Anyway, back to Acts 10:9 & following verses: my point of objection is that you see this vision from the Lord to Peter as something to do with water baptism. As I read this portion, the whole message to Peter was to "call nothing common or unclean". That is, the unclean animals on the sheet represented not just unclean animals, but people that God had chosen to also become joint-heirs with the Jews who also believed, through Jesus' Blood. So this was preparation for Peter to meet with gentile Cornelius & Peter even declared to him (v28) that even though a Jew couldn't meet with a gentile, God had showed him differently.

Eventually, as Peter preached to him (them), the Spirit fell upon them, they spoke in other tongues & were baptized in water (vv 44-48). The clear order is seen here, to which you are disputing. There is no indication here or anywhere else that Peter ever "implied that the blood of our lord was insufficient and that water baptism cd remit sins".

This is your interpretation that is baseless & developed on spiritualizing so much of Scripture as you do here & in your other comments. You need to show where Peter, or anyone else, ever believed that water baptism could remit sins - if any did believe that, then they were not Christians saved & purchased by Christ's blood - they have not come via the Cross but by some vain imagination.

I certainly agree that there is only one sacrifice that can save & there is only one baptism that can sanctify & bring us into the family of God. Nevertheless, water baptism as Jesus prescribed & to which all the apostles attest to was necessary as part of that salvation experience. The only ones that were exempt from water baptism, as I surmise, were the apostles who were met by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. As well, we don't ever see the apostles speaking about their water baptism.

Every other person who has had the Gospel brought to them, who has responded to the Spirit's call upon them, is required to be baptized soon after their conversion by the one who has led them to the Lord. This of course rarely happens these days with people being baptized months or years later, which to me seems pointless & anti-scriptural.

What the Website Commentary says on this verse

    Wesley's Notes for Psalms 19:13

19:13 Presumptuous - From known and evident sins, such as are committed against knowledge, against the checks of conscience, and the motions of God's spirit. Dominion - If I be at any time tempted to such sins, Lord let them not prevail over me, and if I do fall into them, let me speedily rise again.

In man's attempt to present new Bible versions in contemporary English & style, they have also appealed to 'old' manuscripts that have not wholly been faithful to the true Words of God. Not to say that these other versions are altogether in error, but the many changes, inclusions & omissions should alert us to maintaining constant vigilance in this area. I would also include the Apocryphal writings as well - these too are riddled with errors, that to me, make any use of them, worthless & futile. Though many Christians are ill-informed about these things & so they continue on in blissful ignorance & not knowing the full Truth. But the bottom line is this: should one read from another 'acceptable' version so that they can understand what they read, or read from the KJV that is difficult to comprehend because of its wording & style?

Thanks for sharing that good news, Josef. Is this still the RC Church you were speaking about, or another Church? In the West, we hardly realize how difficult it is for Christians living & worshipping in Islamic countries, especially for those who have come out of Islam & want to follow the true God. May the Lord be with you & direct your steps in the days ahead & increase your knowledge & love for Him.

I now live alone. 3 days ago my cat, my friend, and my companion died suddenly from what I think may have been a heart attack or stroke. Please pray that God will help me understand why my only friend had to be taken. My heart went into the grave with her. My home is only an empty, silent, lifeless, house now. So many cats in the world, but she was the one I love and who loves me. I feel so lost. If Jesus has a white horse then he must care about animals and understand that we do also.

    Hello Mr.Wallace,

This is a good question. We begin to understand by reading the book of Revelations, the types of things that will befall those who love God in the end-times, which all be for God's glory.

Matthew 24 is an excellent example of what to expect.

Read Jeremiah 5:31. The wicked deceive the people of God, and God's people love the have it so.

In summary there is nothing sacred, nothing which Satan will not pollute and corrupt. People prefer to have a bible and God that conforms to their own wants, and desires. And they have corrupted versions of God's word to fulfill these desires.

  • Adam on Psalms 2 - 5 years ago
Hi, I have more than one request that I'll put into one post and hopefully it won't be a bother.

