What is our part in God's plan of salvation for the lost?

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God ( 2 Corinthians 5:20). you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth ( Acts 1:8). Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit ( Matthew 28:19).

And he said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned ( Mark 16:15-16).

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us ( Romans 5:8). And we likewise are to share God's love with others.

    Hopefully the unsaved will

Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ( Acts 3:19).

We are called upon by God to be His representatives to the world, spreading His gospel, that we may demonstrate His love to the lost that they to may be saved.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these ( Mark 12:30-31). The greatest way we can show God's love to others is to spread God's saving gospel - by evangelizing.

Without evangelism - spreading the Word of God, billions of souls would have never known the sweat salvation of God. God uses us, if we obey, to bring Him lost souls.

If the lost condition of this world is on your heart, log in some prayer time with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus sent the disciples out by 2's. Study how Jesus ministered to the lost.

When the prison guard feared that Paul & Silas had escaped prison (but had not), he became so convicted by their actions & no doubt, by the words that he would have heard them speak, that he wanted to know the way of salvation.

Paul's simple word was clear, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house." Acts 16:30-34.

So we see that salvation can only come by hearing the Gospel & for each person to respond to it personally. This verse does not suggest 'household salvation/baptism', where if one person is saved then the others in the house are too. No, each one is responsible to believe & respond. And for young ones who may not be able to, then it's the parent's responsibility to teach them.

And the amazing thing we learn, Paul & Silas did all this (sharing the Gospel to the guard's family at night & baptizing them straightaway) & then returning back to be put behind bars, to be released the following day.

    Joel 2:28-29

If you are a daughter, then you are a handmaiden.

Prophesy MEANS speak forth the Word of God. Preach and Teach the Bible.

Don't let people despise your humble beginnings. God picks those that will go ye.

    You must be born again.

You must be Holy Spirit Baptized.

You need a working knowledge of the Bible.

Your armor and weapons are spiritual, invisible, but if God calls you, He will equip you.

Jesus is your Example: do it like he did in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Memorize everything on the LINK in the red area of this website, BECOME A BELIEVER.

There are many websites that teach practical information on how to begin a street ministry. You gotta learn to Pray. Go into the Prayer Request Room and help one person. :). Then another. Be Jesus with skin, in HIS harvest field. Disciples use a buddy system too.

"Good words & fair speeches". Translated from the Greek (the original language), this would be "smooth talk & polished, captivating language".

There were those in the Church that wanted to pervert the doctrines & teachings given by the apostles to the Church. They did so by using special enticing words & dynamic preaching which no doubt appealed to the hearers & sounded convincing. Many within the Church may have been swayed by their 'performance' looking at the preacher rather that what is preached.

It even happens today as many are so gripped by some speakers, the speakers can say just about anything & the Christian will accept it as Truth. Paul was warning the Church in Rome to take particular care & give proper attention to God's Word.
  • The SON OF MAN Lord of the Harvest on Revelation 1 - 5 years ago
    Matthew 12:8

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

    Matthew 12:32

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the WORLD TO COME.

    Matthew 16:13

When Jesus came...and asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

    Matthew 16:27

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works (saved/unsaved)

    Matthew 16:28

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

    Revelation 1:13

And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

    Revelation 14:14

And I looked, and behold a white CLOUD, and upon the CLOUD one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Comment: Jesus is the Son of God. After he was born to Mary and Joseph, by the Power of the Holy Spirit; Jesus was then known as the Son of Man (as in Mankind).

    He said it himself.

He is ALL son of God, and ALL son of man (human)

If you skip down to the last 2 verses, Jesus was seen by the Apostle John in a vision: as the Victorious Son of man about to put in His sickle and Reap the Harvest of souls.

One of his Names is Lord of the Harvest.

He's coming soon too. I mean no offense, but now is not a time to procrastinate and split scripture hairs over theologies of man, different Bibles, ancient UN-CANONIZED scripture.

Human history is about to wrap up. Write this book of scripture inside your Bible cover: 2 Peter Chapter 3. Have it handy.

The earth is already beginning to burn. It's not Global Warming; it's Almighty God!! He will PERFORM his Word.

Jesus performed miracles on the sabbath day and many people received the healing power of God through Jesus. Some people was hungry but Jesus made sure his disciples and other people who believed in him was not hungry and wanting for food. If you have faith in God you can overcome difficulties in life like hunger and even sickness.

So that now makes sense Jay: that the last paragraph of your original post was incorrectly placed there. Thank you for that - I can now understand clearly that at death, man's spirit returns to God (Eccl 12:7), as you believe also.

