Someone please explain to me what it means to love the brethren ? Especially the part about loving God who you have not seen but hate your brother who you have seen. Is he talking about a christian brother or natural brother?

Matthew Henry explained vs 1 and to saying when the gospel 'rightly understood and received sets that heart against all sin and stops the practice of it, at the same time gives blessed relief to the wounded consciences of those who have sinned. I agree with this statement for all those who once saved never look back and live a life for the Lord. But people like me who knew the truth, lived it and then fell away, we don't get that blessed relief of consciences at least i don't. I know I am saved but the joy of life is gone, unless i am not understanding.

Matthew 24:32. Our Lord Jesus said this parable to his disciples as a prophecy of future Israel. Fig tree denotes Israel nation. Hosea.9:1.Israel nation rebirthed in 1948. Now it is 72 years passed. Israel is well established showing tender branches. That denotes summer is nearing. What is summer to Israel. Summer is the season of harvest.Matthew.13:39 says harvest denotes end of the world. Yes it is time of Messiah to come. In Psalm 90: 10 says "The days our years are threescore years and ten:and if by reason of strength they may be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow: for it is soon cut off, and we fly away". So Israel remains only eight years (maximum) for harvest. Called, Chosen and faithful - be ready for the glorous event.

Your trivia on Luke17 has a discrepency in the number of men who had leprosy that came to Jesus. When I read the standard english bible, it says there were 10 men who were lepers. Your King James bible version says there are 11. Who has the correct account of the bible?

A clear indication here that his name has been changed early on to the point of all historical records bearing his name may have even been that name they were using incorrectly and then covered over again with generic terms as god and lord, even baal its self means lord. Liveth, coming after the name signifies he is reiterating what he told moses when he told him to tell the israelites I am that I am therefore tell them I AM has sent you. In specific unto whom he made himself known even having a name is it not disrespectful to call your dad by his first name even so the Son acknowledges His Father as living Father and came in His Fathers name saying many things declaring I am the living bread that cometh down from heaven. To address him otherwise would mean you are in opposition to life inquiring like a business proposal instead of inheriting the love that a Father has for his Son and a Son who heeds his Father's words to honor and return the same love he is loved with.
  • Chris - In Reply on Micah 1 - 5 years ago
Greg, as with all the prophets sent by God to pronounce judgement on the evils by His people, Micah too, proclaimed God's displeasure for that particular duration of his prophetical utterances. So from Micah 1:1, we see Micah sent as a prophet to Judah during the successive reigns of Kings Jotham, Ahaz & Hezekiah. Prior to Micah, the prophet Amos preached & after Micah, came Isaiah.

So the 'misbehaviour' that Micah referred to was during the reigns of these three kings. Jothan & Hezekiah were generally considered to be 'good' kings, unlike Ahaz. For the common poor Israelite, they encountered much harassment from enemy armies, also of hardship by the exploitation from the wealthy amongst them (2:1-13), oppression by their rulers (3:1-4) & the many false prophets who misled them from the Truth (3:5-8). Micah, as did Amos, proclaimed judgement on the people as well as crying for social justice. And of course, apart from the sorrows that came to the people at the time, ultimately Judah went into the Babylonian captivity for failure to abide by God's requirements.

Jim, it was troubling to read your understanding of Genesis chap 6 & particularly likening the Almighty God to a child throwing a 'hissy fit'. You demonstrate a very poor understanding of the Doctrine of God if all you can see in that passage is a simple-minded, irrational God.

If God Who has the wisdom & power to create all things out of nothing, but as you state, shown Himself to be incapable of controlling His Anger & not displaying the required commonsense, then where does your determination leave you as a simple sinful created being speaking so highly & ignorantly against the Holy Living God?

Could not your 'wisdom' in judging the Character of God as being flawed, leave you wallowing in your ignorance as one who is destitute of knowledge of Who God is & of His Plans for mankind, that you attempt to make judgement on? It seems that you would need to be at God's side, in full knowledge of His Plans & Purposes, seeing the rampant wickedness of mankind, noting the "preacher of righteousness" (Noah, 2 Peter 2:5) living amongst the wicked, & God's desire to give mankind another chance rather than wiping them all out forever, before even a reasonable judgement from you can be given.

Rather, we should all plead ignorance on matters that are way beyond our knowledge & our limited narrow worldly perspectives & submit to the All-Wise God Whose Word that goes out accomplishes all that He pleases. By declaring what you have just said only serves to demonstrate that part of your thinking that is perverted & in darkness about the God before Whom you will one day have to stand.

14 What then shall we say?(AC) Is God unjust? Not at all!(AD) 15 For he says to Moses,

"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,

and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."[f](AE)

16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy.(AF) 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."[g](AG) 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.(AH)

A few thoughts on the pretrib rapture .

I remember before I was saved I often worried about getting left behind and I'd check just to make sure some people I though where strong Christians where still present . Glad those days are over ! :)

If it was true all Christians go so you don't need to believe in it . It's not the second coming of Christ that we need to be ready to open unto him .

The sad part is so many will be disappointed went it does not happen and may not be able to prepare for the real tough times .

When I found it to be false it was through the Bible over time , not a slam dunk as it is today . I much preferred the pretrib rapture and dreaded the alternative. But the truth is We are not appointed to wrath of God , but man may have some trouble for us etc .

But God as Apostle Paul said God shall deliver us from all affection and evil .

It takes time to realize that this life is temporary and God has such a bigger plan ahead !

He will get us there any way he wants .

