There was rain before the flood. How do you think plants and humans lived. Just no rain like the great rain in Noahs days. 40 days and 40 nights of heavy rain.

No, kissing is not a sin. Today in France when two friends meet, men or women, they greet each other with a kiss on the cheek.

If there was a world wide flood before or after Noah the bible or history didn't record it. But to prove there was a world wide flood, you can come to my place in the Alabama mountains around me and I'll take you up on the mountain near me and we can dig for sea shells and find them. And I live over 200 miles from the Gulf. You probably can do the same in the hills near you, where ever you live. Noahs flood is true.
  • Bed of Nails - In Reply on Ecclesiasticus 10 - 4 years ago
This is a portion of Bensons Commentary. Google that scripture and then type Commentary after it. The phrase bed of nails is not in the KJB. I could only find a mention in Ezekiel of "nails".

Read this snippet of the whole commentary:

Luke 23:34, he calmly, though fervently prayed for them, and for all who had any hand in his death, beseeching God to forgive them, and excusing them by the only circumstance that could alleviate their guilt - their ignorance. Saying, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. This was infinite meekness and goodness, truly worthy of God's only-begotten Son; an example of forgiveness which, though it never can be equalled by any, is fit to be imitated by all. Dr. Heylin (Theolog. Lect, p. 103) has well described our Lord's passion, as follows: "The appointed soldiers dig the hole in which the cross was to be erected. The nails and the hammer are ready. The cross is placed on the ground, and Jesus lies down UPON THE GROUND ON A BED of sorrows. They NAIL him to it. They erect it. His nerves crack. His blood distils. He hangs upon his wounds," naked, "a spectacle to heaven and earth." Thus was the only-begotten Son of God, who came down to save the world, crucified by his own creatures!

Both the tribe of Dan & the tribe pertaining to Ephraim (son of Joseph) are missing from the list in Revelation 7:4-8. There is no certainty why these names are missing, with the tribes of Joseph & Manasseh being reflected instead. The general reason given is that according to Judges 18:30-31, Dan went into idol worship, as also Ephraim, & they had failed to repent & return to the worship of the true God. Even though they would have continued to survive (i.e. not being wiped out), their idolatrous practises caused God to isolate & remove them entirely.

    Wesley's Notes for Isaiah 54:17

54:17 Condemn - And I will deliver thee not only from the fury of war, but also from the strife of tongues. This blessed condition, is the portion allotted them by me.

Righteousness - The reward of their righteousness. Of me - I give it, and I will continue it to them.

No. That's not a Covenant of Marriage.

    That is fornication.
  • Accusation of Incest - In Reply on Genesis 20:1 - 4 years ago
    "KETURAH"

    Scripture References- Genesis 25:1-6; 1 Chronicles 1:32, 33

    Name Meaning-Incense

After the death of his beloved Sarah, Abraham took as his third wife, if we count Hagar as a wife, Keturah, a young woman.

When Sarah died, and Isaac his son married, doubtless Abraham now an old man was very lonely and remarried for the sake of companionship. Keturah is called a concubine ( 1 Chronicles 1:32). Her name is like Kezia, a perfume name. She became the mother of Abraham's six sons: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah who became the progenitors of six Arabian tribes of Southern and Eastern Palestine. Ancient Israelites regarded the Arabs as distant relatives. It was through Keturah's offspring that Abraham became "the father of many nations." The patriarch in his declining years was surrounded by a woman's care and love, and a circle of dear children. Kuyper, writing of the relationships between Abraham and Keturah, says that we cannot think of it as being romantic. It was a marriage in which a less passionately vehement love attains high ethical qualities.

    Comment by Mishael:

Some say that Abraham went and brought Ishmaels mother, Hagar, back into the family tent. They did NOT have any other children. Ishmael was Hagars only child.

That can't be right because he married Keyturah, had 6 children with her. They are listed in Abrahams Geneology.

So, your accusation of incest is not truth.

    Always read the genealogies!
  • Adam - In Reply on Psalms 2:9 - 4 years ago
No, she isn't. She's not your wife according to the law, nor by any other measure, either. Sleeping with someone other than your wife is either fornication or adultery, which is punishable by death. Thanks for Jesus for giving us a way to still be saved.

The Holy Ghost spoke the words "still waters" while in prayer. I know that God wants me to rest in Him, he has a great plan for my life. First, I must taste of His goodness and know that He is God!

  • Chris - In Reply on Job 36 - 4 years ago
No, Elihu (from the Book of Job) wasn't a priest. He wasn't part of the group of Job's three 'friends', maybe just an onlooker/observer, but there is no indication that he came from a priestly line.

He remained quiet for the most part while the others threw false accusations against Job, but in Job 32:2, he could not restrain himself & then spoke up. Even though his words seems equally accusatory against Job, when they are studied properly, we find that he was more accurate in his judgements.

Isaiah 54:15, "Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake."

Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."

In both these Scriptures, God's Promise to Israel (& by extension, to the Church), tell us similar Truths. The enemies of Israel & the Church (those that come against God's people), might surely gather against us & even attack us, but if we remain true & faithful to the Lord, He will keep us & protect us. Of course, we know that many of God's people have suffered & died by the hands of wicked men, but even though God had not sent them to come against us, He has allowed it & that so to fulfil His purposes. Ultimately, God's enemies will fall - their plans & strategies will fail. They will one day stand before the God Who judges righteously & His people will be the victors as we attain that final peace & rest in His Presence.

I need prayer, I feel like there is no hope for me sometimes because I've been in repenting and giving into sin over and over again. I think I have a reprobate mind or I am in reprobate and I'm confused if there still hope for me or not. I believe there is still hope for people that are reprobates or have harden hearts but I don't know how to get out of that state. I wanna get baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus only not in titles because father son holyspirit was made by the roman catholic church in the 2nd century and was never in the Bible. But first I need to Believe, then repent in the name of the Lord Jesus for my sins, and THEN get baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Because if you don't repent first and then get baptized your just getting wet with water. So I'm just really struggling if I'm saved or not meaning it when I repent. And I'm just lost and confused. Found a church that a maybe could fellowship and that could baptize me in the name of the Lord Jesus. Keep in mind I don't play church. But anyway I don't think I'm saved to then get baptized yet. Like I said I'm lost. I don't want to be a reprobate or if I'm already one I don't want to be one. There are many distractions that are distracting me from doing Gods will. I need prayer. I'm gonna work out my own salvation with fear and trembling. I didn't have any other request than this.

A couple of comments to clarify some of the Saints mentioned in this chapter 12 v.2 The James here is James the brother of John, other places called Sons of Thunder, and Mary a few verse later is the mother of John Mark, aka Mary Mark not the mother of our Lord and Savior. In other places John Mark is the nephew of Barnabas.

This may be my imagination, in many ways Mr. Trump, is fulfilling the scriptura in many different ways, by what he suffers under those who hate him in the world and the u.s; Should this be a concern, if so why. What is happening is a resemblance of the unrest during time time of Christ! Many were being persecuted for their faith, while injustice was running rampant , not unlike today. Is God bundling up the tares , getting ready to harvest the wheat? Is all of what I see a deception from Satan? How do we keep the beam out of our own eye, while hoping God will remove the mote from others? We are living in a tumultuous time. We should not judge things before their time. It is very important that as Christians we witness the truth to others even strangers! this will spread as wild fire ,and the truth will hopefully grow! The gospel will continue. If it is suppressed, it will only be a while before He returns. Look up .your redemption draws nigh!
