I'm not sure what other comment you have received on the verse in question, but I quote one, verbatim, from the Commentator, Joseph Benson:

"1. 1 Samuel 2:9. He will keep the feet of his saints - That is, will both uphold their steps or paths, and direct their counsels and actions, that they may not fall into ruin, nor wander into those fatal errors into which wicked men daily run.

    2. The wicked shall be silent in darkness - They who used to open their mouths wide in speaking against heaven and against the saints, shall be so confounded with the unexpected disappointment of all their hopes, and with God's glorious appearance and operations for his people, that they shall be put to silence, and have their mouths quite stopped: and this in darkness, both internal, in their own minds, not knowing what to do or say; and external, through outward troubles, distress, and calamities.

    3. For by strength shall no man prevail - Namely, against God, or against his saints, as the wicked are ready to think they shall do, because of their great power, wealth, and numbers."

    It's says in 1 John chapter 2 V 23

Who ever denieth the Son , the same hath not the father ; but he that acknowledges the Son hath the father also .

Antichrists deny this v 22 and there are many of them in the last time .

It's really simple Jesus is the Son of God . Or he is something more or less than the Son of God .

If I said that your son is not who he claims to be even after you confirm it to be so . I would be a denier.

There is not even a whiff of a trinity here so that doctrine is irrelevant.

I'm trying so hard to read and understand the word of God. Thanks for your comments and thoughts on these verses and chapters. I until tonight thought I was saved, a Christian, now either the devil is riding me so hard or I'm mixed up but I was telling my sister earlier this evening I'm not sure anymore. I've prayed to Jesus this evening, because I am the pianist at my church, I sing there and I've asked God to please not let me be going inside church being a hypocrite. I would just die before I would intentionally do this to the Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray God will hear me and give me an answer. I want Him in my life above all things even though sometimes it doesn't seem that way. Thank you God Bless you and really pray for me.

We are one in Christ. Judgement is for those that reject our Jesus. Righteousness shall be accounted to those that cry ABBA father. to those that are converted. Glory to God in the highest. There is no God Like Jehovah

"To think of oneself more highly" speaks of a person who believes he has the gifts & qualities that exceed those seen in others. Narcissism is an extreme form of self-aggrandizement or self-elevation & is diametrically opposed to what was in Jesus Christ & what the Holy Spirit produces in a child of God.
  • Bob - In Reply on 1 Kings 18 - 5 years ago
I believe Mary being Jesus mother and she was Holy at the time of the union with the Holy Spirit or It never would have taken place . So Jesus was a perfect union of God and flesh .

With God all things are possible . Who really understands it ? God . But we know Jesus is flesh and of God . Not one or the other but both .

    Dear Victoria

Read Acts chapter 10 tells how Peter went to Cornelius, you can go right to verse 45 and the Jews were astonished that the gentiles received the Holy Spirit. Never doubt Jesus love for all who call on him.

    Respectfully

You might want to consider that the majority of the vision has been completed during the time of the people to whom it was written ie. the seven churches of Asia.

I fully agree that this war has been going on for millenniums and that the animosity comes from the division between Esau and Jacob. However, I beg to differ in the case of Ishmael. Hagar was not a Palestinian. She was an Egyptian, probably acquired during Abraham and Sarahs' journey into that country previously. Also if you will check history, there was no such place as 'Palestine' at that time in history. Current day 'Palestine' was a part of Canaan and did not exist until modern day. Oh, Rome, after destroying the Holy City, named the area Capitolinia Phalistinia after the Philistine enemies of the Israelites. Ishmael had twelve sons who became Princes/Sheiks/Priests in what now is known as Persia/Iran. The present population of this area does not claim to be Arab. However, they are Muslim in religion. Thus enemies of modern Israel/Jewry.

the entity in the midst of the candlesticks is a metaphorical rendering of the glory, power and magnificence of Christ.
  • Dahg - In Reply on Revelation 1:14 - 5 years ago
This is a vision showing the Power and Glory of Christ metaphorically. Remember, this is the 'revealing' of Jesus Christ to the churches of Asia.
  • Dahg - In Reply on Revelation 1 - 5 years ago
It is my understanding that John was being told to write down the vision and send it to the churches that existed at that time as a "Revelation" of Jesus Christ. A revealing of him just as he had revealed his Father while he was among them.
  • VICTORIA FONSECA - In Reply on Acts 2:38 - 5 years ago
In Acts 2:38 was that for the Jews only or for both Jews and Gentiles? and if for both can I get scripture to back it up, I believe it was for all both Jews and Gentiles, but someone told me that we have to separate Israel and the church
  • Dahg - In Reply on Revelation 1 - 5 years ago
what are you asking about - is this real?

If you are referring to the 7 churches; yes they were real assemblies of people during the time of what is referred to as the "Early Church"
  • Chris - In Reply on 1 Kings 18 - 5 years ago
That's correct if Mary's 'contribution' to the birth of Jesus was simply to provide the means for a human baby to form & be ushered into the World. If we think that anything from Mary (i.e. her ovum) was contributed to develop the babe, then I believe that would be false. Why? Then Jesus would have been born with a sin nature as we are & we know that He never had one. Even under temptation ( Matthew 4:1-11), it was Satan's desire to cause Jesus to sin thereby causing the sin nature to be imputed, & that Jesus would become like us, sinners. When we're tempted to sin, we give in easily because Satan's appeal is already to a fertile ground of sin - but this was not the case with Jesus. The Divine Seed became human only because of the human 'mechanism' employed to bring him into the World. Or else, God could have just made Jesus as He did with Adam & Eve - but that wouldn't work as the prophecies of Jesus' coming still need to be performed.

You could be right Donna. There is a lot of money to be made by these drug companies producing the vaccines, especially when I believe that sufficient testing time has not been given. However, governments are in a quandary: they're responsible for the health & welfare of the people, they want to still allow them to have freedom to move about, but in so doing, this virus cannot be properly contained when people mix closely together. Quite a dilemma & no easy solution for it. I suppose they could have taken the easy, but unwise route, & let everyone live their lives normally, leaving it up to the people to take their own precautions. Many, many more would succumb to the virus & die & then the govt. will get blamed for doing nothing about it. In some countries, govt. rulings are very strict, where liberties are curtailed, but the virus spread is better contained, yet liberties are curtailed. So, what is the correct decision?

So I don't see it as a 'fear induced' rhetoric by the govt. to take the vaccine, but one of necessity. The only problem is: how effective will the vaccine be & what are the effects of it going to be, given the limited testing & fast roll-out. As Christians, in this matter, as with all things that come before us, we remain safe & confident in the Lord's knowledge & help to us. There is nothing that can touch & harm us His children without His Knowledge & permission. He expects us to use the common sense He gives us, follow the proper rulings set before us, & express full trust in Him for our lives & outcomes. Even in your vulnerable position with health issues, the same Lord is "rich towards all" - He will keep you as you trust Him for the future - stay vigilant - be prayerful.

I feel like we are being led by fear to take these vaccines! If you don't receive one, you won't be able to get on an airplane, no mask, no church, no funeral attendance. How far will we go before we understand that we are being led like sheep to slaughter. I am elderly, I have MS, so if anyone should be afraid it is me, but I don't believe the masks are helping, but do your own research! The so called ones that are in charge of these vaccines are in it for the money! Trying to be the first in line. It doesn't matter that they have not done enough tests before pushing it on people. How about animal testing first. This is coming too fast for me! FEAR is pushing people to not investigate this!!
