  • 3 Major Plagues in the Bible on Deuteronomy 18 - 5 years ago
3 PLAGUES IN THE BIBLE FROM ASIA/CHINA: (you will need Bible Maps)

    Hosea 10:12

    Revelation 16:12

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the EAST.

    Revelation 9:16-18

The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number. And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulfur (national colors of China) and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. By these THREE PLAGUES, A THIRD OF MANKIND IS KILLED by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths.

    Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

    Isaiah 49:12

Behold, these shall come from AFAR, and behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Syene."

China gave us Swine FLU. SARS virus, Corona virus. I got a feeling that corona virus isn't done killing yet.

Google "Past Pandemic LIST". (That has World death totals)

I don't think we need to act like this is just like past FLU episodes. We get a flu shot and feel protected for another year. Corona virus doesn't act like past flu's.

I didn't know there were any scriptures of China in the Bible. I looked it up as a lark.

  • FIRST LOVE - In Reply on Romans 6 - 5 years ago
I think when Jesus is speaking to Nicodemas in John 3, he tells him that he must be born again to understand that which is spiritual.

Through Adams fall, that spiritual connection (life) was forfeited until The Death of Jesus paid for the sins of every human being ever born. "God so loved the World..."

    Unbelievers are walking spiritually dead.

We must be born again. The gift of spiritual life cannot be given until the the spiritually dead Receive the Gift...which is Jesus Christ. We receive this life by pure faith. And then the Holy Spirit comes alongside the receiver of the Gift, to reveal Jesus's life in us.

He lives on the throne of our newborn, spiritually connected hearts. The more of our life we give to Jesus; the more of His life he will reveal to you. In the Book of Revelation it is called, First Love. Revelation 2:4

You're doing very well, Eric. Well done. Sadly though, you won't see them entering the Promised Land till the Book of Joshua as much of the Laws & instructions are to be given to the people & rehearsed before them in the intervening books. These books are also interesting as they give a lot of insight to what was required of God's people & how they should live & worship Him. And if you look closely, you might just see some things there that point to Jesus. Happy reading & hunting. God bless you.

I feel that "to honour those in power" ( Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:17) means that they are to obeyed & respected because of their appointed position & authority. Even when Paul wrote those words in 'Romans', the govt. of the day was one of the most tyrannical, brutal of empires that ruled in that region, yet Paul called for our obedience to them.

Essentially, govts. are formed for the administration of the country's affairs & for the care of its citizens. They are to encompass all types of people with different backgrounds, religions, economic statuses, etc. & to serve them well. Sadly, most govts., even those created under Judeo-Christian bases & ethos, now don't give high regard to the Bible as the Bible can be confronting to these 'other' groups of people. Is this the correct thing to do? A definite, No. Rather than other groups or persuasions conform to biblical standards of living & justice, govts. have weakened & pandered to their demands. We will never see a 'Christian' govt - only when Jesus Christ comes to reign on Earth, will the World see a true & righteous govt. under God.

However, what should our response be? Given that we are to obey the laws, pay our dues, & give govts. due respect, we are not compelled to blindly obey what they might require of us that is clearly against God's Word. So in a sense, we have to pick & choose. In Acts 5:18-29, we see Peter & the apostles imprisoned for healing people - God's angel had opened the prison doors to release them & they went back to preaching - they were subsequently brought before the council & were questioned as to why they continued to preach Jesus; & they responded, "We ought to obey God rather than men." So there are clearly times when disobedience is necessary whenever Christians & the Gospel are restrained in their life & work.

Some countries discriminate & persecute Christians. We can be thankful to our govts. that we still receive water, electricity & education - a few refuse these to Christians.

Just my thoughts, if you look at all the miracles of Israel, that it is even a nation with all the adversities it has had to deal with, is amazing. Israel was desolate for some 2000 years, and just as it became a nation again in 1948 the dead sea scrolls were found, coincidence, somehow I doubt it. So I'm sure God would have taken care of the Ark also and it will be presented in His time. But none the less it is fun to speculate, Have a great day.

I'm sorry, I don't read anymore in that Scripture, but read it as given. Paul often spoke of his life, before salvation & with Christ now, & it seems to me that the point he wanted to get across to his readers, was that the "life that he now lives" was formerly a life that was totally against & offensive to God, in spite of all his pharisaical knowledge & piety.

