    Matthew 27.43

He trusted in God ; let him deliver him now , if he will have him : for he said , I am the Son of God .

Notice Jesus was condemned for claiming to be the Son of God .

" the Son OF God " not GOD the SON . It can not be both , the Bible never says Jesus is GOD . There is only 1 LORD GOD .

Yes Jesus is born OF God , not at all the same thing . Jesus was condemned for claiming to be the Son OF God .

God bears witness that Jesus is his Son .

witnessed by the word of God the Bible and even Jesus enemies ?

GOD the SON , never mentioned in the Bible .

If any person came in any time and said He is GOD no one in their right mind would give it a second thought .

Heb 1:5-8: "For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten (Gk. prototokon, NOT 'protokitses'=first created) into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God WORSHIP him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."

May you come to understand this great Truth that alone could redeem us back to God & set us free from that awful penalty which we deserved. Blessings.

In the Court of God, all men are guilty of sin & have to pay the penalty. In the court of man, we pay for our crimes & we are then released, but with God our payment can only lead to an eternal separation from God with no possibility of release. How can Jesus then say in John 3:16, "God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son"? Does His Love extend to just another sacrifice that was no better than the former? Or, does His Love speak to us in this way: 'because no sacrifice could pay for your sins, I provided the Sacrifice that would fully meet My demands of justice & full payment - Myself'. This was the only Sacrifice possible - all others have failed & would fail.

Back to 1 John 4:3. Men in Jesus' day knew Who Jesus was: a man, his mother Mary & (supposed) father, Joseph. Even today, most would not deny an historical Jesus Who walked the Earth. So John is not speaking of that Jesus, as a man ("come in the flesh"), but from & of God. That spirit of anti-Christ, just as the final anti-Christ still to come, will deny the divinity of Jesus but will seek to replicate His humanity through power, signs & wonders.

If one is to deny Christ His Deity, then one has to go to much pain to deny the Spirit His Deity. But if forced only to accept God the Father & His Spirit as One, then one would subscribe to a Binity God & that won't work either. It is safest to say that God expressed Himself by His Word & by His Spirit. His Word went to the prophets to bring God's Message to His people. "But in these last days hath spoken to us by His Son" ("the Word (God's Word) was made flesh & dwelt among us") Heb 1:2; Jn 1:14.

Hi again Hugo, I feel compelled to write again but won't repeat the pertinent accurate comments that Adam has given you. Have you seen this Scripture?

1 John 4:3: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

Here is a warning by the apostle John to all his readers & this was given in the midst of gnostic thought that was intruding into the Church. Gnosticsm has many facets, but the one seen here is: "the incarnation (i.e. God coming in the form of man) is incredible because Deity cannot unite itself with anything material, such as a body" (also referred to as Docetism). John is saying that the spirit behind the one who proclaims that Jesus Christ is simply just a good, perfect Man speaks by the spirit of anti-Christ & not of God. This is hard for me to say this to you given our past conversation, but the Word is clear & specific.

Because the Nature of God is hard to understand & sometimes likened to the pantheistic religions of the world, doesn't mean that our interpretation has evolved from them. Even if we break this down further: would a redemptive, substitutionary Sacrifice even be possible by a separate created Being from God? If it didn't work by using spotless animals as sacrifice in the past, it wouldn't work by a new creation of human. Why should God create a new human for the purpose of sacrifice? He could have done perfectly well with animal sacrifices & with faith in our offering & in God's acceptance of it, we should be in right standing before Him.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 22:19 - 5 years ago
Your comment is appreciated Hugo. Indeed, the Church has been blessed with many gifted with abilities from God. And prophecy was one of them. Some would argue the prophetical content of those so gifted: are they establishing the published prophecies in the Word, or are they proclaiming something added to existing prophecies, or even something totally new as some have been prophesying on future events from present news. To this, I am very concerned & of course, the truth of the prophecy can be verified by its outcome: Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

The Bible, in totality, is God's Word, past, present & future, to mankind. Prophets in the past have received God's Word directly to them which they have faithfully passed on. Others such as the apostles, in the new Church age, took up those prophecies & shed further light on them as they were led of the Spirit. Sometimes, they declared a 'mystery', something which was not revealed or clearly seen before (e.g. Romans 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:51, 2 Thessalonians 2:7, & others). And the union of believing Jew & Gentile in Christ's Church is seen today in full measure.

