There is no such thing as once saved always saved, this is an excuse people uses to try and cover up their sinful ways! If you are a born again Christian, repented of your sins, and been baptized then you are saved, but if you sin and do not repent and are truly sorry for that sin, you are a backslider. I see a lot of coverups and excuses about the Word of God on here for sin: Jesus don't take excuses he takes a blood-bought church that's unspotted and without sin. Put your faith in no man word, go to Jesus because he is the way, the truth and the life!

The Bible does not stand as a perfect or scientific document. Just speaking on KJV 1611, it is a sloppy manuscript, littered with topical flaws, contradictions and inconsistencies. To even notice the errors, you would have to read corresponding passages over and over, and over to compare and patch them together like a game of "concentration".

One example for the thick is Paul on his way to Damascus:

Acts 9:7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

Acts 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

So, what is it, huh? Did they hear the voice or not? I can do this all day with hundreds of verses that infuriate me.

As far as the earths shape is concerned, it is definitely spherical, like the other planets/moons. Though they reach for the stars, I will bring them down to the pit. Amos 9:2 LEO, 400 miles up is our limit, then we hit the firmament hard, keeping mankind "in". Space programs like governments are shrouded in mystery, deception, lies and fraud. NASA could prove the earths shape, but prefer to stoke the division of uncertainty. Did you see earths curvature last year when SpaceX posted the mission video? What about the earth casting a "round" shadow on the moon during an eclipse? Plato and Socrates saw the curved shadow and determined the earth was round.

For fun, Google "They're Alive!! Challenger Crew Found Alive and Well 30 years since the Disaster". The hoaxter astronauts didn't even bother to change their names!!!

Hi Betty, many people have different opinions on this subject, but really, no one's opinion matters. You should just read God's word directly and pray to God for understanding. He wants you to seek Him and He will reward you through that effort. Ask for wisdom and He will grant it.

I will offer my opinion. Even in the days when Paul wrote the letters there was confusion, which is why Paul wrote so much about the subject of salvation, works, and grace. People often take one portion then draw assumptions, while forgetting the rest. It all needs to be taken as a whole for a proper perspective, in my opinion. Either extreme side can be abused- someone who claims he's saved may intentionally sin and claim it's ok, which is contrary to what Jesus said. Jesus, however, also got upset at the pharisees who were extremely law abiding, while missing the whole point about loving God and loving others, so they were wrong too.

I might also challenge the assumption of someone being 'saved'. Are Christians truly saved now before judgment day? I think people are judged on judgment day THEN saved. What is a Christian? A Christ-follower. What does that mean? It's an action- a verb- to actively follow Christ. That involves movement, growth, change. The Bible is filled with challenges for ourselves to constantly improve our Christian walk. So, I look it as someone driving down a freeway heading in a certain direction- toward Jesus. We may hit bumps in the road, we may swerve, we may even get a flat tire and stop temporarily, but if we still continue toward Jesus then we are a real Christian with our sins covered by grace. However, if we as a Christian get deceived and exit off, turn around and start heading the opposite direction to the world of sin and evil, and intentionally denounces the faith, then I no longer believe a Christian is covered by grace or saved.

"Building a case on Paul's thorn in the flesh"

Please brethren help me build a case on Paul's thorn in the flesh. I need your help gathering scripture, verses, and any information regarding "Paul's Thorn" so far I have discovered a few possibilities. In

( 2 Corinthians 12:5-10) Paul mentions:Verse 5 "infirmities" then in verse 7 he mentions the "thorn in the flesh" but in the same verse he wrote "the messenger of satan" and it also says "to buffet me" then in verse 9 he mentions "infirmities" again.

But in verse 10 this is where it gets interesting he mentions ("infirmities" "reproaches" "necessities" "persecution" and "distresses".) So far I have found one major clue its in ( Acts 28:1-6) it's right after they survived the shipwreck and landed in Melita. It mentions a venomous snake in verse 3 that "fastened on his hand" but I know there are many other possibilities for Paul's thorn in the flesh. Some scholars mention he had eye problems or that he was beaten, others say he had men who opposed him. Can you please help me gather proof on these claims please. God Bless you all in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.

Well thank you for calling it interesting I guess. What "assumptions" did I make that were false to you? I won't argue with anyone about this because I can't force anyone to believe anything. There is something called truth. And if I'm wrong then I take responsibility for what I've said. To have mature friendly conversations with others is always good. Even if beliefs are not exactly the same. If you call what I wrote "arguing" I apologize and am sorry you see it like that.

So to say you wont pick apart "all the logical errors presented here" just makes me feel you're saying I'm wrong and you're right? Then are you saying I'm twisting the Bible in some way? So you think it means what you want, or perceive, but what I see is false or wrong? After spending much time researching. Yet you won't let me know what you say is wrong with my statement. No problem, you can call it all wrong. But what if it's not?

