    No, bowel movement is not mentioned nor implied in the Bible, but we do often see an archaic use of this word 'bowel' in both the Old & New Testaments. I wonder whether this is what you're referring to. If so, then the general understanding of this word is 'one's innermost being, or from the heart, & in some cases refers to the womb & other applications'.

    You can check these Scriptures: Genesis 25:23 (the womb); Genesis 43:30 (the heart's yearnings); 2 Samuel 20:10 (the inner bodily parts, such as intestines, stomach, etc.); Philippians 2:1 (love & compassion); etc. So, it is word that has several meanings & applications, but one we wouldn't use now, rather using a word more specific to our intention.

    Paul was called by God from his mother's womb ( Galatians 1:15), but Paul was apprehended by God for God's exclusive service on the road to Damascus. From that moment onwards, Paul was aware that his life was not his own; he'd been bought with a price, the precious BLOOD of the Lamb.

    "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition", 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

    The answer might sound somewhat glib, but it is all to do with Satan, the enemy of our souls & hater of God & all goodness. The Apostle Paul's reference to it specifically refers to a noticeable period of time where, from within the Church, there will be those (maybe, many) who either turn their backs to Christ & His Gospel of Salvation or introduce false teaching that dilutes the truth & power of God's Word.

    Such apostasy from the teachings of Christ was evident from the early Church as Satan intruded into her midst, with those coming in having special wisdom, but actually were proponents of heresy, lies & deceit, bringing many into spiritual disrepair. Satan's tool was (& is) to give the Christian a sense of his own worth, his own knowledge & wisdom, his own power to control, that ultimately removes the believers' understanding of his position in Christ & utter dependency upon Him. Generally, such 'new' thoughts are commonly referred to as 'Gnostiscm' with its branch, 'Docetism', which has played havoc with the Church then as it does now. This is a huge subject, which you might be better served to study online, which essentially denies or dilutes everything that Christ & the apostles have taught, placing man on a higher plane than should be afforded him.

    The Apostle John dealt with this in his First Epistle & so this letter becomes particularly meaningful to the reader, if one understands the devilish teaching of the Gnostics. And of course, we have the many 'Christian' religious offshoots, cults, sects, etc. that also introduce teaching foreign to the proper understanding of God's Word, bending it to suit their belief system.

    Before that day of Christ's Return, we are warned to be aware of this increasing corruption in the Church & revelation of the Anti-Christ.
  • Christians Becoming Fully Equipped-1 on Exodus 20 - 4 years ago
    Growing up is a process. No one is born fully grown. Everyone comes into the world as an infant and progresses through different developmental stages until he reaches adulthood. The same is true when you become born again. It doesn't matter how old you are physically. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are a spiritual babe in Christ, and you must learn to grow in the things of God.

    In the Book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul talks about the spiritual growth of Christians.

    EPHESIANS 4:11-15

    11 And he[Jesus]gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

    12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

    13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

    14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

    15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

    Did you notice in verse 15, Paul tells the Christians in Ephesus to ". . grow up into him in all things . . ."? Evidently, Paul didn't think that the Church at Ephesus had grown up yet. He also said in verse 13, "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, UNTO A PERFECT MAN . . . ."

    In The Amplified Bible, this phrase is translated, "that we might arrive at really mature manhood." In these verses, Paul is encouraging us to reach spiritual maturity. He is encouraging us to grow up spiritually.

    Throughout the New Testament, we see a striking similarity between spiritual and physical development. In fact, there are three stages of spiritual development that correspond to physical development. They are: babyhood, childhood, and manhood.

    Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord ( Psalm 15:6). It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. Jesus said there is none good, but God. Let us praise God with all our soul, energy and strength. When we read the Bible and meditate on spiritual things it brings joy and happiness. All during the day, take time to praise and worship God in the name of Jesus. Know that the Lord takes pleasure in his people ( Psalm 149:4). God created all things to praise Him: angels, sun, moon, stars, heavens, fire, hail, snow, vapour, stormy wind, fulfilling his word, mountains, hills, fruitful trees, beasts, cattle, creeping things, flying fowl: kings, all people, princes, judges, young men and maidens, old men, women and children ( Psalm 148:1-12). The Lord's name is excellent. There is no one like our holy and sovereign God. When I think about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, I feel good, good, good. All during the day, praise the Lord. The best "medicine" comes directly from Jesus as a gift of his mercy, grace, with covered by his love. When you're feeling good -- Praise the Lord. In times of weakness -- Praise the Lord. He is worthy of all praise. Praise lifts our very soul and takes us to heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Absorb the goodness of the Lord in your spirit. God is with us when we love and praise Him. Each day with Christ is a heavenly experience. Talk about God all day and reap spiritual bebefits.

    James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

    Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

    Proverbs 8:11-12 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

    Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

    Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

    Luke 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

    Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out

    Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding.

    Proverbs 17:27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

    Ecclesiastes 7:1-29 A good name is better than precious ointment;

    1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

    Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

    Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

    Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given

    The word Spirit, is often misunderstood. Anything that is alive is made of Physical matter.

    If there is no physical matter, it does not exist.

    Humans can only see 10% of whats around them. All of Gods Holy family,including him are 100% physical.

    They are not made of iron ore Earth as a human. Iron ore flesh can only see iron ore matter.

    Couple things of many,to remember, it says "you may have entertained a angel".or when God appeared in physical form with Abraham,or when Moses saw his back.when God says 'I will do this with my mighty arm',he isn't kiddin

    God is 'Omnipotent'.That means there isn't Anything he cant do.

    including iron ore form of His Son

    Perception, is not faith. Perception is a physical waiting for something to happen. Faith is an actual occurrence, a spiritual occurrence. That which is flesh is flesh, that which is of spirit is spirit. We who have a lively hope live not according to the world, but according to the spirit of Christ who lives in us! Perception is one of those sins that a child of God wars against .Satan would like nothing more then for you to believe that your situation is based on your works (perception) of things. You must give yourself totally to the savior. COMPLETELY! Faith in the risen savior! Perception is of the world! When you except Christ ,you are no longer of the world!

    Speaking of Mary bearing the Son of God who will save by salvation
  • Mild Bill on Colossians 3 - 4 years ago
    Virginia, Saying conveys meaning, and understanding starts in seeing the context the verse is in. That is, read both before and after the verse for context, meaning how it ought to be understood. Mary is the "she" spoken of. Both before and after verse 21 we learn that she is Joseph's wife and a virgin, yet, she is pregnant. The son she is bearing is of the Holy Ghost and a fulfilment of prophecy. The son has a purpose as a savior. The meaning of his name and his life is to accomplish the salvation of God's people.

    Study is to gather information and understanding comes when you desire the meaning. When it comes to the Bible, pray/ask God for his help, after all, he is the author and quite capable of revealing what you need to know. I hope this helps you learn for yourself, as God indeed, wants you to.

    Charity is Love & Love is Charity, that's why it's the greatest-God is Love & showed it through His Son, Jesus. Charity & Love is to share Christ with those who do not know Him. You can love without sharing, but you can't share without loving. Charity & Love-the Greatest!

    Deuteronomy 15:19-23, speaks of the animals to be offered in sacrifice to God. The animal had to be the 'firstling' of the flock/herd, they were not to be put to work & after the sacrifice, they were to be eaten before the Lord. However, if that animal had any blemish or impediment, then it could not be sacrificed as only a pure offering was acceptable. This of course, speaks to us that Jesus was God's pure offering for the sins of the world & not at all like man's provision of an offering which showed contrition for his sins.

    So any blemished animal should not be offered in sacrifice, but (in verse 22), it could still be eaten by both the clean & unclean person in their homes (this signifies whether a person was afflicted with disease or discharge, or for a woman after giving birth, etc.). All people could eat of a blemished animal, even of those that couldn't be sacrificed, like the roebuck or deer which are unclean animals. However, the blood of the animals couldn't be consumed, as some pagans were want to do with their food.

    The Book of Leviticus gives an extensive dealing with this subject of sacrifice, the different animals that can or cannot be used & the condition of the priests & people who can participate in it.