In the Church now, which has the whole counsel of God in the Word & by His Spirit, any prophetical utterance has to be seen & tested by what has already been revealed. The fear that I expressed concerns the volume of cults & other God-centric religions that proclaim & prophesy matters that are not in the Bible, even anti-biblical & anti-Christian in content. And we also have a plethora of those who want to tingle our ears with something new so that we might be drawn to their 'prophecies or delusions', even donating money to keep their ministry going & our accepting them as fact rather than seeing them as 'an opinion', yet to be verified. Where is that "one prophet" of God out of a 1000 false ones that will make our hearts & spirits burn with joy & hope, rather than tingle our ears with nonsense? Blessings & peace on you too brother.

According to the law Adultery was punishable by death .

So was murder of another .

One reason as well the adulterous person was put to death it freed the innocent person to marry another qualified to marry .

But in today's world they would call it murder . So the innocent person must remain single because of an unjust world , we can see as things are falling away the criminals seem to be getting more and more rights .

Here is a question for you that think because we are under grace the laws do not apply ; so being under grace if you kill someone that's fine you are not under the law right ?

Adultery and murder are quite close in degrees of sin , both punishable by death , according to Gods laws .

    Dear Hugo,

I'm not sure what your motive is for coming to a Christian Bible website and calling something that most Christians believe in a 'falsehood'. Where is your proof that what you're saying isn't a falsehood?

The reason people believe that the Father, the Son (the Word, or Jesus), and Holy Spirit are one is that the Bible literally says that in 1 John 5:7. If you hover over the links you'll see it.

So, since the Bible already says that, the real question is why don't you believe the Bible verse 1 John 5:7?

If you're looking for other Bible verses that support that, here they are: John 10:30, John 1:1, John 1:14 (The Word is Jesus Christ)

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise when Christians believe literally what the Bible says, so if you don't that means you must have a different interpretation of it, right? Of course most do not interpret it the way you do.

You wrote: "Jesus Christ is the name of God the father"

I'd like to ask what Bible verses do you believe supports that idea and where does it come from? Jesus is the same God, but a separate being/entity than God the Father. If He was exactly identical then the Bible would not have separated them into 3 entities/personalities or called them separate names, and wouldn't have given the verses it did. Since Jesus prayed to God the Father, is it logical that Jesus was praying to Himself? Matthew 26:39 - He said 'let this cup pass from me... not as I will, but thou wilt." This verse refutes your claim that they are both Jesus Christ. Would any of Jesus's prayers make sense of He was praying to Himself?

    God bless...

Donna, my understanding is that Adam & Eve had natural skin just as we have (the epidermis, dermis & hypodermis), yet prior to their downfall into sin, that skin, as all their organs, would have never corrupted to bring on sickness, disease or death.

With the inception of sin into their lives, their conviction of it, & subsequent attempt to hide from God, showed that that sin also brought the sense of bodily shame, which they never had before. The eyes & minds of those once pure & holy were now subject to the effects of sin, & one of those effects was the sense of shame & need for covering. They initially used fig leaves for covering but the Lord gave them something more durable by way of animal skins. And this in the larger picture showed them that animals could now also be killed, whether for their skin/fur value or later on, in sacrifice & for food.

To add to the suggestions already made... Remember that there is only Life or Death. Life is the Holy Spirit. Death is not having the Holy Spirit. So my question for you is: Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?

Just repentance is NOT enough. You must be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ, and receive the Holy Spirit. Then you have Life. Then you are free. Then you have the seal of God. Then you belong to God.

Verse 10 let not the wife depart from the husband COMMAND of the Lord .

Verse 11 remains unmarried or reconciled to the husband .

Verse 15 if the unbeliever depart let them depart , brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases ...

What is the bondage in such cases ?

Impossible to be the marriage law , so it is the COMMAND of the Lord verses 10 and 11

If you say it's the marriage law , why do we even have laws ?

