Verse 1 states "In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness." This corresponds with the healing waters from the Temple in Ezekiel 47 as well as Revelation 20 for the nations of the world.
Verses 2 through 5 discuss the end of false prophets; even the death of a family member who prophesies lies. Verse 6 seems to also be a prophesy of Christ as well as a warning of how when the Lord returns there is no more toleration from anyone closely associated with a false prophet.
Verse 7 is clearly a prophesy of Christ as cross referenced in Matthew 26:31 since Christ quoted it.
Verse 8 and 9 discuss a subject I've mentioned previously in the posts on Zechariah; on the third that make it through the Tribulation. It should be noted that God hears them. I have also noted for those who think this is cruel as to the interpretation; that mankind will be rarer than gold overall when the Day of Judgment comes. ( Isaiah 13:12). Truly; the cost of rejecting their Messiah and many centuries of rebellion has cost Israel dearly as to blessings they could have had. Nonetheless, they are once again established in their homeland and they will never completely be annihilated there despite the gathering of all nations against them in the last days.
1 Cor 10:33, "Even as I(Paul) please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
Philippians 2:19-21, "19But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. 20For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 21For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's."
Lets pay attention to verse 21. Even at that time people were interested in their affairs, with some exceptions like Paul and Timothy. How difficult is for one to devote himself to the needs of others. But Jesus did exactly that.
Have a blessed weekend.
Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.
2 concepts are indicated in these lyrics. First; praise isn't always accepted by God and second riches of this world often are treasured above the Lord. Both of these points are an issue when it comes to the Contemporary Christian music industry; in particular.
Lucifer according to Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14 was anointed as a Cherubim with musical giftings built into him. He chose glory for himself; therefore lost his place in heaven and consequently; can only use his talents for evil purposes today. It is hard to conceive that those who have written scripturally sound lyrics in the past could abandon the Lord; but mind boggling to see those who have continued to confess Christ but accept all the ideologies contrary to scripture. This is certainly reminiscent of the type of people you would expect in the last days Laodicean type church. The kind of God which is worshipped in this case is one sided toward love and acceptance and doesn't look at repentance seriously. God loved us enough to send His Son ( John 3:16) but when the Son had our sins placed on Him the Father had to look away. ( Matthew 27:46; Habakkuk 1:13).
There are exceptions; of course of artists whose lives truly reflect the proper doctrines; and show the proper behavior as a humble servant. This often at the very least means turning down more lucrative offers that cause compromise and starting your own music label. Many start in local churches then end up getting sucked into the greed of worldly desires for success and any new musician should have regular discipling and close association with a local church; preferably as a member. We should pray also for those who are gifted musically in secular circles that they will turn to Christ and witness to them when opportunities arise.
Well I looked that up and yes, there was that person Marcion in the early church who was teaching that there are 2 different Gods. An inferior God in the OT who was strict with people and a superior God in the NT who was mercyful to people. Markion claimed that YAHWEH was the God of the OT. He could not understand why God behaved in different ways in the Old from the New Testament. So he found the solution of 2 different Gods each of them acting in a different age. Still Markion didn't call devil the person that was called YAHWEH, just an inferior God. His teachings were condemned by the early church.

1 Cor 30-32,
"30. For this cause (taking the Body and Blood of Jesus while unclean) many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world."
What does the above say?
It says that if we take the Holy Communion while we are not clean then God will allow(or cause) illnesses and even death to come to us. Why? We are judged by Him in order to make us repent and so we will not be condemned together with the sinful world. Everything that God does is because of His love to us. He even causes hard things to us to make us keep going and cross the finish line. That may sound a bit strange to people but actually we do the same thing to our kids. When they are not obedient and they do bad things, we often punish them to make obey and keep on the straight path.
1 Cor 10:16,
"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?"
1 Cor 11:23-29,
"23. For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24. And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.25. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body."
Points of attention:
1. Communion of the Body and Blood of Christ. IT IS(not a symbol of) the Blood and It IS (not a symbol of) the Body of Christ.
