Having lost both my parents at an earlier age, I too can relate how wonderfully the Lord undertook for me, "to give unto (me) beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that (I) might be called (a tree) of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified". Isaiah 61:3. And that's what it is: that He might be glorified in us in every way.
Whether in joy or grief, health or sickness, in the light or darkness, He is there - He is YHWH-Shammah (The Lord Who is Present - Ezekiel 48:35), the Lord Who never leaves or forsakes His children. Your rich memories, in your heart & in visible things around the house, will always be precious - maybe bringing in a tear or some times of great sadness, but still keeping his memory special & precious forever - till we meet again, indeed! Walk on in the joy & strength of the Lord, dear sister.
(these) are just some of the beliefs & practises that are NOT found in Scripture. So Josef, please be warned about joining such a Church that is in opposition to the Bible & teachings of Christ. I've only given the above points briefly, but if you need more information, then I can expand on them.
I read through your testimony of what you had been through as a younger person & even your help to the needy & defending the weak. All beautiful traits in a person that I'm sure God has brought you through or allowed you to suffer, to the point now of revealing His Son Jesus Christ to you in the vision. The Apostle Paul, who was formerly Saul a strict religious leader, also encountered Jesus whilst travelling to find & kill those Jews who had turned from Judaism to Christ. (See this in Acts chapter 9). That man was mightily changed by Jesus while travelling on a road & had to unlearn many things from Judaism & to learn many new things from Christ. So Josef, your exuberance for Christ & Bible reading, is a joy to read about, but you also need a good understanding & grasp of what you are reading & not persuaded by other voices. So ask the Holy Spirit's help to understand & you know that you're always welcome here to ask us also. Some of us are quite aged now having walked with the Lord for many years, proving His Word & His Spirit in our lives ever since we were born again of God's Spirit. Even though we aren't perfect in our knowledge, we can still guide you in looking at God, His Son & Spirit and the various doctrines & teachings in the Bible, with greater clarity & understanding. Walk carefully, brother & hope you receive God's Help in your higher studies. Blessings.
Hi Josef. Thank you for your comments. What I will write now may be a little difficult for you to appreciate but it is necessary for your guidance, I feel.
When a Muslim thinks of a Church, he generally sees a building that is visible & usually it's a large ornate building with a steeple, cross & stained glass windows. But there are other smaller Church buildings, or none at all, that are not seen. Before discussing the Roman Catholic Church, the Bible speaks of the Church as essentially being Christ's Body & not a building made of stones or bricks. This means the Church (Greek: ekklesia) is a gathering, or body of Christians - it is not a building. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". Jesus was telling Peter that "upon this rock" (i.e. upon Peter's great confession in verse 16), Christ would build His Church (not a building, but a body of believers coming from many lands & out of many religions).
I gather that you are in proximity to a Roman Catholic Church (RC) as you wrote about the music & chanting. Some things can be appealing but if you're drawn to RCs, then you should be aware that much of what they believe & do is not according to the Bible. Much could be said here, but to itemize those errors briefly: their prayer to idols & to saints, worship to Mary, burning or waving incense (as prayers offered to God), the Eucharist that turns into the Body & Blood of Christ, one is not baptized into Christ but into the Church (i.e. belonging to an RC Church is what gives you salvation along with faith in Jesus), faith alone cannot save you - good works are needed also, the Apocryphal books are used giving rise to strange teaching, baptism given to a child is true & valid, & for all, sprinkling, not immersion in water, is practised, the Pope is infallible & is Christ's representative on Earth, - go to page 2.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. ( Titus 2:13-14)
We know that grace through faith in Jesus Christ saves us, but also we are saved unto good works. So it's a matter of a proper order of first becoming a child of God and then walking worthy in obedience to God's will.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. ( Matthew 7:18-20)
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. ( 1 Corinthians 3:11-15)
Answered Paul,
Your system showed it was incorrect, stating Paul and Timothy.
This is false.
Peter wrote the first sections of the New Testament, which results in one third.
After Paul wrote all remaining section, which amounts to two thirds.
There are No other writters.
From where is Your information base to claims otherwise?
Thank you for taking the time to type that out. I really enjoyed reading that.
A pity for only having 2000 characters. :-D
Yours in Christ
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. ( 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. ( James 5:16)
You may request brethren pray and assist to help overcome your faults.
God bless you :-D
The Church is the Body of Jesus Christ which is made up of sons and daughters of God. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God. The word "churches" we use today is just the places Christian people come together at certain times. Further, these groups have different ideas, then we call them "denominations". Church-buildings and denominations are not in the Bible and are not important.
What is important is to hear the Gospel, have faith to believe, repent of our sin, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and get the Holy Spirit. That is all.
Peace in Christ
Previously he was called upon by names that referred to his interactions with his people, (Lord God, most high God, God seest me, etc.) .
God has step-by-step revealed Himself to man. In the garden of Eden Adam just knew Him as God (Elohim). Abraham called Him El-Shaddai (The great breasted One). To Moses it was revealed that He is Yahweh (Jehovah) meaning "I am". We today know Him as Yahshuah (Jesus) meaning "I am salvation".
Let us thank God for His mercy and worship God our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
Love in Christ
Remember the apostles were not yet filled with the Holy Spirit. They were just ordinary men who had been prepared for the coming of the Spirit of God on Pentecost. Their idea about adding a twelfth apostle was stupid. They were just thinking as normal people think. They did not have the mind of Christ at that time. Shortly before that, Peter had even denied three times that he was a follower of Jesus Christ! Thomas had even said he thought the other apostles were crazy for thinking Jesus had risen from the dead! These were just simple, uneducated common men... but then came the Holy Ghost...
So to answer you question: No, it was wrong.
Love in Christ
The answer you are looking for is in the history of Christianity. The Trinity doctrine started early in the 2nd century and caused confusion for a very long time until in the year 325 AD there was a meeting in Rome called the Nicene Council where many of the "big" church leaders of the day went to formalize what they thought was the correct doctrine of the Godhead and baptism formula. They decided that the Trinity is the true doctrine of God's nature and that to be baptized in the 3 titles was the correct baptism. This has continued on until the present time by most churches. The glorious reformation under Martin Luther and others in the 15th century did unfortunately not throw out this false doctrine and false baptism.
The correct baptism is the Bible baptism: in the name of the Lord Jesus or the name of Jesus Christ. If I may say, you quoted the Scriptures wrongly. There is no baptism in the name of Jesus recorded in the Bible.
Being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ is perfect in that it is correctly following the pattern, i.e., we die with Christ, we rise with Christ, we are filled with the Spirit of Christ. Therefore we worship our one and only Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (thus fulfilling the words of Jesus in Matthew 28 "...in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost")
Peace and love in Christ
What did Jesus mean by saying "after you are converted"?
I have always thought, because Jesus "CHOSE" His disciples, they were already "saved".
Could it be that Jesus had not yet shed His blood whereby men can be "saved" through faith That His blood is salvation?
Why was this message given to John.
Why must these things come to pass
What does "signified" Mean.

Who will be blessed by reading or hearing Revelations.
