#2. Water baptism - immersion equal to death to sins, rising from water - new birth; #3. God baptized us with the Holy Spirit - we become children of God; #4. Holy Spirit leads us to the perfection tests or sanctification - we go through trials, all sorts of problems - God uses these to test & grow our faith, purge us from our old sinful nature, prideful self-centered desires of the flesh, in order to mold us in the image and likeness of Jesus. This is the same perfection process our Lord Jesus (dual nature as God and man) as a man, not as God, so you and I can emulate.
This is an ongoing process that we go through to keep us holy until the second coming of our Lord Jesus.
I went to a church this summer to ask them about what they actually did with tithes.
God started showing me things right off the bat then I had to wait for someone to call me because they were busy remodeling the building.
And when he did call it was pure evil.
He lashed out at me right off the bat, i tried to stop him twice to pray and he refused. Its all up for interpretation, he said.
Consider yourself truly blessed brother, God has a calling for you, I suggest that you find out - extremely important. What happened to me something different, but similar in some sense. I was successful in my marriage, family, career and financially. But when I retired in 2008 to enjoy it all with my wife, everything went wrong - my wife of 38 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer, went through surgery, chemotherapy, so I became a full time caregiver, neglected my real estate investment and stocks, financial crisis took a toll, lost quite a bit, 09/09/09 lost my wife, a very painful experience. One day I was reading my Bible, God open my eyes - I built my house in the sand, not on the Rock. So I ask God questions on what to do - I said God you gave me the wrong tools (degrees, real estate broker, others) training by men which focus on making $$$ manna, God revealed things via dreams - I can't serve/love God and manna $$$ at the same time. So give me the right tools and train me.
God heard and answered my questions, now God's will "Master Plan" is what I have, @ 78 years old December 2, 2020 I became sick - COVID-19 was in the hospital 6 days, God saved me, it took a month to fully recover, soon 79 on 2/11 - God has blessed me with so much, that I am able to help small business owners solve their COVID-19 problems - and I don't charge for my services, I leave everything to God, get paid as a byproduct of what I do, God freed me from the snares of manna.
Fred, yours is waiting, pursue it brother.
However, I understand that you believe that Jesus is now only in Heaven. The Scriptures you cite can be understood in both ways (Jesus only in Heaven or Father & Son in Heaven). But if we fail to understand the Triune God's Nature then everything subsequent to that will fail or become distorted. I recall that you once wrote an analogy of a man that can be a husband, a father, a president - do you remember that? And you related that to the Godhead as being One (i.e. Jesus). That analogy fails because you're referring to one Man fulfilling three outward functions, but he himself only being one entity.
The Trinity is not all about that; it's about God (& putting it crudely for our understanding), having two other Beings within Him - He is One with two other Beings within Him that emanate from Him to fulfil His Will. So if one Being ('an aspect') of God was missing (whether the Word or the Spirit) He wouldn't be God (at least by how He is revealed to us in Scripture). Just as man would not be a 'normal' man, without a body, soul or spirit.
So when we read "the Father dwelleth in Me" or "I am in the Father & the Father in Me", Jesus is showing that intrinsic composition of the Godhead: the Father, the Word (Jesus) & the Spirit are inseparable & indivisible. If you 'see' God, you must also see Jesus & the Spirit as a part of God. If you 'see' Jesus, then again, the Father & the Spirit must be seen and so too with the Spirit: all Three are part of One & together function as One, fulfilling the Will of One. To think that the Father is only seen in Jesus making the Presence of God no longer in Heaven except for Jesus, is to then throw away so much other Scripture that show otherwise, that God is in Heaven & the risen Jesus beside Him (which we have discussed before).
Hebrew: Transliteration: been
Pronunciation: beh'-ten
Definition: From an unused root probably meaning to be hollow; the {belly} especially the womb; also the bosom or body of anything: - {belly} {body} + as they be {born} + {within} womb.
KJV Usage: belly(30x), womb(31x), body(8x), within(2x), born(1x).
Occurs: 72
In verses: 72. In Deuteronomy Ch 28 God list a bunch of curses that he would put on Israel if they disobedient, A curse on the womb was one. Woman able to bare children was a blessing, and when they couldn't they thought they were cursed, I believe Sarah thought she was cursed, the verse seems to state if she was guilty then she wouldn't be able to conceive seed as Chris said, It shows evidence of pregnancy. Thanks
Question: Why do we have to do - confession of our sins, repent or turn away from sins often? To keep us holy, without sins. Why? Because sins grieve the Holy Spirit in our hearts, which guides, direct us to do what is right and pleasing to God. As Christians we go through trials, problems - God uses this to purge us from our prideful self, selfish human desires, so that God can merge his Holy Spirit with our human spirit - molding us to become in the image and likeness of our Lord Jesus.
God loves us, doesn't want to lose us to Satan, until Jesus come again for the 2nd time - to bring us to heaven - eternal life with Him.
