwelling on past sins, & lets face it, the memory will always be there but should not burden us anymore or bring on guilt, then we really haven't put those sins upon Jesus to bear them & forgive us - rather, inwardly we believe that Jesus has failed to hear our cry, we are not forgiven & we have to continue to live with the mental & spiritual uncertainty & torment.

Take stock of what took place when you came to the Lord. Did you earnestly seek His forgiveness for your many sins? Did you sense in your heart that He had done so according to His Word ( John 3:14-18)? That He will no longer resurrect those forgiven sins & accuse you of them ( Hebrews 10:14-17). Why should we then allow those past sins come back to haunt us? Leave it at the Cross - tell Satan who is taunting you with this, that you're a child of God, covered in Christ's Blood ( James 4:7), that you ARE forgiven. Spend much time in God's Word & pray for healing.

An Apostle is a Messenger - one who is sent out by his Master. In the case of the apostles in the Bible, the chief criterion was that they had to learn under their Master & be obedient to His directions. However, Paul was an exception as he was unlike the others. But he was referred to as an apostle, having first being called by Jesus to "be a chosen vessel unto me, to bear My Name before the Gentiles & kings & the children of Israel ( Acts 9:15). And Paul often referred to himself as an apostle of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 1:1, Romans 1:1, etc.).

Ephesians 5:25-27, "as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

What the Apostle Paul was speaking of in this passage has a dual application. He speaks about Jesus loving His Bride (the Church) by giving Himself for her. So we have not only had our hearts cleansed by His death & being forgiven by the Father, but He has sanctified us (i.e. set us apart as a Holy people) & cleansed us by washing us by the Word. Just as water baptism (a once only act) gives the believer a visible, practical testimony to himself & others of God's Work in Him, so to, the washing by the Word of God continues to be applied to that new regenerated heart, continually washing away the dross from one's life (the doubts, fears, sins, lies from the Devil, etc.). For those who seldom attend to God's Word, are usually those who seldom find full victory over these things in their lives. All this did Christ do for us & continues to do so by His Spirit, to the end that He might present us to the Father, a holy, glorious Church.

I know of this teaching: that water baptism is no longer valid. It is an old teaching that assumes that both water baptism & the Lord's Supper were instituted for the sake of & the establishing of the Church (& if taken further, that all spiritual gifts have also ceased). Once the Church formed, established & strengthened by the apostles, the 2nd Century Church onwards, then moved forward in faith alone, attending only to the study of the Word, prayer, fellowship, & sharing the Gospel. I can understand that point of view, but don't find any authority from the Bible to do so, as both water baptism & breaking of bread are very special events in the life of a believer, if observed properly & done sincerely.

Yes, the holy spirit is described as the spirit of God. People keep getting caught up in the same thing over and over. I think the real question is do you believe the Bible or not. Do you believe 1 John 5:7 is truth? If so then believe what it says. It clearly gives 3 dimensions of God and says the 3 are one. It's indisputable.

As for the word "trinity" that's only a made up word to describe the concept the Bible already talks about. People in the Bible also didn't talk about going to the bathroom, but you can assume they did. It would be a logical fallacy to claim, aha! no one in the Bible ever talked about going to the bathroom, therefore no one ever did, ever. The word for trinity is only to make describing the relationship of God the father, the son, and the holy spirit more convenient in one word. But certainly no one has to use that one word, they can just quote scripture that says the same thing.

Beware that satan is going around to Christians and deceiving many with lies and distortions of the truth. If anyone gets confused, just read the Bible yourself and pray for understanding.

Simply put Faith is something you believe in without a doubt. example, when you sit in a chair that you have never sat in before, do you check it out to make sure that it is safe or do you just sit in it, trusting that it was built to hold a human weight. This, to me would be an example of Faith that it was built to be safe. Or when you see a little child and see the trust they have in their parents to protect and nourish them, this is another example of Faith. Throughout the NT there are many examples of Faith, John 20:25 Thomas who just spent 3 years with Jesus, but had doubt on His resurrection, until Jesus showed himself to him, Mark 5:25-34 is of a woman who had an issue of blood, and believed, and she was healed. Matthew 8:10 the Roman centurion believed and his servant was healed. Likewise as Christians we need to believe that Jesus death and resurrection on the cross is the only way to our salvation. Hebrews chapter 11 Paul explains faith in great detail, Matthew 18:3 tells us to become and believe as a child. I hope this helps.

John 20:25 "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."

Mark 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Mark 5:34 "And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."