But now, he "counted all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord" ( Philippians 3:8) as a further emphasis that he, who was once a somebody, became a nobody as far as man was concerned, but now a precious witness to the Grace of God, to be mightily used by God. With all this in mind, his abundant use of personal pronouns here & elsewhere, speak of his vibrant testimony to the Churches & to us of what God can do in a life once given over to religion & self-righteousness.

If I could add, Seeker of Truth, & for your consideration: would a true child of God continue to live a life of rampant sin? You say that "no amount of sin will take you from His hands" & in a sense you're correct as our salvation is sealed & secure, but the question again, can a Christian even sin is such a manner without taking stock of his life & questioning his salvation? I simply can't see that happening - the Spirit of God will not permit it, under any circumstance. He has either been fooling himself to think that salvation is his or he will face the discipline of God, even death, if he continues to shame the Lord with his life & testimony.

Many Christians suffer much because of a disregard to God's Holy requirements upon them & they wonder why 'the devil' is attacking them. If our hearts are clean before the Lord, we may then have reason to wonder, but that enquiry will turn to peace & trust in the Lord as we await His help & recovery from our temporary distress. In the matter of divorce, it can & does happen & the believer is to remain single & serve the Lord in that state. If a believer chooses to remarry, even multiple times in search of the 'ideal', then that can never be in the Plan of God, rather we being in a state of total disregard & opposition to Him & having a carnal desire to please the flesh, seeking earthly happiness. We cannot serve the lusts of our flesh & God at the same time; we would have to cast off all conviction & urging by the Spirit so that our lusts may be consumed upon ourselves - & that goes for all sin, aside from divorce.

Thank you for your reply Dianne. I was thinking that was the verse you were pertaining to. As Isaiah 40:22 and Job 26:10 use the same Hebrew word spoken "chuwg". Interesting it has two different Strongs numbers although the same exact word. Meaning to encircle or circle.

As I really don't want to get into this much as I know my brothers and sisters on here may not agree with me and I do not wish to raise quarrel. Although I will just state this. In Isaiah 22:18 he states "ball". The Hebrew word pronounced "duwr". Meaning ball/circle. Which I would think would pertain more to a sphere shape than "chuwg". Isaiah knew the difference between a circle and a ball and so did the writers of the KJV Bible.

Again, as I could go on I will not because the shape of the earth is not the important thing. Jesus Christ our Lord is. Even though it may help people turn toward God I do not want to make division here between my brothers and sisters in Christ.

    God Bless.

  • Chris - In Reply on Psalms 27:4 - 5 years ago
I agree with you that it couldn't be the temple that David was referring to, as the Temple wasn't built yet - the first one built was by his son, Solomon. At that time, the Tabernacle was the place where God met with His people through the ministry of the High Priest & by the conduct of sacrifices. David could have referred to this 'Tent' as the House of the Lord, but as in so many of his writings, David always looked forward to the Heavenly Temple not made with hands. He might have regarded the time spent in prayer, seeking the Mind of God, or in the Tabernacle surrounds as special, but when He saw the Lord, with the eyes of faith & hope, all he could envision was the Lord in all His Glory, His Beauty & his longing to be with Him.

And for us to, it does us good to be at a Church Fellowship to worship the Lord together, but if we're not there or not having one suitable to go to, can we still find every reason & joy within to lift up our hearts in praise of God & to enjoy His Beauty & envision His Glory? What a day that will be, when our faith & hope we've held onto, become sight for us as we worship at His Temple: right in the Presence of the Lord of Glory.
  • Chris - In Reply on Esther 10 - 5 years ago
That's not a question that can be easily answered as it can only be God's Decision based on all that He is & requires of us, that gives us our destiny in the after-life. All we can do is study & show from the Scriptures what the Mind of God is, & where there is silence or uncertainty, it would be wrong to assume the position of the Deity.

We do know that sin, all sin, is offensive to God & requires our repentance & faith in His Son for forgiveness & restoration into God's ideal. If we don't admit to sin & don't seek God about the matter, then damnation & Hell is before us; if we humbly seek His Face, torn by our sin & seek His forgiveness, we are accepted & given a place in Heaven for eternity.