2.Verse 29, lets pay attention to that "descerning the Lord's body", so It is the symbol of it.
3. If those were symbols, then nothing would happen to the believers when taking them while having sins. Why would anything happen to them? No reason. BUT if they are really the Body and Blood of Jesus then Holy things are entering our body and if there are sins in us then we are in trouble. In the same way in the OT when the priests were entering the "Holy of the Hollies" which means the place of the full and immediate presence of God, and they were not clean, then they were in danger of falling down dead.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
The above verse seems to be in contradiction to itself. "But will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it"??? ". A way to escape" SO THAT "you will be able to bear it"?. If God provides a way to escape why do I have to bear it? Either I have to bear itemptation OR I am given a way out. It can't be both. So what's going on here.
Although all translations, not just the KJB, say the same thing, even grk Bibles are of similar interpretation, let's see the grk:
"...alla (But) poiesei ([HE] will do) syn to peirasmo (together with the temptation) kai ten ekbasin (this can be translated as "and the result/ outcome", etc ) tou dynasthai ymas ypenegkein(to make you able to bear). Lets sum it up, "But together with the temptation [He] will give the outcome(something that will have an outcome in your struggle) to make you able to bear." The verse implies that God will give you the tools/strength to bear temptation NOT a way out to free you, as it is seems.
Well, I may be wrong here but this is how I know it.
You did not address this directly with me, but I felt it. This is not to debate it with you. I know in my heart nothing I have posted comes from Satan. There is a difference between, we sin, and we serve sin, dead in or dead to.
Ephesians 2:1:4 When we are born, we are born dead in trespasses and sins, and we remain in that spiritually dead state until we believe in faith Jesus as our savior and are baptized for the remission of our sins, at that moment we who were dead in sin are made spiritually alive in Jesus, Ephesians 2:5.
We confess to now be dead to sin and the old way of living and walk in the newness of life found in following Jesus, Romans 6:1-4. We are dead to sin and alive to God and we have a new walk, Romans 6:2,11. Dead to sin means we are no longer a slave to sin, we are no longer serving sin, Romans 6:6. We no longer allow sin to reign in our body.
This doesn't mean that a Christian will ever reach a state of sinless perfection while on this earth. As long as we are in this mortal body, sins will on occasion be committed. However, the point we became dead to sin through Jesus we will never participate in a lifestyle of persistent, continual, habitual sin. We will never let sin reign over us again, we are no longer sin slaves.
Slip-ups and stumbles are likely, part of us having the Adamic nature, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive our sins if we confess them. If we go back to our evil ways slaves to sin letting sin reign over us instead of our Savior Jesus, no more forgiveness, we are again dead in sin, living in sin.
This is what my understanding is, given to me through prayer and the guidance of the Spirit of God. If we say or teach we can get to a point while in this mortal body, we will never sin again, is that not the same as you shall not surely die??? Only One has or ever will live in this flesh and did not sin. Repentance is not a one-time thing, it is how we live, our walk in the Spirit.
God bless,
RLW
1.Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed
through the sea;
2. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Points of attention:
1."all our fathers were under the cloud" - means under God's presence.
2. "And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea" - represents getting baptized in water and in the Spirit
3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat and drink - represents getting fully tought the Word of God
4. The result? They were overthrown in the wilderness - end of the road for them
Why that result??
Verses 6-11:
6. NOW THESE THINGS WERE OUR EXAMPLES, TO THE INENT WE SHOULD NOT LUST AFTER EVIL THINGD, AS THEY ALSO
LUSTED.
7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11. NOW ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENED UNTO THEM FOR ENSAMPLES: AND THEY ARE WRITTEN FOR OUR ADMONITION, UPON
WHOM THE ENDS OF THE WORD COME.
When sin gets in, we get out.
In his 2nd letter to Timothy which is Paul's last letter before his martyrdom, Paul says:
2 Timothy 4:6-7,
7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, BUT UNTO ALL THEM ALSO that love his appearing.
