Jonah 4:2 reveals the prophet's knowledge of God and His character of mercy and compassion. He knew God so well, but refused to be like Him. God's desire for Israel was to use them to display the glory of God and draw the world to God. Instead, Jonah exemplifies Israel's arrogance in claiming "those people" are undeserving of the grace extended to themselves from a loving God.

This attitude resulted in the religious leaders of Christ's day putting Him on a cross, rejecting His message of salvation. Their sinful response provided for our salvation and the creation of the church, Christ's bride. Now we are to be "one" with Christ and display His compassion and mercy while speaking to all people's of His love and forgiveness available to them through Calvary. His church - meaning each Christian - is commissioned to make disciples, and commanded to deny ourselves and take up our cross daily.

Do I really believe God is full of mercy and compassion? What I do with God's message of forgiveness and mercy through offering Jesus Christ's salvation and calling for sinners to repent = the answer to that question.

In chapter 1 Jonah never prays to God, but tries to run away. As we understand God's call for us to give the gospel to the world, prayer for wisdom, power, and love for sinners should be our "first priority". Jonah also teaches me to understand anytime I think of some one or people group as "those people", I need to humble myself and realize we are all "one people" in God's eyes. No one is more undeserving of God's love than I am. The fact that He brought the knowledge of the gospel to me is proof He can save anyone who repents of sin and takes Christ as Lord and Saviour. Amen!

"Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." Like the seed of faith planted, it starts slow, but will surely grow well, when planted in good ground! negligible at first, but soon a tree that all the fowls of the air may hide and rest in!

Deborah was the only female judge in the Bible. She served as judge (a military or civil leader) over Israel as a prophet, judge, military leader, songwriter & minstrel ( Judges 4,5).

She showed exemplary moral character & the people gave her love & respect. She was the wife of Lapidoth & presumed to have lived in Ephraim. She judged & led Israel for about 40 plus years from 1195 BC.

Israel was given over to idolatry & subsequently were bondage to Jabin, King of Canaan. It was at the time of Israel's suffering, that God sent Deborah to secure Israel's freedom. This she did with Barak who was urged to raise up a great army to fight against the Canaanites. She was urged to attend the battle with Barak & his army, though she warned him that after his victory, the glory would not come to him, but to another (to a woman who killed Sisera, the leader of the Canaanite army while he slept exhausted after the battle, at her home). And we know that the Canaanites were defeated by the Hand of the Lord.

After this, Deborah wrote a song about these events & Israel enjoyed 40 years of peace under her & Barak's leadership.

The Pastor and his family escaped, but, everything in the church was lost. Pray for our Fathers continued protection and replacement of all they have lost, in Yeshua's name,

All of the Book of the Revelation is the account that the Apostle John received in a vision (in the spirit, Rev 1:10) & to "write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter" (v19). So in Revelation 13:1, it was John who saw himself standing on the sea shore when he was also given the vision of the "beast rise up out of the sea" at that time.

People forget 2 Churches (1 of GOD & Christ) (1 of Satan Church Of Mahon) Remember: Read Line Upon Line, Precept upon Precept, a Little Here, a Little There:

    Here's the Problem

    1.) John 5:23

That all men should honour the Son, euen as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not e Sonne, honoreth not e Father which hath sent him.

    2.) John 10:38

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

    3.) John 14:13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son

    Here's The True Word:

1.) 1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for euer: & this is the word which by the Gospel is preached vnto you.

    2.) Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not;

3.) Matthew 4:10 for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

4.) Luke 4:8 Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Yes I do. I also believe in Matthew 26.

My belief in relieving the suffering of others comes from what Jesus taught, and showed us about humility. (Beatitudes)

It's only a loss of rewards at the Bema Seat judgment of Christ.

I pray with people in the Prayer Request Room because people need to hear God loves them and is ready to meet their Needs.

I begin my prayer with the Prayer of Agreement:

"19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Faith is Action. It does something. It changes us. It changes people we pray for.

Sometimes I hear back from people who were healed. It boosts my desire to bring Jesus to his lambs and hurting sheep.

Adam and Eve were spiritually connected to God. They knew the rules. Yet they ate the fruit (disobeyed), and lost that spiritual connection. They sinned.

If the Holy Spirit taps my shoulder, I listen up real quick.

Chris , your words are full of wisdom and i admire that in you man .

thank you for being there and i thank jesus christ too for bringing you up in here , a conversation with is smart and amazing to hear from you .as you even encountered muslims in Pakistan , that makes my heart beats , you met one of the most extremists over there .

as Charlie Hebdo events happened in Nice and Paris , i posted on my Facebook "Rest in Peace for the Christians who passed away and i wish your families to recover from their losses " , a Pakistani guy(he doesn't know that i left islam long time ago) told me that the muslim shall consider the prophet more than his parents so he shall kill , and he told me also that i'm a blasphemous for wishing the westerns and the priests to rest in peace , the guy is an ex military in the pakistani army , Yes Chris i got sick and blocked that guy and lighted a cigarette .

i'm not about spreading hate , but let's be more clear , westerns are lucky they got the Church and the freedom.

and i come from NORTH Africa that's why we got french and italian universities.

i know some woman too , her Brother works with islamist salafists in the country and those are the worst extremists, she told me that she attended the Church and she is secretly baptised and she loves jesus christ , she told me that she felt like a NEWBORN and she told me that it makes her terrified from her extremist brother .

for my personal experience when i just tried to get into the Church , there was extremists standing on the roofs of the neighberhoods watching "who is popular and new and from same race ? " , police been there but they will leak informations bcz police does not like to clash with them .

made me needing to buy a camera to be the church film maker just to get in to pray .