You can not break the laws with out sinning . So it's the Lords command to stay together , you can not force the unbelievers to obey the Lords commands . But you must remain single or break the law and become adulterous.

It is a harsh thing to go through, but the truth is the truth. As long as your husband lives you can not marry again. If you do that, you will be living as an adulterous woman.

It is not nice to have to write about it. It is not nice to have to think about it. It is not nice to have to accept it. But it is the truth.

We are freed from sin, but still responsible. If you as a Christian steal something, you have to go and give it back. If you as a Christian have a living partner, you cannot marry someone else.

Perhaps when a person is so in love with the Lord Jesus Christ he does not even notice big events in the material world. Let us also have such a longing for Christ that we would not even notice if someone in front of you pulled out a knife and held it to your throat. We could look at the guy and say "God bless you dear one" and not even feel the touch of the steel.

There have been different movements in Church history.

From about 1500 we have the Lutheran churches who just believe that you are saved by faith, and do not need to live a holy life. From about 1700 we have the Wesleyan churches who believe you must also live a holy life. From about 1900 we have the Pentecostal churches which believe that after faith, and holiness, comes the Holy Ghost as a seperate event in your life.

These latter churches would emphasize speaking in tongues. Some even go so far as to say that speaking in tongues is the evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism. That is not true thought; Jesus said that when the Holy Ghost comes He will teach us in all things. So the evidence for the Holy Spirit is to accept the truth when it comes to you.

I would probably first air this matter out with the pastor - have a private talk in his offices & preferably with another Church leader as witness, so that your observations, concerns & fears may be brought to him. How he responds to this & the changes that take place subsequent to your meeting, should guide you for your future within that congregation. I can see that you do value the ministry there, but these subtle goings on, can be unnerving & impede your ministry & personal growth. I'm sure you've brought all this before the Lord & would expect that the pastor would do likewise so that all parties can agree that only the Lord can bring clarity, focus & healing.

May the Lord truly guide you in this & give you His Peace & direction for the days ahead.

Jeanette, thanks for sharing the background to your sad situation. With what you've written, you seemed to have had the good of the Church & ministering to the children uppermost on your heart - and this was heartening to read & you are to be commended for your love & faithfulness.

However, from the comment by the pastor's wife that she should be considered as pastor in her husband's absence, is concerning. That's not how the Church is organized or functions & I would be surprised if your pastor agreed to that. Are there no elders or deacons appointed, or is the Church a 'one-man show'? Or, maybe women pastors are seen as appropriate appointments within the Church. When she approached you to do something, were you able to discuss the matter with the pastor himself so that he was aware of these 'two voices speaking to you'? It's always the right thing to do, to air out a matter before misunderstandings or friction can arise.

I perceive that there is a 'Control' issue here. Both he & his wife are probably seeing themselves as being 'overlords' & 'owners' of the congregation, to whom his teaching from the Word can only be the one acceptable, rather than believers hearing the Word given & having freedom to verify it in their own hearts & in their own study, to see whether his words are in accord with the Bible. And that both he & his wife's attitude changed after his wife's son joined the Church may indicate some renewed opposition to you, to what you're doing, or the position you hold there.

You speak devoutly but we must not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Ephesians 4:11 clearly tells us that there are still prophets in the Church age. There may be 1,000 false prophets, but there will also be 1 who truly has received the office of being a prophet from Almighty God.

Let us get the Holy Spirit and then we can not be deceived.

To get baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ is a wonderful thing. Afterward you have to consecrate you life, praying every day to receive the Holy Ghost.

But remember that before you get baptized you must have repented of your sin. That includes going to the people you know and asking them to forgive you if you have done anything wrong to them. It does not matter whether you know of something wrong you did to them or not. Go to everyone you know and tell them that you have given your life to Jesus Christ and now you are asking them to forgive you if you did something wrong to them.

There is a big difference between Jesus and the Lord Jesus Christ. Saying Jesus is not the Word of God is 100% correct. Jesus is the name of a human body. Jesus Christ refers to the Divine which became manifested in such a way that we can interact with It just like you interact with your wife or children. This manifested Divinity is also called the Word.