Well, Paul finished his course/run, he fought the good fight and hence the prize of the crown of righteousness (salvation) awaits for him.
If he stopped running, if he stopped fighting, if he didn't keep the faith...???
24. Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27.But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
I don't think the above needs any further explanation. It is very clear.
No run, no prize, no fight no prize.
The overriding scriptural message is asking us to Repent. I question whether many Christians today really understand what repent means.
Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Romans 8:8 "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."
Romans 8:9 "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
Meaning of the word Repent.
Verb:
1: to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life
2: to feel regret or contrition
b: to change one's mind
transitive verb
1: to cause to feel regret or contrition
2: to feel sorrow, regret, or contrition for
I continue to hear Christians on this site, and elsewhere telling themselves and everyone else that they will always sin. They have accepted that as long as they live, they will always be sinners. This thinking/mindset comes directly from satan, who else would encourage you to think this way, which is totally against scripture.
Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."
1 John 3:6 "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him."
Living in sin - does not meet the expectation of God for us to REPENT!
Living in sin yourself is one thing, telling others that they can never stop sinning is another. Thinking like this and speaking like this is not very encouraging to yourself, or others. Something to think about.
Happy Sabbath Day
"19. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some."
The above is a part of God's widom given to Paul. Paul was always trying to place himself in others' shoes so to understand them and talk to them for Jesus directly to their heart. When one asks God to use them in a ministry, especially evangelizing, then God often allows them to go through hardships and trials in order for them to realize how people feel under the same cicumstances. People who do not suffer anything are usually very strict in their judgements for others. One who has fever understands how people who have fever feel and knows what they are expecting for.
"3. Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 4. Have we not power to eat and to drink? 5. Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 6. Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?. 7. Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock".
Also 1 Cor 9:14, "Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel."
A point of attention. "Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles...". They were all carying their wives together with them in their ministries. They didn't just leave them alone at home with the kids.
So what do we conclude from the above, should a minister get paid for his ministery or not? The answer seems to be, Yes, they should get paid.
But lets go to Acts 20:33-35, where Paul talks to the elders of Ephessus,
"33. I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. 34. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. 35. I HAVE SHEWED YOU ALL THINGS , how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
It is obvious that Paul suggestion is that ministers should follow his example and not use that right, but work with their own hands for their own needs. If they are not able to cover their needs, then in that case only, they must accept help(not wage) from the church, like sometimes Paul himself did.
Altar
"That they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
In the creation account God blessed man with the same words, be fruitful, replenish and subdue" Mind of God is steadfast, and blessings in his Son have been laid immutable before the worlds began. The Lamb slain (Re.13:8) is an emblem that is 'forever' as his power and glory is everlasting to everlasting. Only clue we have of it is from the example of Jesus Christ who as the Lamb of God showed it. In short when the Spirit annotates it 'God remembered, its key can only found in his Son whose atoning work holds an emblem and his everlasting covenant is established by his life and sacrifice. "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified."(He.10:14). What is the will of God, which requires no afterthought or correction? As the Father is perfect so is the Son. So the emblem in the mind of God is perfection that the Son offered on the cross.
Noah tasted the mercy of God who spared him alone, and the creation that God chose for him which by principle of Association makes them as one. Thus the command number Five encapsulates his world in which God's mercy is bound within the ark. Breadth of the ark was 50 (5x10). In vv.9-10 God sent them out.
The ark would have one single measurement, which was true with the ark and it shall also be in the holy city of God to be revealed in eternity. Thus man has a volume where we are responsible for His creation. Jesus Christ did not spare himself. "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;/And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him."(He.5:8-9).It is thus the Spirit instructs us with the ark. Without shedding of blood there is no redemption. Jesus set us an example and our reasonable service is to consider our bodies as as living sacrifice. (Ro.12:1) It is the only way we can put on the mind of Christ.
" And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth."(v.7)
What is the role of the raven and later a dove that Noah sent from the ark? The writer to the Hebrews says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,/Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son."(He.1:1-2)
" The dove has a double function and the significance of the raven goes beyond feeding Elijah in his distress but serves us to understand the mind of Christ.
