The 1 Samuel reference above gives the account, though to read the whole story, you would need to start at 1 Samuel chapter 20:1. David was fleeing King Saul who was out to kill him because David, after his victory with Goliath & the ensuing slaughter of the Philistines, was being praised & adored more than Saul.
After some events, David ended up in Gath to gain refuge from the King (Achish), thinking he would find refuge there as no one would know him outside of Israel. Now Goliath was from Gath, so David in fact, was turning to the enemy's country for refuge - why he opted for this, one can only guess: possibly, the remote chance for an enemy to walk into the city to live. However, Achish's servants did finally recognize David as the one whose praises were proclaimed throughout the regions. So David realizing that he was known, feigned madness by scribbling on walls, dribbling spittle, etc., probably to prove that this 'madman' could not possibly be the dreaded enemy David, but a look-alike, which in turn prompted the King to cast him from his presence. So David then escaped to the cave Adullam.
The Lord was pleased with Solomon ( 2 Chronicles 1:1) & so offered to answer his request (1:7-12). And Solomon's wisdom was unmatched anywhere, even as we read through the Song of Songs, Proverbs & Ecclesiastes. As well, he built the first Temple in Jerusalem & expanded the united kingdom of Israel as far as Egypt & the Euphrates River. However, his wisdom even though I'm sure extended into his familial arena, found a weak spot in his heart of flesh: he succumbed to his lust for women. All his wisdom couldn't not alert him to his weakness & avoid impending doom. But it wasn't primarily a physical weakness, but a spiritual one, as his 700 wives & 300 porcupineserrconcubines, pricked & turned his heart to follow after other gods ( 1 Kings 11:1,2) "surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love."
1 Kings 11: 9.10): "And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded." In his wisdom, Solomon even broke the first two Commandments of God, further disqualifying him from further ruler ship.
The lesson we can learn from this is found in 1 Corinthians 10:12: "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." And this warning, Rob has emphasized also. If one so 'wise' as Solomon could succumb & fall into sin, how much more should we take care & learn to take God seriously & use His Gifts wisely.
Looking for that blessed hope , and glorious appearing of the great God and our savior Jesus Christ
Our hope the coming of Christ in Glory!
Amen !
Matthew begins with Jesus's Genealogy and birth; and Joseph.
Mark covers John the Baptist.
Luke, Mary's visitation from Gabriel and the prophesies. Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist.
John: details Jesus's Ministry
Check in Isaiah too
I see this event as both Jesus' acknowledgement of his familial position as a son before his Mother as well as being directed by His Heavenly Father for the planned revelation of His Son to Israel. All that the Father has purposed for His Son (& for each one of us) fits perfectly into His timeline & order, so even though "His hour (of revelation) had not yet come", this 'first' miracle at this particular time would not necessarily throw the Divine timing out, rather, brought it forward a notch with the other events that showed the divinity of Jesus naturally following on according to that Plan.
They both knew he could; the time to begin had not bean given by The Father yet.
In my experience; don't run ahead of the Lord. I did, Once. I was promptly corrected. (The Holy Spirit was speaking to my spirit)..."are you ready to do it My Way?"
(Concerning street evangelism.)
He didn't reprove me. Just asked a question. I learned to LOVE hearing that Shepherd's voice that day!!!
Mishael
Book of Revelation 22
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Mishael comment: this a strong warning For all of us; me too.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
>>Wesley's Notes for Revelation 22:2
In the midst of the street - Here is the paradise of God, mentioned: Rev 2:7, Is the tree of life - Not one tree only, but many. Every month - That is, in inexpressible abundance. The variety, likewise, as well as the abundance of the fruits of the Spirit, may be intimated thereby. And the leaves are for the healing of the nations - For the continuing their health, not the restoring it; for no sickness is there.
>>People's Bible Notes for Revelation 22:2
In the midst of its street. In the Revised Version this is attached to Revelation 22:1. It is the river of life that runs in the street. On each side of the river, watered by it, stands the tree of life . . . yielded her fruit every month. The thought is that it is always fruitful, not limited to certain seasons of fruit bearing. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. We are not to conclude that there were diseases to be healed, but that in the city were the means which banished disease and death." ( Genesis 2:10). Here there is a river, "clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb" ( Revelation 22:1) There was a tree of life in Paradise. In the New Jerusalem, on either side of the river stands the tree of life bearing twelve manner of fruits, or rather fruit twelve times a year, every month. The river and the tree are symbols of the life bestowed by the grace of God. The river flows from the throne of God and the Lamb; from the fountain whence life and immortality come. Everything about the tree is healthful. Even the leaves are for the healing of the nations. There is a book, a river and a tree of life. Christ is the life, and all refer in some way to Christ.

God 'S Blessings to you.

Making plans to refuse the Rapture of the Church is madness. It's premeditated rebellion against everything. Don't you see that?
Rebellion is AS THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT.
Jesus is offering the gift of eternal life. He's the Way, the Truth, the Life. No one comes to the Father, but by Him.
It cost Him everything! All we have to do is admit we have sinned. Confess it. Take Jesus's hand and be born again.
Stop trying to convince people in here, they don't have choices. They do; you don't.
