Wow! I concur Chris that was (is) an impressive list and you are right to think along the lines of our salvation or belief in the gospel of Christ being impacted by our belief or revelations we have pertaining to the diety of God I believe there is a scripture that says: "if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto than that we have preached unto to you, let him be accursed." Gal.1:8..something to think about. In Christ Gerald.

What a great list of very relevant Scripture showing the full Deity of our Lord Jesus. I was greatly enriched indeed GRACE_ambassador. I was looking for possibly a reference ( John 20:28) in your list, but may have missed it. We can note how Jesus never rebuked Thomas for exclaiming, "My Lord and my God". Rather, Thomas' faithlessness was addressed & now he believed & rejoiced in seeing his Master & his God. And how blessed are those who haven't been witnesses of those crucifixion wounds on the Lord, & still have faith to believe & call upon Him.

As I went out for my evening walk today, my mind & spirit was deeply impressed with a situation where a believer denies the deity of Christ & the impact that has on his salvation. And then coming to your three page response, I saw your question I had entertained a hour earlier, i.e. "If we Deny HIS Deity, how can HE FORGIVE us our sins?" I'm still working through that because of the gravity of its implications. Doesn't our salvation hinge on the fact that God laid down His Life for us? That the salvation He brought to us was "once for all" ( Hebrews 10:4-12)? Thank you for those great Scriptures giving irrefutable evidence of the Deity of Christ.

Yes David , I'm with you on that . I think that if God speaks to us on an individual level , we will surely be in no doubt about it . When , or rather if , we have read the Old Testament , we can read of the accounts of this happening and also in Revelation . None of these privileged people were left in any doubt .

Hello Dave. In my understanding, Acts 2:38 & Acts 9:18 refers to water baptism & not Spirit baptism ( Ephesians 4:5). Repentance & water baptism went hand-in-hand in those early days, unlike what we generally see today.

Yours was a very fine response, brother Jesse, sharing what happens at death for the believer, as well as the assurance of his eternal security while on Earth - that security that comes from the Holy Spirit sealing & not from anything that we could ever do. Thank you for taking the time in your busy schedule to share these joyful & comforting Truths to us all.

Jesse, No you didn't leave it out I got that part, what I'm asking is if I become faithless or "backslide"(a Biblical term)? Why the parable of the lost coin? or the 10 virgins with oil or (oil that had run out)?
  • Bob - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 14 - 4 years ago
The trinity doctrine is man made , its the bedrock of the Catholic church .

Its not anywhere found in the scriptures . Unless scriptures are twisted to mean something other than the true meaning .

Its extremely confusing and that should reveal its origin , God is not the author of confusion.

The bible plainly says Jesus is the Son of God . If you believed confess that then God dwells in you according to the scriptures . 1 john 4.15 , nothing about the trinity doctrine .

If you believe Jesus is the Christ then you are Born of God ,1 john 5v1 .

Where does it say if you believe in the trinity doctrine you are Born of God ? it does not .

    Gerald,

I left one thing out. It is His guarantee to us, not the other way around. The only thing He requires from us is faithfulness!

    Trisha,

You are very welcome. The only thing I ask is that you take the things I've shared with you and study them out, search the scriptures. Unless the Lord confirms the things I've shared with you, it means nothing. God Bless, and stay strong in Christ Jesus!

    Gerald,

Ephesians 1:14 says, which (or more literally who) is the earnest (or guarantee) of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. There are a lot of words in there, but each phrase is very meaty. It's after we heard, after we believed, we were sealed.

There are different kinds of sealings, even in scripture. A slave was branded. That was called a seal, or sign, or a signant. A fence or a hedge around an area was called sealing off the area. We hear it a lot with the police. They'll seal off an area.

And that's the use here. Let me just share this point with you first. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit. He doesn't give us a seal. He is the seal. He's the mark of ownership and He has sealed me so that no spiritual force or otherwise can penetrate my spirit. I've been sealed. I've been sealed by the Holy Spirit and filled with the Spirit of Christ.

A person who has received Christ has been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise who is the guarantee of our inheritance. It's nice to know that in the midst of our weaknesses that the presence of God's Spirit is our guarantee, until the redemption of the purchased possession.

In this use of the word redemption, it's making reference to the coming of Christ, when redemption is realized. Redemption means purchased. We've been purchased and we're sitting at the will call window. He hasn't picked us up yet. But when Christ comes, He's going to come for the purchased possession. That's you and me!

You might take note of Ephesians 4:30. It tells us that we are sealed with the Spirit of God "until" Christ comes. I'm preserved. I'm being kept for Christ at His coming. That's my guarantee that I am preserved for Him. Paul gives the doxology at the end of the verse. He says, unto the praise of His glory!

    Isaiah 40:30

    569

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.

31 But they that wait for YHWH shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with

wings as eagles: they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

    CHAPTER 41

1 Keep silence before Me, O islands, and let the peoples renew their strength. Let them

draw near, then let them speak; let us come near together to judgment.

2 Who has raised up one from the east, at whose steps victory attends? He gives nations

before him, and makes him rule over kings; his sword makes them as the dust, his bow as

    the driven stubble.

3 He pursues them, and passes on safely; the way with his feet, he treads not.

4 Who has wrought and done it? He that called the generations from the beginning. I

YHWH: who am the first, and with the lastpl am He.

5 The isles saw and feared; the ends of the earth trembled: they drew near, and came.

6 They helped every one his neighbor, and every one said to his brother, Be of good

    courage.

7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smooths with the hammer, him

that smites the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good: and he fastened it with nails, that

    it should not be moved.

8 But you, Yisra'el, My servant--Ya'akov whom I have chosen, the seed of Avraham My

    friend,

9 You whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called you from the

uttermost parts thereof, and said unto you: You are My servant, I have chosen you and

    not cast you away.

10 Fear you not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your Elohim; I strengthen

you: yes, I help you; yes, I uphold you with My victorious right hand.

    11 Behold, all they that were incensed against you, shall be ashamed and confounded;

they that strove with you, shall be as nothing and shall perish.

12 You shall seek them, and shall not find them, even them that contended with you:

they that warred against you shall be as nothing, and as a thing

11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,evento them that believe on his name:13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18For the

Good stuff Jesse thanks. I have a question( that might raise multiple other questions) forgive me. In vs 14 of Eph. it says: "which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession," what exactly does that mean? Could I lose the part(earnest) of my inheritance (spirit, Holy Ghost, communion with God, or whatever anyone calls it) Before ( or until ) redemption? I know it says we are sealed but isn't that His promise? What is OUR guarantee to HIM?

God will never leave us without remedy. He will always give us faithful people ( Eph 4: 11, 12) to show us the way.

Even with the failing of our leadership in the USA, we still have Godly men/women amongst us. May we as people of God call on Him and confess/repent our sins the the Lord may bless the land and heal us of our infirmities. 2 Chronicles 7: 14, 15

God bless and comfort all, especially the lost and the families of the fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. May our leadership humble themselves before God and receive Christ as their Savior. Lord help us to lean on you as we go through the Pandemic, economic failing, social and political unrest. Help us to walk in your righteousness, and holiness. August 26, 2021. Thank you Lord for attending to our prayer.

Hi Bonnie, Yes to your question. Here are some (for there are many) scriptures to look at; Matt. 10:30, John 8:58-59,( the" I am" in John 8 is the same "I am" used in Ex. 3:14 when God spoke to Moses), 1Tim.3:16, John 1:1-14, to mention a few, hope this helped. God Bless.