In my understanding of this subject & considering all relevant Scriptures, I don't detect that the Gift of speaking in other tongues has ever been done away with. There will be some who say that it has been, along with healing, miracles, etc. & they would cite some Scriptures in support, chiefly, 1 Corinthians 13:10 referring to the complete Word of God (that which is Perfect) now with us. And at the other end of the spectrum, there are those who maintain that unless one speaks in tongues, then one has not been baptized by the Spirit, hence not saved (using Acts chapter 2 as one of the Scriptures). And there are various opinions in-between.

I follow the understanding that if one has that gift, then one has to use it for God's Glory & as prescribed in the Word. 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14 are relevant for us to know how the gift is to be used in corporate ministry & private worship. The matter arises when a tongue is given that appears to not be a language unlearned, but as some describe it as 'babble'. Again, if this matter is unknown to the user of tongues, then Paul has prescribed the proper use of it. But often in some Churches, a corporate use of tongues in worship is given a special place which presents itself as a meaningless din to the non-participant, & this is not in accord with Scripture.

In any case, the Scripture is clear that though this was a sign of the reception of this Gift, it's certainly not mandatory to have it to prove the indwelling of the Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 12:30).

God's word is spirit and life. And faith comes from God's word. Adam and Eve disobeyed God's word and they died for that. So the devil is a perverter. He just wants us to disobey the spirit and life word, the faith word so we destroy ourselves and others. Jesus Christ said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. We are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body.

As you may have read other portions of this Book, Solomon speaks largely of the seemingly aimless cycles of life & its paradoxes. And one of those issues that might cause us to despair is the similar condition we have to those of animals.

As far as the flesh is concerned, man is no better than they. With all our intelligence, abilities to calculate & forecast, as well as our moral & spiritual dimensions, we still are no better than animals when we die: our bodies return to the dust - we are equal in that sense.

But 'the spirit of man goes upwards & the spirit of the beast goes downward to the Earth' (v21). Our spirits are accountable to our Creator for what we have done in this life (& specifically to God's call upon us), whereas the animal's spirit (that gave it life) perishes with it into the Earth. There is no indication here or anywhere else, that the end of man's life is simply a disappearance or annihilation from an earthly existence. Our spirits are indestructible & accountable, unlike the animal's. That's how I understand this portion.

Revelation 21:8 gives a list of those that not only not enter Heaven, but are ultimately cast into the Lake of Fire where Satan, the Beast & False Prophet are also cast into, in that final day of dealing with the sin problem.

I see that list as revealing the whole spectrum of sins: those without faith in God through His Son, those that partook of abominable things or did abominable things in God's Sight, idol worshippers, those practising in witchcraft & clairvoyants, & those given to lies & deception. So even if we don't see things like drunkenness, drug use, rape, child molestation, etc. in that list, I see that these are also covered under what God sees as abominable behaviour.

And all these will be judged for their sinful lives & the saddest thing is that they will suffer the same fate as those who never did any good, but only evil, as Satan & his cohorts did. Which speaks to me that in spite of all the good that man can do for others, still if there is unconfessed & unforgiven sin in his life, his pitiful end is certain.

Thank you for further information on your life & aspirations, Josef. A French University? I don't know the country you live in but French must be your mother tongue. Those are two great fields (Sound & Software Engineering), which would be useful in the Church or in Missions, especially in Bible Translation Work. But of course, you would still want to first be established in regular employment, developing that University knowledge into practical experience & a career. True, we can only please our God by all that we are, what we have & what we do. God requires of us no more than our full love & faithfulness to Him. He will do the rest.( Romans 12:1).

So you can still have a career & also give of your love & experience to the Lord's work that will build up His Church. Some of us here on this site, did just that: personally, I worked during the day (so I had money to live & give for the Lord's Work/Missions), & on some nights I dropped tracts (small Christian Gospel leaflets) walking around in my neighbourhood & on weekends, did street evangelism & sometimes shared in a Bible study. That way I kept myself busy doing what the Lord put onto my heart - and the wonderful thing was that while in prayer one morning (in 1987), the Lord specifically guided me to full time service (I mentioned to you about being in Pakistan). When we submit ourselves wholly to Him, He promises to be with us & lead us in HIS paths.

Doing a Bible course online or at a Bible College is very useful but care should be taken first. Ask yourself: is this something that the Lord would have me do at this time? What do I know about the College or course of studies: do research on their requirements & Statement of beliefs & practises (not all colleges hold to pure biblical teaching). Their costs? How long is the course? Is the certificate at the end of the course of any value? But never forget, personal Bible study is most useful. I hope some of this advice helps you further.