"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us./ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us."( Luke 9: 49-50) Jesus could work with people of all hues for he knew what was in their mind. Noah similarly accommodates,-metaphorically speaking, the entire creation under his charge. His name Noah signified rest. So the Spirit ties Noah as a rest-giver with Jesus who was the prince of peace.
The raven flew hither and thither till the waters drained off from the face of the earth but he chose not to return. He however serves us to understand that it makes all sorts of people whose service to God have their own shape and colour. When Jesus tells his disciples, "I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labour."( John 4:38)
The dove with 'an olive leaf pluckt off' is an emblem. Its primary sense: the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which would meld holy families 'in the now' for the holy city of God in eternity.
The dove represented His messengers ie., John the Baptist who was anointed in his mother's womb to serve as ' friend to the groom'. Thirdly the dove served as a harbinger of House of Prayer for all nations in eternity. (Ps.128:3) Olive signifies gladness and glory of the church. (Ps.104:15)
The grk "machaira" may refer to a sword but also to a dagger or a knife. I think it was impossible for Jews to cary real swords with them while being under Roman rule, they were in a risk to be called rebels. So what Peter had with him was most probably a dagger or simply a knife. Lets not forget that Jesus and the apostles had no permanent residence, so they carried together with them all that was needed for cutting, say, bread or meat or use in small works. I also don't think that Jesus would ever allow them carrying swords with them, and secretely. This is against His teachings. This is also shown by His answer to Peter.
In Luke 22:36 Jesus speaks metaforically, He warns His disciples that for a while (those 3 days) they will on their own, without His protection, so they must be ready for that.
vv.1-6
"And the waters returned from off the earth continually: "
God brought a great deluge to rid of the ungodly old earth. How did the men of old fare? Their disobedience rendered them unhinged from truth, which means they held truth in unrighteousness. "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.(6:5). Very much like our times and we breathe the toxic of their conspiracy theories and no civil dialogue on whatever topic is almost impossible so God's word would find no rest till it is completed.
Noah sends out from the ark a raven and a dove to check out. Impossible! "But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot." (vv.8-9) It is gradual but continually the word gone forth from his mouth does its work. It is how the Holy Spirit presented the day of creation with the formula, "And evening and the morning were" at the end of each day in Ch.1 The same holds true when God rested from his labors. He blessed the seventh day precisely for the truth that the Law of the Lord sanctified the Day of creation. The day was Person specific, and even here truth remains the same. "I am the Truth" The Father willed and the Son made.
:"And God remembered Noah, and every living thing," and this,"and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged." Compare what Jesus did with boisterous winds? "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."( Mark. 4:39)
The example of Elijah stopping the rain. "And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word." (1 Ki.17:1) It was the word of the God and when Elijah says "according to my word" he was standing as a stand in for Jesus Christ.
The Spirit has set the place where the ark would come to rest for our instruction and Ararat is another name for His holy mountain.(Is.14:12-13) "And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat."(8:4)
In the narrative we shall continue the progress of man in which Abraham will represent the stand in for the holy family, "Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him."(Is.51:2). God fashioned Adam of the dust of the ground while the mountain signifies the rock, on which Zion is founded. "Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation" The seven pillars that wisdom has hewn, keep the eternal promises of God despite of the judgment of the old world standing on a sure foundation.
"Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged." (Is.51:1)
Secondly, how do we fulfil the will concerning us? Redeemed saints have two worlds which are of the body' (a body hast thou prepared me) and of the Spirit. Each has, as the study of the Ark of Noah instructs us, carries a spiritual volume as Noah had, measurement of which can only be computed by one measure, which is of man and of an angel. Simply put it is the presence of God, it is word based and it is being hid in Christ. ("For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."- Col. 3:1-3)
Noah preserved in the water speaks of a death every saint has to undergo. "that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:/ Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished." (2 Pe.3:5-6)
