No Stacey. Esau, as his brother Jacob, were the offspring of Isaac & Rebekah. Satan does not bear physical children - He bears spiritual children, of which we all were once when we obeyed him rather than the living Holy God. When Jesus accused the religious leaders of their wickedness, He said that they were the children of the Devil ( John 8:44): not that the Devil was their physical father, but was their spiritual father as he filled them with his words & works of evil.

So Esau was Isaac's son but because of the deception by his brother Jacob & therefore missing out on the blessing from Isaac, Esau left the home, married foreign women, became wealthy & became the father of the Edomites, as also likely, the Kenizzites & Amalekites. Eventually, the brothers did reconcile (Genesis chapter 33), but it remained that Esau's progeny were never included in Jacob's line. Because Esau did what he did, does not give us any warrant to ever think of him as a product of some demonic relationship.

I believe the answer to all 3 of your questions is yes. I believe those who believe people will be instantly in heaven upon death misinterpret 2 different verses:

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Note, he says he'd "rather be absent" and not 100% of everyone saved who dies is instantly with the Lord.

Luke 23:43 - And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. People also assume this means 100% of all saved people are instantly in heaven. However, Jesus can make exceptions and do whatever he wants. It doesn't mean that every action Jesus took was automatically applied to everyone else 100% of the time. Jesus healed some people and not others. He was closer to some people relationally than others. Secondly, the word 'paradise' may not necessarily mean heaven. It's very possible that there is a 'waiting area' before judgment such as paradise or pergatory.

Third, it's already given that in the end Jesus will come to earth and the dead shall rise and meet Him in the air 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17. So, it makes more logical sense that saved people are 'sleeping' and awaiting judgment on Earth and will then fulfil this scripture and go to heaven with Jesus. Otherwise, it would not be logical for saved people to go to heaven before judgment day, nor would it be logical for people in heaven to return to earth to then rise up from the grave or ashes and then meet Jesus, only to go back to heaven. There's even more scripture supporting that saved people will sleep and await judgment, but these are the key points that others use to justify their belief, for reference.

That's a very sad situation Carl, one in which not a lot can be done since your great grandchildren are probably still subject to their parents instructions & guidance. I have a niece & nephew that no longer communicate with my wife & me because of their parents filling them with matters untrue. As their children, though now adults in their 30s, they still follow what they believe to be true & probably don't want to 'rock the (family) boat'. So it has been very sad as we have not been able to have any input into their lives especially with Christian teaching, to which we believe they are deprived & destitute.

We nevertheless don't cease to pray for them, committing their lives to the Lord Who alone is able to help them, counsel them & indeed, put in their hearts to get in touch with us again. We long for that day, just as you & your wife remain hopeful. You can only commit this matter to the Lord that both the hearts of your grand & great grand children will be touched & to learn of the truth about your genuineness & ongoing love for them. Are you able to talk to your children to learn more of this & if they are willing to mediate between you & their children? How do your children understand this situation? Even if a very personal letter from you to your great grand children can be sent through an intermediary, it may go some way to let them know of your feelings for them & may hit a 'nerve' of understanding & love from them.

However, if they don't really know you because of this estrangement being so long, then they might well say, "but we don't know who you are". The Lord can overrule - like in everything we face in life, we have to be cast completely upon Him & He will do what is right & in His time. I pray that your faith may increase & that you may find Christ's joy in spite of your circumstances.

Good information, Chris. Brings to mind 2 Corinthians 11:3 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."
  • Chris - In Reply on Isaiah 64 - 5 years ago
Hi Richard, if one looks at this 'Serpent Seed' doctrine, we see that this nothing new. This teaching was seen in the Gnostic writings, chiefly the Gospel of Philip. The early Church father, Irenaeus, was aware of this teaching which he declared as heresy. But it continued to be seen, & in more recent times given more exposure by the likes of some American religious leaders (Daniel Parker, William Branham, & Arnold Murray). Even some adherents to the white supremacist theology (called, Christian Identity) make a claim that the Jews are descended from the serpent.

This is not the place to denounce these people but I was truly concerned about this teaching (& other non-Scriptural ones) that has been going over the centuries, where even women were blamed for causing men to sin (probably because of Eve's relationship to Satan), that Cain's descendants were masquerading as scientists & the educated, & in Branham's case, that he was a reincarnation of John the Baptist coming to herald the return of the Lord Jesus. Branham died in 1965 & we still wait.

So I get very grieved for folk who willingly fall for false teaching & absurdities, seeking in their zeal to learn more of God's Mind in the Bible, but are forced to re-interpret Scripture to fill in the missing links. As I've always maintained, the Bible must be read in its proper, natural way, intended way. When there are allegories, parables or image depictions given, then usually a clear understanding is also given with it. Where no information is given or something is hidden, then it needs to remain so. The problem arises when that which is "hidden or obscure" is then given 'new light' which often remains incompatible with the rest of Scripture. And then in reality, this becomes another Word of (or, from) God, & so we end up with a proliferation of teaching that is not only foreign to the Holy Word, but also becomes another tool from Satan to divert the seeking soul away from Truth & into judgement.