If someone murders someone it is sin & in the volume of his sins, he will, being unforgiven, suffer an eternity in Hell. If a man chooses to end his life, it is still murder, self-murder, & he is left with no opportunity to rectify that wrong before God. In the natural understanding of the Word, then that sin brings on the same fate as the one who takes the life of another.

But God is the final Judge, Who may well consider the dire circumstances that the person was in to resort to such a difficult decision. Or maybe, the hopelessness of the person's diminishing health & excruciating pain that led this person to do such a thing because of a degraded mental state. We don't know & can't say with any certainty. What we should focus on, is how we can minister to such a person, to help relieve the mental or physical pain, giving comfort & hope that only Jesus can provide. I lost a very dear friend by suicide over 12 years ago. His pain was too much to bear but he refused to accept the ministry from Jesus, preferring to end his life that seemingly would lead to further deterioration & of no value to himself or any other. There is value in every life & always a hope & comfort from the Lord of all comfort. When we look to Him alone, all of Heaven's resources avail for us.

I understand that God's Name, El Shaddai, would reflect this. That Name essentially means, 'The Almighty One' or 'The Overpowerer'. In His greatness, El Shaddai also reflects God as the All-Sufficient One (the God Who is Enough), enough to sustain & provide for every need of His Universe, including mankind & more so, to His children.

One of the main Scriptures on inter-racial marriages is in Deuteronomy chapter 7, where Israel was forbidden to take wives from the heathen nations around them. And this was primarily because Israel was "a holy people unto the Lord" & such a union would guarantee that Israel's heart would be turned from following the true God. A particularly nasty example was seen in King Solomon in 1 Kings 11:1-13, where a once wise King erred greatly in this matter & displayed much foolishness.

Otherwise, the Bible says or infers nothing about inter-racial marriages for Christians, except that we should have such a close union (whether in marriage or business) only with other believers: 1 Corinthians 7:39; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

On the 'flat Earth', I have no further comment than already given in the past, on such a proposition.

    Hello Dianne,

Where does the Bible call the earth a sphere? Thank you.
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 5 years ago
    My brother Robert,

Well at least thank you for replying to me. Although you gave no answer to the one question I asked about the verse. That the the Spirit of Truth shall not speak of himself but what he shall hear. That's ok though. Nobody knows everything.

The reply you gave to brother Adam doesn't answer anything, for me, really. I know of many names that are of God Almighty(Father) that are not of Jesus Christ and vice versa. As you stated there are some they both use.

John 20:17 is good: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Jesus stating "go to my brethren". Is God our Father or Brother? I call God Father just as Jesus Christ did. Since receiving the Holy Spirit of adoption from Him.

Here's one passage in the old testament speaking of a Father and Son. Proverbs 30:4

And one about Gods Servant or Elect One. Isaiah 42:1

Just a couple names referring to the Father and not Jesus Christ: The Most High, Lord of Hosts, Ancient of Days, God of gods, The Vine Grower, Our Father which art in Heaven etc.

Some names referring to Jesus Christ not God the Father: The Son of God, The Anointed One(Christ or Messiah), High Priest, The Bread of Life, Mediator between God and men, The Vine, Lamb of God, Chief corner Stone etc.

And of coarse many names both the Father and Son share. As they are One in each other. Although I do not believe the Son is the Father and the Father is the Son as you do.

Either way I have no problem with how you portray our Lord. I respect you either way. That you are with Jesus Christ our Salvation. That is the important part. I hope you don't think less of me, or us who perceive differently, brother. May our Lord Bless you with peace and good health. Amen.

    Brother Adam,

Here is biblical proof with context

    Isaiah Prophesy

Isaiah 7:14 14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6 6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 44:6 6Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

    Prophesy Fulfilled

Matthew 1:21 Context 20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,

Revelation 22:13 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

John 1:3 Context 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Titles used in the Bible = Word, God, Spirit, Holy Spirit, Redeemer, Almighty Father, I AM, First & Last, Wonderful Counselor, Lord, Alpha and Omega, etc = all these titles belong to JESUS.
