  • Raising Leaders - In Reply on Deuteronomy 22 - 5 years ago
Our work is unto the Lord. He is Top Boss. He knows if we're obedient or slothful; give a fair days work, for a fair days wage. Promotions come when we do our work quietly without becoming involved in work politics, gossip or backbiting.

If your work boss provides a standard of dress for employees, we obey that requirement. Especially if uniforms are provided. For most people our dress should be modest and represent Christ.

Worldly people routinely dress to find dates or hook ups. Avoid that. We dress for Jesus.

I know what Paul taught and it was good for that time, and for this time we are living in. Just be led by the Holy Spirit and there will be no confusion.

I'm often saddened by the parents that end up on Dr Phil with their teen children who dress like male/female prostitutes. An entire hour is spent on how do I regain status as the parent?

I'm a parent and a Christian. You do not ever budge an inch on what the "World" demands we do: versus what God says about modesty and basic intellect. YOU CONTROL THE MONEY. If you lose control, you will lose the child to the worldly world. You sow the seeds of rebellion and co-dependence. You want to be "loved" by your kids: they need your money to look like their worldly, popular, friends.

They are trying to belong to their peer groups. Not Jesus.

I taught my son frequently that it takes a lot more courage to be a LEADER, than it does to become an aimless FOLLOWER. I didn't nag or drill his head. I challenged him. I rewarded him with praise for right choices and living.

This is our reward for launching a child of God into the world. They meet less obstacles than the kids who never learned how to live leadership skills. Leaders learn from other leaders. It's not hard to do. The Bible teaches it.

If the church and the parents fail to teach it: how else are they going to learn it?

Also let them pay your monthly bills for you; balance checkbook; see real life finances 101.

All we are told in Revelation chapter 19, is that a voice spoke from the (midst) of God's Throne (verse 5). This was not God's Voice nor His Son's, but apparently an angel assigned in regards to the Holiness of God. Elsewhere, as in the Ark of the Covenant, two images of Cherubs were positioned on either side of the Ark. So, it could be assumed that a Cherub or angel from God's Throne spoke to John. Also, we see in Revelation 22:8,9, a similar event, where John began to fall down before the "angel" but was forbidden to do so.

As to Revelation 19:16, there can be no certainty as to where & why this inscription was placed there. A reasonable explanation could be that as the Lord Jesus, the Lord of Glory is seen coming as a horseman, outfitted for battle, his outer clothing (vesture) may have been an extended, fairly heavy tunic that was normally worn. This vesture had His Name inscribed on it & it was written on the tunic at about thigh level. It was common for notable persons (kings, warriors, etc.) from olden days to have their titles inscribed on their clothing & this might be seen of the coming Warrior King in the skies. But all this is only a supposition.

My daughter, my wife and I live in Dubai. Due to job loss, stress and diabetes, we lost it all and are struggling. I was admitted in hospital and my daughter's education was stopped. now we live in a shared accomodation. we have been shunned off by our relatives and even our friends. Since we have not made any back up plan back home we dont want to go back to India instead want to live here and I want my daughter's education to continue here and we must bounce back to living normal life with good earning. This is not possible through my strength. But I believe all things are possible through Jesus Christ our saviour.

My kind request for a prayer to put my life back on track and live with dignity here in Dubai.

I have 2 sons Brett,42 and Bryce,24, were saved at a young age ,grew up in our Christian home but haven't shown to be interested at all in living a true Christian life for many years.

We bring it up to them when it comes up but they don't seem to be concerned.

They don't attend church. They have families and they don't know anything about Jesus.

I pray for them every day and would ask prayers for them to know God for sure.

I don't want them to go to hell.

I believe that once saved, always saved.

But that only works if you're truly born again.

Again I am asking for them to know the Lord" for sure ".

    Thanks and God bless.

    1Jn.4:1-6

1Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God,

3and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus*does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world.

4You belong to God, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

5They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them.

6We belong to God, and anyone who knows God listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.

I am suffering but didn't Jesus Christ, as precious Emmanuelle, suffer also? I am undergoing tribulations, but doesn't this mean those eyes of unquenchable fire are upon me? I die daily to my flesh while Jesus gave up the ghost upon the cross, Heavenly Father's only begotten literally died but then was resurrected! I will honor this love, I will respect this power and even offer up my undeserved life to that which is greater than any indeed.

A women should not wear what pertains to a man so certain jobs give you uniforms such as police woman, housekeeping, nurses, jail mates, and construction workers all wear pants. But when they go to church they wear dresses is this still abomination?

    Interesting view point,

I have never read in the bible where Angels can manifest in human form. Nor have I read that they could materialize. Angels are in spirit form and can appear as a human but not materialize, therefore do not have the ability to have sexual relations with humans.

Why does most still believe that the sons of God mentioned in 6:4 are angels and the offspring are Nephilim. And that the renowned are the Nephilim?

Can people view the scripture as the Nephilim are just present during the time the male humans(sons of God) and female humans(daughters of man) had intercource.

Their offspring are human, and the renowned men of old are in reference to famous people mentioned prior to Gen.6:4.: the sons of God?

I have not viewed any other theories that suggests this.

    Good luck in your search.

    Blessed are the peace keepers.

If these things happen sequentially as written, I suppose the righteous will suffer much during the tribulation before they are raptured out. There was a question as to whether the saints would suffer during the tribulation or not.