If you read the commentary of Psalm 91, It explains all about MAN and GOD. LIKE! Psalms 91:1 - He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ------- *** GOD ALMIGHTY is dwelling "in" MAN. MAN is the eye of GOD.

  • Luke Newbold on Exodus 19 - 5 years ago
What happens when we die? In 1 Thessalonians it is stated that the "dead in Christ" shall rise at the second coming of Christ before the living depart (the rapture), does this mean that when we die we remain in a 'dead state' until the second coming? Will it just feel like 'the blink of an eye' from the time we die until He returns? Will be be 'asleep' during this time?
  • David W Black - In Reply on 1 John 1 - 5 years ago
The use of the word angel in the 2 verses you'd referred to is in reference to messengers, as in men or women that were used by God to preach. If they sin after their calling then you get the warning in the verses you mentioned. There are those that preached and backslid. They sinned and died spiritually. Just like Adam died spiritually in the beginning. Eve was deceived to believe she could sin and not die. The lie is still alive and deceiving many today.

    Matthew 7:17-23

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Here we see there's either good trees & good fruit or evil trees & evil fruit. Man is the trees & we're either good or evil not both. If you are guilty of sin, you're evil, working iniquity and Jesus will say depart from Me. If you won't obey God by being saved FROM sin, that's His response, depart.

This isn't personal between myself or anyone reading, but a friendly reminder sinners cannot enter Heaven nor be part of His kingdom now.

Which She's Entitled To Disagree And I'm Not Looking For Her To Believe Anything, But Adhere To My Thoughts And Questions Because I'm Just Sharing Information And She Takes That And Thinks Thats What I Actually Believe In

Because I'm Still Learning The Way I Feel She Puts Herself Above Those Lost In Sin Or Battling It. Pray For My Well Being My Family, My Enemies , And Those Who Are Lost In Sinned And Those Who Are Battling Day To Day.

If you have questions about a persons parentage, by all means PROVE IT yourself by actually reading those tedious genealogies yourself. Read all the cross references to other back up passages.

It's not our duty to prove false theories. You must stand alone with your statements.

It's by the individuals words and WORKS that each person will be judged by Christ Jesus.

I will not be part of that. Mishael

    Thank you, Richard.

I choose to stand on what is stated in Revelation 22:18-19. Most arguments seem to come from not accepting what has been written down: genealogy proofs that God has faithfully recorded. I think God knew people would try to twist the Genealogies to suit their false teaching.

    There is our proof.

Our grandson and wife are keeping us from seeing our great grandchildren because of words exchanged six months ago. We apologized but that's not good enough. When mention of children respecting their elders, they say it goes both ways. It really has nothing to do with letter of apology. We really don't know what to think any more or to do.

    Hello,

I've struggled with alcohol most of my adult life. Several DUI's and other incidents have happened and I've been sober for over a year until about a month ago.

I got pulled over again this weekend and now have more legal problems and may lose my job, the best job I've ever had. My wife is standing by me and says God has all ways taken care of us.

    Please pray for us!

    Thank you!

The Most High is talking about the other nations. Whoever is not a part of The Twelves of Israel. The Most High only cares about The Children of Israel. He does not care about the other nations. That is why He has likened their abundance to spittle and a drop.

    Hello brother Hugo,

I hope I'm not stepping on Mishael's feet but just felt to post, a couple things, on the conversation you were having. So as you say "provide evidence" Genesis 4:1 is all I can give you. As along with in Genesis 4:25 Adam "knew" his wife and bore a son. About how you state "fruit" means "sex", or how you perceive it, just does not fit for me. Clearly they are speaking of eating fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. That God told them not to eat lest they will surely die. What about when the "serpent" says to Eve "Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Then she replies to him about eating fruit of the garden just not of the "certain" tree. Genesis 3:1-3. I can't see mixing this up with Eve having intercourse with(if that's what you portray) the "serpent". And about saying the genealogy would be wrong if Cain was Eve's first is incorrect. It would be the same as genealogies go off the "children of". As Cain has his own genealogy.

I guess one other thing I can state is in the Book of Enoch. Enoch was taken, on a tour, and actually was shown the Tree of Knowledge in a garden. A tree with fruit. I know not a lot of people believe in the Book of Enoch but I find many things in it that connect directly to our Holy Bible.

Maybe this whole thing with the "serpent seed" is really just a way to say someone is still living a very sinful and godless lifestyle. Which I would just categorize someone who has not been saved by Jesus Christ yet or still stuck in the "world". And I believe the Lord can save anyone, even the most wretched person. Instead of saying someone is of "serpent seed" I'd rather just say they haven't been saved yet or are not with the Lord. The whole "serpent seed" story was made up by someone and can not be proven. Just as many other things cannot be proven.

I'll stop here. God Bless you Hugo. Please don't take this harshly.

Have you read Romans 8:9 ? This answers that question with 100% certainty. Man's opinion doesn't matter on this, only what God says and God said it clearly through his Word in Romans 8:9.