    There's someone who's dad has Alzheimer's.

There's someone's grandparents who seems not to be in good health and is hoping that they're ok.

There's someone's sister who has breast cancer.

There may be something else that I may of forgotten but if so, is anyone willing to pray that God intervenes in the lives above, that those who are having such issues like the ones mentioned above to get healed and all of them including those around them to get saved through Christ please?

    Thank you.

Comments on the washing of the feet which was symbolic of mans hearts, Its our hearts that defile us not our feet or our personal hygiene.Satan had entered the heart of Judas to betray Jesus not his feet as Jesus said he that eateth bread with me has lifted up his heel ( his foot ) against me but Judas neva did kick Jesus Judas assaulted Jesus with his heart not his feet. The foot washing was a heart washing and is so important that Jesus said if i wash thee not you will have no part with me even tho they had been water baptised. This foot washing was parabolic of a heart washing . I will give them a new heart and a new spirit And is nothin less then the baptism of the H.G. the new covenant, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh thus we will clean each others feet/ our hearts with his word the living word which is that Christ that is gona be born in US via that good seed the word. If i wash thee not you will have no PART WITH ME IMPLING ITS OUR HEARTS THAT NEED WASHING , BEING BORNAGAIN OF AN INCORRUPTIBLE SEED ETC A HEART WASHING . Its our hearts that need washing not our feet but jesus did everything in parables and metaphors. An old friend that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me but Judas neva assaulted Jesus with his feet or kicked JESUS .Judas assaulted Jesus with his heart as the scriptures say satan had entered the heart of Judas to betray Jesus SO THIS FOOT WASHING WAS REALLY A HEART WASHING . By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. ( Hebrews 11:4)

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. ( 1 John 3:11-12)

I heard in my ear last night, mama soft and then a strum of a guitar. I shot to in my bed thinking about my daughter which was spending the night with friend. I remember praying for eyes to see and ears to hear, and a voice for him. Having also woke up with my right ear popping last night, big pop. I don't know if the ear had anything to do with it, but it was a loud one. We also had a storm here last night. When I had awoken with voice and guitar it was heavy winds blowing and light rain. I am going to continue to go through scripture to try to understand and pray on it. Thank you! Peace be with you!

Chris ya gotta realize that all the unclean ANIMALS in that sheet that God showed PETER was humanity the Church that was made Clean by the blood of the lamb,HG. BAPTISM .THE BAPTISM OF PROMISE via the CROSS NOT WATER BAPTISM. The sheet was knit at the 4 corners which is symbolic of the Cross his blood that is knit in the 4 Gospels. Three times GOD rebuked Peter with that sheet telling Peter that it was by the blood of the lamb he made everybody Clean,If i be lifted up I will draw All men UNTO ME.What i have made CLEAN ( BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB ) Do not call common or unclean ) Thats what Peter was impling that the Cross was insufficieth they still needed water baptism who can forbid water,Peter was commanding water baptism as if the cross was insufficient lacking etc he was also impling that water cd remit sins who can forbid water thats when the lord rebuked peter 3 times with that sheet. After that Peter understood the vision he said Then rememebered i the words of our lord John baptised you with water but i will baptise you with the H.G. and fire who was i to withstand God . Nomore does Peter command water baptism but said being bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the Words of our lord, no water mentioned. Chris ya gota realize that its by this word which is the good seed that forms FAITH in US initiating a birth of Christ in us The substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen which is the H.G. THE Child of PROMISE. but without this baptism of the H.G there can be no fruit unto God,She brought forth a man Child that is gona rule all nations and this woman in rev 12 is the best example of the new birth and the baptism of the H.G th PROMISE CHILD, FRUIT UNTO GOD, My lil children of whom i travail in birth till Christ is formed in you . The Child of PROMISE which is the new covenant a birthing covenant he said "I will KNOW THEM ALL" THIS KNOW THEM ALL IS AN INTIMACY THAT RESULTS IN A BIRTH OF CHRIST IN US THE SON OF MAN. TH CHILD OF PROMISE