And just to clarify from my end: what I wrote, which you said was a misquote by me, was actually not intended to be your words verbatim. I specifically applied my own understanding to what you had written, so that you could correct my interpretation, since I was conflicted about Eccl 12:7 & your last paragraph. Anyway, matter closed: we're both in agreement now. Thanks for your time & the Lord bless you too.

In your original post you accused me of posting the following "Yet you write that on death, man's spirit doesn't return to God, whether to life or eternal death, rather it remains in 'limbo'. " Never did I post that. That is a baseless charge. I challenge you to find said statement in my post. In fact, I said all through the post, and also at the end, that at death the spirit returns to God.

Now to your last post; I hadn't noticed until today that there was a misquote. The one line "This does not mean that the life-force actually travels to heaven." is a misquote and should not have been inserted into this post. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

We are all human and as such some of us do make mistakes, the fewer the better. I hope this post helps, if not don't call me, I will be unavailable. I do, however, forgive you for your baseless charge in your first response to me.

We all should learn a valuable lessen from this experience It is what I continuously say "Put your faith in God's Word, not in man."

God Bless and have a good day.

Proverbs 16:18 - Pride goeth before destruction......... Praise God. Thank You Jesus.

That's a good 'catch', noticing the words, "there is no God" in Isaiah 45:14. In Hebrew, the LORD in the first part of the verse, is 'Yahweh', but in the latter part of the verse, it is "El" & "Elohim", which can used of the true God but allows for use of other gods, angels, kings or judges.

So in context of the verse, these others (gentiles) that come to Israel will come in brokenness & humility, and acknowledging that "God (El) is the God with Israel, & there is no god (Elohim), there is none else". So it is the cry of the gentiles, though not coming to faith in the true God of Israel, did however acknowledge that there is none beside Him. Since they didn't know the true God as Israel knew God, the word 'El, Elohim' is being used to signify this.

When a person is saved from his/her sins through Jesus Christ, it means that God declares us not guilty & spares us from eternal punishment. This happens because Jesus, in His great Love, stepped in as our substitute giving His Life so that we might be spared. But if our salvation from sin's penalty stopped there, then we would still be failures in this world of evil & temptations. Our old sins would have been dealt with but we would not have the Power of God in us to resist further sin & enjoy God's ministry to our lives.

That is why God gave us His Holy Spirit to indwell us: He seals us as God's children, teaches, comforts, guides, gives power over sin & many more blessings. But one of the greatest blessings from the Spirit is that he sanctifies us (i.e. sets us apart, makes us holy) before the Father. So the fullness of God also means the fullness of His Holiness is within us. Where the problem starts is when the believer begins to stifle the Spirit, or entertain sin in the life, & the Spirit no longer has full control. We are still holy people ( 1 Peter 2:9) but the Spirit of Holiness no longer reigns in the person's life. But when we repent & subsequently been forgiven & brought back into full fellowship with God, we can exclaim with the Psalmist, also "restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation" ( Psalm 51:12a). Joy is the clear product of a life of confessed & forgiven sin & walking in step with the Spirit of God.

    1. Nicodemus, a Pharisee (a Jewish religious leader) was confused by Jesus' expression 'that a man must be born again before he can see the Kingdom of God'. To the natural mind, a birth/re-birth can only be a physical event, making any other meaning confusing & laughable. Yet, Jesus explained that He wasn't talking about a physical birth but a spiritual birth (something that the Pharisee knew nothing about). He knew something about God's Spirit but that the Spirit could do such a work in man was unthinkable. When a person, a sinner, confesses his sinful condition to God & asks for forgiveness, God does forgive him based on the death & resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. As Jesus, the sinless Sacrifice of God, gave up His Life as our substitute (since sinful man cannot atone for his own sins), God accepted that Sacrifice, thus allowing all who come to Him through Jesus might be completely forgiven. As soon as that happens, the sinner is saved from the penalty of his sins & given God's Spirit to indwell Him making him a new person. This transaction: giving of oneself over to God as God then gives Himself to indwell the new person, is what is termed 'being born again': being born anew by the Power & Presence of God.

    2. Romans 10:9 speaks of what a sinner's action before God, i.e. "confessing the Lord Jesus" (acknowledging both Jesus' divinity & humanity & that the Sacrifice is all the sinner needs to be saved) & "believing in the heart that God indeed raised Jesus from the grave". When one looks at these aspects, there are not many who can truly acknowledge these Truths. Whereas the new birth in John 3 speaks of God's action in the sinner by making him new & giving of His Spirit to indwell.

    3. True, spiritual rebirth is synonymous with Spirit baptism. But to be born of water, I understand to mean a reference to one's physical birth. As Nicodemus spoke of the physical birth, Jesus said that both the physical ( Jn 3:6) & spiritual births are necessary to be saved.