So our belief is crazy? So where are your countless means of proof of the shape of the earth? And if you're going to tell me CGI pictures, what's on TV, what nasa says, or what they teach in school no need to reply brother.

Like I said before. I won't condemn people for believing what they were taught in this world. You call me in error, false, and with crazy beliefs because they are not of this "world". I still love you. God Bless.

This portion in Isaiah 14:4 onwards, speaks specifically about the King of Babylon, who was wicked, presumptuous, & had delusions of grandeur (as many of the heathen kings did). However, verses 12-15 are also seen as a description of the Devil, as one who entertained sin (to be like God), was cast out from Heaven (when he was once an angel there), onto Earth (& we know what mischief he got to here), & whose domain is Hell, though being the god of this world leading many people into his domain.

You can also read in Ezekiel 28:11-19 where a similar accusation was made to the King of Tyrus, but has a wider meaning & fulfilment in Satan. So, these portions have nothing to do with Christ's resurrection & ascension.

Re: Discussion regarding once saved, always saved

If saved person commits sin after he was saved, does he remain saved to the end? Is his name not written in the Book of Life at his salvation? Can his name be stricken from the book? If so, for what reasons? If he simply repents can his name be added back at that moment? Or, does he have to be judged on the day of judgement to be added back? I am truly lost on scriptures regarding once saved, always saved! After judgement, then Jesus makes the final decision right? How does this all work?

You'll find that reference in Zechariah 9:9.
  • Chris - In Reply on Acts 14 - 4 years ago
In the New Testament, 'predestination' is mentioned twice: Ephesians 1:5 & 1:11. In both cases, the Apostle Paul indicates that the Christian has been predestined to be 'adopted as God's children' and 'to receive an inheritance in His Kingdom'.

So both these verses point to a Christian's assurance that God has secured a destiny for us that is immutable because of Christ's sacrifice for our sins enabling God forgiving us & our acceptability into His family. That God is now our Father, where we once obeyed & served our former evil father, & that God's Son is our (elder) brother who has shown us the way, indeed was the Way, to our Father, ought to bring us much joy, comfort & assurance in the Work of God for us.

It should be said, that there are some who believe that God has predestined each human being to either eternal life or eternal death & that no amount of preaching, convicting or urging can alter that determination by God. That belief is untrue & I don't know whether this aspect is in your mind as you asked your question. If that was the case, there would be no need for the Gospel, nor preaching, nor responding - indeed, the Cross itself would be brought into question. We do know that God, in His Omniscience (His foreknowledge) knows all about His creation & who will or will not respond to the Cross. But that Knowledge doesn't determine who will be saved or who will be denied salvation. Just thought to add this if you were wondering.

Isaiah 9:6 what does it mean when it says seek God for the living to the dead?
  • Adam - In Reply on Acts 14 - 4 years ago
It interesting how you reply and present your side, which includes false assumptions, then end by saying you don't think Christians should argue about it. If that's what you believe then why did you start arguing over it?

I won't pick apart all the logical errors presented here, but will just mention one very common one people use to twist the Bible to say what they want is they do selective translations. Even though the Bible is already translated in the best way, someone will find something they don't like, then go to the Greek or Hebrew to try to re-translate it themselves. The problem with this is it's already translated, far more carefully and accurately than someone just trying to change one word that seems inconvenient to a person at the time. People use this fake news technique to justify all kinds of crazy beliefs. So, I will call it out when I see it. The earth is round just like the Bible says and that's easily proven today by countless means. God bless.

  • Chris - In Reply on Esther 2 - 4 years ago
We are not told specifically in the Scriptures as to why Mordecai, Esther's cousin, chose her to come before the king. My thoughts are that Mordecai, already in a prominent position in Shushan (the palace), wanted to have a Jewish presence right there near the King's Throne. He may not have known it at the time, but it seems that God was leading Mordecai to offer Esther to the king as his wife, that in the days ahead, she would be instrumental in the salvation of her people, the Jews. In any other situation, the wicked Haman would have got his way with the king & the Jews there would have been destroyed.

You may read & consider the following Scriptures. But I should say, that when I think of a Christian as being permanently saved & can never lose his/her salvation, I think of a person who has come to Christ on God's Directions & Terms & has God's indwelling Spirit in them; as opposed to those who have not, & just 'grace' a Church building with their presence or may lead hypocritical lives, or for many other reasons. So, these Scriptures apply to a true believer, purchased by God through His Son, clearly showing that God never discards His children.

    John 10:27-30; John 3:3,16,36; John 5:24; John 6:37,39; 1 John 5:13; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:13,14; Philippians 1:6; Romans 8:29,30,38,39.