Matthew 8:10 "When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

Has anyone ever noticed,,, that not one time under the old or new covenant did anyone ever preach the Doctrine of the trinity ...! And what is the Name of the Father, or the HolyGhost, we know the name of the Son,,, his name is Jesus / we know that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost , then how dose that make him the ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER...HMMMMM. IS IT possible that there is only two in the Godhead and that the Holy Ghost is the spirit of the Father.? All through the scripture God the Father and his son Jesus are the only two that are consistently glorified Never the Holy Ghost in the same context. I think i need to reconsider and find the truth ...

JOB's' wife's sin was the same as the sin in Eden.

Job 2:9."Then said his wife unto him, dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God and die."

Gen 3:6 "And when the women saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit."

Job's wife is giving Job some advice. Why don't you lose your inner goodness, which is your integrity, which comes from having the Holy Spirit---truth? Why don't you sin the sin that blasphemes the Holy Ghost? Curse God and die (speaking of a spiritual death.) Job's wife was asking Job to do the same as Eve wanted Adam to do. Job would not. He made the choice not to sin. Job was unequally yoked together with a person who served the devil, and in most cases the person who serves the devil will want their spouse to do so also. They will try and persuade their spouse to commit unnatural sex.

Job was a person who feared the Lord, which means he hated evil and would not join his wife in evil.

Human kind needs to understand what has brought all the violence to earth. This sin in Eden is the sin Jesus comes to earth to put an end to so we can experience heaven on earth. He will not come to condemn but he comes to deliver. How many homosexual would choose deliverance over acceptance?

In the Christian love feasts/gatherings, they were spots (Gk. hidden reefs/rocks that cause shipwreck) against the solidness of the Church, appearing to bring worthwhile teaching but were just dry clouds, as trees with dried, dying fruit on them but also doubly dead with rotting root as well (roots that no longer bound the tree into the earth, but could easily be 'plucked up' with little effort), etc., etc. When you see this, "beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ". It may well be that these "filthy dreamers" were introducing fornication into the Church as well, supporting their teaching that gives permission to the appeal of the flesh, but the message of Jude is to beware of these men who are children of Satan & who do not come in the Name of the Lord, neither do they teach nor behave as children of Light.

"What do I think of Christianity today?" By & large, the Church is not in a good state - we have left some of the apostolic teaching, vibrancy & urgency to both the saved & the lost. The Church essentially has lost its witness & the World loves to have it this way - the World then can have no Divine pronouncement of Judgement against their wicked deeds. Jesus' message to the 7 Churches should also be given heed today. Hypocrisy & compromise are the Churches' leading errors & our abject failure to bring the requirements of God to the forefront of the secular world; & I refer to the failure of our fundamental, evangelical Churches. But to those Churches that entertain marriage of homosexuals, women clergy, ordination of women/homosexuals, & turning a blind eye to the same conditions of Sodom in our cities & maybe within the Church as well, (& with govts. pandering to homosexuals' demands, remain equally culpable before God), it would be like walking on the circumference of Hell. Indeed, the Church at large is in a mess, but there is still a remnant that are led of God's Spirit & are in anguish.

Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill, If you read in Luke he was also circumcised and he didn't need to be, likewise in Matthew, John says that he needed to be baptized of Jesus, but Jesus reply's that all righteousness needs to be fulfilled.

Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Luke 2:21 "And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb."

Matthew 3:11 "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:"

Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Actually, I meant 'physical death', as you mentioned those who "walk uprightly & if they then fall dead". If they're upright, then no death; if they fall, then death, is how I understand your statement. Or maybe, we need to define 'uprightness & righteousness' pertaining to how the upright might fall. And of course, death (both physical & spiritual) must come to us as we are sinners deserving of both. Had Adam not sinned, he would not have died in both ways. One day, I will die physically because of sin, but through Christ & God's Mercy, I will be spared spiritual death.

I know there are some sins more 'severe' than others, but the Bible doesn't differentiate that any 'lesser' sin committed can spare man from God's Judgement. You seem to have settled in your mind, that fornication is the 'ultimate, deadliest' sin. I don't know where you have learned this or maybe been a witness to such a tragedy that has deeply affected you. One can never discount this sin, but really, is it any greater than murder, theft, rape, deceit, hypocrisy, etc.? Is the murder of George Floyd any less or greater a murder than of an unborn child? Is the rampage & desecration of the Capitol any less or greater a crime than of one breaking in & destroying your home & privacy? All are sin before God: whether fornication of the most despicable sort or the lust conceived in the heart of man.

You quote Jude, but again, I feel that I need to share a little about the book, since you are seeing 'fornication' written all over it. Jude in verse 3 writes about those 'men, ungodly men, who crept into the Church'. Jude gives examples of God's past Judgements (as given to the Egyptians, the angels who rebelled along with Satan, & to Sodom). As with them, these ungodly men will not escape, these who have done the works of Cain (wrong hearts/motives/rebellion), of Balaam (greed), & of Core (Korah: insubordination, rebellious, desire to be prominent).
