Norman, May the Spirit grace you with his understanding.

Angels are spirit messengers of God (Spirit). They perform the will of their God (Spirit). They are neither bad or good. Their messages can either be deceit of truth depending on the results their God (Spirit) desires. God (Spirit) uses both (deceit or truth) to cause the outcome he (Spirit) desires.

1 Kings 19-23 And he said, hear therefore the WORD of the Lord (Spirit): I saw the Lord (Spirit) sitting on his throne, and the host of heaven (spirit messengers) standing by him on his right hand and on his left,

(vs) 20 And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall (be killed) at Ramoth-gilead? And one (spirit messenger) said on this manner, and another (spirit messenger) said on that manner.

(vs) 21 And there came forth a spirit (messenger), and stood before the Lord, and said, I (spirit messenger) will persuade him (Ahab).

(vs) 22 And the Lord said unto him (spirit messenger), Wherewith (how)? And he said, I (spirit messenger) will go forth, and be a LYING spirit in the mouth of ALL his (Ahab's) prophets. And he (Lord) said, thou (spirit messenger) shalt persuade him (Ahab), and PREVAIL also; go forth and do so.

(vs) 23 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a LYING spirit in the mouth of all thy (Ahab's) prophets, and the Lord hast spoken evil concerning thee (Ahab).

Job 12:16 .....the deceived and the deceiver are his (Lords)

Ezekiel 14:7-9 .......and cometh to a prophet (of the people) to inquire of him (prophet of the people) concerning me (Lord); I the Lord will answer him (prophet or the people)by myself:

(vs) 9 And if the prophet (of the people) be deceived when he has spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet.

May the Spirit grace you with his wisdom. ALL IS OF GOD

Not according to Gods word In Jn. 4:24 Jesus Christ said God is spirit ie you cant see taste touch smell or physically hear God He is spirit in Genesis adam and eve had Spirit thats what gave adam and eve connection to God the day they disobeyed Gods command in the Garden they didn't physically die they spiritually lost their connection not good but they still had a physical body and soul life which is breath life ie God breathed into adam the breathof life and he became a living soul so when you take your last breath you lose your soul life and the body goes to dust of the ground.

FYI: Mild Bill has used that same exact word twisting line before on others as if he has an agenda. That logical fallacy was called out before and it doesn't seem to be a genuine question.

Read romans chapter 1 whole chapter than go to genisis and read about sodom and gomorah, you'll get the idea not good and yet you be into that and get saved born again and change by Gods grace amazing.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on Deuteronomy 18 - 5 years ago
The cloven tongues like as a fire is a special work of God at his discretion which means that every time someone gets born again does not mean their going to see cloven tongues but it is available for any believer to speak in tongues which is why the apostle paul said he spoke in tongues more than the entire corinthian church. Another example of phenomenon is moses and the burning bush. Gideon and the dew on the ram moses rod turning into a snake, the prepose being to get attention to help the person believe.

jesus Christ was the ultimate passover lamb of God so they crucified Him about 3:00 palestine time and took him down before sunset between 6:00 and 7:00 palestine time ironically at they had to have him in the tomb so they could celebrate the traditional passover because they would have been defiled to handle a dead body.

Because the word of god said He was before he changed.
  • Rick Mentzer - In Reply on 1 John 4:1 - 5 years ago
I never said free of I said man has freedom of will i.e. when a man is born over time he will make up his mind his will to believe gods word or not. But remember we all started thanks to adam born spiritually dead in trespasses and sin without god and without hope hence the reason for Jesus Christ. A persons will is what he determines what he decides in his life via teaching or experience what is right or wrong.

"From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh" ( Mark 10:6-8, quoting Genesis 2:24).

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." ( Romans 1:26-27)

God is the One who created everything. The devil was the highest ranking angel, directly below God, until he chose to rebel. God created him, and they are not at all equal in power.

It seems strange to me that Jesus would refer to himself as "the Son of Man," since the first man created by God was Adam. I read that in those times, "Son of" meant that person had authority over others. Why not "Father of" instead. Or Son of God. I know that Jesus didn't always like to admit who He was, but I don't get it. Please explain, if possible. Thanks.

  • M - In Reply on Isaiah 45:5 - 5 years ago
I remember reading that the first time and thinking the same thing.

The first thing I'd say is not to use NIV, instead use KJV. Modern translations are less accurate.

God created people, and is therefore responsible for His creations. As an example, if someone chooses to do someone else harm for an unholy reason, that person must reap what they've sown. It's up to God to give that person a perfect punishment(assuming they are unrepenting nonbelievers), and in order to do that God must create a situation in which there's a fitting disaster for them. Only then is "balance" restored, and do people get what they deserve.

Loving doesn't mean God won't uphold morality and justice, but it does mean He is merciful.

Disaster exists because of sin. God doesn't enjoy causing disaster, but it is necessary.

