pulse- is this another name for vegetables or a specific food item(s)?
Why we do it is because; we decide the possible gain is worth the risk, we throw caution to the wind, we are wanton and careless by nature or we have an obsessive/compulsive urge or disorder. Is it our fumbling of language that causes us from the Hebrew translation forward to cause a sentence to say that God, though seeing a negative outcome, proceeded regardless? The wording subsequent to the act "...for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments...." is indicative of a fresh observation and not words recognizing an anticipated failure. I pray, believe, am born again and I like witnessing to unbelievers with confidence. Several instances exist of God appearing to be surprised though it's preached that it can't be. In Gen. 11, 5-7, God sees and reacts to an unwelcomed situation in the plain English reading of KJV. Doctrine seems esteemed over literal Bible with many preachers. Discrepancies and contradictions exist which are denied with many seeming to believe God dictated the Bible rather than inspired the writing (except in a couple places). Most never mention that Constantine influenced powerful doctrinal elements yet create narratives embracing those elements as if they are scripture or stretch certain Bible verses and scriptures or interpret them to complement their narrative. Do you think God intended the Bible exactly as is? Why so many versions, doctrines, denominations? Do you see a distinction between liberality and evil that led 50% of the nation to vote for one opposing life for babies, defense of Israel, Christian right of speech over pervert laws claiming it to be hate speech, less law?
My first Bible was a Living Bible which was so severely marked up after a year, I got a KJV on the 2nd Bible. I'm on my 8th Bible now (KJV).
Best advise: google has Bible Commentaries you can read. Type in your scripture like this:
" John 16:8 Commentary"
Several commentaries will pop up. Matthew Henry is reliable. Usually the first 5 are most reliable.
I love studying. In some places you'll see verses repeated a couple of chapter forward; like in Genesis.
If you'll get a KJV with center of each page, reference columns, it's a huge help in studying. The tiny abc's imbedded in the scripture correspond to the center column: that will add other books and scriptures that give more light to what you are reading.
I learn faster by reading 2-3 books at a time. It flows better. Make notes in pencil to go backward to a verse; or forward.
When your Bible is all marked up, it's time to get a new one so the Lord can show you even more light and revelation on scriptures. You'll see how much you are growing and learning.
Always ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the truth and the mysteries.
If you see someone struggling to put it all together as we did, once: you are approved to help them. "Study to show yourself approved (by the Lord), a workman that need not be ashamed."
We need you in here to help those who are new to this :)
8 And when HE is come, HE will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
COMMENT:
It is not your job to attempt to do the Holy Spirits job for Him. He's the only one who can operate on a human heart.
Psalm 23: the shepherd's staff is to guide the sheep. Pull them away from danger. He carries the lambs in his arms. At no time does he use the staff to beat a sheep into condemnation. ITS the Holy Spirits WORK to watch over and perfect the New Birth. We don't all get it perfect on day one.
You could learn alot from Chris's style of Teaching. It does not cause a stampede. Painstaking, reasonable, patient, truth.
Your condemnation of people who are not perfect like you think you are, shows that you are a hireling.
Sometimes you just need to let justice through the Lord work its course and move on with your life as no one can escape His judgment.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to respond in detail to what I wrote. Please do not for a moment consider that I think I know more than another brother. That is certainly not what I was in any way implying.
Please provide evidence that Cain is recorded as Adam's firstborn. I have never seen this in the Bible. The genealogy of Adam goes through Seth very clearly. (This is of course because Abel was killed, and because Cain was not Adam's son) Also in Jude 1:14 (And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these...) the Bible would be wrong if Cain was Adam's son because then Enoch would have been the eighth, not seventh.
Please provide evidence that I am fixated on nakedness, wantoness, adultery and covering sex organs. I was simply responding to another brother's question. Nor do I remember having mentioned sex before in any of the 30-odd comments I have been able to make on this Godly discussion board.
You write "The entire Bible is about Jesus: Genesis to the last verse in Revelation". God bless you for knowing that. It is certainly true. Amen. Notice what our Lord said to the Pharisees in John chapter 8: Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. /// Jesus is telling the Pharisees that they are like the children of the serpent seed (Cain's line). The Pharisees reply that they are not born of fornication (No, they are not like the children of the serpent who fornicated with Eve). This is just one example of the many Many MANY references to the serpent seed found throughtout the Bible.
Dear brother, if you would like to grow even more in your loving understanding of our Lord's purpose for us, please do consider reading up about the serpent seed doctrine.
Peace and love in Jesus Christ
By the mercy of God I have been able to live a Christian life for about 12 years now, and have been believing in the doctrine of the Serpent Seed for all of those years. I have not found anything unscriptural about it; in contrast, it perfectly dove-tails with the rest of the Bible, which is how I know it to be accurate.
Other ideas about the fall of man will not be able to dove-tail with the rest of Scripture. For example: if eating a literal fruit caused sin then why did God require blood as a sacrifice for sin?
If you would like to have an even deeper understanding of God's wonderful plan and purpose in Christ, consider reading up about the doctrine of the serpent seed which has unfortunately been lost to the mainstream Christians.
Peace and love in Christ
Just wanted to answer your question according to my understanding. :-D
(Did not say anything about a snake though)
Love in Christ
Proverbs 31:3-9 are Mother's words to Solomon concerning a wholesome righteous rule: not given to an immoderate love for women (he failed here as you know) (v 3); not given to strong drink (vv 4-7) ; & to judge righteously (vv 8,9).
Proverbs 31:10-31 are the traits that a mother-in-law would expect her son to seek after in a 'virtuous wife'. Anything less than these would not get her approval & I sincerely doubt whether any of Solomon's 700 wives & 300 concubines fulfilled this criteria either. Bearing in mind that much of the descriptions given here are what was expected of a subservient wife in a male dominated home & society, so the necessary modifications need to be made when sharing with today's woman.
The wife should exemplify virtue & wisdom (vv 10,26,29). She can be fully trusted (in both household & financial matters) (vv 11,12). She is a hard worker, rising early, sleeping late (vv 13-19,24,27). Her honourable, God-fearing stance will be noticed before any outward beauty (vv 25,30). What traits you find here that are also in your wife should be emphasized - a listening appreciative ear is almost a guarantee. Hopefully, she will learn of what God looks for in women.
As well, both the apostles Paul & Peter give their description of godly women ( 1 Timothy 2:9,10 & 1 Peter 3:1-5) which you might find useful.
Who told u were sinning? Carnal not spiritual any more? Flesh..