If and when we fail to do this - sins separate us from God, when we die we go to hell and burn forever. This is what Apostle Paul is teaching in his gospel.
Apostle Paul who was a Pharisee, religious fanatic who persecuted Christians, until Jesus blinded him on his way to Damascus, converted him to be a Christian, Apostle to preach to Gentiles - non-Jews like us, his gospel is teaching us on what to do.
1 Corinthians 11:26 Context 23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lor d Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
The 1560 Great Bible was the 1st collection of stories That King James wanted released to the people because before then only clergy were allowed to read to the people from whatever they had.
It is odd with the spelling, no vowels except here and there so 51 years later they did another 1611 King James Bible a d it has vowels and several other books that dont appear in our King James version today.
Not to mention all the softer versions that Bible college graduates boast about.
So plenty of adding and subtractiing going on and the interperations get even more radical. But satan is decieving me?
Then "rapture". Wherd did that come from because there is no word remotely close to it in the Bible but plenty of versions of when it will happen.
Why are we looking for God up there when we are supposed to KNOW he is in our heart because thats what we do to recieve salvation.
Jesus said seek and you will find but churches are guilting everybody for tithes and there are plenty of "places to go worship Jesus" with 3 convenient ways to pay.
And the homeless and widows and orphans are scowled at as people pass by to go to church.
I could go on and on.
That you would take your time to send such a detailed response has brought me to tear's. Knowing that God is hurting because I am hurting makes me want to succeed more. I do feel closer to Him. I will continue my baby steps and keeping in his word. I will never stop reaching for Him because I need Him so badly. Thank you for caring. You have no idea how much it means!
Most of us grieves the Holy Spirit = when we disobey our Lord, the Holy Spirit is burden with sorrow, so it cannot blend or unite with our human spirit. When we: lie, even white lies but don't repent, gossip, spread false doctrine, judge others, unkind or ungodly thoughts, finding faults with others, blaming others for our mistakes, anger and being deceitful, manipulating others to get your ways, self-justification, adultery, fornication, stubbornness, prideful, refuse to speak to family members, homosexuality, others.
1 John 2:15 - 16 15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Here are four specific examples of situations in which the disciples didn't "get it," Holy Spirit not in them.
In John 4:31-34, the disciples encouraged Jesus to eat, and He replied, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." Jesus' closest followers thought their Master was referring to physical food, so He explained to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work."
Matthew and Mark report that Jesus taught His hearers that certain things coming out of an individual defile him or her, not specific, forbidden foods that enter into a person or failing to perform a ritual such as hand washing. The disciples asked for an explanation. Jesus gently rebuked them and explained real problems arose from "evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness." Every one of "these evil things," He said, "come from within and defile a man" ( Mark 7:21-23).
This can happen to us today, if and when we grieve the Holy Spirit.
#2 = New Testament - Isaiah's prophecy fulfilled = virgin birth of Jesus - dual nature - God & man, but mostly living as a man during the 3 years of earthly ministry with 12 disciples - the disciples were men like us today - limited understanding which is why they don't understand Jesus spoken words which comes from the Father directly, this very true today - our limited understanding and wisdom failed to fully understand the written word of God or gospel in the Bible.
#3 = After resurrection, when Jesus ascended into heaven while the disciples were watching, then said I will send the Holy Spirit to indwell in your heart to teach, guide, protect you, do greater things than what you've seen me do. This is why the Apostles did lots of miracles - raising the dead, casting demons, healing the sick, etc.
John's gospel explained this John 14:9 Context 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12Verily, verily, I say
If murder is sin, & I believe you will concur, then it comes down to whether the seed (or, the life) in the womb can be subjected to murder or not. And this of course, is the core of the matter between the pro-life & pro-choice adherents. Govts. walk a fine line: if they are too harsh & strong on one issue, then their tenure is very short at the polls. So they try & appease both sides by setting a last date for the termination of the foetus, hoping that the one side will be convinced & the other side can proceed with removal of the foetus to their relief. So the question is: at which point does life begin?
With that in mind, that murder is sin, I understand Numbers 5:28 to read: "However, if the woman is innocent of the charge by not being affected by the 'potion' given her, then she is no longer to be condemned & her womb will be healthy to conceive." You're thinking in terms of a 'seed' already there to become a foetus, whereas I see that there is no seed, rather an instruction that the woman's womb will be healthy (unlike the guilty woman's) to be able to produce babies. If the word 'miscarry' is seen elsewhere, then of course, it's up to those translators. Looking at the Hebrew for this verse, "and shall conceive seed": 'she shall be free & may conceive children' - she may fructify (to bear fruit) or become pregnant.
The point of this passage is: the state of the womb, not whether she was carrying a seed.
But checking online to see why its divided as such seems peculiar, why doesnt it tell us?
And its easy to blame Satan for everything and take the responsibility off those who added and subtracted to a book that says Israel is chosen by God while the examples of their repetitive failure with God in front of them is never mentioned.
That required no faith, the red sea parting.......
Im not trying to discredit but I am pointing out some valid points.