I am a baptized Christian and have been reading the Bible daily 4 over 25 years ,i know what i am and am not supposed 2 do and say and believe and every single day i am ashamed of myself for the things that i do and say and think and feel and all the things that i should have said and done ,in other words every day i sin and every day i am sorry and ashamed of myself 4 my sins .After all this time i think i should b able 2 go 1 whole day without sinning ,i am truely weary of my own sinfull self .I thank my God ,the Holy One of Israel ,and his sinless only begotten son ,Jesus Christ the Righteous for being so long suffering and generous and kind and mercyfull 2 me ,even though they know me and all my horribleness better than i even know my own sinfull self ,i am truely thankful that God is not like us ,he is perfect and pure and beautiful and faithful and mercyful and very kind hearted and understanding ,nothing like me !

In the King James Translation (KJT) of Psalm 90:10, the word "strength" occurs twice.

In the expression, "if by reason of strength ", the word "strength" translates from a Hebrew word which literally means human endurance pertaining to longevity according to age.

In the subsequent expression, "yet is their strength ", the word "strength" translates from an entirely different Hebrew word than that in the previous expression. Now, the word "strength" from the Hebrew literally describes a prideful boast. Yet, this boast seems of a mocking kind, for those of advanced age can only "boast" of their extreme pain and debilities. Their daily living consists of "labor and sorrow" due to their physical body's extreme weaknesses, and even due to their sicknesses and diseases which often exists. Even in the absence of sickness, the bodies of the extremely old will surely give out and die.

Consider Solomon's pessimistic outlook regarding the human body's aging as recorded in Ecclesiastes 12:3-7.

The Hebraic meaning of the word translated "labor" describes the misery involved in performing even the simplest tasks required for living comfortably and of taking care of the human body.

The Hebraic meaning of the word translated "sorrow" describes the lingering effects of guilt and regret attached to former sins of which the aged must live. Note that the same Hebrew word, translated here into "sorrow", also translates into "iniquity", an especially grievous sin of perversity, at least forty-seven times in the KJT, and also into other words such as "wicked" or "wickedness" as well as "vanity" and "unrighteous".

These descriptions seem very pessimistic and even fatalistic in nature, yet redeemed Christians take great comfort in their DIVINE REDEEMER and SAVIOR by living under the principles of verses twelve through fifteen.

Suzanne, May the Spirit grace you with his understanding of his words:

Do Gods creatures have FREE WILL; or, are we the WORKS of the creator?

Ephesians 1:11 In whom (Spirit) also we have obtained (by grace) an inheritance (children), being predestinated (you have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. John 15:16) according to the purpose of him (Spirit) who WORKETH all things after the counsel of HIS OWN WILL:

Philippians 2:13 For it is God (Spirit) which WORKETH in you both to WILL and to DO of his good pleasure.

Colossians 1:29 Whereunto, I (Paul) also labour, striving according to his (Spirit) WORKING, which WORKETH in me mightily.

Isaiah 26:12 Lord, thou (Spirit) wilt ordain peace for us: for thou (Spirit) also hast wrought (WORKED) all our WORKS in us.

Isaiah 44:26 ......that PERFORMETH the counsel of his (Spirit) messengers....

Psalm 57:2 I will cry unto God most high that PERFORMETH all things for me.

Proverbs 16: 33 The lot is cast into the lap (we were predestined); but the whole disposing (WORK) thereof is of the Lord (Spirit)

Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord (Spirit), as the rivers of water: he (Spirit) TURNETH it (man's heart) whithersoever he (Spirit) WILL.

Job 12:9 Who (man) knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord (Spirit) hath wrought (WORKED) this?

Job 23:14 For he (Spirit) PERFORMETH the things that is appointed (predestined) for me....

Job 23:10 But he (Spirit) knoweth the way that I take: when he (Spirit) has tried me, I shall come forth as pure gold.

Hebrews 4:3 For we which believed do enter into rest.....the WORKS (we are the works of the Spirit) were finished before the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us (works of the Spirit) labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of UNBELIEF.

May the Spirit grace you with his wisdom.

Ok ,im not going 2 get into any kind of arguement with u or any one else ,taking verses out of context is always a mistake ,ive done it and im sure most of us have ,Ezekiel is talking 2 the nation of Tyrus ,Isaiah is talking 2 Babylon and its king and in Matthew Jesus is refering 2 people who say they r Christians but cannot even do the most basic acts of Christian kindness .Taking verses out of context is a big mistake ,i learned that the hard way ,its the best way ,u never forget a hard lesson .

You wrote "Angels always obey God ,u say they have free will but i am not convinced ,that would mean they r capable of sin ,i dont believe angels can sin" but the Bible disproves that. You offered no scriptural evidence to support your claim. You are encouraged to read the Bible and a concordance if you need more information.

I sure do not know everything but I do believe that there are good and bad Angles. Not really sure it is just something I kind of caught on to while reading the Bible. We will know all these answers one day and it may not be very long now??

I never said angels were robots or were acting on animal instincts ,dont put words in my mouth . Perhaps you would benefit from a Concordance ,Strongs is the best i think ,then you would b able 2 find out all the different meanings of the word angel and there fore understand the context each instance it is used .

I wish I would get the answers for this question but my email is messed up but I have wondered many times and I know he will but how can Jesus talk to that many people while judging them like billions. I know he will but how? Just think about how many people that is! Everything about Him is amazing! I think we maybe will be in some kind of spirit form? Talking about interesting! God bless each and every one of you!! Amen
