The fact that he at one time encouraged you towards the Lord is remarkable given his present state. And this shows that he has some serious issues within. Do you attend Church? Or are you able to get some Christian help to find a Christian counsellor or Pastor who can sit with you both & try to guide you from under this dark cloud? Your husband may not agree with you doing this, as pride can take over & make one resistant, but for the sake of your well-being & marriage, you really need to pursue some external help along with looking to the Lord.
But don't push him into doing something - he may turn the other way altogether. Be the wife of understanding, compassion & help to him - let him see you loving him in spite of himself & you trying to get him well again. Can you get out of the house & enjoy even a simple walk in the park, a movie, a meal, sharing things that can encourage both of you, rather than bringing on sadness or anger? If he has become reclusive, then small steps might be needed to get him 'going' again. If Bible reading is too heavy for him now, maybe a light devotional book that shares a word of encouragement & guidance might be useful. He needs to have a fresh view of God, of His Love for you both, & that the life & marriage God has given you, can be made fresh & enjoyable. My thoughts & prayers are with you both as you seek God's guidance for yourselves.
So wealth is not the problem, unless of course one is distracted by it or uses what God has given, unwisely. But the point of Jesus' remark was that He detected that this young man's heart was not right. He might have "kept all the commandments" as he said, but in fact Jesus noticed that he broke the very first commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me". This man went away sad, as it wasn't just his wealth that held him back, but his love, trust & dependence that he placed on it, that relegated God into second place. And indeed, it doesn't have to be money that can cause us to put our God & Saviour into second spot. 1 John 5:21.
From the time of Israel's exodus out of Egypt, they learned which day was the actual Sabbath: Exodus 16:25-27, when they found no manna on the ground on that day. Ever since then, the count was on: 6 days work - 1 day rest, right up to the time of Jesus when He observed the same Sabbath, indeed He did 'work' in it, saying that the Sabbath was created for man & not the other way around.
So the Sabbath was a specific day of rest for the Jews. And it could fall on that day as well, or any other day, for non-Jews. The important point was that man took the day off to cease from his labours for both physical & spiritual recuperation. Where this observance becomes a problem for Christians, is the compulsion by some that we too are bound to a Jewish Saturday Sabbath, & by extension, full obedience to the Law, which none could keep. This Law was not a sign to Christians but to the Jew who was under the Law. Hear what Paul says pertaining to the Law & the Christian: Romans 3:19-22; Galatians 3:21-25; Galatians 4:21-26; Galatians 5:16-18.
If the Christian then sets aside Sunday, the Lord's Day ( Revelation 1:10) as a day of rest & worship, he fulfils the need for both. If he chooses any other day as a rest day, does it matter to the Lord? Colossians 2:16,17. If one believes that the keeping of the Sabbath does matter to the Lord, then he shows a misunderstanding of the Law engraven in stones & the Law of the Life-giving Spirit ( Romans 8:2).
Do you believe Jesus is Gods Son come in the flesh ? Yes or no ?
Add to or subtract To Jesus and it's a no .
My problem is that I came across the Hebrews 10:26-31 and had thoughts that christ blood is unclean. So now I have thoughts that i regarded Christ's blood unclean and it will not be forgiven me. I am concerned what if I did that. I want Jesus in my life and don't want to be outside of God's grace. So i worry if I regarded such a thing. Do you have a advice, what do you think about it?
Spare me your delusions please .
So in one sense the destruction of Damascus was completed, but we know that Damascus was later rebuilt & became quite an influential city in New Testament times, becoming a flourishing major cultural centre with numerous synagogues and a large Jewish community. So there is no more destruction foretold of the city in the Bible, but one could expect that it would figure in the last days as the Anti-Christ sets up his throne in Jerusalem & that whole region will be subservient to him or else face his wrath. Though certainly that region, along with Damascus will suffer under God's Anger in the days of the Great Tribulation. In that case, the prophecy against Damascus is yet to see its ultimate fulfilment.
I have just woken up, and read Those precious inspirational verses and I thank God and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ. I am inspired by your diligence and commitment to the verse of the day. Let me begin with stating I am a welder by trade non the less I read God's word and study as best as I can.i pray for God's Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth.my question is this when the Heavens and the earth were created in 6 days God created the Heavens and the earth and on the 7 the day God rested from His work
..can you even try to imagine or fathom how God did creat the Heavens and the earth and specifically put aside one day ."The 7 th day Sabbath try to imagine the awesome event and the Adam and Eve were created and they were commanded to do the same to rest on the Sabbath day.now I cannot even try to explain the importance of the 7th day Sabbath .A simple analogy ,when a person is born can he change his birthdate to another day and if so why would he do so in the first place ? Fact is it can't be done and has never been done. So the same with creation .so why would God authorise the ,7th day to be substituted with the first day of the week as the IST day Sabbath the day of rest.there a verse in the Bible God says not one dot or tittle shall be changed in the Bible. Could you please give me your view point on the Sabbath. ,and may I ask further questions regarding the 7 the day Sabbath.
Kind Regards