From what you have written, you are still married to your wife, in spite of her infidelity. She would need to acknowledge her sin of unfaithfulness to you, repent, be restored back to God & of course, be restored back to you, if you wish to receive her back.

However, if you mean that you both have divorced & she has gone to another man & has subsequently left him, then you cannot re-marry her. There is no New Testament instruction on this matter (that I can remember), but certainly an Old Testament directive by God concerning a man finding uncleanness in his new wife (i.e. she was found to be impure/not a virgin), & he divorced her for that reason. Subsequently, after her second husband dies or divorces her, her first husband is warned that it would be a great sin to receive her back into marriage with him. ( Deuteronomy 24:1-5).

Both parties in this instance, would do well to continue to remain single, bring all their matters, hurts & needs before the Lord, & then press on in the pathway of devotion and service to the Lord. Even though such marital problems can bring on much hurt & distress, the ministry of God's Spirit is very real to bring about healing, forgiveness & full mental & spiritual restoration. Many people often bypass God's requirements, treating the sanctity of marriage with disdain, and sadly do so to their greater hurt.

This has always been an intriguing portion of Scripture, as the Apostle does not give a lot of information for us to formulate a proper understanding. So in that respect, your pastors are correct, by giving you their different perceptions.

So my thoughts are: did the Apostle have an OT Scripture in mind when he penned these words. I refer you to Deuteronomy 21:22, "And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree...". My sense of this 1 John portion, is that John's focus is on PRAYER, rather than the sin. He begins this subject from 5:14, giving us confidence that God will hear & answer our prayers if we don't ask amiss but according to His Will.

Then John goes on to give an example (v16) of a brother committing sin which does not lead to death. If the Deuteronomy passage is referred to, then we see a sin (crime) against both God's Laws & the Law of the Land. The Deuteronomy account shows a rebellious, gluttonous & drunkard son, who for his crime, was taken to the Elders & was subsequently put to death. And that 'sin' was worthy of the death sentence under God's Laws, & to John's readers, who were under Roman Law as well, were also subject to civil law.

So, what if a brother then offends in that civil law, which might also affect God's Law, is the offence committed worthy of the death penalty? If not, then prayer may be offered on his behalf for God's forgiveness & for the brother's release from civil prison. But if the brother has sinned which is deserving of the death penalty, then the full force of God's Law & civil law stands. One cannot assume that this was a premeditated crime (can a true Christian even embark on such sins?); it could have been accidental/unintentional, yet determined as intentional, thus bringing on the legal requirement. As also for blasphemy & partaking of the Lord's Supper unworthily as sins - it is futile to pray for all such situations.

The most tragic figures in Matthew's 2nd chapter are the mothers of the children slain by Herod. They would not be comforted because their children were no more. As the mother of a lost child, I can envision their grief and horror since it is not clear they had any real clue as to why their babies were dead. I am struggling with the question this brings up: if fulfilling God's plan meant allowing my child to be slain, could I do it? Who among us could? Yes, God the Father could, and did, allow his Son's death. What could I sacrifice?

Is it not true that the holy spirit is part of the trinity? The spirit is the comforter that jesus told us about. We in fact have communion with this spirit always beholding the face of christ! Is this not amazing!

The grace of God through the work of the Holy Spirit gives us the victory over sin the devil and the world more so as we grow in grace and the knowledge of God .

But there are also false spirits counterfeit Christians . Real power but they can not give the victory in the above mentioned , because they are not of God .

I have met people with spiritual power and presence, but not of God . So we need to know sound doctrine found only in the Bible , the very word of God

I like your break down and elimination of the thought. However I think the last part is not spelling out to add up, for it to make full sense. I mean if they are God's son eg: Seth and Cain line eg: Enoch...( i am referring to the Enoch from Cain line here). How then would giants come about?. For we know these mighty men of re-noun speaks to giants also not just great men of mighty accomplishments, it speaks about warlocks, wizards men steeped in evil devices and powers. Think about this for a sec and let me know if it can ever be. The opposite of your own theory. The sons of God as the angels. Yes we are talking about the fallen ones, That 1/3 that the devil deceived to follow him. They are the nephilims that came and mingle with man kind and teach them charms, adornment of beauty, science, war, weapons, etc. Long story short.... Like Jesus being born of an spiritual birth not normal, Born of woman and the Spirit of God, Not the seed of man. The devil also wishes to corrupt the line of the Savior that he cause these corrupted Nephilims to mingle with man Kind. Jesus was born of the Spirit can it not be that the fallen ones can also cause woman born of un-natural procreation to bring forth un-natural off spring being giants in this case. The Idea was the same as what Balack wanted Balam to do back in Number to have man Kind Mingle in sinfulness to cause corruption. But the line of purity of Man kind was kept in Noah and his off springs over the year through the line of Seth. But even after the Flood we see the line was kept but the mind of man was corrupted and evil came forth in latter years by Ham line, Nimrod etc.....

We know angels cannot procreate, or marry but that is in Heaven because that is not the way there. however these Fallen ones do not obey such law. the fact that they mingle with Human can be the creation of un natural life. Remember how things are now spiritual things and physical things mixed without God is detrimental and evil.

A Person has to do more than just say I believe this and know they have read it. The 2nd verse says "I will SAY of the Lord..... Speaking God's Word is the key to seeing it work in our lives. We don't have to go in places shouting the Word, but we can say it to ourselves and God's angels hear His Word being spoken and respond to it.