So don't panic when it does not happen prepare for the worst and anyway . I have no fear of the future , the sooner we leave the better as far as I'm concerned! But God is patient and trying to save more ...

Stay faithful , you have done it so far , don't give in to temptation.

Only death frees a person from a marriage, read Romans ch 7 .

There is so much misinformation on divorces theses days .

    God will judge adulterers.

I met a couple years ago they both where married previous and decided to marry again and started a new marriage that they regretted later .

They felt they rushed into it and had bad counsel . They broke up the second marriage confessing the sin of it .

1, I kindly request for a huge pray that will move my mountain my son is very very rude to me infect he treats me like I am in jail I need to be condemned in everything I don't he is always in disagreement with everything I do. He drinks alcohol sometimes I think he takes drugs the way he acts. Please I need prayers. Yes I do pray without sizing but the more I pray it becomes worse

    2. This might sound weird but it is real. I am being followed every where I go. (This has to do with/from my workplace) I have done serious observation to prove that I am not creating or imagining but know it is realikely happening. When it's happening I don't think straight and know when I realise that someone is following me even if I have errands to do or its shopping I just leave and go home straight. Please I kindly need strong prayers that I don't go mad. This has been happening for sometime now. I hope you won't laugh at me

Your testimony Rob, was heartening to read, showing that in spite of your efforts, it took the blessed work of God's Spirit to make the difference to bring you to the points of acknowledgement , conviction & true cleansing. This old hymn immediately came to mind, which I think you may know:

    1

I know not why God's wondrous grace

To me He hath made known,

Nor why, unworthy as I am

He claimed me for His own.

    Refrain

But "I know Whom I have believed

And am persuaded that He is able

To keep that which I've committed

    Unto Him against that day."

    2

I know not how this saving faith

    To me He did impart,

Nor how believing in His word

    Wrought peace within my heart.

    3

I know not how the Spirit moves,

    Convincing men of sin,

    Revealing Jesus through the Word,

    Creating faith in Him.

    4

I know not what of good or ill

    May be reserved for me,

Of weary ways or golden days,

    Before His face I see.

    5

I know not when my Lord may come,

    At night or noon-day fair,

Nor if I'll walk the vale with Him,

Or "meet Him in the air."

May the joy of your salvation be your ever-present experience.

When in doubt read the Commentary:

    Wesley's Notes for 2 Thessalonians 2:2

2:2 Be not shaken in mind - In judgment. Or terrified - As those easily are who are immoderately fond of knowing future things. Neither by any pretended revelation from the Spirit, nor by pretence of any word spoken by me. (Paul the Apostle)

    People's Bible Notes for 2 Thessalonians 2:2

2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled. Be not agitated, or in distress. Neither by spirit. By some one who says he has a revelation of the Spirit. Nor by word, nor by letter AS FROM US. Nor by one who claims to quote a word or letter FROM US. It is thought that a FORGED letter had been circulated to which Paul alludes. In the close of this Epistle he shows how his letters may be known to be genuine. Some suppose, however, that by "letter" he refers to an incorrect interpretation which was placed on his first letter.

I notice that verse 3 seems to bear up, what Paul said in verse 2. We need to remember that Paul was probably incarcerated at this time.

The Falling Away of the Church is going on right now in the world. Lots of things happening to distract us and keep us preoccupied with a world going mad.

Verse 7: The Holy Spirit is restraining the Reveal of Antichrist, until God the Father takes Him out of the way.

This is not a good time to be backsliding or having one last fling.

We were told to have our lamps full of the Oil of the Holy Spirit and to be listening and looking for the Bridegroom.

If you have any unsaved loved ones; now is the time to urge them to come to Jesus now, and not Harden their hearts. Make your peace, forgive Everyone and say goodbye. We're that close.

    Mishael

    Dear brother Richard.

Your attitude & heart's response to those without Christ on this side of the grave, was very special to read & worthy of praise to the Lord for His Work of Grace & Humility that He has done, & is doing, in your life. That in very truth ought to be the attitude of every Spirit-filled child of God, looking not in condemnation on the evil in others, but recognizing the great deception that they're under with their resulting follies, for which their only healing balm can be faith in the shed Blood of Jesus. And even to pray for those who hate or persecute us does indeed take a great measure of love & compassion for them, which only can come from the Spirit of Love & Grace. And with such a Spirit, how can one ever wish for the suffering of another whether in life or death. May we, as we study the operation of God, as One Holy, Merciful & Just, lead us into His Truth that we may both love & warn others accordingly. May the Spirit of Christ be your ever-present Help & Guide Richard, in your life which is in Christ, in God.

Genesis 6 clearly demonstrates that God has the mind of a toddler or small child, throwing a hissy fit over his creation and then getting angry and murdering them, before crying over having had a hissy fit and getting upset and saving noah. No adult doesn't just pull all the weeds because one is a dandelion and looks like a flower - no, an adult will pull all the weeds, i.e. not save noah because he appears as though he is not a weed, even though he was, being human.
  • Rob - In Reply on Luke 3 - 5 years ago
Prior to this experience I cleaned up my life seeking to live right by the teaching of the word , I did not know this is repentance in action , just seemed like the right thing to do . But it was not enough . I knew what it meant follow Jesus , total commitment even death if needed to be faithful.

Death to self the world and evil . The Bible convinced me that I was still without God . As good as I could be I still knew nothing as I should . A very hard lesson to learn . But he changed me , I did not do it .

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith . When we look back we see this clearer . At the time I did not see it clearly as now .
